Facing Trigon
There were other people here!?
Hearing Trigon’s words, Raven, who had been in extreme pain, suddenly froze. Without even wiping away her tears, she immediately looked around in alarm, searching in disbelief for an unfamiliar figure.
This was Raven’s own mindscape. At the same time, it was the entrance to a dimensional passage connected to Trigon’s sealed prison. By all rights, no one should have been able to reach this place, and as a master of magic, Raven herself would never allow anyone to enter her mindscape.
That could very well become the spark that released Trigon. Besides, for a master of magic, allowing someone else to invade her mindscape was like handing over the keys to her own home. It would leave her in danger at all times.
But what puzzled Raven was that no matter how she sensed her surroundings, she could not detect any unfamiliar presence. She could not help wondering whether this was another trick her father was playing.
"Father, I don’t know when you became so humorous, but this is my mindscape. Without my permission, no one can enter my body."
"Hehehe, my daughter, you are still too young. Or rather, you still know far too little about these magical energies." Trigon sneered, though anger also rose within him.
No matter what, Raven was his biological daughter. Her body contained his purest Dark Magic, and she was one of his representatives. Someone forcibly intruding into her mindscape was undoubtedly an insult to Raven—and a provocation against him.
Trigon rose to his feet. The chains around his body clanked, and the entire small world began to shake violently with his movement.
Seeing this, Raven was about to reinforce the seal again and restrict her father’s movements when she heard Trigon roar toward the distant forest.
"What is it, little one? Still afraid to show yourself? Perhaps my daughter cannot tell, but you used my demonic aura to conceal your projection. That may fool her, but it cannot escape my eyes. If you do not come out now, I will have to teach you a proper lesson."
Seeing her father shouting at an empty patch of ground, Raven frowned. "Stop it, Father. No matter what you are planning, and no matter what scheme you have, I will never… urgh."
Before Raven could finish, Zhang Ye’s figure gradually emerged. He interrupted her and made her awkwardly swallow the second half of her sentence.
"Sorry. I had planned to show myself after you two finished your conversation, but it seemed you were not going to give me that chance." Zhang Ye smiled and flashed to Raven’s side.
"Y-you, who are you!?" Raven reacted quickly and immediately prepared herself for battle.
Although she did not know who this person was, anyone capable of suddenly breaking into her mindscape was clearly no good person. On top of that, she had never seen him before, and Raven’s hostility continued to rise.
"Calm down, Rachel. I am not your enemy. I believe Lois should have already spoken to Clark." Seeing Raven prepare to attack without another word, apparently intending to seal him here with Trigon, Zhang Ye hurriedly spoke.
Raven frowned slightly at that and scrutinized Zhang Ye from head to toe.
"Y-you are the mage from another world Lois mentioned?"
"Strictly speaking, I am a master of the mystic arts, but whatever. Nice to meet you. My name is Zhang Ye, and my codename is Witch Raven." Zhang Ye shrugged as he introduced himself, then turned to look at Trigon’s enormous body.
"Witch Raven…" Raven froze for a moment.
"Interesting." Trigon did not interrupt Zhang Ye and Raven’s conversation. He had been observing Zhang Ye the entire time, including the energy radiating from him. "I never expected to see a living Dimension Lord in this universe."
"I did not expect to see a high-dimensional demon in person here either," Zhang Ye replied somewhat flippantly.
Trigon’s oppressive presence was especially intense. It was probably related to the Seven Deadly Sins within Zhang Ye’s body. After all, the Seven Deadly Sins were of a lower order than Trigon, and the pressure between superior and subordinate was immense. Zhang Ye could only draw upon the divine realm power of the Kraken to contend with it.
"I noticed you long ago, little one. The demonic aura on you is extremely dense, and it comes from demons of original sin. I thought you were the vessel chosen by the Seven Deadly Sins, but I did not expect that you had devoured them instead."
As expected of Trigon. With a single glance, he had seen Zhang Ye’s condition. He had also noticed the lingering traces of other dimensions on Zhang Ye, though as a Multiverse-level being himself, he did not care about them.
"Tell me, Dimension Lord. Why have you come here?" Trigon narrowed his four eyes and unleashed a terrifying aura, making Zhang Ye’s astral projection flicker incessantly under the pressure.
Feeling that show of force, Zhang Ye barely managed to withstand the intimidation and stabilize his projection enough to keep it intact.
There was no helping it. This was not his home ground. Although Trigon was sealed, his power was still far too great. Zhang Ye had to guard against the other’s dark power infiltrating him while also resisting the pressure he exerted. It was no easy task.
Steadying himself, Zhang Ye raised his head and looked at Trigon. "Didn’t you say it yourself? I am a Dimension Lord, and you are a high-dimensional demon. What else could I have come here for?"
"Oh?"
Trigon pondered for a moment. Then, recalling the code of conduct followed by the local demons, he immediately understood Zhang Ye’s purpose.
"You came to make a deal with me?"
Zhang Ye smiled and nodded, not denying it.
"What do you mean!?"
At that moment, Raven loudly interrupted the exchange between Zhang Ye and Trigon. She stared at Zhang Ye in shock, unable to believe that this man had come to make a deal with her father.
Trigon was a high-dimensional demon, an existence capable of destroying worlds. Raven did not even know what words could describe Zhang Ye’s actions in attempting to bargain with such a terrifying being.
She had already been wary of this man who radiated demonic energy from head to toe. Now, her hostility was even greater.
Trigon had only one goal: breaking free from his seal and escaping. He could not possibly desire anything else. Therefore, no matter what deal Zhang Ye intended to make with him, it could not avoid that point—and that was a condition Raven would never agree to.
"You can’t—"
Zhang Ye lightly snapped his fingers.
Before Raven could finish speaking, her entire body vanished from the mindscape.
After doing all that, Zhang Ye turned to face Trigon directly and smiled. "It would be better if no one else were present for our deal. She has been exhausted for a long time, so let her get some proper sleep. What do you say?"
Silently watching Zhang Ye use strange magical energy to tear open a gap and send Raven’s spiritual body into the Dream World, Trigon did not stop him. Instead, he nodded and said in a deep voice.
"Very well. I am quite curious about this deal you speak of."
