Gifted Mutants (Fourth Update)

How the hell was I supposed to understand that?!

Noah felt bitter inside. The Ancient One had way too much confidence in him, didn’t she?

Noah himself didn’t dare be so sure. If he hadn’t transmigrated and known so much in advance, how the hell would he have noticed that Thor had a problem? Wouldn’t it have been perfectly fine for him to remain a Hammer God?

But now that things had come to this, Noah had no choice. He could only take things one step at a time.

Finding a way to awaken Thor’s true Power of the Thunder God and make him evolve from a Hammer God into a true Thor was neither particularly difficult nor particularly easy.

The simplest method was to just destroy Thor’s hammer, like Hela had.

Then, while beating Thor senseless, he would have to keep attacking him mentally as well. Put simply, he would beat him up while constantly nagging in his ear.

It was the simplest, crudest, and most effective method.

However, Noah felt that he probably couldn’t just crush Thor’s hammer like Hela had.

Noah didn’t know exactly how strong that woman Hela was, but he knew she was definitely no ordinary opponent.

"Forget it. I’ll take it one step at a time."

Unable to think of any good ideas, Noah could only put the matter aside. A Hammer God who hadn’t mastered the Power of the Thunder God yet wasn’t enough to worry him.

Noah had plenty of ways to teach Thor a proper lesson. As for Thor after he truly mastered his own power?

Noah felt that might be rather troublesome. Even if he transformed into a giant dragon, he might not necessarily be able to beat him.

After all, he was someone who had nearly one-shotted Thanos. As a mage, Noah had no desire to get into close combat with such a brute. Just look at what happened to Frigga.

After bidding farewell to Odin and the others, Noah and his group of three returned to Earth and Kamar-Taj under the Ancient One’s guidance.

Honestly, when they returned to Earth, they felt a little unaccustomed to it.

The air quality and magical energy concentration here simply couldn’t compare with Asgard’s.

Still, Noah and the others did not care that much. As comfortable as Asgard was, Earth was their home.

Moreover, their trip to Asgard had brought them unimaginable gains. Aside from Noah, both Ms. Heifen and Wong had gained plenty as well.

Besides befriending Queen Frigga, Ms. Heifen had also received guidance from her.

Ms. Heifen’s magical proficiency was now close to Tier 5. As an ordinary person who had reached this point step by step, she had far exceeded all expectations.

Furthermore, Asgard’s magic system unexpectedly suited Ms. Heifen quite well. She learned that projection-like magic exceptionally quickly.

It could be said that as long as Ms. Heifen did not do anything foolish or provoke terrifying mages, she would basically be in no danger with her mastery of both Kamar-Taj and Asgardian magic.

Wong was much the same. Although he had no interest in Asgard’s magic system, Asgard’s warriors had helped him tremendously.

Wong had always been a traditional Kamar-Taj mage. He was unlike Noah.

Not only was he skilled in Kamar-Taj magic, but he was even more proficient in close combat.

Asgard’s warriors were all experts at melee combat. Quite a few of them were hardened veterans who had survived countless battles. With just a little guidance from them, Wong gained enormous benefits.

Although Wong’s magical proficiency was still around Tier 7, roughly the same as Noah’s—

If they truly came to blows, Noah would be in serious trouble if Wong got close, even taking Noah’s physical strength into account!

"All in all, it was a trip with a bountiful harvest!"

That was the conclusion Noah gave their trip to Asgard. Although the journey had only lasted a year, every one of them had improved tremendously.

That made Noah very happy. There was also something else that pleased him: Charles had come out of Kamar-Taj.

At the Kamar-Taj Magic Award a year ago, both Charles and Jean Grey had earned the chance to enter Kamar-Taj and learn meditation.

A year passed quietly. When Noah encountered the two of them at Kamar-Taj, he was truly startled!

"So you mean your magical energy has already reached Tier 8? And Jean’s magical energy is at Tier 7 too?" Noah asked, the corner of his mouth twitching.

Magical energy level and magical proficiency were different concepts. Magical energy level only referred to how much magical energy a mage had within their body.

Magical proficiency was rated based on a mage’s magical energy, their mastery of magical knowledge, and their combat ability. Beyond that came the examinations for Magus and Archmage.

"Yes. But my magic rating hasn’t reached Tier 8. It seems I still lack a great deal of knowledge." Charles nodded with a smile, without the slightest hint of pride.

