Harvest, Mutants
In the Land of Death, Hela’s consciousness returned to her body. Then, looking extremely weak and dressed in tattered clothes, she stood up and looked at Wang Bert uneasily.
"Little Hela is my disciple. So are you."
Wang Bert smiled. Hela immediately relaxed, then said, "Master, let’s conquer this universe together."
"Hela, your way won’t work."
Wang Bert shook his head and waved his hand. A spatial portal appeared out of thin air, and on the other side was Asgard’s Bifrost.
As soon as the portal opened, Asgard’s power surged into Hela’s body. Her complexion instantly improved, and even her tattered clothes quickly restored themselves.
Seeing this, Little Hela returned all the Death Power to Hela. She did not need the power of death. Though it was powerful, it did not suit her.
Little Hela’s goal was to become Speaker. She had to do so openly and honorably.
At that moment, Little Hela and Hela officially separated, becoming two independent individuals—their souls remained connected, but they could only communicate if both agreed.
Feeling refreshed and energetic, Hela thanked him, "Thank you, Master."
"No need to thank me, because you’ll definitely curse me soon."
Wang Bert smiled, spread his five fingers, and a complex blood-colored magic array appeared out of thin air before sinking into Hela’s body.
Hela felt all her strength being sealed. Shocked and furious, she asked, "Master, what do you mean?"
"Hela, go make up for your childhood. Also, do your best to screw over your father. I support you."
With a wave of his hand, Wang Bert swapped Hela’s position with that of the Valkyrie beside Odin.
Odin steadied the staggering Hela and said guiltily, "Hela."
"Odin."
The moment Hela saw Odin, her killing intent surged. She immediately threw a punch at his face, but the next moment, she clutched her fist and screamed in pain.
Hela’s strength had been sealed, and she was now no different from an ordinary person. Odin’s body was harder than steel, so one could imagine how painful that punch was.
"Hela, I’m taking you home. You, Frigga, and I will live together as a family from now on."
Odin supported Hela and led her toward the Stinky Tofu Shop. Hela struggled desperately, but in her current state, she had no way to break free from Odin. She could only roar, "Odin, do you think I’ll forgive you? I’ll kill you, become the Queen of Asgard, and then conquer the universe."
Seeing others looking their way, Odin led Hela into an alley. Then, using divine power, he instantly brought Hela back to the Stinky Tofu Shop.
Odin released Hela and said, "I know you won’t forgive me. I just want to fulfill my duty as your father."
"Father? Odin, you’re disgusting."
Hela sneered and took the chance to flee the Stinky Tofu Shop. But after only a few steps, she was teleported back inside. She tried several times, but the result was always the same.
While frying tofu, Odin said, "I know I don’t deserve it, but I can’t do nothing. If I did, I’d be even more sorry to you."
Hela shouted, "If you feel sorry for me, then give Asgard to me. No matter what, I’m better than that idiot. Besides, you promised that I’d become Queen."
"Your brother is indeed an idiot, but at worst he’ll become a spendthrift. You, however, would destroy Asgard. Hela, your way of thinking is wrong."
Odin said, "If you can change your mind, what’s wrong with giving Asgard to you?"
"I’m wrong? Didn’t you teach me everything I am? Odin!"
Hela sneered at first, then roared, "Who told me to conquer the world with death, to use death to make everyone obedient?"
Odin’s expression darkened. "Hela, I wronged you, which is why I must help you even more."
Hela roared, "You had Master seal my strength. You call that helping me?"
"Of course I’m helping you. Blood God sealed not only your strength, but also your divine position. Only then can you escape death’s influence and become your true self."
Odin nodded firmly. Then he raised a freshly fried piece of stinky tofu and said, "Have some. It’s been a long time since I treated you to food."
"What a joke. Who would eat something that smells this bad?"
Hela turned her head disdainfully, but the next moment, her stomach growled.
Even Hela could not help blushing in embarrassment.
"Little Hela likes it, so you’ll definitely like it too."
Odin smiled and placed the stinky tofu beside Hela. Hela snorted without speaking, but her eyes kept drifting toward it. After all, she had not eaten anything for thousands of years.
Odin did not mind. He whistled, and a little black wolf ran out from the backyard, excitedly leaping into Hela’s arms.
"Fenrir!"
Hela hugged the little black wolf in delighted surprise. It was none other than her pet and mount, Fenrir. Then she asked in astonishment, "Odin, why has Fenrir become so small?"
"It was shrunk by Pym Particles."
Odin said, "Hela, Frigga will be back soon. Let’s have a family gathering."
