Kisame Hoshigaki’s Class Change

Itachi Uchiha’s Class Change

The only person Itachi Uchiha still could not stop worrying about was Sasuke.

He had originally planned

to die by Sasuke’s hand at the very end, then give these eyes to him.

But now, it seemed

that even with his eyes, Sasuke would still have a hard time.

Earlier, Sasuke had even desperately gone looking for money.

If this continued, Sasuke would soon be left behind by his companions.

"I have already felt your wish." Shen Mo patted Itachi Uchiha on the shoulder, his voice once again reaching Itachi’s mind. "You believe you should not continue living, yet you hope to leave your power to Sasuke. In that case, I recommend the Ghost Path Series Chests."

"Ghost Path?"

Itachi Uchiha silently repeated the name, a probing look in his eyes.

"After people die, they can exist in the form of souls." This time, Shen Mo spoke aloud. "Kidō refers to techniques focused on strengthening the power of the soul form. The reason I recommend it is because this series is likely to contain Fate-type Items that suit your wish."

Just like Kisame Hoshigaki’s series,

Shen Mo had first decided on the class

before determining the broader series.

After all, the Chests in a broader series did indeed contain items that would help after a class change.

For instance, Kisame Hoshigaki, who had started Opening Chests nearby.

The Contract Series.

It contained all kinds of contract scrolls, as well as Items that shared a contracted companion’s special powers or suppressed the backlash damage caused by a contracted companion. Kisame Hoshigaki, who wielded the Samehada greatsword, naturally understood the value of such power better than anyone.

He opened Chests faster and faster.

He was looking forward to the contracted companion he would obtain.

"Fine."

Itachi Uchiha made his decision as well.

He also wanted to know

whether these miraculous Chests could truly fulfill his wish.

However, once he had decided, Itachi Uchiha quickly revealed a troubled expression.

He had no money.

Unlike Kisame Hoshigaki, he had become a rogue ninja after doing barely any missions. During his years in the Akatsuki Organization, he had not run around for money either, so he had not saved much wealth at all.

"From what I can see, your net worth isn’t low." Shen Mo seemed to see what Itachi Uchiha was worried about and reminded him, "The resources that belonged to Gato are in your hands now, aren’t they?"

Itachi Uchiha suddenly remembered.

That was true.

Earlier, in order to save time, he had used his Sharingan to control some people and handle the fixed assets of Gato’s Merchant Guild, converting them into stored ore, supplies, and other materials. But afterward, he had hurried back to Konoha to investigate the man before him and had not had time to turn them over to the organization.

By that calculation,

those resources were indeed in his hands.

"That is no small sum of money."

Shen Mo narrowed his eyes slightly and spoke meaningfully.

The system determined ownership of wealth

based on whether it could be withdrawn and used at any time.

Theoretically, those resources were meant to be handed over to the Akatsuki Organization, but as long as they had not been turned in, Itachi Uchiha had the authority to use them.

"I’ll use part of it." Itachi Uchiha did not hesitate.

Using only part of it would not get him expelled from the Akatsuki Organization over something like this.

But he could not use it all up either.

He still needed to remain undercover for a while longer.

"Since that’s the case."

With a wave of Shen Mo’s hand, the same number of Chests appeared.

Itachi Uchiha seemed to fall silent for a moment.

Then he began Opening Chests as well.

And so, the two of them opened Chests without a word at an altitude of tens of thousands of meters. This was probably the quietest occasion Shen Mo had ever had since selling Chests for so long. Level 2 Chests came with notes describing their contents. Though the descriptions were extremely brief, they seemed to be enough for the two of them.

They did not need Shen Mo to say anything at all.

Shen Mo was happy to have it easier as well.

After all, by now, there was nothing particularly novel in Level 1 or Level 2 Chests. Even the Grand Prizes were merely ordinary Items in Level 3 Chests.

Moreover, both the Contract Series and the Ghost Path Series were merely transitional early-stage series.

Obtaining a Fate-type Item and unlocking Limited Series Chests was when getting stronger truly began.

Shen Mo watched quietly from the side.

"There weren’t any in the Level 2 Chests?"

Kisame Hoshigaki seemed somewhat disappointed after opening all of his Level 2 Chests. Then he looked at the ten Level 3 Chests before him.

He did not believe he would fail to open a Fate-type Item.

Which meant

one of the remaining ten Level 3 Chests was bound to contain one.

And there was even a chance that Level 3 Chests could yield a Blue Rare Grand Prize. That blond brat from Konoha had obtained a Sharingan before!

As Itachi Uchiha’s teammate, Kisame Hoshigaki naturally knew how powerful the Sharingan was.

That kind of thing

could visibly raise one’s strength by a huge margin.

Let’s begin.

Kisame Hoshigaki opened the first Chest.

"Hm?" Shen Mo glanced at it. "A skill came out of the very first Chest. That’s not bad."

The chance of obtaining an ordinary skill from a Level 3 Chest was roughly one in ten.

Skills also clearly boosted one’s strength, so Shen Mo could not give out too many of them.

Kisame Hoshigaki was already familiar with light orbs. He directly reached out and absorbed it.

Skill: Damage Sharing Chain Lock.
Effect: Bind a companion with chain locks and absorb one-tenth of the damage suffered by that companion. Note: One-tenth of fatal damage may still be fatal.

"This skill is excellent." Kisame Hoshigaki’s eyes lit up as he seemed to explain to Shen Mo, "Because I have a great deal of Chakra, I can endure most injuries."

For someone who had resolved never to betray his companions again,

this skill was practically made to protect them.

"The Items opened from Chests are somewhat related to your will as well." Shen Mo took the opportunity to advertise a little.

Kisame Hoshigaki deeply agreed, then continued Opening Chests.

He could clearly feel it.

Level 3 Chests were an entire tier stronger than Level 2 Chests!

A dagger that could teleport back into his hand after being thrown, a one-use item that granted him one of someone else’s permanent abilities after paying a price, a contract that could not be violated once signed.

Naturally, there were also plenty of light orbs that could increase his strength.

Until only the final Level 3 Chest remained.

Kisame Hoshigaki understood that his Job Change Item was hidden inside.

Even Itachi Uchiha temporarily stopped Opening Chests and looked over.

Kisame Hoshigaki slowly drew a breath.

The instant this Chest opened,

an ominous dark aura surged out, carrying rage, fighting spirit, and violent roars.

Even Itachi Uchiha’s expression changed slightly.

"I didn’t expect it to be him." Shen Mo was somewhat surprised as well.

Although it was a Job Change Item, he had still arranged sixteen Items this time.

More precisely,

they were sixteen Ghost Gods.

That was right. What Shen Mo had prepared for Kisame Hoshigaki was a Ghost Swordsman from a certain game, with Ghost Gods sealed in his arm. The so-called Job Change Item would randomly select one of the powers of those sixteen Ghost Gods.
