Introduction
At the mention of another Loki, Sylvie was clearly unhappy and muttered an extremely nasty curse under her breath.
Wang Bert smiled. "She used to be a man. Because she offended me, I used magic to turn her into a woman."
"Huh?"
The Lokis stared at Wang Bert in shock and quietly moved farther away from him. Anyone who could use magic like that was terrifying, right? Sylvie cursed, "You should turn her back. That woman is absolutely disgusting."
"I once planned to turn her back after she had fully adapted to being a woman. Unfortunately, because of certain matters, I had no choice but to abandon that idea."
Wang Bert sighed. "Honestly, I’ve always regretted it."
"Are you the devil?"
The Lokis complained. This guy’s personality was beyond awful.
Sylvie’s eyes lit up. "That’s a good method. Blood God, teach me that transformation magic, and I’ll go change her for you."
Wang Bert smiled. "We’ll talk about it when there’s time. Sylvie, what happened next?"
"After that, the four of us teamed up against the Time Variance Authority. Tony and Steve were very capable. Although that bastard Loki held us back a little, we still successfully broke into the Time Variance Authority and met its three elders."
Sylvie said, "Or rather, three Lizardmen."
Wang Bert asked in surprise, "Lizardmen?"
"They weren’t just Lizardmen. They were robots too. In fact, they were merely puppets Kang the Conqueror had placed in the Time Variance Authority."
Sylvie snorted and continued, "After killing the three Lizardmen, the judges of the Time Variance Authority exiled us to the End of Time.
We didn’t give up. After learning about the situation at the End of Time, we decided to use my magic to control Alioth. According to Tony’s guess, the Behind-the-Scenes Manipulator was hidden inside Alioth."
Wang Bert asked in surprise, "You could control Alioth?"
"Not by myself, of course, but the others helped me. With their assistance, I successfully controlled Alioth, though only temporarily."
Sylvie said, "Tony was right. The Behind-the-Scenes Manipulator was indeed hidden in the castle inside Alioth. He was a Black man from the future who called himself Kang the Conqueror. According to him, he had lived through countless ages."
Wang Bert asked, "Countless ages?"
"Let me start from the beginning."
Sylvie shook her head and said, "He was a great scientist from the future who invented a way to travel between universes. He used it to communicate with his variants from other universes and advance together with them.
However, some Kangs the Conqueror were good, while others were bad. Some wanted to conquer other universes, while others wanted to stop them or defend their own universes. So, the Kangs the Conqueror fought across the various universes, causing many universes to be destroyed."
Wang Bert was stunned. "So it wasn’t one Kang the Conqueror, but a whole group of them?"
"Yes, a group of Kangs the Conqueror, just like this group of Lokis."
Sylvie nodded. "In the end, the Kang the Conqueror from our universe used Alioth to defeat the other Kangs the Conqueror, merged the multiverse into one, and created the Sacred Timeline.
As long as nothing went wrong with the Sacred Timeline, there would be no multiverse and no multiversal war.
The Time Variance Authority was the tool he created to maintain the Sacred Timeline."
"That’s not right, is it?"
Wang Bert frowned. "First, the multiverse has always existed. I came from another universe, and I’ve also visited many others, such as the Ultimate Universe and the Zombie Universe.
Second, Kang the Conqueror was merely a scientist. How could he merge the entire multiverse into one?
Third, you said Kang the Conqueror relied on Alioth to defeat his other variants, but even you could control that Alioth."
Sylvie glared at Wang Bert. "Are you looking down on me?"
Wang Bert shook his head. "I’m not looking down on you. I’m just telling the truth. Your strength really isn’t that impressive."
Sylvie gritted her teeth. "The Alioth at the End of Time wasn’t in its complete form. It’s a very peculiar lifeform. The more energy it devours, the stronger it becomes. In the end, it can even reach the level of a Creator God.
To create the Sacred Timeline, Kang the Conqueror released all of Alioth’s energy, which was why Alioth became so weak."
"It could become a Creator God just by devouring things?"
Wang Bert’s eyes lit up. This Alioth was rather interesting.
"Tony asked all those questions just now, so I know the answers."
Sylvie replied, "First, the multiverse Kang the Conqueror spoke of was a multiverse based on our universe. Other universes had nothing to do with us.
