#389
Galacta, Daughter of Galactus
"He isn’t Seth from this universe. He’s Seth from another universe."
Wang Bert shook his head and briefly explained the situation before continuing, "I don’t just have Seth. I also have the Crimson God and the Eye Demon. Together, they’re known as the Three Great Generals."
"Another universe?"
Astros suddenly understood. She sighed. "No wonder the Living Tribunal recognized you as a Creator God. With your strength, if you don’t become a Creator God, how are the rest of us supposed to live?"
Astros had once been somewhat unconvinced by Wang Bert, but now that feeling was completely gone—what a joke. She had no desire to become Wang Bert’s puppet like Seth.
Wang Bert shrugged and said helplessly, "Can’t help it. Who told me to be this powerful? I don’t want it either."
"Will you die if you don’t show off?"
Astros gave him the middle finger and asked, "Blood God, with the Three Great Generals at your disposal, wouldn’t dealing with the Ancient God projections be easy? Why set up so many things?"
"Because the Three Great Generals will be dealing with Galactus alongside me."
Wang Bert said unhappily, "If it weren’t for that bastard Galactus, what would those Ancient God projections even be?"
Astros asked curiously, "That’s true. Blood God, are you confident you can defeat Galactus?"
"Fifty-Fifty."
Wang Bert said, "I don’t have absolute confidence, but I definitely won’t die."
"You can go Fifty-Fifty with Galactus? Really?"
Astros was shocked. Galactus was a true Creator God, while Wang Bert was only an honorary Creator God. The gap between them was enormous.
"I, Wang, have never told a lie in my life."
Wang Bert waved his hand and said, "Enough of that. Let’s train."
Astros asked with interest, "What kind of training?"
"It’s simple. You sneak attack Seth, Seth counters, then he teaches you how to sneak attack him more effectively."
Wang Bert said, "Train like that hundreds of times, and when the real battle comes, you’ll definitely be able to severely injure Seth."
Astros laughed. "Not a bad method, but being your puppet is truly miserable. Not only do they have to obey your orders, they also have to teach others how to severely injure themselves."
Wang Bert stepped forward, pinched Astros’s face, and said, "You should be grateful that you have the Stone of Decay and that your temperament suits my tastes. Otherwise, you’d be just like Seth and the others."
Astros pressed herself against Wang Bert’s body, blinked her large eyes, and asked, "Isn’t it because my looks and figure suit your tastes?"
"Am I that kind of person?"
Wang Bert righteously pushed Astros away and said, "Let’s begin. Once training is over, we’ll discuss that question in detail. Then you’ll find out just how much of a gentleman I am."
"Completely understood."
Astros giggled as she fired a black hole wave at Seth. Seth had been prepared. He opened his serpent maw and swallowed the black hole wave in one bite.
Seth said, "That won’t work. I possess the Devouring Concept. Ordinary attacks can’t hurt me. You must first brew a killer move within your body, then launch a full-force attack at me. Only then can you break through the Black Hole Concept’s defense."
Astros said, "Understood. Uh, why does this training feel a little strange?"
Wang Bert said, "Who cares whether it’s strange? Hurry up and train. I want those three Ancient Gods to remain on Earth forever."
"No problem. I’m actually a little glad I met you early."
Astros smiled. Now that she thought about it, the Crimson God had been smart. He had easily escaped disaster.
"Strange, Doom."
On the Celestial Head, Wang Bert gathered the two men and explained that the Four Ancient Gods were about to attack.
"The Four Ancient Gods?"
Strange drew a sharp breath and said, "I must return to Earth immediately. Wong and the others can’t stop the Four Ancient Gods, even if they’re only projections."
"I’ll go back with you."
Doctor Doom said as well. Though he was neither wholly good nor evil, as an Earthling, he understood very well how important the Defense Net was. No matter what, it had to be defended.
"I’ll return with you."
Wang Bert said, "This time, we’ll team up to defend the Defense Net. Also, Hell and the Dragon World will support us with all their strength."
Strange relaxed upon hearing that, though he also felt somewhat strange—Hell had once been the vanguard of Earth’s invaders, yet now it had become an ally. The twists of fate were truly remarkable.
Doctor Doom looked doubtful. "Can you really handle it?"
Wang Bert shrugged. "Although I have to conceal my strength, I think there shouldn’t be any problem."
Doctor Doom complained, "Why does that sound so unreliable?"
"With the Time Stone, we still have a chance of winning."
After hesitating for a moment, Strange asked, "Blood God, what condition is Master Ancient One in right now?"
