First Clash
"It was astonishing that a remote, backward planetary civilization like this could produce a warrior like you. The wonders of the universe truly were incredible."
Seated upon his floating throne, Thanos spoke in quiet admiration. He rose to his feet and stopped the Black Order from attacking. An opponent who possessed an Infinity Stone was worthy of his personal attention.
Golden lightning descended from the heavens. The Sentinel’s intense fighting spirit gradually calmed, for the Cosmic Overlord was no ordinary opponent like those he had faced before.
Thanos, leader of the Black Order, descendant of the Eternals, survivor of Titan—a terrifying existence that struck fear into countless planetary civilizations, a symbol of death and destruction throughout the vast universe.
"Do you always spout this much nonsense before a fight?" Sean said coldly.
Beneath the Sentinel Armor, his aura and energy continued to build and rise, like a volcano on the verge of eruption, awaiting the moment it could unleash its full power.
"Haha, what an interesting human. I’m afraid that if I strike with all my strength, you won’t be able to stand there and speak to me anymore."
Thanos stepped down from the ancient, imposing floating throne. His enormous body stood tall in the void like a mountain stretching across the heavens, radiating overwhelming pressure.
The Cosmic Overlord’s metal gauntlet slowly opened, then clenched. Violent energy erupted like a tidal wave. The Sentinel’s heart tightened as thick beams shot from his palms, scorching winds sweeping across the sky. The Leviathans drifting along their path were instantly sliced in two.
Two incomparably vast energies formed enormous waves, then collided violently in the void. The brilliant golden torrent resembled the blazing radiance released by a star, while Thanos unleashed the frigid current he had been building for so long. It surged like a terrifying black hole formed after space collapsed and planets crumbled, exuding an endless aura of death. Once dragged into it, one would fall into eternal darkness.
Their powers crashed like monstrous tsunamis, sweeping across everything with thunderous force. The boundless pressure even overwhelmed the slaughter on the battlefield. Everyone looked up at those two terrifying beings beyond comprehension. One was like a rising golden sun, erupting with scorching brilliance; the other was a cold, lifeless abyssal black hole, devouring all life and hope.
When their powers collided, bustling Asgard suddenly fell silent. Not the slightest sound could be heard, as though the world had stopped and time had frozen.
Yet amid that soundless stillness, the stable world began to collapse. Light twisted and shifted. Like a building caught in a horrific storm, the entire structure slowly fell apart. Black cracks widened, evolving into miniature black holes, and all matter was annihilated and shattered!
The surging blast wave spread in every direction like a flood bursting through a broken dam. The unfortunate Chitauri below had no time to react before they vanished into nothingness. The rampaging energy tide completely erased all traces of life.
Even the incomparably sturdy barrier of space could not withstand such fierce external pressure. Like a fragile mirror, it shattered with a bang. The roiling, violent energy, like a howling storm, ground every tiny piece of matter within its reach into chaotic nothingness.
Sean, standing in the void, was like a cannonball launched at full force. He transformed into a fierce streak and slammed heavily into Asgard’s ruined city. The hard ground was torn open by a deep fissure, and immense inertia dragged him onward, sending his upright body crashing through one building after another until he regained control and steadied himself.
As for the Cosmic Overlord, he remained firmly standing in the void. Only the floating throne behind him had vanished completely, as though it had never existed.
The Black Order’s capable subordinates all retreated from the dangerous battlefield. The shockwaves from the clash alone brimmed with terrifying destructive power.
"Are you still confident that you can win?"
Thanos’s deep voice echoed across the heavens. The burly purple figure instantly became the focus of the entire world.
Whether Asgardian warriors or Earthlings watching this earth-shaking battle through their screens, all silently prayed in their hearts that the one called the "Sentinel" would emerge victorious.
At this moment, he had become Asgard’s last line of defense—or rather, the last line of defense for the Nine Realms.
"No—" A dull voice rang out through the faceplate. "I’m even more certain than before!"
The second clash arrived!
The Sentinel crossed space in an instant, tearing out a piercing sonic boom. Hurricane-like air currents churned around him as his fist, wreathed in golden flames, stirred a terrifying energy tide that completely engulfed the powerful, burly purple figure.
"The courage of the ignorant," Thanos commented.
The Cosmic Overlord raised an arm. Powerful fluctuations burst from his metal gauntlet, as though a celestial body had collapsed. The terrifying force caused space itself to cave in.
In the next instant, he met the Sentinel’s attack head-on. The blinding light nearly eclipsed the radiance of the stars, like a supernova eruption. Destructive energy formed rings of transparent ripples, and amid a deafening roar like thunder and lightning, vast clouds of dust rose like a mushroom cloud!
Within the violent storm, the Bifrost connecting the Nine Realms collapsed and broke apart, triggering astronomical tides like roaring mountains and crashing seas. Everyone standing upon it desperately tried to flee, seeking to escape this terrifying natural disaster that seemed like the end of the world.
Endless pressure poured down from the skies. Whether the Chitauri army swarming like ants or the fierce Asgardian warriors, all became insignificant scenery beneath this colossal battle.
The rampaging tidal wave of energy was nearly enough to destroy all of Asgard. The world’s structure and laws gradually collapsed. The golden Sentinel and the Cosmic Overlord, standing high in the sky, could unleash violent fluctuations that warped space with every gesture. It was simply beyond imagination.
"Your power goes far beyond this. Unfortunately, only one person can possess the Infinity Stones."
Thanos’s voice boomed like thunder, echoing through Sean’s mental world. This was not merely a contest of power, but a battle of minds. The two were like evenly matched opponents, constantly exhausting every method to build their own advantage and secure the final victory.
A fanatical yet frigid aura, like an enormous celestial body reaching the pinnacle of its brilliance before suddenly nearing the end of its life, collapsed and contracted into a colossal black hole. Even one’s spiritual will would be swallowed within. The endless abyss of darkness expanded, drowning that dazzling, pure golden sun.
"I think so too."
Sean responded. This infamous Cosmic Overlord truly was powerful enough to inspire despair, but that could not extinguish the fighting spirit in his heart. Instead, it made him even more determined to seize the fruit of victory.
After an unimaginably long path strewn with thorns, the end was finally close in sight. Sean only wanted to give everything he had to win the future!
The golden torrent surged onward, releasing billions of rays of light as unparalleled destructive power erupted! Like a lava volcano that had accumulated force for tens of millions of years, its terrifying, scorching energy raised massive shockwaves like roaring mountains and crashing seas!
A fierce storm swept across Asgard, and blinding flashes burst forth one after another. This land, peaceful for a thousand years, was like a boat tossed upon raging waves—teetering on the brink, ready to capsize at any moment!
"If I lacked the courage to risk everything, I wouldn’t be standing here."
The Sentinel completely transformed into a stellar body, radiating golden light outward. Thanos, too, refused to yield. Deep, frigid energy fluctuations surged across his powerful purple body. The air trembled without pause, releasing dense humming sounds, while tiny cracks spread through space like fractures across a mirror.
