Kill ‘Yourself’! World Spine · Sea!
The terrain of the Abyss World is the same as that of the game world, only more decayed and dilapidated.
After entering the cave, Qin Feng discovered that the Pollution River, which was saturated with Whispers energy in the game world, was completely dried up in this Abyss World… forming a bottomless underground cavern.
Flapping his Death Wings, he instantly flew into the cavern, only to find that there were also some flying corpse-shadow monsters inside.
Unable to turn invisible for the time being, Qin Feng was directly spotted by those monsters.
One by one, they roared and followed him.
"Kill them first."
Qin Feng made the decision instantly.
If he didn't kill them now, who knew how long these monsters would chase him? If he reached the bottom with a horde of corpse-shadow monsters around him, that would be a real headache…
Although he could only use basic attacks, Qin Feng's stats were still formidable.
Dealing with ordinary player corpses around levels 40-50 would take at most two or three seconds.
As Qin Feng fought his way deeper and deeper into the cavern…
He suddenly saw a familiar figure — "Wang Meng (Lv59) #…"
"Well, well, look who we have here."
Looking at the roaring, decayed corpse of Wang Meng, Qin Feng couldn't help but laugh.
If only he could take out a light and shadow crystal, he'd love to record this and show it to Wang Meng later.
But soon, Qin Feng stopped laughing.
Because he discovered that right next to Wang Meng's corpse, there was another warrior player's corpse — codename 'Wind Chasing Wind (Lv66) #…'
"Who is this guy? He looks somewhat familiar…"
"This couldn't be me, could it?"
Qin Feng was utterly bewildered.
He didn't remember ever using a codename like that! Could it be himself from some unknown previous cycle?
Watching the fully decayed, roaring 'himself' flying towards him, Qin Feng felt a headache coming on.
He first made quick work of Wang Meng…
This guy was tough, really tough. Wang Meng at level 59, though from which cycle was unknown, his class was always 'Holy Shield Warrior'. He had invincibility skills from the start, and after class advancement, his invincibility lasted even longer, even granting group invincibility…
It took a full six seconds to take down 'Wang Meng'.
Then Qin Feng started dealing with 'himself'.
"Damn, why am I so tanky?"
Qin Feng realized something was off with the first strike. The level 66 'himself' was even tankier than the level 59 Wang Meng just now, dealing only one-third the damage per hit!
"It seems I really am strong…"
Qin Feng sighed with emotion.
Though he didn't know from which cycle this version of himself came, thankfully, the Blade of Judgment granted an extremely high attack speed — 25 basic attacks per second!
As for the few abyssal curse skills he threw out, they were negated by the 'Invulnerability' affix. Qin Feng couldn't be bothered to think too much about it and simply relied on basic attacks, whittling down his former self until he was defeated!
"Huh?"
"It actually dropped a rule stone?"
"As expected of myself! Such a high drop rate!"
Qin Feng happily stored the rule stone.
He originally thought he would have to clear the second stage of the Path to the End to get a rule stone, but he never expected to obtain one ahead of time.
It seemed the material drop rate in this Abyss World was really not low!
"If this were combined with the Greedy Hand…"
Qin Feng didn't even dare to imagine!
Unfortunately, he still hadn't come across a single 'abyss shrine', otherwise Qin Feng would be having a field day…
"Let's try Stripping first."
Qin Feng took out the 'Deep Sea Spirit · Variant Blade' from his backpack and used the rule stone on it…
Originally, Qin Feng didn't hold much hope.
Because, like the Stripping Stone, the probability of successfully Stripping a divine effect was probably only one-third.
But he never expected…
After consuming the rule stone, it succeeded on the first try!
"It actually worked!"
Qin Feng glanced at the rule stone in his hand. It contained the divine rule 'Giant Blade Variant', which could be added to any divinity armament dagger.
This was perfect.
Add it directly to the White Sprout Blade!
Qin Feng: "You only need 42 points of divinity to grow bigger. How awesome is that?"
White Sprout: "So it's true, all men like them big…"
Qin Feng: "???"
Apart from the 'Giant Blade Variant' divine rule, the Variant Blade also had a 'Guardian Variant' divine rule. Qin Feng thought about it; this rule might also be useful. He could strip it off together later…
This way, the 'Variant Blade' would become a divinity armament without any divine rules, but it would still possess divinity.
If given to Ghost Spirit, she could consume it to negate Order effects when necessary. Moreover, the weapon's base stats were quite high, which would still be a significant upgrade for Ghost Spirit…
Qin Feng didn't dwell on it too much.
He just continued 'descending' all the way!
Although the Abyss World had no water and no Whispers energy.
This 'Pollution River' channel was truly bottomless. Qin Feng pushed through the gray mist, descending along the narrow channel. After flying for over a thousand kilometers… the view suddenly opened up before him!
Looking back, the narrow channel he flew out from looked like an insignificant crack in the ground.
Ahead lay an incredibly vast space, stretching as far as the eye could see!
"So many monsters…"
The moment Qin Feng flew into this space, he was immediately startled by the surroundings.
Many player corpse monsters were gathered here!
"Switch, leave the Abyss World!"
Qin Feng manipulated the abyssal bracelet and quickly retreated. The surrounding gray mist receded from around him…
Immediately after, the immense pressure of the deep sea assaulted him from all sides. He could feel that, in reality, this place was still a pitch-black, seemingly endless deep sea.
"Over a thousand kilometers deep of seawater… is that even reasonable?"
Qin Feng felt a chill run down his spine.
In this part of the sea, however, there was no Whispers energy.
This let Qin Feng know he had passed through the range of the Pollution River and arrived at an even deeper part of the ocean…
He truly never expected the Pollution River to be over a thousand kilometers deep. Such a distance—if he had traveled it in the game world with his current Whispers resistance—he definitely wouldn't have survived!
And when Qin Feng arrived in this deep sea…
He immediately heard a system prompt:
——
[You have entered combat!]
——
"Combat?"
Qin Feng was bewildered because his Original Shadow Perception covered several dozen kilometers around him, and he hadn't detected a single monster.
He tentatively threw out a Shadow Blade…
Suddenly, a dense series of damage numbers appeared before his eyes!
This situation made Qin Feng gasp in shock.
"This is…"
"The World Spine?!"
Qin Feng realized with a start…
The form of this first World Spine was actually — the entire surrounding ocean!
——
[World Spine · Sea (Lv40)]
[Tier: Mythic (Unenhanced)]
——
"Holy shit!"
Qin Feng was utterly stunned.
This entire ocean was actually a BOSS? The first World Spine?
And when he threw a Shadow Blade, although it showed a dense cluster of damage numbers, he couldn't see the BOSS's health bar at all!
"A BOSS without a health bar? How do you fight that?"
Qin Feng froze on the spot.