"She’s at the point of beating each other’s brains out."
Wang Bert said, "Before they decide a victor, it’s basically impossible for them to come reinforce us. Unless, of course, Earth’s Defense Net is truly about to break."
"I understand."
Strange said with a resolute expression, "I am the Sorcerer Supreme. I will protect the Defense Net and Earth."
"That’s the spirit."
Wang Bert nodded in satisfaction. The Super Heroes were gradually maturing. After this battle, perhaps he could retire and devote himself to chasing girls.
No, there was still Mutant Planet. In a sense, it was even more troublesome than the insect race—the insect race only needed to be wiped out. It didn’t require much thought.
Once the insect race and Death were dealt with, it would be the mutants’ turn.
A parallel universe.
"Despicable."
Galactus, who had once seemed capable of swallowing the heavens and earth, cursed weakly. His body had visibly decayed, and it even emitted a foul odor.
Concept of Decay—Godfall.
"There’s no such thing as despicable or not in battle. You’re hundreds of billions of years old, fighting a young man in his twenties. Tell me, who’s more despicable?"
The Dragon Soul Clone sneered. Then, he drew upon Space Power, the power of all living beings’ blood, and Cosmic Energy, gathering them above himself into a small sphere whose internal space constantly expanded.
"I’ll kill you!"
Unable to outargue Wang Bert, Galactus roared and used the Concept of Power to summon endless strength into his fist. Then, he punched at Wang Bert. The surrounding spacetime entirely collapsed, even forming chaos.
That wasn’t all. Galactus suddenly clenched his other hand, and a mass of Black Light filled with planets appeared beneath Wang Bert’s feet. Immediately afterward, an immense suction force erupted from within the Black Light, attempting to drag Wang Bert inside.
Once Wang Bert fell into the Black Light, it would collapse and transform into a devouring black hole that would annihilate him.
"Still the same old tricks. Nothing new."
Wang Bert snorted and used the Time Concept to delay Galactus’s time—although Galactus could shatter time, he did not possess the Time Concept.
Then, Wang Bert merged with the sphere above him. The sphere abruptly transformed into a golden Dragon God larger than a planet, which crushed the Black Light and the planets beneath it with a single claw.
Afterward, the Dragon God opened its enormous mouth. Space Power, blood power, and Cosmic Energy gathered into a blood-red beam tens of thousands of meters wide, shattering spacetime as it blasted toward Galactus with world-destroying force.
Galactus showed no fear. His fist slammed fiercely into the blood-red beam. The moment the two collided, the entire universe trembled. Even the slight shockwaves that leaked out shattered vast stretches of surrounding space, and several planets were instantly reduced to nothingness.
The blood-red beam was powerful, but Galactus’s fist was even stronger. It surged forward with unstoppable force, destroying great amounts of blood-red light.
Seeing this, Wang Bert was delighted rather than alarm. "Galactus, you’re weakening."
The speed of Galactus’s advancing fist was continuously slowing.
Galactus gritted his teeth. If he had not been struck by the Concept of Decay, this blood-red beam would never have been able to stop him. The problem was that he had been struck. His current power was less than sixty percent of what it had been at his peak.
"Galactus, fall!"
Wang Bert shouted. Two pitch-black rays shot from his eyes toward Galactus, one filled with chaos, the other filled with evil.
Galactus hurriedly raised his left hand to defend himself, but the two black rays directly merged into his palm.
The energy within Galactus immediately became chaotic. The Concept of Decay took the opportunity to erupt, and Galactus could not help opening his mouth and vomiting a mouthful of foul-smelling blood.
Wang Bert took the opportunity to increase his power. The blood-red beam gradually wore away Galactus’s strength. Then, the beam violently exploded, and a streak of blood-red light struck Galactus, blasting a huge hole straight through his chest.
Galactus staggered two steps back and looked down at his chest in disbelief, only to see the space behind him through the hole. He gave a miserable laugh and said weakly, "Blood God, you won."
"That’s right. I won. After you killed me thousands of times, I finally won."
Wang Bert returned to human form, flew before Galactus, and said, "There was some coincidence and luck involved this time, but a win is a win. I’m now confident I can deal with the Galactus from my universe. Galactus, thank you for your help."
"Looks like the other me will be unlucky."
Galactus gave a bitter smile and said, "Can you spare me? I’m not afraid of death, but if I die, the universe will perish."
"Sorry, I can’t."
Wang Bert shook his head. "It’s not because I hold a grudge against you. I want to know what will happen after killing you. If the consequences aren’t too severe, I’ll kill the version of you in my universe. To be honest, I really hate him."
