Fullbring, Heart-Severing Sword (3K)

Bai Cangshu looked at the upper half of the woman in his hand, lifting her head so she faced him.

He had not seen a kill notification.

This woman clearly possessed some kind of regenerative ability as well, but unfortunately…

Bai Cangshu lightly tapped the woman’s forehead as Myriad Death Intent surged within him.

Hirano descended from the air and staggered back two steps, fear already showing on his face.

The rumors had been right. Mercenary Tao really was a monster with exceptional combat power. Melisandre and he were no match for him at all…

If Shiloh had not intervened, he probably would have been severely wounded in an instant as well.

And Shiloh…

A chill ran through Hirano’s heart.

"Tut, how heartless. Are you the type who deliberately puts on airs and sends your teammates to probe the enemy’s combat capabilities?"

Pfft!

Just as red light began to rise from Melisandre’s body, Myriad Death Intent erupted from Bai Cangshu’s hand. He flicked his finger, and a crisp knock rang out against her skull.

The red light instantly dispersed.

You have killed Reincarnator BV67432988
You have killed a Reincarnator in a team survival mode world. This kill cannot generate a Scarlet Drop Card.
Due to the effect of Omen of the Evil God: Cocoon of Greed, this kill grants Karma Points x1, forcibly generates a Scarlet Drop Card, and increases rewards by 50%.

Shiloh exhaled a breath of foul air as he watched the blessing of Lord of Light, R’hllor fade from Melisandre’s body. The Space Panel notifications appeared at that moment as well.

His teammate had been taken from him once again.

He raised his head and sighed. His voice seemed pained, yet pleased.

"Mercenary Tao, you possess an instant-death ability. No wonder you could kill someone like Millennium Worm…"

He opened his eyes again. Intense Reishi gathered within them until his eyes seemed to turn silver-white.

"But you got one thing wrong. I’m not some cold and heartless man. On the contrary, I cherish my teammates. No, I love them…"

The man’s tone drifted as the Spiritual Pressure around him grew increasingly intense. Even though Loka and the others had already retreated several hundred meters, they still felt unwell. It was as though a massive boulder weighed upon their hearts, leaving them unable to breathe.

"I don’t merely see them as teammates. I see them as friends, family, lovers…"

Bai Cangshu watched the white-suited man, whose mental state had clearly become abnormal, and curled his lips into a smile. In this Space, overly serious ordinary people were mostly mediocre. It was often lunatics like this, with something wrong in their heads, who could carve out unusual paths.

Shiloh’s voice rose and fell as though he were reciting something, speaking of his "love" for his teammates. Hirano, who had already backed away and yielded the main battlefield, suddenly felt a wave of nausea rise within him.

His instincts were sharp. Although Shiloh did not usually treat him badly, and would even save him during missions, he was even Melisandre’s bed partner.

But…

Whenever they encountered a powerful enemy, Hirano always had a strange feeling. Shiloh seemed to remain outside the battlefield from beginning to end.

Although he always struck first and used Kidō to save them at critical moments, Hirano did not dare place his hopes on Shiloh.

Despite having a Title-level Reincarnator, Team 5569 had not fixed its team name as something with special meaning, instead retaining this number because its personnel were extremely unstable.

Hirano had joined the team five missions ago. Melisandre might have joined one or two mission worlds before him.

Yet now, Melisandre had been killed right in front of Shiloh.

Shiloh slowly drew the black katana at his waist. Reishi continuously manifested along the blade.

Shiloh raised the blade upright between his brows.

"Because of love, there is pain."

"Because one possesses, one loses."

"Therefore, draw the blade…"

Intense Spiritual Pressure flared from the black katana. In a single instant, the blade in Shiloh’s hand seemed to transform into a blue-white Sword of Light.

"Tut, not a Zanpakutō. And here I was looking forward to seeing a Zanpakutō release…"

Bai Cangshu’s lips curved downward, and his interested expression turned indifferent.

Red Dust was bound in midair by Tatsumaki’s telekinesis. When Bai Cangshu brutally stopped the vehicle, he spun several times before being tossed aside along with it.

He could only use the corner of his eye to observe the battlefield without triggering Tatsumaki’s restraint.

On the main battlefield, it was undoubtedly a clash between Mercenary Tao and Shiloh, the Soul Arts Master. Shiloh most likely possessed some kind of Fullbring. According to Chaos’ End’s intelligence, it was probably some troublesome rule-based ability.

Red Dust hated fighting opponents like that. Either they were killed by him before they could use their abilities, or their disgusting abilities made it difficult for him to fight freely.

The battlefield on the other side, however, was completely silent. The translucent Sela continuously unleashed telekinetic blasts, summoned whirlwinds, enhanced his muscles, and used other psychic powers.

Yet no matter how one looked at it, he was simply bombarding empty air.

The Heart Demon’s abilities were bizarre. Red Dust did not know exactly what they were, only that even most Reincarnators skilled at perception found it difficult to detect the Heart Demon’s traces unless he took the initiative to reveal himself.