Second, Kang the Conqueror indeed lacked the ability to merge all universes into one. However, our universe was somewhat special. Before the Time Stone was destroyed, our universe had no other branches."
Wang Bert nodded. "Because the Time Stone converged the Timeline."
Sylvie said, "That’s right. Kang the Conqueror returned to the past and used the Time Device and Alioth’s energy to replace the Time Stone. Thus, the Sacred Timeline was born."
Wang Bert stroked his chin. "In that case, the Kang the Conqueror from our universe was a good person."
"Hmph."
All the Lokis snorted at once. If not for that Kang the Conqueror, how would they have ended up so miserable?
"Kang the Conqueror had lived for countless years and no longer cared about life and death. After we found him, he gave us two choices."
Sylvie continued, "First, replace him in maintaining the Sacred Timeline and take control of the Time Variance Authority. Second, kill him and release the Sacred Timeline. Then the multiverse would reappear, and countless Kangs the Conqueror would attack our universe.
With Kang the Conqueror’s abilities, it wouldn’t be difficult for the others to learn about what happened before. To prevent the Sacred Timeline from appearing again, they would definitely find a way to destroy our universe."
"Countless Kangs the Conqueror would attack this universe?"
Wang Bert was stunned. So the ultimate boss of this universe wasn’t Tony Stark or the Celestial Group, but Kang the Conqueror!
"Countless Kangs the Conqueror with top-tier technology… that would be difficult to handle."
Wang Bert frowned. Though he had never met Kang the Conqueror, anyone who could travel through time and space and create Materialism Power was definitely a top-tier scientist, perhaps even surpassing Tony Stark.
"Kang the Conqueror’s two choices divided the four of us."
Sylvie continued, "I didn’t believe anything Kang the Conqueror said. I wanted to kill him. He had to take responsibility for my miserable life.
Steve believed Kang the Conqueror and was willing to replace him in maintaining the Sacred Timeline, but Tony Stark refused to accept that.
Kang the Conqueror showed Tony many scenes from the future. Tony nearly broke down. He couldn’t accept a future filled with disasters. He wanted to change everything, so he decided to kill Kang the Conqueror and release the Sacred Timeline. Only then could Earth be saved.
None of us could convince the others. In the end, we went to war."
Wang Bert asked, "Wait, didn’t you forget someone? What about Loki? What did she choose?"
"That bastard woman was a fence-sitter. At first, she helped Steve. Later, when she saw she couldn’t beat us, she switched sides and joined our camp."
Sylvie looked disdainful. "Then she and I teamed up to suppress Steve, while Tony took the opportunity to kill Kang the Conqueror. Kang the Conqueror was smiling when he died. He said, ‘We’ll meet again soon.’
After Kang the Conqueror died, the Sacred Timeline officially collapsed, and the multiverse reappeared."
Wang Bert said, "That was very Loki."
"That’s right. That’s how we Lokis are."
All the Lokis nodded in unison. Betrayal and going with the wind were simply part of being a Loki. It was perfectly normal. Compared to that, a single-minded Loki like Sylvie was practically a freak.
In fact, Kid Loki had wanted to revoke Sylvie’s Loki status several times.
Sylvie rolled her eyes. The way Lokis were was all Odin’s fault. She had never received Odin’s teachings, so she had turned out normal. All the other Lokis had gone completely crooked.
Wang Bert continued asking, "What happened after that?"
Sylvie said, "After that, Tony Stark took control of the Time Variance Authority. He locked Captain away at the End of Time and returned to Earth with Loki to save humanity."
Wang Bert asked, "You were one of the victors too. Why didn’t you return to Earth with Tony? Why were you exiled to the End of Time instead?"
"Because Tony Stark and I fell out. What he wanted to do was as disgusting as what the Time Variance Authority did. No, even more disgusting."
Sylvie said with a look of disgust, "At the time, I wanted to chop him to death, but unfortunately, I wasn’t his match. He exiled me to the End of Time. Afterward, Steve and I met again. We fought first, then let go of our grudges and survived together at the End of Time."
Wang Bert asked, "I see. Sylvie, do you regret killing Kang the Conqueror?"
Sylvie fell silent for a moment, then shook her head. "No. Even if he captured us for the greater good, what did that have to do with me? Why should I have to sacrifice myself? I refuse to accept that!"
