Give me a red envelope

"Just give a red envelope." Wang Yang blurted out upon hearing this.

"Give a red envelope? Will General Manager Chen like that?" Ji Xiaohui was stunned. General Manager Chen was the big boss of a Group, with an unknown net worth. How could he possibly like receiving a red envelope?

"I've given red envelopes several times before, and I think General Manager Chen's reaction was quite good. I feel that giving a red envelope is the safest option." Wang Yang explained.

Through his previous experiences of giving red envelopes, he could feel that General Manager Chen was satisfied with them. Otherwise, he wouldn't keep providing him with various renovation tasks.

He didn't know why General Manager Chen liked red envelopes so much; a big boss of a Group surely wasn't short of money. The only explanation was that what General Manager Chen liked wasn't the money inside the red envelope, but rather just the red envelope itself.

If that was the case, it made sense. This was the conclusion he had reached after careful consideration, though it was only his conjecture. But one thing was certain: if he gave a red envelope, at the very least, General Manager Chen wouldn't dislike it.

"A red envelope!" Ji Xiaohui looked at Wang Yang, and seeing his serious expression, she couldn't help but believe him. She nodded immediately.

"Okay, then I'll give a red envelope. But how big of a red envelope would be appropriate?"

"Just ten thousand." Wang Yang thought about how the first red envelope he gave General Manager Chen was ten thousand, so Ji Xiaohui should start with ten thousand as well. There would be plenty of opportunities to give gifts in the future, and the amount could be increased slowly then.

"Mm!" Ji Xiaohui nodded and glanced at the time. "It's already noon, let's get ready."

"Okay!" Wang Yang nodded. The two of them left the Room together.

Tomorrow Cafeteria,

"General Manager Wei, General Manager Chen is truly bold to invest hundreds of millions to build a Competition Base specifically…" Yao Beiguo briefly recounted General Manager Chen's investment in the Competition Base, as well as the requirements and scale of the project, his tone filled with admiration.

"Do you think General Manager Chen invested hundreds of millions to build this Competition Base just to use it for hosting his own tournaments?" Wei Yan put down his bowl and chopsticks and looked up at Yao Beiguo.

"Could it be that General Manager Chen has other purposes?" Yao Beiguo looked up at Wei Yan in confusion. Seeing this, Wei Yan smiled slightly.

"When General Manager Chen arranged for the construction of the Competition Base, he never said it was only for hosting his own company's tournaments."

"Furthermore, it's impossible for us to be hosting tournaments all the time; there will certainly be a lot of idle time. During that idle time, should the Competition Base just sit unused?"

"How could that be? When it's idle, we can completely rent the Competition Base to other clubs or game officials who want to host tournaments. This would also be a source of income for us."

"Moreover, since it's built entirely as a Competition Base, they won't need to set up stages or anything themselves. It's far better than renting a stadium. I believe that once it's built, many people will come to host competitions at our Competition Base."

"And then there's the hotel for accommodation. It can't just be for hosting tournament teams during events, right? So when there are no tournaments, the hotel shouldn't be idle either. It's equipped with high-end computers and high-speed internet. Isn't that just a perfect e-sports Room?"

"During construction, we can lean in this direction: single e-sports Rooms, couple's double e-sports Rooms, and multi-person e-sports Rooms. That way, even when there are no tournaments, the hotel can operate normally as an e-sports hotel."

"Also, those who watch the tournaments are basically people who love games, and they are all potential customers for the e-sports Rooms. Furthermore, a hotel is so large that after accommodating all the club members, there will definitely be other vacant Rooms. Those Rooms can definitely be used for people who come to watch the competitions."

"So, how could General Manager Chen simply invest so much money just to build a Competition Base?" Wei Yan shook his head and smiled. In his understanding, General Manager Chen was the type of person who looked five steps ahead for every one step taken; how could he possibly do anything that would be a losing business deal? Of course, with the exception of charitable work.

Yao Beiguo listened to Wei Yan's words, his expression gradually changing. He hadn't expected General Manager Chen to have so many ideas; if Wei Yan hadn't explained it to him, he really wouldn't have thought of these things on his own. Renting out the Competition Base to other clubs or officials hosting tournaments—this was simply perfect.

So that's it. Yao Beiguo sighed inwardly and reflected on himself; it seemed he still needed to learn more from Wei Yan. He must think more deeply about the orders General Manager Chen gave.

"By the way, General Manager Wei, you've been in Jiangcheng for quite a while. Where do you think it would be appropriate to build this Competition Base?" Yao Beiguo suddenly thought of the issue of site selection.

"The East District!" Wei Yan said while eating, without even looking up.

The East District! Yao Beiguo hadn't expected Wei Yan to give him an answer so quickly. But what was it about that place that was so attractive?

Seeing Yao Beiguo's confused look, Wei Yan took a sip of soup and then began to explain.

"Currently, Mingri Group's properties over there include the Corner Pet Park, Corner Apartment, the senior apartment, and the Tomorrow Community that is currently under construction."

"These properties are all currently in the East District. If the Competition Base, along with the BL Game Club, are all built in the East District, then as long as it develops slowly, the East District will become a huge industrial base."

"As long as the East District develops, it will be very beneficial to us."

"I understand, thank you for your guidance, General Manager Wei." Yao Beiguo looked at Wei Yan with gratitude. He only had a rough understanding of Mingri Group's properties, and as for where each property was located and those specific details, he hadn't paid much attention. Now it seemed he really needed to learn more about them.

"No problem. By the way, how are your tournament preparations coming along?" Wei Yan smiled, suddenly remembering the tournament. He had been paying attention to the two games, [Tianlong] and [Extreme Survival], over the past few days. Now that the online tournament channel had closed, it was clear that the online selection had ended.

"Yes, the online selection has ended, and each team was awarded a prize of 40,000. A total of 30 teams were selected, and these 30 teams will now participate in the offline competition."

"For these 30 teams in the offline competition, we will divide them into three Groups, A, B, and C, with 10 teams in each Group. They will compete against each other, and the competition will last for a total of three days, with six matches held each day."

"The top eight in each match will receive different points, and at the same time, during the match, each kill will also earn one point."

"After the three days of competition, the points will be tallied and ranked accordingly. The top ten on the leaderboard will all receive rewards."

"The first place on the leaderboard will receive a reward of 3 million, second place will receive 1.5 million, third place will receive 1 million, fourth place will receive 100,000, and 5th-10th place will all receive 50,000. Furthermore, the top three teams will get to compete against those club teams to vie for the final tournament championship."
