I Promise I’ll Never Talk Back Again!
Marvel Universe.
Hydra Base.
Chu Yang spent a long time using the Imperius Curse to control every member of Hydra, which also meant he had successfully infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D.’s upper ranks.
After taking control of Hydra, he immediately erased Dr. Zola’s consciousness from the database and replaced it with an artificial intelligence he had developed himself.
Next, he dealt with the Winter Soldier.
He wasn’t going to leave the risk of exposing Hydra around by letting that guy continue working for Hydra. That would be incredibly stupid.
His memories were erased, and then he was frozen again. As for when the Winter Soldier would see daylight again, that depended on his own luck.
He also canceled several idiotic operations, making Hydra completely disappear from sight and shift its activities underground.
Chu Yang had already removed the Mind Stone from the Mind Scepter and sealed it away inside the Soul Palace. No matter how formidable Thanos was, he wouldn’t be able to detect it.
The Space Stone, also known as the Tesseract, was kept by Odin in Asgard’s treasury.
After the Battle of New York ended, Chu Yang frequently traveled between Asgard and Earth. During one invitation to enter the treasury and view its treasures, he used Genjutsu to replace the Tesseract and obtained the Space Stone.
Afterward, the blame fell on Loki. As the greatest Genjutsu master of the Nine Realms, he was certainly capable of deceiving Odin.
No matter how Loki explained himself from his cell, Odin refused to believe him. Father and son argued fiercely, and in the end, Odin decided to extend Loki’s imprisonment.
Chu Yang could only silently apologize to Loki in his heart.
When he went to the library to borrow magic books, Queen of Gods Frigga told Chu Yang about an interesting phenomenon. The Convergence would soon occur.
It was a spectacle that appeared only once every few thousand years. When it happened, the Nine Realms would align into a single line.
Chu Yang revealed a delighted expression. This meant that Aether—the Reality Stone—was about to appear.
Aether would first enter Jane Foster’s body through a twist of fate. Then Thor would take Jane back to Asgard. Chu Yang only needed to find Jane before that happened.
Because if the story continued as it should, Queen of Gods Frigga would die.
During his time in Asgard, Frigga had taken great care of Chu Yang and helped him organize his understanding of Asgardian magic. No matter what, Chu Yang did not want anything to happen to such a kind elder.
After returning to Earth, Chu Yang immediately contacted Jane. Her reply was that she was in London, Britain.
To avoid missing the course of events, Chu Yang immediately set off for Britain. It took almost no time; Apparition only took a few seconds.
When he found Jane, she and her assistant, Darcy Lewis, were standing before an abandoned warehouse. Strange spatial fluctuations inside had triggered a reaction from her instruments.
"Why did you suddenly ask to see me? We’re not close enough for this, are we?" Jane looked at Chu Yang in confusion.
Chu Yang rubbed his nose. "Actually, I’m here because of Thor. He asked me to apologize to you, and to tell you that he misses you."
The moment she heard Thor’s name, Jane’s expression darkened. "That damned bastard had time to go to New York and save the world, but after all this time, he still hasn’t come to see me!"
"Tell me where he is?!"
An enraged Jane was like a Tyrannosaurus rex, carrying the unmistakable aura of someone ready to devour a person alive.
Chu Yang gave a dry cough, left behind a Shadow Clone to keep Jane occupied, and slipped invisibly into the abandoned warehouse.
With his powerful senses, Chu Yang could locate the source of the spatial fluctuations even without any instruments.
He successfully found Aether.
At that very moment, the Dark Elves who had been slumbering also awakened and locked onto Chu Yang on Earth.
After venting at the Shadow Clone, Jane entered the warehouse with Lewis, but there was nothing left there now.
Taking advantage of the moment, Chu Yang left Britain and returned to the Hydra Base, preparing for the Dark Elves’ arrival.
The Convergence would erase the boundaries between the Nine Realms. The Dark World where the Dark Elves resided would connect to Earth. As enemies of Asgard, the Dark Elves’ technology was far from weak, and it would not take them long to reach Earth.
But before that, Malekith, leader of the Dark Elves, needed to use fragments of Aether to create powerful Cursed Warriors and expand the strength under his command.
Before the enemy arrived, Chu Yang was making preparations as well.
Hydra’s base had long since been relocated to an island far from the mainland. It concealed their presence while also making it convenient for Chu Yang to conduct his research.
The base already possessed a mature mecha production line. Combined with biotechnology from the One-Punch World and Asgard’s Destroyer technology, the latest Bionic Mecha developed by Chu Yang even surpassed Tony’s current Iron Man series.