"That’s right. Why should we sacrifice ourselves?"
The other Lokis agreed. Wang Bert smiled. "Sylvie, you really aren’t like a Loki at all. Honestly, I admire you a little."
Sylvie looked disgusted. "Don’t tell me you’re interested in me. You’re not my type. You look amiable on the surface, but you’re full of bad intentions. We Lokis only like pranks, while you’re a real devil."
"Why are you blurting out the truth… cough, nonsense. In our universe, I’m a savior admired by millions."
Wang Bert said irritably, "Forget that. By the way, where did all the original people from the Time Variance Authority go? You didn’t kill them all, did you?"
Sylvie said, "I’m not that bloodthirsty. I exiled all of them to the End of Time and let them taste what exile felt like."
Wang Bert asked, "Are those people still alive?"
"The End of Time is very dangerous. Other than us Lokis, almost no one can survive there. They’re probably dead."
Kid Loki said. The other Lokis nodded repeatedly. When it came to survival, they Lokis were absolute experts among experts.
"Is that so?"
Wang Bert thought for a moment, then asked, "Where did Old Tony get his Infinity Stones and Materialism Power?"
"The Infinity Stones came from a Time Branch. They aren’t real Infinity Stones and only work in this universe."
Sylvie answered, "As for Materialism Power, Kang the Conqueror created it. It had always been kept in the Time Variance Authority. That was why no magical power could be used there.
Even Infinity Stones were nothing more than paperweights in the Time Variance Authority."
After a pause, Sylvie added, "After Tony took over the Time Variance Authority, he shrank the Materialism Power and carried it with him. He was a true genius. Something no one in the Time Variance Authority could accomplish, he did in just three days."
"After all, he’s Tony Stark."
Wang Bert smiled. "I’ve asked everything I needed to ask. Next, I’m going to find Alioth. Who’s willing to come with me?"
Kid Loki looked at the dim sky and said, "The weather is quite nice today."
"Yeah, it’s been a long time since we’ve had weather this good."
Old Loki said, "I even feel like reciting a poem."
Wang Bert rolled his eyes. These Lokis were truly Loki-like.
"I’ll go with you. I don’t want to stay in this damned place. I’ll seize any possibility I can."
Sylvie said, "But let’s make one thing clear beforehand. Don’t get any ideas about me."
Wang Bert smiled and walked toward Sylvie. Not knowing what he intended to do, Sylvie couldn’t help backing away. Then she bumped into a rock and stopped. Wang Bert placed his hand on the rock, looked down at Sylvie, and said, "You keep reminding me. Have you fallen for me?"
"What nonsense are you talking about?"
Sylvie was furious. She raised her hand toward Wang Bert’s head, intending to use magic to control him.
Wang Bert smiled slightly. Sylvie’s hand rose uncontrollably. Then Wang Bert said, "If you weren’t a Loki, I might be somewhat interested in you. Unfortunately, you are a Loki. Every time I see you, I think of that guy with the absurdly high hairline.
So I won’t get any ideas about you. You can rest assured."
With that, Wang Bert withdrew his hand, turned around, and walked toward the Sentinel Robot following behind him. Sylvie bared her teeth at his back. That bald man really was no good person.
Then Wang Bert fused with the Sentinel Robot and said to everyone, "I won’t force you to come with me, but let me make this clear in advance: if I find a way out, I won’t come back for you."
Kid Loki said, "No problem. The more you put in, the more you get back. Besides, I don’t think you’ll find a way out. With Six Infinity Stones sealing the gate, there can’t possibly be a way out."
Wang Bert smiled. "Not necessarily. Sylvie, let’s go."
Sylvie walked to Wang Bert’s side. "All right."
Wang Bert said no more. He took Sylvie into the sky and flew toward the dark clouds in the distance. According to the Lokis, Alioth was over there.
On the Wakandan plains, the Super Heroes, the Dora Milaje, the armies of every tribe, and the Asgardian Battle Group rapidly gathered with the help of the Kamar-Taj sorcerers. At the same time, a pale blue Defense Shield rose up to protect Wakanda.
"Captain, we’re fighting side by side again, and in the same place too."
Black Panther hugged Steve, who had changed into a new outfit, and said with a smile, "With you here, we feel much more at ease."