Judging from the Heart Demon’s past actions, he most likely possessed some kind of rule-based ability as well, one related to various curses.

Red Dust watched Sela continuously bombard the air while moving farther and farther from the battlefield. He knew this "mass-produced" Title-level Reincarnator was afraid and preparing to flee.

But in this kind of battle, once fear arose, the fight was basically already over.

Sure enough, in the next moment, Sela slowly deactivated his invisibility and stood on the asphalt road, his face pale and bluish.

He seemed to have seen something horrifying. His eyes began bulging outward, becoming increasingly pronounced, until they fell directly from their sockets.

He began to howl.

The sight was rather comical.

"Hahaha…"

Red Dust laughed heartily. He could not escape now, but because of Tatsumaki’s restraint, he was not afraid of being attacked either.

Whether he would die was another matter. If anyone attacked him now, Tatsumaki would definitely sense it.

If Tatsumaki, that monster, was dragged into the battle between these Reincarnators, no one would be able to bear the consequences.

Clap, clap, clap.

Crisp applause rang out. Red Dust instinctively wanted to clap as well, only to discover that he could not move at all.

His body stiffened. Ignoring the fact that the restraint would tighten with his movements, he turned to look behind him.

There, a man draped in an expensive overcoat leaned leisurely against the overturned black sedan. Seeing Red Dust turn around, the man revealed a sinister smile.

"Red Dust, I heard you betrayed me and even brought them to look for me…"

The man reached out and tapped Red Dust’s forehead. Red Dust felt as though the spot he had touched had split open, burning with pain.

That was not some ability. It was his own fear…

He had begun to fear him simply because the other man had touched him.

The carefree smile on Red Dust’s face slowly vanished. His expression changed several times before he forcefully turned his head and continued looking around. The telekinesis around him tightened further, and the blood in his body had already begun to circulate poorly.

Yet Red Dust still looked around, searching for the others hiding nearby.

"Red Dust, you’re still the same. Always hiding your little schemes behind that carefree exterior."

"You pretended to join the Chaos Sage, but you actually wanted to kill me and avenge your friend."

"You secretly consumed Reverse Universe but didn’t dare challenge powerful enemies and expose it. You deliberately followed the Flower Immortal’s lead and brought up Mercenary Tao, so I would naturally arrange for you to go."

"And now, you’re pretending to observe the enemy, when you actually want to use this restraint to kill yourself. You’re gambling on Reverse Universe’s third activation, and perhaps hoping Tatsumaki will sense the changes in the restraint, return, and kill me?"

The Sage shook his head. Red Dust’s face had already turned livid. None of his little schemes could escape the Sage’s calculations.

The Sage spread his hand and casually swept it behind him. It was as though a painted scroll had been torn open. The surroundings were not some wilderness road at all. A massive city stood less than ten kilometers from this battlefield.

In the sky, a gigantic black humanoid creature faced Tatsumaki, who radiated green light, from afar. Both seemed to control all space. The city had completely warped, splitting apart from the middle as vast districts rose into the air as if gravity had vanished.

The Sage watched this scene and placed a hand atop Red Dust’s head.

"See? Even Tatsumaki isn’t invincible. Plot Characters are Plot Characters. Reincarnators are the players…"

The Sage’s hand began to tighten. He spoke, his voice seeming to echo through the air.

"I declare that after you die this time, Reverse Universe will no longer have any effect."

Red Dust shuddered, and panic immediately rose in his heart. Had Reverse Universe’s effect been stripped away?

Or was the Sage merely trying to frighten him?

Faced with the Sage, who could alter cognition, Red Dust had no way to grasp any true information.

The amusement in the Sage’s eyes grew deeper. He lightly patted Red Dust’s head and said regretfully,

"What a pity. I was planning to play along with your tale of enduring humiliation and bearing burdens for revenge a little longer~"

Bzzzt!

A massive blue-white blade light flashed.

The Sage sensed the power of that strike as well and turned around.

"Shiloh’s Fullbring can transform his pain into power. He wasn’t lying. He truly loves his teammates in a twisted way. But it is precisely because he loves them that he wants to feel even more deeply the pain of watching those he loves die…"

"This sword can sever all love, joy, and bonds in a person’s heart. Even a beast like Mercenary Tao must have something he cannot let go of, right? Red Dust, before you die, you probably want to see what a beast looks like when it howls too…"

Pfft!

Bai Cangshu transformed into wind and instantly leaped two kilometers away, but Shiloh ignored it and slashed straight down.

"It’s useless, Mercenary Tao. You killed Melisandre. You and this sword… are bound by karma. You can’t dodge it."

Pfft!

Blood instantly sprayed from Bai Cangshu’s chest, followed by a burst of intense pain.

But in the next instant, Bai Cangshu’s muscles tensed. The wound instantly stopped bleeding, flesh buds wriggled, and the injury healed in a moment.

Bai Cangshu frowned, lowered his head to look at his body, then looked at the Space Panel.

It seemed that… he truly had not been affected at all.

"Your sword… what was its effect again?"
