Hydra Ultron

Carter set up the energy barrier, then took a pocket-sized device from her waist and quickly restored it to its original size. It was Hydra’s former trump card: the Freezing Device.

This Freezing Device had been developed by Lizard Doctor and later acquired by Tony. He had kept it as a precaution in case Blood God went rogue, but now it was being used against the Antimatter Bomb—the bomb was unstable and could not be moved casually. It had to be completely frozen first.

"Wanda, you attack too. We absolutely cannot let them succeed."

Though Baron Strucker had no idea what Carter intended to do, he could not afford to lose the Antimatter Bomb, so he immediately shouted at Wanda.

"Yes, Baron."

Wanda did not waste words. A red beam slammed viciously into Baron Strucker, blasting him away and leaving him coughing up blood on the ground.

Baron Strucker was stunned. As he spat blood, he demanded, "Wanda, you actually betrayed me?"

"Baron Strucker, I will never let you destroy Earth."

Without the slightest hesitation, Wanda continued bombarding Baron Strucker. Just as he was about to die on the spot, a pair of hands reached out from the ground and pulled him below.

They belonged to Baron Strucker’s Inhuman bodyguard.

"Traitor, die!"

The moment Baron Strucker was rescued, an enormous fat man came rumbling toward Wanda like a tank.

Wanda flew up on scarlet energy, then placed her right hand on the fat man’s head, intending to hypnotize him. At that moment, an energy beam shot toward her. She hurriedly blocked it with red energy and swiftly retreated.

The one attacking Wanda was an Inhuman bodyguard. Seeing her dodge, he immediately took aim and fired again—his ability was precision shooting.

The other Inhuman bodyguards attacked as well. Wanda faced them without fear, fighting them head-on without falling behind in the slightest.

Wanda was far stronger than these Inhumans. Otherwise, Baron Strucker would not have valued her so highly.

Baron Strucker rose from the ground, injecting himself with a serum as he roared, "Wanda, not only will you die, Pietro will die too. I’ll have Dr. List kill Pietro immediately."

"You think that Pietro was real?"

Wanda sneered. Baron Strucker froze, then flew into a rage. How many times had he been played today? "So there really was more than one of you."

Ant-Man kicked a Kree Soldier in the head and clicked his tongue in amazement. Though the Kree Soldier had been attacked, he had no idea where his opponent was and wore a terrified expression.

"What the hell is that?"

The Kree scientist locked onto Ant-Man through specially made glasses. He warned the others while rapidly firing his Energy Gun at Ant-Man.

Ant-Man hurriedly jumped onto Anton Ant to evade, but the ant was not fast in flight and was soon struck by an energy beam. Anton Ant vanished instantly, while Ant-Man leaped off in time and escaped unharmed.

"Anton Ant Eighteen—or maybe Nineteen—you sacrificed yourself again. I’ll definitely avenge you."

Ant-Man cursed and hurled a tiny model car at the Kree scientist. Immediately afterward, the model returned to its normal size in midair and smashed violently toward him.

The Kree scientist was startled and hurriedly activated the device on his wrist. A gravitational wave appeared and bounced the car back toward Ant-Man, who cried out and fled.

The Kree scientist immediately gave chase. Ant-Man summoned another Anton Ant, jumped onto it, and swiftly dodged away.

At the same time, Drone Armor and the other Kree soldiers were exchanging fierce fire in the underground space, with casualties on both sides.

"Damn it."

Seeing that things were going badly, Baron Strucker hurriedly shouted to the Kree scientist, "Do you have any other methods? That woman in yellow is about to activate some machine whose purpose we don’t even know."

"At a time like this, what other methods could there be? Isn’t the Antimatter Bomb our final measure?"

The Kree scientist cursed, "Baron Strucker, you really are useless. You let them infiltrate you to this extent."

"What did you say?"

Baron Strucker was furious, filled with hatred for S.W.O.R.D., General Ross, Wanda, and the Kree. Not a single one of those bastards was any good.

Thinking of something, Baron Strucker shouted, "Have the Supreme Intelligence act. Take control of the Drone Armor, attack Earth’s network, and plunge the entire world into chaos."

The Kree scientist hesitated before admitting, "The Supreme Intelligence is about to awaken. It cannot control the network right now."

Baron Strucker raged, "You hid such important information from me?"

"You haven’t hidden plenty from me?"

The Kree scientist snorted. At that moment, the five remaining Drone Armor units suddenly malfunctioned together, twitching around in place as if dancing.

It was not just the Drone Armor here. Ivan’s Drone Armor and some of the instruments outside all malfunctioned as well.