"Fine. It seems you really are a natural-born mage." Noah gave a bitter laugh. "Oh, right. My teacher is back. I think he can help you stand again."

"Thank you, Noah." Rather than answer that question, Charles and Jean Grey both bowed solemnly to Noah.

"There’s no need to thank me. You’ve thanked me too many times already. From now on, we’re all members of Ark. The important thing is to manage this organization—this company—properly."

"Of course. I’ve always kept that in mind. And when Jean and I return this time, we’ll begin taking care of some things too. After all, we haven’t properly managed them for a whole year."

"It’s fine, take it slow. Oh, and you can come to my Sanctum anytime you have time. You know my Sanctum has a great many books. I think they’ll help fill the gaps in your magical knowledge and make it easier for you to take next year’s Archmage examination."

"We understand, Noah. Even if you don’t want to hear it, we still have to say it. Thank you."

Watching Charles and Jean Grey leave, Noah sighed helplessly.

Sure enough, Charles and Jean Grey really were natural-born mages!

Both possessed absurdly powerful spiritual strength, and Jean Grey even possessed the Phoenix Force.

The purpose of meditation was to enhance a person’s spiritual strength and use it to resonate with the magical energy within their body.

Since the two of them had such explosively powerful spiritual strength, meditation meant more to them as a way to resonate with their own magical energy. Naturally, it also had the subtle effect of improving their spiritual strength.

But compared to that slight improvement, the growth of their magical energy was far faster!

After all, although Kamar-Taj provided methods for learning meditation, it only offered relatively simple and basic meditation techniques.

It did not fully reveal more advanced methods, much less the meditation technique mastered by the Ancient One, which allowed one to travel beyond the heavens through spiritual strength!

Yet these two had forcibly entered the ranks of high-tier mages using only such basic meditation methods. Even Noah found that potential terrifying.

"I wonder what connection Jean’s Phoenix has with the Dumbledore family’s Phoenix. And I wonder whether she can completely master the Phoenix inside her body. If she learns Dragonborn too, would she have to change her name?"

Noah rubbed his chin, his mind filled with wild thoughts.

Dumbledore’s relationship with Phoenixes was indeed extraordinary, almost as though they were guardian beasts.

Noah felt that if Dumbledore had to choose a magical creature transformation, he would probably choose to become a Phoenix without hesitation.

"In that case, Jean might become a Phoenix, and Dumbledore might become a Phoenix too. Wouldn’t Phoenixes become cheaper and cheaper?"

Noah shook his head. He felt it was better not to keep letting his imagination run wild.

Whether they became Phoenixes had nothing to do with Noah. Even if they wanted to, they would need to conduct further research themselves. After all, Noah had struggled enormously before finally developing the giant dragon form.

Otherwise, he would not have named this magic Dragonborn, because for the time being, only the information for the giant dragon form was complete.

As for the others, never mind whether the information was complete—there was not even the slightest bit of information available.

Noah had no intention of helping with that research either. He planned to leave it to Charles and the others.

After all, there were quite a few gifted Mutants suited to becoming mages.

Not to mention anything else, those who possessed natural abilities, such as frost or flame, would definitely learn the corresponding Elemental Magic faster than ordinary people!

That was purely a matter of talent. There was no envying it.

But accordingly, they might only perform exceptionally well and become especially specialized in one element. Unlike other elemental mages, they could not learn every kind of Elemental Magic.

That was quite fair.

If a fire-element Mutant learned Elemental Magic and somehow perfectly mastered water-element magic, that would be complete nonsense!

You were fire itself. If you added ice to it, the result would naturally be that the ice melted into water, and it might even extinguish the flames!

Noah could fully imagine how miserable the result would be. Having one’s magical energy dissolved would be the least of their problems.

Even dying on the spot would not be much of a surprise. Surviving would already be a blessing from heaven!

"Why am I thinking so much? Having more specialized Elemental Magic users seems pretty good too. As for training them, I can handle it myself, or I can talk to the mages from the York Magical Association. I remember they’ve always wanted to get in touch with me."

Noah had not forgotten the mages of the York Magical Association, nor had he forgotten William Moore.

Noah felt that after returning this time, he could probably make proper contact with them. After all, he had been at the London Sanctum for so long, yet seemed to have had no dealings with the local Magic Organization at all.

"Come to think of it, I did owe them a favor. Although it was a fair trade, I seem to have profited more."
