He Came from the Future

According to Old Pi’s description, Li Congxin and Scott Lang finally understood what had happened.

It turned out that, previously, to defend against Ultron, who possessed Pym Particles, several Avengers scientists had specifically upgraded the Avengers Base’s security system. Whether ants or flies, nothing could enter the building through any means without being detected.

Although Ultron’s threat had later been eliminated, following the principle of "if you have something good, there’s no need to use something inferior," Avengers Tower still retained that watertight defense system after its reconstruction.

Unless an enemy was willing to shrink themselves to the subatomic level, or could teleport like Li Congxin, infiltrating the building was completely out of the question.

Using this very system, Tony had just captured Scott Lang, who was wearing the Ant-Man Suit and trying to sneak in to steal Pym Particles.

But clearly, the Scott Lang they had caught was not the one who had entered with them.

The exact situation was too complicated to explain in just a sentence or two.

Tony and the others had already taken the Pym Particles from him and locked him in the detention room. They were just waiting for the others to come over so they could interrogate him together.

When they arrived outside the interrogation room, they found Tony, Captain America, and Yi Long all there. Looking through the detention room’s glass, the three of them indeed saw someone sitting inside wearing the Ant-Man Suit. He looked exactly like Scott Lang!

After the three entered, everyone’s eyes involuntarily shifted back and forth between the two Scott Langs. The Scott Lang beside Li Congxin felt extremely uncomfortable under their scrutiny. "Why are you all staring at me? We may look very similar, but we aren’t exactly the same."

As he spoke, Scott Lang pointed at the man inside the detention room who looked exactly like him. "That guy looks a lot older than me!"

Tony merely sneered at this. "I heard there’s a race in the universe called the Skrulls. They can freely imitate anyone’s appearance, voice, bodily structure, and even some people’s superpowers. Imitating DNA probably isn’t beyond them, either. If you want us to believe you, you’ll have to offer something convincing."

The Scott Lang in the detention room fell silent again. His brows knitted tightly as he seemed to consider how he could convince the people before him.

At this moment, Li Congxin smiled faintly, stepped forward, and said, "I just noticed that you looked at me differently from how you looked at everyone else. Could it be that you don’t know me?"

The Scott Lang inside the detention room froze. "Am I supposed to know you?"

A flash of understanding crossed Li Congxin’s eyes. He then pointed at Tony beside him. "Do you know this guy?"

"Tony Stark."

Li Congxin pointed at Old Pi.

"Hank Pym."

After asking about everyone present one by one, the Scott Lang inside only failed to recognize Li Congxin and Yi Long.

Seeing this, a confident smile appeared at the corners of Li Congxin’s lips. Then he suddenly said something that filled the other man with terror: "I’m guessing you’re still hiding another battle suit on you, one that’s different from the Ant-Man Suit?"

Scott Lang was instantly shocked. Cold sweat burst from his forehead, and for a moment, he completely lost the ability to think.

The Quantum Battle Suit could be said to be his final trump card. Ever since arriving in this current timeline, he had never revealed it. So how did this pretty boy know about it?

He wanted to deny it, but after seeing Li Congxin’s half-smiling expression, Scott Lang ultimately abandoned that unrealistic idea. After sighing helplessly, he could only say, "You guessed right. I’m from the future."

Then, five years later, he escaped from the Quantum Realm and went to the Avengers Base, where he found Captain America and Black Widow.

After that, they found Banner and Tony. In the end, Tony deciphered the secret of time travel and decided to return to the past to collect the Infinity Stones, snap his fingers, and save the half of all life that Thanos had erased.

However, after the Quantum Battle Suit had been successfully developed, it first needed to be tested. As it happened, while testing the Quantum Battle Suit, the Ant-Man before them made a tiny mistake in operating it and traveled to New York in 1992. That was rather awkward…

Fortunately, the Pym Particles on him were enough to sustain his return trip. Unexpectedly, another accident occurred during the journey back, and he ended up here instead.

Seeing that the Pym Particles remaining on him were no longer enough to let him keep messing around, Scott Lang immediately remembered that Dr. Pym was still alive in this timeline. He instinctively went to find Dr. Pym, and the result could naturally be imagined.

Then, he was captured.

"What utter nonsense!"

Hearing Scott Lang’s explanation, Old Pi immediately snorted. "If you really came from the future and are the Second-Generation Ant-Man who inherited my mantle, how could you not know Clark or Yi Long? You should know that, apart from Hope, they’re the two people closest to me!"

Faced with this question, the future Scott Lang stammered for a long while but still failed to offer any explanation.

Fortunately, Li Congxin spoke up and explained, "I think it’s probably because of a branching timeline."

Li Congxin helplessly shook his head. "He probably overshot his stop while traveling through time. Then, when trying to return, you click the wrong folder and, after some fumbling, end up going from My Computer/D Drive/War/Indestructible Number to E Drive/Study/Physics/Piston Motion."

The man’s appearance was highly distinctive. He had a huge, round head that was almost as wide as his shoulders. His face looked somewhat like the national father from the world Li Congxin had inhabited before transmigrating… Ma Yun?
