#610
Fierce Battle
One month later, Golden Rice Star in the Milky Way Galaxy.
Golden Rice Star was an agricultural planet that produced a kind of golden rice, famous throughout the galaxy for its delicious taste and rich nutrition. Because the planet belonged to the Kree Empire, one of the Three Great Empires, it had always been peaceful. Even the Ravagers dared not come here.
Unfortunately, that peace was shattered today—the Earth Marauder Group, recently infamous across the galaxy, had paid them a visit.
"Crouch down with your hands on your heads. Our Earth Marauder Group has principles: we only rob people, we don’t kill them. If reporters come to interview you, remember to give us a good review."
Loki carried an Energy Gun over his shoulder and spoke arrogantly. The Farmers obediently crouched on the ground, not daring to resist in the slightest. After all, the Earth Marauder Group had come.
Over the past month, the Earth Marauder Group had repeatedly raided agricultural planets. The Kree Empire was deeply dissatisfied and sent a fleet to stop them, only to get beaten like dogs.
Even more astonishingly, not a single member of the Kree Fleet had died. In other words, the gap in strength between the two sides was enormous.
Seeing that they were no match, the major empires chose to sacrifice wealth for peace. After all, it was only food.
The Farmers’ obedience pleased Loki. He waved his hand and shouted to the Super Heroes, "Hurry up and load the grain. Move faster. Those bastards might show up at any time."
"Alright."
A group of masked people wrapped up from head to toe nodded and rushed toward the granaries at top speed. They used Pym Particles to shrink the granaries and put them into specially made bags.
That was right, they packed up the entire granaries. The people of Earth were relying on this food to survive.
Drax, dressed as usual, yawned and asked in confusion, "Quill, I really don’t understand why you have to wrap yourselves up like that. Aren’t you hot?"
"Shut up. Don’t call me by name. It’d be humiliating if word got out."
Star-Lord cursed, and the other Super Heroes nodded in agreement. Carol especially wished she could turn herself into an animal so no one would recognize her.
Dignified Super Heroes had actually become the Earth Marauder Group. Was it the collapse of morality, or the distortion of human nature?
"Those empires already know who we are."
Drax pulled out a newspaper and said, "The Galactic Daily even specifically named our Guardians of the Galaxy. Oh, and it says Xandar is considering firing us."
Rocket cursed, "I told you Xandarians were a bunch of bastards. Well, this is great. We’re only temporary workers, so we won’t even get compensation if we’re fired."
"Weren’t we recognized because you refused to wear a mask, Drax?"
Star-Lord snapped. This time, they had truly humiliated themselves. Drax said with displeasure, "I am open and aboveboard. Why should I become a rat like you? Besides, my chest is sensitive. I can’t wear clothes."
Everyone was furious at that. You’re the rat. Your whole family is made of rats.
Only the Lokis did not care. They laughed heartily and even held scripts for the Farmers to memorize lines praising them—for when reporters came to interview them.
The Lokis never cared about notoriety. They only cared about being unknown.
Just as the Super Heroes were rapidly gathering food, the surrounding granaries suddenly burst into flames.
"Those bastards are here again. Extinguish the flames."
A red glow lit up on Old Tony’s chest. He used the Reality Stone to extinguish every flame around them, then raised his hand and fired a blast at the space ahead.
Several figures abruptly appeared in what had been empty space. They were S Makkari, S Ikaris, and the others. S Ikaris grinned viciously and raised his hand, firing a crimson beam that blocked the Pulse Cannon.
Then S Ikaris’s entire body shone with dazzling red light, illuminating the surroundings like the sun. The grass and granaries burst into raging flames once more.
"I hate you most of all, you bastard! Don’t you know food can’t be wasted?"
Thor charged over in fury, swinging Stormbreaker viciously at S Ikaris. S Ikaris flew backward while continuously firing lasers at Thor.
Thor dodged or blocked the attacks as he pursued S Ikaris with all his might. S Ikaris did not care, fleeing while burning the food around him. Their goal was not to defeat the Super Heroes, but to keep them from obtaining food.
"Iron Man, let’s race again."
S Makkari cheered and darted away into the distance. Old Tony helplessly chased after her—if he did not, S Makkari would attack the others. With her speed and spatial abilities, the others would find it difficult to defend against her.
"Captain Marvel Carol, come out and fight."
S Gilgamesh clenched his fists and shouted. Captain Marvel rushed over and punched S Gilgamesh flying, roaring at the same time, "I’m not Carol. I’m here specifically to beat you up."