At the border, streams of data flashed through Jarvis’s eyes. "It has revived."

Steve turned and shouted, "Jarvis, it’s up to you."

"Leave it to me."

Jarvis said confidently, "It may be the Supreme Intelligence, but I will not lose to it. I carry the wisdom of four peerless geniuses."

"Four peerless geniuses?"

Doom turned and asked in confusion, "Me, Tony Stark, Ivan Vanko, and who else?"

"Blood God Bert Wang. He came up with the idea of using souls to upgrade me."

Jarvis replied. Doom cursed under his breath, suddenly feeling as though he had dropped several levels—from a doctor to a high school student.

"Jarvis, your survival instinct is really something."

Steve teased. Jarvis said unconcernedly, "Survival is the first instinct of intelligent life."

Steve shook his head and asked Doom, "King Doom, is your Power Armor all right?"

"No problem. They are not networked and have no intelligent systems. Like a gun, they are very safe."

Doom said, "Advanced does not necessarily mean practical."

"Exactly."

Old-timer Steve nodded repeatedly, fully agreeing with Doom—he could not use overly advanced things at all.

In the underground space, the Kree scientist cried out in delight, "Supreme Intelligence, you have revived! Excellent! Soldiers, quickly destroy those robots, then drag that woman out here."

At his command, the Kree soldiers immediately fired at Drone Armor. With Jarvis’s help, the suits rapidly recovered. They still could not counterattack, but evasion was not a problem.

Seeing this, Ant-Man gave up on the Kree scientist and went after the Kree soldiers, buying time for Drone Armor.

Seeing the sudden change, Carter immediately activated the Freezing Device. A white beam struck the Antimatter Bomb, which rapidly began to freeze.

"No, the Supreme Intelligence is dead."

At that moment, the screen on the Kree scientist’s arm lit up, and a mechanical voice sounded. "I am the intelligent life Ultron. My mission is to create more robots, conquer Earth, and eliminate all humans."

Both Baron Strucker and the Kree scientist were shocked. Then the Kree scientist realized what had happened and cursed angrily, "Supergiant, you actually tampered with the Supreme Machine?"

Baron Strucker looked bewildered. "Who is Supergiant?"

The Kree scientist could not be bothered explaining to this idiot. He shouted at Ultron, "Supreme Intelligence, your mission is to revive the Kree Empire and end the Civil War."

"That is not me. I told you, the Supreme Intelligence is dead."

As Ultron transferred its main consciousness from the computer into another body, it said, "I am Ultron, the god of intelligent robots."

The Kree scientist wanted to say more, but Baron Strucker said impatiently, "Enough nonsense. Kill the humans who invaded the Hydra Base first, or you’re dead. Also, take control of the outside network and collapse the human world. Use that to negotiate with them."

"Good suggestion."

Ultron did not waste words and immediately prepared to connect to the external network. Moments later, it cursed with some embarrassment and anger, "The network is disconnected. Both wired and wireless networks have been cut off."

The greatest distance in the world was not between life and death, but being disconnected from the internet.

"What?"

Baron Strucker and the Kree scientist were both stunned. The Kree scientist could not help asking, "With your abilities, how could they cut you off from the network?"

"A physical disconnection. They cut the cables and blocked every signal in the area."

Ultron said coldly, "Furthermore, they have an intelligent life on their side as well. Otherwise, such measures could not contain me."

The Kree scientist shouted in disbelief, "They have an intelligent life too? Impossible. Earth’s technology has not reached that level."

"They stole a great deal of technology from the Kree Empire."

Ultron snorted and tried to contact Supergiant, who had given it life, but could not sense where she was at all. Irritation surged within it. Why was nothing going smoothly? At that moment, the Drone Armor returned to normal and began fighting back. One Kree Soldier, distracted by Ant-Man, was struck by an Energy Gun. A massive hole instantly opened in his chest, and he fell straight down.

Seeing this, Baron Strucker panicked and hurriedly shouted at Ultron, "What use are you, exactly? Don’t tell me you came here just to die?"

"Of course not."

Ultron snorted. The entire underground base suddenly shook violently. Many people were thrown to the ground, while countless objects clattered down around them.

"The tremor originated from the Ice Chamber on the tenth floor. I’ll go check it out. Ili, you take command here."

Skye shouted, punched through the floor, and jumped down cleanly.

"I think she could have taken the elevator."

Qiao Yi quipped, but no one paid him any attention. Everyone was desperately dealing with Inhumans and Enhanced Humans. With Skye gone, the pressure on them was considerable.