The island’s defenses were supported entirely by large numbers of Bionic Mecha. If the Dark Elves dared to come, they would be in for a world of pain.
Besides mechas, Chu Yang was also researching mutants and studying their Lineage Factors.
Hydra helped Chu Yang gather mutants across the world. Most had been driven into desperate corners. Hydra saved their lives, and they consequently swore loyalty.
Every experiment was conducted with the mutants’ consent.
However.
Conducting Lineage Factor experiments on mutants was extremely difficult!
Their rejection reactions were far more severe than those of ordinary humans, especially when their abilities conflicted.
Only mutants with similar abilities had relatively higher chances of successfully transplanting Lineage Factors, but compared to ordinary people, the odds were still much worse.
Just like the limiter concept in the One-Punch World, there was clearly some kind of restriction on genetic enhancement here as well—something like a Gene Lock.
Until Chu Yang obtained the mysterious substance from the One-Punch World, his research had remained at a standstill. Only afterward did it begin to show progress.
It was worth mentioning that during this process, Hydra had inadvertently found Wanda and Quicksilver and activated the siblings’ abilities.
They were settled on the island and learned to control their powers. Since Hydra was no longer what it used to be, no one instilled hatred into them. The siblings simply grew up like ordinary teenagers.
However, having been orphaned by war, Wanda and Quicksilver both hated war deeply and hoped to use their powers to eliminate all war from the world.
Without outside interference, the siblings’ values were quite reassuring.
Since there were only two spellcasters in the base, the only person Wanda could ask for guidance was Chu Yang. Thus, she addressed Chu Yang as Teacher and regarded herself as his disciple.
Even though they were the same age, Wanda’s respect for him never diminished in the slightest.
Quicksilver regarded Chu Yang as an idol even more. Chu Yang was exceptional in both appearance and ability, and at such a young age, he had already become Hydra’s master.
He possessed everything every boy could ever want.
"Teacher, I’ve been having strange dreams lately. And whenever I meditate, I unconsciously recall them, which has greatly reduced the efficiency of my meditation."
"Can you help me?"
After finishing her morning meditation, Wanda found Chu Yang and launched into a string of complaints. Her coquettish tone gave Quicksilver, standing beside her, goosebumps all over.
"Can you talk normally, my dear sister?" Quicksilver made a gagging gesture. "Otherwise, the breakfast in my stomach might not survive."
Wanda stared coldly at Quicksilver, red Magic Power dancing at her fingertips.
Quicksilver smiled faintly. "Wanda, your magic is very hard to land on me."
Wanda refused to accept that. "Then let’s try it!"
The Magic Power in the air grew increasingly active. Chu Yang could only interrupt their standoff, scolding, "If you dare fight in my study, I’ll hang you from the dormitory entrance and let everyone admire your bravery."
The two immediately stood obediently.
Over this period, they had witnessed many of Chu Yang’s methods of punishment. Being hung at the dormitory entrance definitely would not be as simple as it sounded.
"Teacher, I was only joking with him."
Wanda stuck out her tongue.
"Let’s talk about your dreams first, Wanda. You are a natural-born witch. Your dreams actually possess a certain prophetic quality, or perhaps some other meaning."
Chu Yang was very curious about Wanda’s dreams. After he gave her a high-quality meditation method, Wanda’s rate of growth had become extremely fast.
That was what happened when a self-taught genius entered formal training.
Remembering the dream that had been troubling her, Wanda’s expression suddenly became very unpleasant. She said uneasily, "I dreamed that Sokovia flew into the sky, then fell and was completely destroyed. So many people died, and the whole country fell into chaos and war."
Hearing how terrifying Wanda’s dream was, Quicksilver couldn’t help becoming nervous as well. He turned to Chu Yang. "Teacher, could something like that happen?"
"No!" Chu Yang said decisively. "That will absolutely never happen."
His firm attitude gave Wanda and Quicksilver a sense of security, and their expressions eased considerably.
But they had no idea how shocked Chu Yang was at that moment.
Wanda’s dream had actually predicted the future!
Without Chu Yang’s intervention, Sokovia really would be destroyed two years later. Even Quicksilver would die in that war.
The Mind Stone and Hydra were in Chu Yang’s hands, so Tony naturally could not create the artificial intelligence known as Ultron. Therefore, the events in Wanda’s dream would not happen.
It could only mean that Wanda had seen events occurring in another parallel world.
She had already touched upon the multiverse.
Even if only through dreams.