Captain Marvel was extremely unwilling to take part in robbery, but she had no choice. Only she could contend with S Gilgamesh’s terrifying brute strength.
"You don’t even dare admit your own name. How pathetic."
S Gilgamesh smiled disdainfully and threw a punch that warped space toward Captain Marvel’s chest. Though Captain Marvel could not dodge in time, she had long prepared "returning the other’s way back to them," absorbing most of S Gilgamesh’s punch force.
Then Captain Marvel shouted and hurled a fist that twisted space toward S Gilgamesh’s head—every bit of power in that punch came from S Gilgamesh himself.
S Gilgamesh accelerated time to evade it. Carol’s fist shattered space, and spatial cracks spread madly in every direction. Where those cracks swept across the ground, a massive canyon immediately appeared.
"That move again. I’ll definitely break through your defense."
S Gilgamesh was about to attack again when green light enveloped him, canceling his time acceleration.
"I hate the Sorcerer Supreme."
S Gilgamesh cursed. Captain Marvel rushed in front of him in a blaze of brilliant light, launching a rapid barrage of punches as she shouted, "I hate that guy too, but that doesn’t stop me from beating you up."
"Let’s see who beats up whom."
S Gilgamesh wasted no words and engaged Captain Marvel in a brutal fistfight. The surrounding space shattered continuously, turning into a Space Storm that successively erased the land and mountains below.
The Farmers trembled. The people up there were far too terrifying, even more terrifying than the Kree Empire’s main battleships! "Don’t worry, you’ll be fine, because we’ll protect you."
Loki smiled. "Those Super Heroes assigned us this job, and we’re more than happy to do it."
"That’s right, we’re more than happy to."
The Lokis laughed heartily and led the Farmers to a safe place. Of course they were happy with work that let them slack off while keeping them safe.
The Farmers were dumbfounded. The robbers had actually assigned people specifically to protect them? Were these really robbers? At the same time, Tony, Steve, Falcon, Winter Soldier, Rhodey, and the other Super Heroes wearing Vibranium armor fixed their eyes on S Kingo. Tony said, "This time, let’s compare whose firepower is stronger."
"Without that Sorcerer Supreme using Time Magic, killing you would be easier than killing a dog."
S Kingo smiled disdainfully. Then he waved both hands, and Cosmic Energy transformed into hundreds of light beams that blasted toward Tony. The void shook continuously under such terrifying firepower, preventing Tony from using Teleportation at all.
Tony had not planned to use Teleportation. He shouted, and countless gun barrels emerged from his armor. Then innumerable lasers howled forth, detonating the beams in the air one after another. It was as if hundreds of suns had lit up in the sky, leaving everything blindingly white.
S Kingo was about to continue attacking when Falcon, Winter Soldier, and Rhodey flew in from the right and fired lasers at him simultaneously. S Kingo was somewhat annoyed. He lifted his five fingers, firing five enormous golden beams toward the three of them.
Steve appeared in time and blocked the five golden beams with his shield. Then he hurled his hammer forcefully at S Kingo. S Kingo hurriedly dodged, and Tony’s group of four attacked Kingo at the same time.
"I hate you bastards."
S Kingo roared as Cosmic Energy transformed into countless light beams that blasted toward Tony and the others. His tactic was simple: bombard them without stopping until they were completely destroyed.
Everyone was experienced. Their Vibranium armor fired lasers to detonate the beams, while Steve used his shield to block every one that slipped through.
Boom, boom, boom. S Kingo’s bombardment caused the ground to shake continuously and even cave in. The Farmers were horrified. Was this going to blow up the entire planet?
"Get used to it. It’s not the first time something like this has happened."
The Lokis were utterly calm. Over the past month, they had fought the strongest Eternals several times. Overall, neither side had gained the upper hand.
The strongest Eternals were powerful, but the Super Heroes were no pushovers either. Old Tony, Thor, and Captain Marvel could all fight Ancient Gods. Under their leadership, the Super Heroes successfully blocked the strongest Eternals’ attacks.
Seeing that they could not eliminate the Super Heroes, the strongest Eternals changed tactics and began destroying food. This prevented the Super Heroes from fully resolving the food crisis.
They could not resolve it completely, but with the help of Pym Particles, the Super Heroes managed to seize some food each time. If not for that, Earth would have collapsed long ago.
Overall, the two sides were locked in a stalemate.
"It may not be the first time for you, but it is for us."
