Kryptonian Dead, Chaos Shall Reign

"Don’t push yourself. In your current condition, you probably can’t even make it out that door."

Mera refused without mercy, using an extremely forceful method to press the weakened Beckett back onto the hospital bed.

The silent current of water moved as though it were an extension of her limbs. The ability Mera displayed was something Beckett had never seen before.

"His Highness Beckett, this lady is not lying. In your current physical state, you need at least thirty minutes of rest before the Nutrient Fluid can repair most of the injuries inside your body."

"Yes, I—what?"

Mera, who had been about to agree with Woz, instantly changed her tune upon hearing "thirty minutes."

"Fine, I forgot you came from another universe." As the Princess of the underwater Kingdom of Zebel, Mera naturally understood the concept of the multiverse.

Simply put, she could just treat them as aliens.

Didn’t the human world on land have a Kryptonian who was invincible and unmatched beneath the heavens?

Though that Kryptonian had died not long ago. Thoroughly dead, with his body already in a coffin and buried beneath the dirt. He probably would never be getting back up again in this lifetime.

"Clang, clang, clang, clang…"

Mera’s thoughts had been drifting when the commotion Woz made suddenly startled her back to her senses.

Under Woz’s control, eight mechanical arms danced wildly. Amid the clamor of metal striking metal, a pile of items pulled from its abdominal pouch gradually became a Nutrient Pod large enough to hold Beckett.

"Then, His Highness Beckett, let us begin the half-hour deep treatment." Woz, having brought out two entire crates of Nutrient Fluid, patted the Nutrient Pod’s door and grinned.

Its smile was pure and harmless.

"Hey?!"

"You—" Under Mera’s gaze, Beckett directly removed his Battle Suit, stepped into the Nutrient Pod, closed his eyes, and put on a respirator.

Splash!

Woz poured the Nutrient Fluid that had been prepared in advance directly into the Nutrient Pod. Covered in wounds and wearing the respirator, Beckett quickly fell asleep under the Nutrient Pod’s effects.

"Madam, Woz is deeply grateful for your assistance to His Highness Beckett."

"For the next seven days, please try not to let anyone else disturb His Highness Beckett, lest it affect the results of his deep treatment." The round Woz bowed to Mera.

Though it had only just arrived, Woz knew how to handle things.

It was now immensely relieved that Beckett had been taken in by such a kindhearted woman after landing in this world. If he had encountered someone overly suspicious, Beckett would probably have been sent straight to a laboratory.

"Fine, but in exchange, you have to tell me about yourselves."

"I have to take responsibility for my country."

After all, Beckett was currently within Zebel’s territory.

Beckett, Mommy loves you.

Beckett, get up and let me see the results of your training.

Beckett, please, save me!

Beckett…

A chaotic stream of images continuously flashed through Beckett’s mind. The noisy voices made Beckett, standing in darkness, instinctively cover his ears.

The sticky sensation surprised him.

Looking closely, he saw that his hands were already covered in crimson blood.

"This is…"

Beckett’s pupils suddenly contracted. The piercing sound waves Odin had unleashed rang out again, causing Beckett to abruptly open his eyes!

Bang!!!

Green Nutrient Fluid gradually dripped down Beckett’s naked body as the sturdy Nutrient Pod instantly shattered into scattered fragments that carpeted the floor.

Drip…

Drip…

"What was that sound?"

"What exactly have you hidden in there, Mera?"

"Father, you—"

When Mera’s father, the King of Zebel, the underwater kingdom, ignored his daughter’s objections and forcibly entered the border cottage she had been frequently visiting these past few days, the gaze that met him head-on filled him with fear.

Danger.

The instincts he had honed over half a lifetime made King Nereus of Zebel sense the danger at once. Every muscle in his body instinctively tensed, yet he still could not escape the fate of having his throat seized.

Bang!

Nereus, one of the rulers of the Seven Undersea Kingdoms, was as helpless as a fragile infant beneath the awakened Beckett’s hand.

"Stop, Beckett!"

"He’s my father!"

Unable to stop her father from barging into this cottage despite every effort, Mera rushed inside with hurried steps.

"His Highness Beckett, this is King Nereus, Madam Mera’s father and the ruler of the Kingdom of Zebel, one of the Seven Undersea Kingdoms."

Woz appeared out of thin air, taking out a custom black loose-fitting Battle Suit from its wristband and handing it to Beckett as it explained.

"Mera?" Beckett casually flung Nereus at Mera’s feet like he was tossing out trash. She cried out in alarm and hurriedly reached out to help him up.

"Mera. That’s my name."

Beckett narrowed his eyes as he listened to Woz’s explanation.

Seven days ago, Mera had rescued Beckett, who was covered in injuries.

Over the past seven days, because her undersea patrol life was too boring and she did not want to stay in the palace listening to her father talk about her fiancé, King Orm, Mera had most frequently gone to where Beckett was.

More precisely, where Woz was.

Whether it was stories or toys, the goods Woz could pull from its belly were clearly far more interesting than that trivial nonsense about Atlantis.

"Seven days?"

Beckett keenly caught the inconsistency in the timing.

"His Highness Beckett, Woz tried to wake you, but your injuries were too severe."

Woz blinked its big eyes beneath thick brows, looking utterly serious.

"Mera, tell me who he is."

Here, Beckett listened to Woz’s explanation.

Over there, under her father’s interrogation, Mera also explained the entire sequence of events behind rescuing Beckett, leaving Nereus so furious that he was speechless for a long time.

If you wanted to save someone, then save him. Why did you have to make it so mysterious?

He had thought his daughter was fooling around with some bastard child the former Queen of Atlantis had left behind outside.

"When you get home tonight, reflect on your actions properly!"

"Without my permission, you are not to leave the house for the time being!"

"I’ll arrange for someone else to temporarily take over your duties!"

Having sensed danger from Beckett, Nereus immediately intended to confine his daughter.

The Kryptonian was dead. Without his restraint, the world was about to descend into chaos.

To Nereus, this dangerous visitor from another universe, Beckett, was the best proof of that.

Otherwise, how could it be such a coincidence? The Kryptonian had only just died, and an extremely dangerous visitor from another universe arrived immediately afterward?

Nereus did not want even the slightest connection with this extraterrestrial visitor.

Who knew what sort of person he was?

America, Gotham Airport.

Bruce Wayne, dressed in a suit and tie, drove his luxury supercar to safely deliver his comrade Diana.

"You could have taken my private jet." After getting out of the car and removing his sunglasses, Bruce Wayne leaned against the frameless door with one hand, once again flaunting his wealth through his words.

"No thanks. You’re the famous Bruce Wayne. If I boarded your private jet, my picture would probably be all over Gotham’s streets by the next day."

Diana, now dressed in casual clothes, smiled as she said goodbye.

"By the way, Bruce, did you find anything on that Golden Great Ape?" Before leaving, Diana asked one last question.

The Golden Great Ape that had flashed across the battlefield like a meteor had left a deep impression on Diana.

"No." Bruce Wayne waved a hand.

"At least, not yet."
