Kung Fu!

If Kraft had been alone, he would have filled his stomach, patted his butt, and left, too lazy to waste time with this boring bunch.

But Francisco and Amy had come with him. Kraft did not need to play nice with these people, but that did not mean the two of them did not need this opportunity to expand their connections. Life for other ethnic groups in America was already difficult, and not everyone was as extreme as Kraft.

Only after going through many things had Kraft come to understand that people dealt with problems differently. So now, he had learned to avoid interfering with other people’s choices based on his own likes and dislikes.

Unfortunately, even if Kraft wanted to quietly muddle through this time, the others would not give him the chance.

Martin Lee was indeed considered a financial tycoon now, but his skin color meant he was destined to be unable to truly enter white circles. Moreover, Martin’s influence was basically confined to Chinatown, so in the eyes of those old-money wealthy families, Martin’s status was even lower than Hammer’s, despite Hammer having just made a complete fool of himself.

So after Slade Hammer, the vanguard, failed, someone else soon stepped forward to provoke Kraft, who was wandering around after eating his fill to help digest his food.

"Hey! Can that weight-loss refrigerator of yours build muscles like mine?"

A burly white man blocked Kraft’s path. He proudly flexed his biceps, his attitude exceedingly rude.

"Why don’t you buy one and try it yourself? You don’t look like you can’t afford it. Or did you spend all your allowance on protein powder?"

Since the other man was being so rude, Kraft naturally did not give him a pleasant response. He curled his lip disdainfully at the musclehead before him.

That guy might have been covered in muscle, but Kraft was not afraid of him in a real fight. Back when he had wandered the streets with Martin Lee, he had fought plenty of street punks. It was not as if he had never taught muscle babies raised in greenhouses a lesson before. The moment they saw a little blood, they would chicken out. He just had to be careful not to get knocked down in one hit at the start.

Besides, he now had technological products from his dreams to protect himself.

Kraft touched the bracer on his wrist. It was an arm-strengthening bracer he had modified from the Power-Enhancing Shoes. He had tested it before; once activated, lifting Fatty Liao one-handed was as easy as playing around.

"I wouldn’t waste money on your fraudulent toys!"

The musclehead deliberately raised his voice, putting on an enraged expression before stiffly shouting what was probably a line he had prepared in advance.

"We don’t welcome frauds here! Don’t think you’re some big shot just because you’ve got a little fame!"

"What a terrible act… If you want to pick a fight, just say so. This roundabout kind of provocation doesn’t suit a big idiot like you. Your intelligence isn’t enough for work this complicated."

The idiot’s eye-searing performance completely exhausted Kraft’s patience. He decisively turned toward the crowd of onlookers.

"If you want to cause trouble, can’t you find someone smarter? Or are idiots like this the only kind you’ve got here? That would be truly disappointing…"

Kraft raised a thumb and pointed it at the musclehead behind him, sneering.

"Who are you calling an idiot?! You yellow monkey!"

The enraged musclehead reached for Kraft’s shoulder. Prepared in advance, Kraft bent down and turned, dodging the man’s hand, then kicked him in the stomach. But all those muscles had not been built for nothing. Kicking him felt like kicking a car tire.

The musclehead only staggered back two steps. As if nothing had happened, he dusted off his stomach and mocked, "That didn’t hurt at all. Aren’t you Asians all supposed to know that kung fu stuff? The kind where you jump around like monkeys."

"It’s always the same few lines. I’m fucking sick of hearing them." Kraft dug at his ear with a disgusted expression. "Don’t you white pig idiots have any fresher vocabulary? Sigh… Then again, you’ve only got a little over two hundred years of history. You even inherited your language from Great Britain. I guess I expected too much."

While firing back at him word for word, Kraft quietly activated the hidden switches beneath both bracers. He was not afraid of the musclehead with his own abilities, but the difference in physical strength was there. Even if he won, he would still get hurt. Kraft did not think an idiot like this deserved to trade injuries with him.

"Watch me beat you to death, you yellow monkey!"

The musclehead swung his fist at Kraft, still spitting curses.

The moment Kraft saw how the musclehead threw his punch, he laughed. This guy not only had no real combat experience, he had never learned boxing or any other fighting techniques. Still, he charged quickly. He probably played contact sports like football or hockey regularly. No wonder those rich brats had pushed him out to be their weapon.

A straightforward attack like this was the easiest to deal with. Kraft only needed to shift his body slightly to dodge it. But with the power of science enhancing his arms, Kraft gave up evading and chose to confront the musclehead head-on.