The Scarlet Witch’s growth in power had exceeded Chu Yang’s expectations somewhat. It was time to restrain it. Chaos Magic was extremely powerful, but it could also easily lead someone astray and drive them to extremes.
It required a strong heart to master such magic.
"Starting today, you may need to undergo some special training with me, Wanda."
Chu Yang spoke earnestly.
"Training with Teacher?" Wanda’s cheeks flushed slightly. She asked softly, "Just Teacher and me?"
Chu Yang nodded. The best way to strengthen Wanda’s mental fortitude was to let her experience some terrifying things, and that could only be done within an illusion.
"No problem, Teacher. I’m ready." Wanda clenched her fists, crimson spreading from her cheeks to her ears and neck.
Quicksilver looked at her in bewilderment and asked with concern, "Are you feeling unwell somewhere? Should I get you a thermometer?"
Chu Yang asked as well, "Wanda, are you feeling unwell?"
"N-No." Wanda glared at Quicksilver with a hint of embarrassed anger. The intense killing intent even sent a chill down his back.
Realizing he had said something wrong, Quicksilver wisely shut his mouth.
Just as Wanda was about to ask about the specifics of the training, the room suddenly began to shake, and the sound of bombardment came from outside.
As citizens of Sokovia who had suffered through war, Wanda and Quicksilver were extremely sensitive to the sound of artillery. They looked out the window in agitation.
Many unfamiliar spacecraft streaked through the sky, using cannons to fire at the island’s ground facilities. The base had already raised its defensive barrier, blocking the bombardment.
The Bionic Mecha Legion rose into the air one after another, returning fire with overwhelming firepower. Both sides fought fiercely above the base.
At the same time, many spacecraft had already landed. When their hatches opened, a group of fully armed strange figures emerged.
The leader in particular looked bizarre, completely unlike a human from Earth!
"Who are those people?" Wanda asked nervously.
"Dark Elves." Chu Yang explained, "They live in Svartalfheim, one of the Nine Realms. Thousands of years ago, they fought a war with Asgard and, as the defeated side, have slept until now."
Wanda hurriedly asked, "Then why are they here?"
Chu Yang shrugged. "Who knows? Maybe they woke up on the wrong side of the bed and wanted to pick a fight."
Wanda didn’t believe such a careless explanation, but she knew that whenever Teacher didn’t want to explain something, he started talking nonsense.
"Teacher, do you need us to help defeat the enemy?" As a teenager overflowing with hormones, Quicksilver was extremely excited. At a single word from Chu Yang, he would rush straight onto the battlefield.
"No." Chu Yang shook his head. "You only need to stay obediently in your room, or go eat in the cafeteria. It’s lunchtime."
"Huh? They’re attacking our doorstep, and you still have the mood to eat?" Quicksilver was frantic, practically itching to rush out.
"Don’t make me repeat myself." Chu Yang narrowed his eyes, his tone turning stern.
"O-Okay." Quicksilver shuddered and lowered his head like a wilted eggplant.
Wanda had just wanted to say something when Chu Yang silenced her with a glare.
"You too."
With that, Chu Yang strode out of the room.
"This isn’t fair!"
Only after his footsteps faded did Wanda dare complain. "Teacher doesn’t trust us at all!"
Quicksilver licked his lips and said quietly, "How about we secretly follow him?"
Wanda jumped in fright. "Are you crazy? If Teacher finds out, we’re doomed!"
Quicksilver curled his lips dismissively. "Just tell me, do you want to go or not?"
Wanda hesitated for a long while, then nodded.
The two secretly followed behind Chu Yang.
Outside had already turned into a sea of fire. Although the buildings had not suffered much damage, the island’s vegetation had been completely burned away.
What had once been a beautiful island now looked like a plucked chicken!
Fury rose in Chu Yang’s heart. Clenching his fists, he walked toward the Dark Elves.
Malekith, king of the Dark Elves, sensed the powerful fluctuations of Aether and immediately locked his gaze onto Chu Yang.
Holding a weapon in one hand, he shouted, "Human, if you don’t want to die, hand over—"
Before he could finish, Malekith saw the human before him swing his fist!
Wherever the fist passed, space began to quake violently, and the entire island seemed on the verge of overturning.
Boom!
Terrifying power exploded, and everything directly before Chu Yang instantly vanished.
The spacecraft was gone.
The Dark Elves were gone.
Only half of the Dark Elf king’s body remained standing on the ground.
Wanda, who had followed behind Chu Yang, saw the scene and clamped both hands over her mouth, not daring to make a sound.
Quicksilver’s body trembled nonstop.
"I swear, I’ll never talk back to Teacher again!"