The Farmers grumbled inwardly. In the war between Earth and Thanos, the agricultural planets suffered the greatest losses. Every time they finished fighting, the planets became ruins. That was also why the major empires refused to get involved.
Neither side could afford to be offended.
While exchanging fire with S Kingo, Tony complained to Steve, "I know I’ve said this before, but Captain, your shield really isn’t scientific. Why do attacks automatically crash into your shield?"
Steve said irritably, "You should focus on your Anti-Iron Man Armor instead. How long has it been? Why haven’t you finished it yet? You’re practically becoming a secondary character now."
"Nonsense! Tony Stark will always be the protagonist."
Tony shouted. The next moment, a golden beam curved through the air and exploded against his Vibranium armor with a boom, sending Tony flying.
"Just like Blood God said, you’re either getting slapped in the face or on the way to getting slapped in the face."
Steve shook his head and rushed over to block the other golden beams for Tony. Compared to a month ago, his control over his power had clearly risen to another level.
That showed Steve was constantly growing. Having loaded the Creator God CPU, his potential was limitless. The same was true for the others.
Meanwhile, Dr. Banner was joining forces with Strange against S Druig. Strange said, "With my magic here, don’t even think about controlling anyone."
"The Sorcerer Supreme truly is the Sorcerer Supreme. Not only did you use Time Magic to negate our acceleration, you also placed a Time Loop on everyone."
S Druig looked at Strange, his eyes full of admiration. "If I’m not mistaken, you’ve already comprehended the Time Concept, haven’t you?"
"That’s right. I’m only one step away from becoming an Ancient God."
Strange did not deny it. The one who had benefited most from loading the Creator God CPU was not Steve, who had received special treatment, but Strange, because he and Wang Bert were fellow disciples.
Wang Bert was proficient in Kamar-Taj magic. With his CPU’s help, Strange’s magical cultivation had soared like a rocket. After all, he was a true genius.
"Very good. Killing you at a time like this will definitely be interesting."
S Druig grinned and shouted, "Time, I command you to reverse."
The surrounding time immediately began to reverse. Strange shouted to Dr. Banner, "Protect me. I need to focus all my strength on casting magic."
After saying that, a miniature Time Stone appeared on Strange’s chest. Then the Time Stone transformed into a rapidly spinning clock, contending against S Druig’s power as the surrounding time quickly stabilized.
This was an imitation Time Stone created by Old Tony through extracting the Time Stone’s energy. It could only be used once—Old Tony had been conducting experiments in this area all along. The gemstone avatar that had injured Thanos earlier was one of the finished products.
"The Time Stone again. Disgusting."
S Druig snorted, and countless phantoms appeared around him, attacking Strange. Strange created countless phantoms to counterattack. The two fought desperately on the River of Time, while the time around them changed without end, bizarre to the extreme.
"It’s only because it’s me. If it were anyone else, the chaotic time around us would have killed them long ago."
Dr. Banner shook his head, looking rather depressed. In the past, when had he ever not been the main force in battle? Yet now he had become a guard. It was truly humiliating.
But there was nothing he could do. Hulk’s power came from anger, while Dr. Banner was rarely angry. This kept his strength at Hulk’s lower limit.
Dr. Banner thought to himself, There must be another way to grow stronger. My path shouldn’t be that of an angry beast. I’m a man with several doctoral degrees.
Besides these powerhouses exchanging blows, Black Widow and the others were not idle either. They were fighting Ravagers piloting spaceships.
That was right, Ravagers—the Ravagers subdued by S Gilgamesh. They appeared every time, their goal being to tie down the Super Heroes and stop them from collecting food.
To be honest, the Ravagers did not want to do this. Not only did they receive no pay, their lives were in danger. The problem was that they had no choice.
Any Ravager who refused to obey had been killed by S Gilgamesh.
"These damned Ravagers. One day, I’m going to wipe every last one of them out."
Ant-Man cursed as he clung to a spaceship and installed bombs. Wasp said, "I hate violence, but I really like what you just said."
"Hey, no public displays of affection on the battlefield."
Rocket cursed while controlling a spaceship and firing wildly. Soon, an Energy Gun from its ship blew up a spaceship ahead. It laughed loudly. Sure enough, it was the strongest.
In the sky, Super Heroes battled spaceships. On the ground, Super Heroes battled Ancient Gods. The entire agricultural planet was exceptionally lively. Countless mountains collapsed, countless rivers were cut off, countless stretches of ground cracked apart—it was as though the end of the world had arrived.