"Who’s family with you?"
Holding Fenrir, Hela snorted coldly in disdain. Then, under the excuse of feeding Fenrir, she picked up the stinky tofu.
"It really is delicious." Hela secretly ate several pieces, her eyes shining.
Odin smiled. To be honest, he was not confident he could make Hela change for the better, but some things had to be done. Besides, doing something was always better than doing nothing.
In the Land of Death, Wang Bert said to Valkyrie, "The souls of Asgard’s Valkyries are still here."
Valkyrie was overjoyed. "Really? That’s wonderful."
"However, their auras are extremely weak. Put it this way: one breath could make them completely vanish."
Wang Bert said, "It won’t be easy to restore them."
"Damn Hela."
Valkyrie gritted her teeth and cursed. Hela had definitely been deliberately tormenting them. She said, "Blood God, tell me what you want. As long as I can give it, I’ll give it to you."
Wang Bert did not speak. He spread his hand, and hundreds of transparent phantoms flew out from the Land of Death. Then, the phantoms landed in his hand and formed a crystalline Soul Crystal.
These were the Valkyries’ souls.
"Yalvete, Brunhilde…"
Looking at the familiar faces, Valkyrie was overwhelmed with emotion, tears streaming down her face. She shouted at Wang Bert, "Blood God, as long as you save them, I’m willing to give everything."
Wang Bert handed the crystal to Little Hela and said, "Little Hela will revive them in my place. This is her responsibility."
Little Hela took the Soul Crystal. She was stunned for a moment, then understood. Her master wanted her to win over the Valkyrie Army.
If Little Hela wanted to become Speaker, she would certainly need a trusted legion.
"Little Hela?"
Valkyrie frowned. Though she knew Little Hela was different from Hela, she was still hostile toward her. After all, she was also Hela.
"You two settle it yourselves."
Wang Bert waved his hand and sent them both out of the Land of Death. He believed Little Hela had enough ability and wisdom to win over the Valkyrie Army. If she could not even accomplish this, what Speaker was she competing for?…
On the first night after the war ended, most people on Earth were celebrating—celebrating that Earth had survived the disaster and that they were still alive.
Tony Stark gathered up all the models in New York and threw a grand party at his estate, letting the soldiers who had participated in the war enjoy themselves for the entire night.
The Earth Federation, still under formation, also held a formal banquet to host alien reinforcements from Asgard, Xandar, and elsewhere. They also established an alliance agreement to watch over and support one another.
Xandar felt that it had made a huge profit. Earth had a big shot—a Star Destroyer Level big shot.
The day after the party, massive demonstrations broke out across America. Countless people demanded that the government and S.W.O.R.D. reveal the truth about demons, Angels, God, magic, and Blood God.
This time, there was simply no way to keep it hidden. America’s spokesperson said, "Gods and demons are no different from aliens. Everyone should believe in science…"
S.W.O.R.D. was more straightforward. "We recommend everyone go watch ‘Blood Clan Police Department.’ Most of what it says is true."
"Looking for the truth in a TV show?"
The reporters were somewhat speechless. One reporter loudly asked, "Is Blood God real too?"
"Yes, Blood God is real. He is the chairman of the Blood God Group, Earth’s ambassador, Earth Guardian, and a Star Destroyer Level Expert. Without him, Earth would have been destroyed many times over."
The S.W.O.R.D. spokesperson nodded. She did not mention that the Osborn Corporation also belonged to Blood God, since that would not help Blood God keep a low profile—while picking up girls.
The reporters erupted into an uproar. Someone else asked, "So Vampires really exist?"
"Yes, the Blood Clan exists, but all Blood Clan members who dared to drink living human blood have already been eliminated. The Blood Clan is part of Earth."
The spokesperson nodded again. Though the reporters were surprised, they did not feel much disgust or panic. On one hand, Wang Bert had been subtly influencing public awareness for years. On the other, Blood God and the Blood Clan had always protected the world. Everyone knew that.
In fact, after news of the Blood Clan spread, their biggest problem was that too many people wanted to become part of the Blood Clan.
Besides Blood God, the matter reporters asked about most was Ancient One. In response, the spokesperson smiled and said, "In three months, a documentary on Sorcerer Supreme Ancient One will officially premiere. At that time, both Ancient One and Kamar-Taj will be presented to the public."
The reporters’ eyes lit up. There was nothing more to say—they absolutely had to watch this film. That Ancient One was very likely the legendary God! What the reporters did not know was that the documentary had been split into two parts. Ahem, it was not that Wang Bert wanted to make more money; one part simply could not contain Ancient One’s glorious life.