Kraft swiftly grabbed the fist swinging toward his head, forcibly stopping the musclehead’s movement. Then, without moving his lower body at all, he casually flicked aside the hand holding the man’s fist. The muscular giant, two heads taller than Kraft and several times broader, was thrown several meters away and crashed onto the nearby lawn, unable to get up for a long while.

"Kung fu. Have you seen it now?"

Kraft lightly clapped his hands twice, then imitated the grandmasters from martial arts films by placing his hands behind his back, putting on an indifferent, pretentious expression.

The students who had been whispering and waiting to watch a good show were all stunned. Kraft’s counterattack had clearly exceeded their expectations. After an awkward silence, the security guards who had been nowhere in sight, along with the staff member who had initially led Kraft and the others in, finally emerged from who knew where.

"What happened here? Who’s causing trouble?!"

The staff member shouted theatrically, then fixed Kraft, who stood at the center of the crowd, with a sharp stare, hoping to put some pressure on him.

But Kraft had no intention of playing along. While straightening cuffs that were already perfectly neat, he looked back with a faintly mocking smile.

After staring at Kraft for a while, the staff member realized the intimidating glare he had learned from his elders had no effect whatsoever. He could only awkwardly look away, then turned and snarled at the two security guards behind him, "What are you standing around for? Hurry up and get Lewis treated!"

The security guards here had long grown used to the trouble these young masters and misses caused from time to time. It was not their first time handling something like this, but the school paid well.

After casually acknowledging the order, the two guards walked over to Lewis, who was lying on the ground pretending to be unconscious out of embarrassment. With practiced coordination, they hoisted him up from either side and carried him away.

At the same time, an older male student stepped out from behind the student responsible for receiving Kraft’s group. Every movement he made carried an air of elegance, clearly different from Hammer’s nouveau-riche manner. When he appeared, the staff member who had acted so arrogantly before Kraft immediately put on a fawning smile and quickly stepped aside to make way for him.

"My apologies. Lewis is just an idiot with nothing but muscles in his head. I apologize on his behalf."

The man walked up to Kraft and gave a slight bow.

"Felim Jones, an eleventh-grade student at Dalston Elite Private Middle School and the student council president. I have the honor of being responsible for organizing this year’s dance."

Dalston Elite Private Middle School was the school that owned the event campus they were currently in. Simply put, it was the host of this dance.

"It’s fine. I didn’t lose out anyway."

Kraft shrugged, answering with a smile that did not reach his eyes.

"Your methods were just a little childish. They disappointed me."

Felim’s smile did not change as he replied evenly, "There are so many schools participating, aren’t there? I’m only Dalston’s student council president. I can’t control what students from other schools think. Although I don’t welcome transfers like you, Dalston still has basic manners."

"Clap, clap, clap."

Kraft lightly applauded in admiration.

"You let others do the dirty work while you sit back and watch the show. You’re even more shameless than that nouveau riche from before."

Kraft believed Felim had not intended to pick a fight with him, but did Felim need to do it himself? Among this so-called elite class, plenty of people wanted trouble with his group. Felim did not need to step in personally. As the host of this year’s dance, his failure to stop the others’ actions had already made his stance clear, yet he was still talking about basic manners…

Kraft let out a cold laugh, ignored the shameless guy in front of him, and walked around him to continue wandering.

"Senior Felim, that kid really doesn’t know what’s good for him. Should we find someone to teach him a proper lesson?"

The student responsible for receiving Kraft’s group moved close to Felim and indignantly declared his loyalty, while also hoping to use Felim’s hand to vent his own anger. In his view, losing their earlier exchange of glances to Kraft had been deeply humiliating. If he had the chance, he naturally wanted to regain some face.

Felim naturally saw through the man’s little scheme, but he did not expose it. He merely waved a hand calmly. "We won’t have anything to do with each other after this. There’s no need to make another enemy for ourselves."

Most of the students watching the show shared Felim’s thoughts. They had seen enough entertainment, and Kraft had demonstrated both his toughness and strength. Continuing the conflict might very well drag them in too, so they chose to let things settle down just as Felim had.

Once the core members settled down, those who depended on them for a living naturally would not keep making fools of themselves. The sight of Kraft throwing Lewis one-handed had been quite intimidating.

Thus, the three who had initially been surrounded by spectators were suddenly isolated. Seeing this, Francisco and Amy also abandoned any thought of squeezing into that circle. They followed Kraft as he experienced life at an aristocratic school, then left early without even waiting for the dance to officially begin.

During my break earlier, I didn’t complete all the game’s achievements, so I spent the entire day grinding achievements…

Of course, during the breaks when I got tired of playing, I still wrote properly.

And watched some videos and read some novels on the side.

I just played with Zhongyuan for a while, and it slapped me twice again…

When did it develop this habit of liking to slap me?!