"Then I have nothing more to say."
Galactus sighed, closed his eyes, and waited for death. Wang Bert gathered energy and was about to strike when dense rays of light shot toward him from afar.
Wang Bert casually waved a hand. Space rippled like water and swallowed all the rays. Then he turned his head and discovered five people rushing toward them at full speed.
Four of them were Galactus’s Four Heralds, while the fifth was a black-haired girl wearing a tall purple crown and purple clothing.
When Wang Bert saw the black-haired girl, he could not help but freeze. Although she wore an eyepatch, she looked almost exactly like Lina—just older, with a better figure and more provocative attire.
"Let go of my father, or I won’t let you off!"
The black-haired girl shouted anxiously while continuously firing Cosmic Energy at Wang Bert.
"Father?"
Wang Bert was a little surprised. Thinking of a possibility, he was dumbfounded. "Wait, no way?"
"Hold on."
Wang Bert raised his hand, and all surrounding spacetime froze. Then he waved again. The Four Heralds vanished, while the black-haired girl appeared beside Galactus.
Galactus opened his eyes and shouted angrily, "Blood God, what are you trying to do?"
Wang Bert pointed at the black-haired girl and asked, "She’s your daughter?"
Galactus said, "Yes, my daughter, Galacta. This has nothing to do with her."
Galacta looked at Galactus’s wounds and angrily shouted, "Let go of my father, or even if I have to devour this universe, I’ll destroy you."
Wang Bert snapped his fingers, and an image of Lina as a child appeared beside him. Then, Lina transformed into a teenage girl, one who looked extremely similar to Galacta.
Galacta froze at first, then looked at Wang Bert with disgust. "You actually took secret pictures of me? You pervert."
"Shut up. What is that crown? It’s ugly as hell."
Wang Bert waved his hand and erased Galacta’s crown. Then he asked Galactus, "The person in the image is my disciple, Lina. Is she Galacta?"
Galacta shouted unhappily, "Who’s your disciple?"
Galactus was stunned. "Give me some of her aura."
Wang Bert raised a hand, pulled a strand of Lina’s hair from the main universe, and tossed it to Galactus. After sensing it for a moment, Galactus said, "That’s right. She is Galacta."
"So she really is."
Wang Bert curled his lip in displeasure and asked, "Why did you leave Galacta on Earth?"
"Not me. It was the version of me from your universe."
Galactus said, "As for why he did that, I don’t know. When Galacta was young, she couldn’t control her appetite, so I always kept her by my side to teach her."
Galacta blinked. This universe, that universe—what did that mean? Wang Bert said, "Lina doesn’t eat much. Every day, she only eats the equivalent of a few dozen grown men."
"Impossible. That little food is nowhere near enough for Galacta to grow."
Galactus repeatedly shook his head. Galacta said as well, "The equivalent of a few dozen grown men? That doesn’t even count as an appetizer, okay? When I was little, I measured snacks by the ton."
"Tons? Good thing my Lina isn’t like you. Otherwise, my food conglomerate would have gone bankrupt long ago."
Wang Bert complained. Galacta bared her teeth at him in dissatisfaction. Not only had he injured her father, he even dared mock her appetite? Galactus said, "The Galactus and Galacta in your universe are a little abnormal."
Wang Bert thought for a moment and asked, "I told you about my situation before. Do you think Galactus might be coming to see his daughter?"
"Impossible."
Galactus crushed Wang Bert’s fantasy. He said, "I’m a Creator God. Why would I need to travel all that way to see my daughter? His target must be related to Earth."
Galacta said somewhat unhappily, "Whenever my father wants to see me, he just retrieves me from afar. No matter where I am, he brings me back."
Wang Bert frowned. "So this battle is still unavoidable?"
"Most likely. The Galactus of your universe may have made some arrangement on Earth. That’s why he left Galacta there, and why Galacta’s appetite is so small."
Galactus said, "Now is the time for him to harvest it."
"Is that so?"
Wang Bert rubbed his chin and asked, "If I kill Galactus, will Lina have any problems? She has no memories of the past."
Upon hearing this, Galacta bared her fangs and claws at Wang Bert. Wang Bert casually threw a giant honey-glazed dragon ham at her. Galacta’s eyes immediately lit up, and saliva even dripped from her mouth.
Then, regardless of the situation, Galacta opened her mouth and began devouring it in huge bites. Nothing was more important than food.
By the way, how had this dragon leg been made? Why was it so delicious? And why was that bad guy carrying food on him?