In short, though the revelation of the truth caused the world to boil with excitement, nothing major happened aside from a resurgence of faith and the public’s fascination with the mysterious side.
Nor would anything major happen. After all, Blood God was keeping Earth in check.
"There probably won’t be any major trouble now. Next, Earth should enjoy peace for a while."
Inside Blood God Manor, Wang Bert nodded in satisfaction. This time, the gains had been considerable: humanity’s confidence had greatly increased, many powerful experts had emerged, Blood God’s prestige had soared, and so on.
Setting those aside, the main tangible gains were the Demon Gods he had devoured, a new Serpent Crown, Godly Shield, and the Devouring Concept.
This time, Wang Bert had devoured a total of eight Demon Gods—Black Mist Demon God, Bat Demon God, Puppet Demon God, and five fleeing Demon Gods. The Blood River had grown again. Truly cause for celebration.
There was nothing much to say about the Serpent Crown. Without collecting the full set, no number of them would be useful. As for Godly Shield, it was excellent and powerful, so there was no need to say more.
The Devouring Concept was undoubtedly a major harvest. Not only was it powerful, it also suited Wang Bert extremely well. After merging with it, Wang Bert’s strength would rise once more.
Of course, the greatest gain this time was his increase in strength—Wang Bert had completely devoured the Space Stone, advanced to an Ancient God, and become one of the true big shots in the universe.
"If we fought one-on-one now, Thanos definitely wouldn’t be my match. The problem is that there may be someone behind Thanos."
Wang Bert narrowed his eyes. Because he had been interested in Thanos, he had researched Thanos in his previous life and knew that, in the comics, Thanos had one of the Five Creator Gods, the Goddess of Death, behind him.
As for whether she existed in this world, that was unclear. Still, it was always better to be careful.
"There’s one last loose end to deal with—the mystery Master has been keeping from me. I should settle it quickly, then go pick up girls and regain my humanity. Otherwise, Earth might lose its protector."
After thinking for a moment, Wang Bert opened a portal to Heaven. Just as he was about to enter, the hair-covered Ancient One walked out from the portal and said, "Let’s go. I’ll tell you in detail about Earth’s greatest crisis."
Wang Bert rubbed his nose and said, "Earth’s greatest crisis? I suddenly don’t feel like hearing it."
"This is your responsibility."
Ancient One smiled faintly, circled his hands, and brought Wang Bert to a chaotic space.
Looking at the Chaotic Void, Wang Bert asked in surprise, "The power of the Time Stone, your power, Master, and God’s power… Master, God’s disappearance really does have something to do with you."
"I told you, it has nothing to do with me."
Ancient One waved his hand, dispersing the chaos. A blue Earth appeared before Wang Bert’s eyes. Wang Bert was stunned. "Why is there another Earth?"
Ancient One said, "Look carefully."
Wang Bert looked toward the Earth and saw a bald man in a wheelchair teaching a class, as well as an old man wearing a helmet controlling a steel construction base. In addition, this Earth contained many people with superpowers and many ugly people.
"Mutant Earth?"
Wang Bert blinked and asked in astonishment, "Master, what exactly is going on?"
"There was an unfortunate woman who believed all her misfortunes came from being a mutant, so she shouted, ‘No more mutants.’"
Ancient One said, "Originally, that would have been nothing. The problem was that, at the same time the woman shouted those words, a peculiar lifeform crashed into Earth. The special energy carried by that lifeform collided with the chaotic energy released by the woman, causing spacetime to reverse.
"Thus, time returned to 2008, and this new Earth was born. All the erased mutants were placed within it."
"An unfortunate woman, someone?"
Wang Bert was stunned. He asked, "Wait, Master, are you saying this was all my fault? That can’t be possible, right? How could such an ordinary lifeform as me have the ability to reverse spacetime?"
"How could a lifeform capable of traveling between universes be ordinary?"
Ancient One looked at Wang Bert and said, "I don’t know where you truly came from, but this really is your responsibility. I’ve been taking the blame for you for years."
Wang Bert rubbed his nose somewhat awkwardly and changed the subject. "Was that unfortunate woman Scarlet Witch Wanda? It seems our fate was decided long ago."
Ancient One reminded him, "Yes, Bert. Treat her well. Don’t be a scumbag. If she goes berserk, it won’t be a joke—she could blow up Earth in minutes."
Wang Bert promised, "Don’t worry. I definitely won’t let her down. I’ll take in every one I should."
Ancient One complained, "Do you have some misunderstanding about what a scumbag is?"
