#415
Fusion, New Blood Clan
"Very well. But Death, I won’t thank you, because you’re not helping me. You’re only helping yourself."
Galactus rose to his feet. Every part of his body was operating beyond capacity. He was going to self-destruct, then start over.
"Blood God, why aren’t you running?"
Death smiled smugly. "Once Galactus self-destructs, you’ll definitely die."
"In that case, I have no other choice."
Wang Bert sighed and said, "Galactus, you brought this on yourself. And Death, don’t get too pleased with yourself. I saw this situation coming long ago."
As he spoke, the Blood Spear turned into blood and surged into Galactus’s body, rapidly merging with his tissues.
Galactus was an energy being and had no blood, but now, he did.
"You’re merging with me?"
Galactus looked utterly stunned. "You want to become one with me?"
"That’s right. I’m going to merge with you and settle this once and for all."
Wang Bert’s voice echoed in Galactus’s mind. "Galactus, you forced my hand. I’ll gladly take your body."
Fusion Concept!
"Blood God, what makes you think you can merge with me? How many years have you lived? And how many have I?"
Galactus could not help shaking his head. In his eyes, the Blood God was seeking death. After all, he was a being from the previous universe.
If the two forcibly merged, not only would their bodies fight, but their souls and minds would battle as well. How could Wang Bert, at his age, possibly defeat Galactus? Leaving soul strength aside, Galactus possessed memories spanning tens of billions of years. Pulling out even a tiny fraction of them could turn Wang Bert into an idiot.
"We’ll find out."
Wang Bert sneered. Since he had chosen this method, he naturally had absolute confidence in it.
"Since you’re courting death, I’ll grant your wish."
Galactus spoke. He had been poisoned by Decay Poison, so physically, he was no match for Wang Bert. But in a battle of consciousness, victory was undoubtedly his. Then, he would control the new body.
Two Creator Gods merging into one.
Galactus felt a surge of heat in his heart. If he succeeded, he would become the strongest Creator God, perhaps even powerful enough to challenge the Living Tribunal.
More importantly, he probably would not be so hungry anymore.
With that thought, Galactus stopped wasting words. He closed his eyes and actively merged with Wang Bert. Their consciousnesses instantly blended together.
Death frowned beside them. Under normal circumstances, Wang Bert should have been doomed to lose. After all, he had only lived for a little over twenty years, and his soul had not reached the level of a Creator God.
The problem was that Wang Bert would never deliberately come here to die. There had to be a trick to this.
Death did not know exactly what Wang Bert intended to do, but Death knew one thing clearly: Death could not stand by and watch. Once Wang Bert succeeded, Death would never be able to stop him again, not even by acting personally.
Galactus plus the Blood God—Death’s only option then would be to lie down and let him do whatever he wanted.
After some thought, Death sent consciousness into Galactus’s body. The Living Tribunal did not stop this, merely watching everything expressionlessly.
Space fell silent once more. The Creator Gods all stared at Galactus’s vacant body. None of them knew what would happen next.
Just then, a figure appeared. It was Bald Wang Bert. He sighed. Things had still come to this.
"Galactus, Death, you brought this on yourselves."
Bald Wang Bert snorted and strode toward Galactus. At that moment, four figures blocked his way. They were Galactus’s Four Heralds.
Wang Bert was somewhat surprised. "You want to stop me?"
"I don’t know what help a mere avatar like you can offer the Blood God, but whatever the enemy wants to do is what we must stop."
Stardust, one of the Four Heralds, said solemnly, "In any case, we won’t let you approach Lord Galactus."
Firelord and Tyrant also said, "That’s right. We won’t let you approach Lord Galactus."
Wang Bert looked with interest at the conflicted Silver Surfer and asked, "What about you? Which side are you choosing?"
The three Heralds were stunned and turned together to look at Silver Surfer. Was this guy going to become a traitor?
"Silver Surfer, don’t forget Lord Galactus’s kindness toward you."
Stardust shouted, "If Lord Galactus had not taken pity on you, your planet would have been devoured long ago."
"Lord Galactus has treated me fairly well, though I find this so-called kindness of sparing my planet rather ridiculous."
Silver Surfer shook his head and said, "The problem is, I truly cannot bear to watch Lord Galactus devour planets. Those planets hold countless living beings."
No normal being could tolerate such things. Ever since Silver Surfer regained his emotions, he had lived in guilt. After meeting Susan, that guilt had only grown stronger.
