Great Sword

Josh had no car, but he had dragons. Of course, his own dragon was not exactly obedient.

Fortunately, Garen’s dragon was both obedient and sensible. Most importantly, it would not randomly anger him or argue with him. Sometimes, Josh wondered why he had not made a contract with Hosdena in the first place.

At least he would not have to guard against a certain dragon every day as if guarding against a thief, right?

Of course, Josh was only thinking about it. He had never regretted making a contract with Akathosh. Setting everything else aside, the help that guy had given him was obvious to everyone. It was just that the guy was far too good at causing trouble sometimes, leaving Josh endlessly frustrated.

After saying goodbye to the Stone Giants, Josh directly explained the situation to Legolas. Although Legolas’s expression was extremely strange, he still continued leading them onward with great seriousness.

Filthy goblins were indeed not much of a threat, but he could not understand how His Majesty Josh had communicated with those huge rocks.

"Could it be that he even knows the language of stones?"

Legolas pondered as he walked, finding it stranger the more he thought about it. Stone Giants were extremely ancient beings. They were enormous and immensely powerful. Many had tried to conquer them and turn them into weapons of war, but no one had succeeded so far.

In any case, aside from a few lucky survivors, everyone else had either been trampled to death or accidentally crushed into pulp by falling rocks.

At some point, no one spoke of those Stone Giants anymore, and the Stone Giants themselves gradually became legends.

The elves had also considered forming an alliance with the Stone Giants to fight the darkness sweeping across the continent together.

Unfortunately, they had no way of communicating with the Stone Giants. Luckily, their actions had been fairly gentle, and they had not had the misfortune of encountering the Stone Giants while they were playing around. Otherwise, this would probably have become another tragic incident in elven history.

"Is there something you can’t figure out?" Josh naturally noticed the strange look on Legolas’s face. This elf did seem rather bewildered by Josh, so Josh simply asked.

"Yes, Your Majesty. How did you communicate with those Stone Giants? Of course, if it is inconvenient…"

"It’s nothing. I merely used magic. When I first came to this world, I did not know this world’s language at all. I used the same method to communicate with Elrond back then. Otherwise, just learning your language would have wasted who knew how much of my time."

"Magic? That is truly amazing."

Josh smiled but said nothing. Magic had far more amazing aspects than that. Still, those things had to be experienced personally; no matter how much Josh explained, it would be useless. Besides, not everyone liked magic.

Josh remembered the world of a certain white-haired pile driver. The mages there did not have particularly pleasant lives.

Some were burned alive, while others were hunted down and besieged. It was almost unbelievable that they were mages.

Yet in other worlds, mages lived extremely comfortably. Most commonly, a mage’s social status was many times higher than a knight’s. Even if their strength was similar, mages were still considered noble, while warriors could only serve as attendants or guards.

Perhaps every world viewed magic differently. There was nothing Josh could do about that.

There was not such a huge distinction on the Muya Continent, because everyone shared the same title—professionals. Furthermore, the further professionals advanced, the more they realized that warriors and mages were fundamentally the same. They merely specialized in different areas.

"Oh, right. That white-haired pile driver’s adopted daughter, her bloodline seems very unusual. Let me think… it seemed to be the Elder Bloodline? Was it really not the Void Bloodline? She could actually travel through different worlds? That is incredible!"

Josh stroked his chin. That kind of bloodline truly interested him.

The origin of that bloodline seemed to have been cultivated by some elves. If necessary, Josh felt that he should visit that world someday, take a proper look around, and perhaps collect some of that woman’s blood to bring back for research.

Of course, if he could bring the entire person back, Josh might find that even better.

Shaking his head, Josh stopped thinking about such random matters. Following Legolas’s lead, they soon found traces—an excavated mountain range. They immediately determined that this was the filthy goblins’ nest.

"What do we do now? They’re underground, so it’ll be hard for us to get in." Legolas looked helplessly at the solid ground, especially since his elven longsword was already emitting a faint blue glow. That proved they had definitely found the right place.

Elven longswords emitted a pale blue glow in the presence of dark creatures, especially Orcs.

Filthy goblins were actually a type of Orc, so it was perfectly normal for Legolas’s sword to glow. Josh remembered that Bilbo’s dagger could glow as well.

"This isn’t difficult at all." Natasha glanced at the ground and spoke indifferently.