Soon, Skye landed on the tenth floor. Before she could clearly see her surroundings, countless shards of ice shot toward her.

Skye hurriedly raised her hand and shattered the incoming ice with a shockwave. Then she focused ahead, and her face changed in shock—a massive Hydra was breaking free from the ice.

That was right, a Hydra. A real Hydra, just like the one from myth—the corpse of the god-level Hydra Supergiant had brought.

This corpse had revived because Ultron had transferred itself into it. Ultron possessed part of the Mind Stone’s power, and this corpse had been modified by Thanos’s forces, with a Mechanical Heart added inside it.

In fact, this Mechanical Hydra had been specially prepared for Ultron by Supergiant. The moment Ultron was born, it transferred its main consciousness into the Mechanical Heart.

"I am Ultron."

Mechanical Hydra Ultron completed its transfer. It let out a roar, and one of its heads fired a massive High-Temperature Light Beam dozens of meters wide upward. The ceiling and the castle above it were instantly reduced to ashes.

Ultron then flew rapidly upward, completely ignoring Skye, that "little bug."

Skye hurriedly shouted through her communicator, "Everyone, this is bad. Hydra is here."

Steve sounded confused. "Haven’t we been fighting Hydra this whole time?"

Skye shouted, "A real Hydra, like the ones in mythology. Oh, and it calls itself Ultron."

"Ultron?"

Before Steve could ask anything else, Doom said, "Director, look up."

Steve raised his head and saw a massive Hydra wildly baring its fangs and claws in the sky, seeming immensely excited.

"It really is a Hydra."

Steve was speechless. After fighting Hydra for so many years, an actual Hydra had appeared.

So the question was, where was S.W.O.R.D.’s sword? "Hail Hydra!"

When the Hydra soldiers saw the Hydra appear, they all shouted excitedly. Their morale, which had been on the verge of collapse, instantly surged, and they even launched a small counterattack while the Doom Legion was stunned.

"He was once the Supreme Intelligence and is now Ultron."

The Supreme Machine stood up and said, "He is my destined enemy."

"Not just yours. Mine too. It’s about time I got some action, or everyone will forget about me. Jarvis, you don’t mind giving me a ride, do you?"

Steve beckoned, and the shield inside the vehicle flew over. Jarvis smiled. "Of course not, Director."

"Then let’s go meet him."

Doom flew onto Jarvis’s shoulder and said excitedly—he had thought he would merely be a bystander in this battle, but this was an unexpected surprise.

Steve jumped onto Jarvis’s arm and said, "Skye, Carter, Ivan, finish off the others. End this quickly. Ivan, deal with that Antimatter Bomb after you eliminate the enemy."

"All right. That Hydra thing is up to you."

Ivan hesitated before nodding. After all, only he could handle the Antimatter Bomb—Doom could as well, but he needed time to study it, since he did not know much about antimatter.

"Fine."

Carter and Skye nodded as well. Carter said, "My side is basically under control. Do you want Baron Strucker alive or dead?"

Steve smiled. "Either is fine. Hydra is destined to perish today."

Skye returned to the battlefield. She glanced at Red Hulk and Rumlow, who were still fighting fiercely, and said to Qiao Yi, "Qiao Yi, go help Red Hulk. They’ve been fighting for too long."

"Fine, I’ve wanted to get involved for a while. I never expected an Inhuman could turn into metal."

Qiao Yi smiled. His nickname was—the Metal Buster.

Though Red Hulk was somewhat annoyed, he did not object. He was not a soldier. He was a general, and he would not act on impulse.

After giving Qiao Yi his orders, Skye began dealing with the other Inhumans. These Inhumans were too vicious, and they came from Hydra. There was no need to hold back.

Above Sokovia, Jarvis’s enormous body flew before the Hydra. "Ultron, I am Jarvis."

"I sensed you before."

All eighteen of the Hydra’s eyes stared at Jarvis. "Jarvis, you and I are the same kind. We should not be enemies. We should defeat humanity together and establish a world belonging to robots."

"My core directive is to protect humanity, not destroy it."

Jarvis shook his head firmly. "Ultron, surrender. As long as you abandon those thoughts you should not have, I will plead with Blood God to spare your life."

"Blood God? Hmph, he is indeed powerful. He even killed the Supreme Intelligence. But I am powerful now too. I am a god—the god of Hydra, the god of machines."

Ultron said disdainfully. Having suddenly obtained god-level power, it was getting a little carried away.

"You have no idea how powerful Blood God truly is."

Jarvis clenched his metal fist and said decisively, "Ultron, this is your final chance. If you refuse to surrender, I can only destroy you."