"This is the natural order of the universe. What’s wrong with it? Silver Surfer, don’t let the Blood God deceive you. Join us and deal with the Blood God’s avatar."
Stardust shouted, "Otherwise, once Lord Galactus awakens, both you and your planet will be devoured."
Silver Surfer shuddered, looking deeply hesitant. Wang Bert watched him with interest, waiting to see what he would choose.
In truth, whether Silver Surfer betrayed Galactus did not matter to Wang Bert. The Four Heralds were no match for him. He was merely curious whether Silver Surfer would betray Galactus like he had in the movies.
After a moment, Silver Surfer raised his head and said to Stardust, "I’m sorry. I truly can’t endure it anymore. Now that there’s finally a chance, I want to help the Blood God."
Wang Bert smiled. Introducing Susan to Silver Surfer had not been a waste. What about Reed? Who cared?
"You traitor!"
Stardust flew into a rage and was about to attack Silver Surfer when Wang Bert split into three, suddenly appearing before the three Heralds.
Immediately afterward, the three Wang Berts threw punches at the same time. Their fists transcended time and slammed into the three Heralds. The three cried out miserably and flew backward, vanishing like three shooting stars.
"They’ve all been seriously injured. Go capture them and don’t let them cause trouble."
Wang Bert merged back into one, nodded to Silver Surfer, and walked into Galactus’s body.
Silver Surfer was dumbfounded. According to the script, wasn’t he supposed to fight desperately and send Wang Bert into Galactus’s body? What was with this effortless victory?
What value had his betrayal even had? At the very least, it could leave a good impression on Susan.
Silver Surfer sighed. As he chased after the three Heralds, he took out his Quantum Communicator and texted Susan. Unfortunately, Susan was currently "merging" with Dr. Richards and had no time to read his message.
On the Frontlines battlefield, the fighting still raged intensely. Unlike before, Earth’s side now held the advantage.
The reason was simple: the Blood Clan’s strength had increased dramatically.
"Although I’m a Daywalker and don’t fear sunlight, I’ve never liked it. My body is filled with dark energy. I’m a cold, dark creature."
As Blade unleashed a skyful of blade-light at the demon god, he said to Gorr, "But now, it feels completely different. It’s as if I’ve been purified. My entire body feels refreshed. I even want to go lie in the sun on a beach."
"You have indeed changed."
Gorr glanced at Blade and said, "You’ve transformed from a dark lifeform into a holy one. Your body is filled with positive energy."
Blade was stunned. "A holy creature?"
Gorr explained, "Like the Angels in ancient legends."
"I’m an Angel?"
Blade was a little dumbfounded. He had been a Vampire his whole life, and now he had become an Angel?
Gorr nodded. "Something similar to an Angel. In any case, there is no longer any dark energy in your body. You are no longer a dark creature."
"It’s not just the dark energy. All of our weaknesses have vanished."
Lilith said from the side, "Bloodlust, fear of silver, sunlight, and garlic—all gone. Also, we no longer need blood to survive."
As Tony moved through the battlefield, he asked, "Weren’t Vampire weaknesses cured long ago?"
"It’s different. Before, our genes were merely repaired and our resistance was enhanced. Now, the weaknesses have been completely eliminated. In fact, we are no longer Vampires. We are another kind of creature."
Lilith said, "We could even call ourselves a divine race."
"A divine race?"
Gorr could not help looking over. He specialized in killing divine races.
"It’s just a figure of speech. It means we’re holy and noble. We have no divine power, nor do we need believers."
Gorr said, "That’s good. Otherwise, I could only kill you."
"You’re a lot like the old me."
Blade gave a cool smile, suddenly appeared behind the demon god, and drove his blade viciously through it. Immediately afterward, the demon god’s body shriveled at a visible speed as its blood was devoured by the long blade.
Blade was rather excited. "My blood-draining ability has become much stronger."
"What exactly happened to you? Why does it feel like you evolved?"
Tony asked curiously. As a scientist, his curiosity was incredibly intense.
"We did evolve. We are now the New Blood Clan, a brand-new bloodline race created by Bert Wang, Lord of Blood."
Dracula suddenly said, "We are immortal and ageless, with no weaknesses. Also, we do not need blood to survive. Blood is merely a tool for increasing our strength."
Tony complained, "Really? You’re making me want to become a Vampire."
"Wanting it is useless. The New Blood Clan cannot create descendants. From now on, the New Blood Clan can only produce offspring through reproduction."