Then, a faint Battle Qi rose from Natasha’s body. She stepped forward and slammed her slender right foot down onto the open ground. In an instant, the entire place collapsed with a booming rumble, revealing a vast space beneath.

"See? Very simple."

After doing all that, Natasha casually returned to Josh’s side. Legolas stared at the beautiful woman as if he had seen a ghost. He had never imagined that she could be so terrifying.

Garen, meanwhile, was much calmer. It was indeed very easy for a Fourth Tier warrior to do something like that.

However, the corner of Josh’s mouth twitched. Although he also felt that this was perfectly normal for a Fourth Tier warrior, it felt extremely strange when that warrior was a woman—and his woman at that.

He glanced at Natasha’s right foot. God knew what Josh had done to it last night. Even recalling it now sent a chill down his spine.

I hope she never gives me a kick like that someday.

Following the newly opened hole, Josh and the others quickly jumped down. Naturally, they were not as unlucky as those dwarves, and the filthy goblins below all seemed to be in terrible mental states. Even after spotting Josh’s group, they launched an attack.

In the end, Josh did not even need to act. Garen charged forward first.

Garen had indeed been feeling stifled for quite some time. They had visited so many worlds, yet there had been very few chances for him to fight. Most importantly, Josh often resolved everything with a single spell.

After training for so long, aside from going all out while sparring with Elrond, he had not had another opportunity.

The filthy goblins before him were not very strong, honestly, and they did not possess things like Battle Qi. Besides, they were nauseating creatures. It was perfectly natural for Garen to use them for a little practice.

Pulling out the broadsword he had not used in who knew how long from his Space Bag, Garen swung it at the filthy goblins rushing toward him. Immediately, a sword aura like a fierce gale flew toward the goblins.

Garen was already Fifth Tier, and his Battle Qi was extremely powerful. Furthermore, he had no intention of holding back. Perhaps intending to show Legolas the power of Battle Qi, Garen attacked with all his strength. The result was that the filthy goblins were sliced in half by the sword aura as easily as tofu.

There were no lucky survivors. Any goblin struck by Garen’s sword aura was essentially cleaved apart. The unluckier ones were cut in half but not quite dead, struggling continuously on the ground. The luckier ones died instantly, spared such suffering.

The scene was somewhat bloody, but neither Josh nor Natasha seemed to care. Garen had even less of a reaction.

He continued walking forward, cutting down enemies as he went. Not a single Filthy Goblin could withstand one strike from Garen. The moment they encountered him, they were finished.

Legolas, walking at the rear, stared blankly at everything before him. It was not as if he had never participated in battle; on the contrary, he had fought in quite a few.

But he had never seen a battle like this, where one person practically fought an entire army alone—and did so with such ease.

Filthy goblins were indeed weak, but their numbers were an enormous headache.

Anyone who encountered a large group of filthy goblins would probably think only of escaping as quickly as possible! These goblins could be described as utterly fearless of death, and their numbers were enough to drive one into despair.

Yet this human before him had crushed through them alone. Legolas had never seen such a fighting style, one that completely ignored the enemy’s numbers and killed them with even a casual swing of the sword. However, he was no fool, and he quickly noticed that the faint radiance around Garen’s body had been continuously maintained.

"Is that the effect of Battle Qi?"

Legolas silently asked himself, though he already knew the answer.

The effects of Battle Qi seemed to be many times stronger than he had imagined! Garen’s high Battle Qi level might have played a part, but that did not stop Legolas from understanding its power.

Perhaps he had grown tired of playing around, or perhaps the endless harassment from these fearless little creatures had irritated him. After Garen sent out another sword aura to clear the goblins around him, he immediately began gathering his Battle Qi.

In only a few seconds, Garen’s broadsword gave off a terrifying radiance. Once everything was ready, he viciously plunged the broadsword into the ground.

In that instant, Josh seemed to see a massive Great Sword descending from the sky. Accompanied by terrifying fluctuations of Battle Qi, it made the entire cavern begin to shake!

When Garen plunged his broadsword into the ground, the goblins all froze in place without moving. As the cavern continued shaking and collapsing, the goblins fell to the ground one after another.

Clearly, those creatures were already dead. Entire groups of them had died simultaneously.

Garen smiled slightly and casually pulled his broadsword from the ground. But before he could say anything, Josh was already roaring at him at the top of his lungs.

"You bastard! Were you planning to bury all of us alive?!"

"…"
