Implantation

The fragment of the Power Stone was carefully implanted into Megatron's Spark by Shockwave and the others. It was a completely insane act, equivalent to stuffing a piece of bread directly into a human heart. Bread provided energy, but that did not mean the heart could directly absorb it. Yet the Power Stone fragment could be absorbed by a Spark. And it was Megatron's leader Spark. The key was whether Megatron could endure it, and for how long. If he could not endure it, he would die.