Dracula said, "There is no virus in our bodies."
Tony was surprised. "You can’t create descendants? So you’ve completely become a new race?"
Dracula sighed. "That’s right, a new race. This is the gift the Blood God gave us. He truly did not let down our Blood Clan. It was not in vain that I personally appointed him Lord of the Blood Clan."
Everyone looked at Dracula with contempt. You appointed him? Were you sure? Spider-Man complained, "Mr. Dracula, if I remember correctly, weren’t you kneeling on the ground and begging the Blood God to spare you back then?"
"You remember wrong. Not only did I appoint the Blood God as Lord of the Blood Clan, I supported him all the way. Without me, the Blood Clan would never have what it has today. Ah!"
The final cry came because Lilith could no longer listen to him. She kicked Dracula away.
A leopard could not change its spots. Even though the Blood Clan had become the New Blood Clan, Dracula was still the same old Dracula, without the slightest change.
Lilith snorted. "You must show respect to the Lord of Blood. You used to be the Vampire Progenitor, but you aren’t anymore."
Dracula froze for a moment, then nodded. He was no longer the Progenitor because the Blood Clan had become the New Blood Clan.
The New Blood Clan had only one "God"—their race’s creator, the Lord of Blood, Bert Wang.
At this point, the Blood Clan had completely become history. From now on, there would only be the New Blood Clan, a race similar to Angels, and Wang Bert was the "God" of the New Blood Clan.
Setting that aside, the New Blood Clan was far more powerful than before. Through their efforts and those of the Super Heroes, the demon gods gradually began to falter.
It was not that the demon gods were weak, but that the Super Heroes were too strong. More importantly, the Super Heroes would not die.
By now, more than thirty demon gods had fallen, while not a single Super Hero had even been seriously injured. Under such circumstances, it was only natural for the demon gods to fall behind.
Dracula silently gave himself a thumbs-up. MVP, deservedly so.
"Damn it, what are the Ancient Gods doing? Why have we become the main force? Where are they?"
The demon gods shouted in dissatisfaction. This battle should have been led by the Ancient Gods as they swept aside everything, yet not a single Ancient God was here. It was all on them.
Well, it was not entirely true that there were no Ancient Gods. An Ancient God named Seth was being blasted by nuclear bombs and screaming repeatedly, like a fish on a chopping block.
Seth roared, "Just wait! Once Chthon gets out here, I’ll tear you all to pieces!"
"We’ll be waiting."
Doctor Doom turned to Ivan and said, "Ivan, move its body a little. Also, I’ll be using a Hydrogen Bomb for the next attack. It may affect the black hole, so be careful."
"Fine."
Ivan nodded. As a madman, not only did he not mind Doom’s nuclear explosion experiments, he was excited by them. Vodka and explosions truly were a man’s romance.
"I’ll bet you that Seth will beg for mercy within five minutes."
Astros’s voice came from the black hole. "When this guy is doing well, he’s ridiculously arrogant. When he falls on hard times, he has no shame at all. A typical villain."
"Astros, Chthon won’t let you go!"
Seth roared. His only hope now was Chthon. He hoped Chthon would quickly deal with the Blood God’s avatar and come save him.
"Why is Chthon taking so long? Isn’t a mere avatar something he can handle in two or three moves?"
Seth was anxious and somewhat resentful. He had no idea that Chthon’s soul had already been burned away by Wang Bert.
Besides Seth, there was one other person who placed her hopes on Chthon: Hela. Under the combined assault of Hulk and the other three, she desperately held on, waiting for Chthon’s arrival to turn the tide.
I won’t lose. As long as Chthon descends, everything will turn around. I will never lose.
Hela kept shouting in her heart when Chthon’s voice suddenly rang out. "All demon gods, withdraw from the Main Universe immediately."
"Chthon?"
The demon gods were stunned. Seth shouted in alarm, "Chthon, why withdraw? And hurry up and save me! I can’t hold on much longer!"
Zombie Universe Chthon fell silent for a moment, then said, "I lost."
"What? That’s impossible!"
Seth and Hela shouted in disbelief at the same time. Chthon had actually lost to the Blood God’s avatar? How was that possible? It was only a mere avatar! Seth cried in despair, "Chthon, you’re a great demon god! How could you lose to the Blood God’s avatar?"
Astros was equally surprised. "You actually got out alive? That’s not magic!"
