Exchange of Experience in Lightning Style Ninjutsu (2/5)
While the Third Tsuchikage and the Third Hokage were playing their game around Allen, he himself knew nothing about it. He was still in the camp, discussing Lightning Style Ninjutsu with Kakashi.
"So, the Chidori you created uses speed to force a massive amount of Lightning Release Chakra into the target’s body at once, destroying their meridians, muscles, blood vessels, and internal organs from within, right?"
After hearing the full principles behind Chidori, one of the most frequently appearing ninjutsu in the anime, Allen stroked his chin thoughtfully.
He had always assumed that Chidori was a technique similar to the Chakra Scalpel, dealing damage primarily through cutting.
But in reality, like the Rasengan, it was an energy projectile—one that had to be pressed directly against an enemy’s body to take effect.
Kakashi nodded without hesitation. "That’s right! Lightning Release Chakra naturally spreads, so if you gather it together and release it in an instant, it can cause tremendous damage. And if you add Shape Transformation, you can derive other techniques from it as well."
"Have you ever considered making Chidori leave the body and firing it like an arrow?" Allen asked with interest.
"Firing it like an arrow?" A shocked expression appeared on Kakashi’s face. "How could you even think of that? Lightning Release Chakra is the most violent and the hardest to control. Forget firing it like an arrow—even if it leaves your body by a meter or so, it’ll immediately go out of control and produce unpredictable results."
"Lightning Release Chakra is indeed difficult to control, but we can control it another way—for instance, through the electric field I just mentioned," Allen explained casually.
Lightning Release Chakra was hard to control?
What a joke!
Not to mention that the nerve fibers within the human body relied on electrical signals for transmission, just a little knowledge of electricity would make it easy to control and manipulate according to one’s will.
It was just that this world’s technology tree had gone completely off course. Coupled with the fact that ninjas spent all day thinking about fighting and killing, there were practically no people with genuine technological development abilities.
Other than Orochimaru, the foremost scientist, only Tobirama Senju, the Master of Forbidden Jutsu, was worth mentioning.
Of the techniques recorded in Konoha Village’s Scroll of Seals, probably two-thirds had been invented by the Second Hokage.
"Electric field…"
Kakashi narrowed his eyes and fell into thought.
But soon, imitating the technique Thunderbird, he slowly formed a bird-shaped mass of flickering white electric light in his palm.
Unfortunately, a ninjutsu that used both Shape Transformation and Nature Transformation at once was simply too difficult. Before he could finish, it exploded with a pop, numbing half his arm with electricity.
If the amount of Chakra he had used had not been relatively small, he might have killed himself before killing an enemy.
Realizing this, Kakashi could not help but smile wryly. "You really are a monster! You actually came up with such a terrifying technique—and even managed to create it."
"No, it hasn’t succeeded yet. The current Thunderbird still has flaws. It can’t seamlessly transition between forming an electric field and destructive discharge, giving enemies a chance to escape with the Substitution Technique." Dissatisfaction appeared on Allen’s face.
He had originally hoped to take advantage of this exchange and see whether he could find some inspiration in Kakashi’s Chidori.
But now, it seemed that their research approaches had never been on the same track to begin with.
"Well, don’t be so dissatisfied. Your Thunderbird is already terrifying enough. Even I need to focus with everything I have when dealing with it, or I’ll be killed instantly," Kakashi said with a smile, trying to comfort him.
After understanding the principles behind Thunderbird, he realized that his own Chidori still had room for improvement.
While the two were talking, the camp commander, Shikaku Nara, walked in from outside and said in a relaxed tone, "The mutual probing is finally over! The Stone Ninja have agreed to negotiations! A week from now, the Third Hokage and the Third Tsuchikage will hold a meeting in the Land of Grass. If nothing unexpected happens, they should withdraw from the Land of Grass, while we support the establishment of a new Grass Ninja Village as a buffer zone between the two great nations."
"So there won’t be any more fighting between ninjas, right?" Allen asked, a faint trace of disappointment in his voice.
Although he had long known this would be the outcome, he still could not help looking forward to the Land of Earth and the Land of Fire going to war in full force.
When that time came, all of Iwagakure would become his prey.
"Hmm! It’s over! Given your outstanding performance, I imagine your name will soon spread throughout the ninja world. Who would have thought that the kid who was covered in wounds and nearly died back then would become the village’s hero now?" Shikaku Nara said with a soft sigh.
"Once we return to the village, he should be promoted to Chunin or Jonin, right? After all, killing Huang Tu isn’t something just anyone can do!" Kakashi asked about Konoha’s internal situation as well.
Shikaku Nara lightly shook his head. "I don’t know! The orders this time didn’t include any arrangements for him. I imagine the Third Hokage has his own plans."
The moment Kakashi heard that, a trace of wariness flashed through his eyes. He immediately turned around and warned, "Don’t go out lately! Stay in the camp obediently! Understood?"
"Why?" Allen blinked, putting on an innocent expression.
"Because I think the Stone Ninja may not be willing to swallow this humiliation. They may try to make a move against you before the negotiations," Kakashi explained, half-truthfully.
He understood that the Third Hokage, that sinister and cunning old man, was very likely planning to make some shady deal with the enemy again.
But he could not say that outright, or it would affect Allen’s trust and loyalty toward the village.
"If they really dare to do that, I guarantee that whoever makes a move will never return." Allen curled his lips into a smile, speaking with a double meaning.
He was not one of those idiots brainwashed by the so-called Will of Fire!
Nor would he sacrifice himself for the interests of those in power!
If the Third Hokage truly dared to do such a thing, he would not mind cutting off Hiruzen Sarutobi’s head in front of everyone and sending it to the Underground Bounty Brokerage in the most humiliating manner possible in exchange for a large bounty.
Allen had no particular inclination toward any of the major ninja villages in this world. Nor did he feel any goodwill toward Konoha Village simply because it received special focus in the anime.
Quite the opposite!
The only reason he was currently in Konoha was because they happened to pick him up while he was unconscious.
If it had been the Cloud Ninja, Stone Ninja, Sand Ninja, or Mist Ninja instead, there would not have been much difference.
Compared to those major nations with mature systems, he was actually more interested in the Sound Ninja founded by Orochimaru and the Akatsuki Organization.
Both organizations were classic examples of strength ruling supreme. Whoever had the bigger fist could speak loudly; whoever had the smaller fist had to stay quiet.
Following Orochimaru would allow him to learn the world’s most advanced biological and human body modification techniques, along with a series of interesting forbidden jutsu such as Impure World Reincarnation. Joining the Akatsuki Organization, meanwhile, would let him come into contact with tailed beasts and the Rinnegan.
No matter how he looked at it, that was a hundred times better than staying in the so-called Five Great Nations to build seniority and accumulate achievements.
