Human Extinction Plan (Three Chapters)
In a room on an abandoned farm outside New York City, Li Chuan and Skye appeared in an instant.
"Don’t be nervous. Just do as I say later. Once you get over there, it won’t be long before I arrive."
Seeing Skye’s inner tension, Li Chuan smiled and offered a few words of comfort.
Skye took a deep breath and nodded.
"I’m fine. Let’s begin!"
"Alright."
Li Chuan opened the combination case sent by S.H.I.E.L.D. Inside lay an irregular silver object covered in Kree writing—the obelisk used by the Kree to store Terrigen Crystals.
The moment his hand touched the obelisk, the Kree technology within immediately detected that he did not possess Kree blood and launched an attack, intending to use the power contained in the Terrigen Crystal to petrify him.
Some sentient magical artifacts in the Xianxia World could recognize and acknowledge their owners. If someone other than their owner tried to take them, they would suffer a backlash.
Kree high-tech items were actually similar. The metal shell encasing the Terrigen Crystal contained advanced Kree alien technology that could identify Kree genes. Anyone without Kree genes who tried to take it would be attacked.
Because Inhumans had Kree genes in their bodies, they were not attacked.
Thus, there was not much fundamental difference between technologies, magic, cultivation, and other civilizations. They were all different applications of the various energies in the world, and their ultimate destination was the same.
Magic, Daoist magic, and ninjutsu all seemed incredibly unbelievable, but once technology developed to a certain level, it could accomplish the same things.
What could not be done or explained simply meant civilization had not yet reached that point.
Magic’s Apparition, Daoist magic’s minor teleportation, ninjutsu’s Flying Thunder God Technique—these spatial abilities were incredible, weren’t they?
But technology also had wormholes, quantum entanglement, and so on.
Sometimes, the power of technology could not be underestimated either. The Kree Empire could dominate one region of the universe and crush the Skrull civilization and other civilizations beneath it; its strength was beyond question.
However, the energy attack launched by a mere obelisk was naturally enough to deal with ordinary people, but it was far too weak against him.
He did not even need to activate Sage Mode. Simply channeling the True Essence in his Dantian into his hand was enough to block the obelisk’s petrification.
Crack!
With a burst of strength, Li Chuan crushed the obelisk’s outer shell and took out the Terrigen Crystal inside.
What allowed Inhumans to awaken their abilities was not the outer obelisk, but the translucent Terrigen Crystal within.
When exposed to water at a suitable temperature, the Terrigen Crystal produced a special vapor known as Terrigen Mist.
When someone with Inhuman genes came into contact with this mist, the Inhuman genes in their body would be activated, granting them all kinds of incredible abilities.
However, activating Inhuman genes was not entirely a good thing. If it had truly been so stable and useful, the Kree would not have abandoned the Inhumans and left.
Only a small portion of Inhumans could gain abilities without changing their appearance.
Most Inhumans would experience mutations in certain body parts when passing through the Terrigen Mist, or their entire bodies would mutate, turning them into monsters in the eyes of ordinary people.
Some would even lose their sanity and self-awareness, leaving behind only biological instinct.
That was why there were so many members with Inhuman genes in Afterlife, yet it took so long for even one person to awaken abilities, and they still had to wait in line.
They had to undergo extensive observation, research, and screening in order to awaken normal Inhumans as much as possible while eliminating those with hidden risks.
Li Chuan already knew what Skye’s ability was, and he knew she would not mutate, so there was no need to worry about that.
He took out the Terrigen Crystal and placed it into a basin filled with warm water. Only after a large amount of Terrigen Mist rose from the basin did he use the Illusion Charm to conceal himself and hide to one side.
Amid the mist, Skye’s body rapidly began to petrify. When the mist dispersed, she had already turned into a black stone statue.
Li Chuan knew that, unlike ordinary people who would be completely petrified and die upon touching a Terrigen Crystal, Skye was only petrified on the surface. Inside, her Inhuman genes were being activated and granting her abilities.
After waiting for about half an hour, cracks finally appeared across the black stone covering her body, and it shattered with a roar.
At the same time, in the Inhuman base known as Afterlife.
Gordon, who had no eyes, suddenly stiffened.
"A new Inhuman has awakened!"
With a flash, he had already arrived outside the house where their leader, Jiaying, was staying.
After knocking and entering, he told the scarred Jiaying what he had sensed.
After hearing him out, Jiaying pondered for a moment before giving her order.
"Go take a look, but be careful. It might be a trap. Whitehall has been searching for traces of us."
Under normal circumstances, she would not have been so cautious. With Gordon’s complete mastery over his ability, ordinary people could not possibly deal with him.
But her plan was set to begin in one week. As an important part of that plan, Gordon running into trouble would be very troublesome.
Yet she could not abandon a newly awakened Inhuman either. That Inhuman’s ability might prove extremely useful for her upcoming plan.
Originally, she had intended to wait a few more years, until more Inhumans had awakened and she was more certain of success, before carrying out the plan. Her life was infinite, so waiting a few more years did not matter.
But the alien invasion last year, along with those superheroes working with S.H.I.E.L.D., had made her feel immense pressure.
If she waited any longer, she feared that by the time she acted, S.H.I.E.L.D. would have found even more superheroes to stop her. Her chances of success would then become even slimmer.
So she planned to take the risk and launch the plan early, no longer using the safe method of slowly selecting powerful Inhumans.
Instead, she would use Gordon’s teleportation ability to launch surprise attacks on the capitals of every country in the world, turning all the Terrigen Crystals into mist and spreading it as widely as possible.
She would petrify and kill all humans without Inhuman genes in those capital cities while producing as many Inhumans as possible, then lead those Inhumans into battle against the remaining humans.
Once the capitals were destroyed, every country on Earth would inevitably descend into chaos, buying them a great deal of time.
She was not worried that those Inhumans would refuse to stand with her, because she knew that humanity’s vile tendency to reject those unlike themselves would drive the Inhumans to her side without any need for her encouragement.
When the time came, with an Inhuman army possessing all kinds of abilities under her command, would she still need to fear humans who loved fighting among themselves?
She called this plan the Human Extinction Plan!
"Don’t worry. Their technology isn’t mature yet. It can’t affect me."
Gordon nodded, then activated his ability and teleported away according to the location he had sensed.
As long as he remained on Earth, his teleportation ability could take him anywhere instantly. It was also because of his existence that Afterlife had achieved its current prosperity.
