Good Words Cannot Persuade a Ghost Bent on Dying

"Loki, are you planning to go back on your word?" The dull voice rolled through Loki’s heart like thunder.

"No, no, no, don’t misunderstand me, Chitauri King. I only wanted to tell you that Earth isn’t as weak as we initially thought. I strongly recommend revising the plan!"

Loki held a strange scepter. It had a golden shaft, with the front of its head resembling a blade and the back resembling a crab’s claw. A yellow gem was clamped tightly in the center of the pincers, shining brightly as he spoke.

Clearly, he was using the gem’s power to communicate with the Chitauri King in real time.

"There’s no need to revise the plan! You only need to open the space portal. Once you do that, your task will be complete. Everything else will have nothing to do with you."

"No, Chitauri King. The success or failure of your plan will directly affect whether I can successfully become the king of Midgard. How can you say it has nothing to do with me?"

"Once we conquer this little planet and obtain what the great Thanos wants, we’ll naturally hand it over to you."

"Sigh…" Loki sighed helplessly. "Then I’ll be frank. I don’t think the Chitauri have enough power to conquer Midgard. I hope Thanos can send some additional experts."

Good advice had always been hard to hear. Loki’s honest words enraged the Chitauri King.

"Loki!"

"Son of Odin!"

"Are you provoking the Chitauri?"

"The Chitauri are a warrior race. We were born for battle, and throughout the entire universe, the Chitauri are renowned!"

"If you’re afraid and regret this, you’d better hide in that little place for the rest of your life and never come out again. Otherwise, the great Chitauri will show you the price of betrayal!"

I hate dealing with these brainless fools!

After cursing inwardly, Loki said with a smile, "All right, all right. Have your troops make preparations. I’ll open the space portal soon."

"Lastly, good luck to you all. I hope we’ll have the chance to meet again."

As expected, good words could not persuade a ghost bent on dying.

It went without saying that the Chitauri would definitely hit a wall on Earth and suffer a great loss. It was even possible that their entire army would be wiped out.

But that was no longer important. He had already fulfilled his duty to warn them. Whatever happened afterward was their own doing.

If he weren’t wary of Thanos behind them, how could a mere group of Chitauri dare to shout in his face? These locusts of the universe actually dared to swagger before him, the legitimate Asgardian prince. They deserved to be taught a lesson.

He only needed to find a time to open the space portal and let them come over to die.

However, he still needed to observe the situation and choose the specific time and place carefully. He couldn’t let them run straight into the line of fire.

After closing the communication channel, Loki put away the Mind Scepter, sighed, and sat down. He felt somewhat regretful.

If I’d known Midgard was so bizarre, there would’ve been no need to make a deal with Thanos!

When Magneto slaughtered the humans earlier, Loki hadn’t arrived yet. After he came, he hadn’t taken it seriously either. But this time, Magneto destroyed Washington and created a huge abyss there, which truly frightened him.

That was already far beyond his abilities. It was something only his father, Odin, could accomplish.

Loki had come to Earth, of course, not because he "yearned to visit the place where his brother studied." He had come to see exactly how Tony Stark had managed to lift Mjolnir, how the Martial Arts School had transformed Thor and greatly increased his strength, and whether he could steal Mjolnir after figuring out the trick.

That was his true purpose.

He had originally intended to investigate the Martial Arts School for information, but Zhan Liu saw through the illusion created by his magic at a glance. Knowing better than to press his luck, Loki had simply pretended to sincerely come and take him as his master, planning to muddle through the matter first.

He had paid no attention to beginner-level Current Drive. It was far inferior to his magic, and the enhancement it provided to his divine body was barely better than nothing.

But after stepping into the Magnetic Field Rotation Realm, he discovered that the abilities of Ultimate Limit Qigong were somewhat absurd.

Although he had only reached the First Heaven recently, he felt that his strength had already undergone a drastic transformation.

In the past, he had been an ordinary mage, a fragile glass cannon who relied entirely on the strength of his divine body to hold on. Yet compared with the other warriors of Asgard, he had been far inferior.

And in a warrior nation like Asgard, warriors were the mainstream. Yet Loki had chosen to become a mage, which made him seem effeminate. The rough men had mocked him for it plenty of times.

There was nothing he could do about that. Loki wasn’t an Asgardian. He was a Frost Giant, a natural master of ice magic.

But young Loki hadn’t known any of that. Of course, he had wanted to become a warrior too. Yet many things in this world couldn’t be done well through effort alone.

People said that everything was difficult at the beginning. Another meaning was that if you got off to a good start, you could coast to victory afterward.

Thor had gotten off to a good start, so he had coasted to victory. Loki, however, had picked the wrong script at the beginning, and no matter how hard he chased, he could never catch up.

But now, Loki had discovered that his chance to become a qualified warrior had appeared.

The Loki of the past had specialized in magic. The Loki of today had already become a dual cultivator of magic and martial arts!

Interest was the best teacher.

Loki, who had originally been uninterested in Ultimate Limit Qigong, was now practicing harder than anyone else.

He wanted to become a powerful warrior, then return to Asgard. Once he activated Magnetic Field Rotation, he would suppress all of Asgard and see which blind fool would still dare mock him, Loki.

If possible, he also wanted to pin Thor to the ground and beat him brutally in front of that old fool Odin, making the biased old man regret everything and realize who the truly powerful warrior was and who was most suited to be Asgard’s king.

Then he could magnanimously forgive his father and, under the witness of his mother Frigga, successfully be crowned king of Asgard!

At that time, he would become the god-king and let that reckless brute Thor do what he loved most: conquer lands in every direction. Everyone would fulfill their own role and have a bright future.

What a perfect arrangement!

Humans weren’t the only ones who needed to show off and slap their enemies in the face. The God Race was the same.

Whenever Loki imagined this scene, he couldn’t help becoming excited. His heightened emotions then stimulated the speed of the Magnetic Field Rotation within his body, making his progress faster and faster.

His master had been right. The power that drove Magnetic Field Rotation came from firm will, intense emotions, and love!
