"Mordo, when did you become so arrogant? No, you actually want to kill us?"

Mordo’s words greatly surprised Kaecilius. Under normal circumstances, shouldn’t he be arresting them and taking them back for trial?

"First, I’m not arrogant. I have the strength to back it up."

Mordo said calmly, "Second, keeping you alive will only cause endless trouble. There’s no one around now, so it’s the perfect time to kill all of you once and for all."

"Are you sure you’re really on the side of justice?"

Kaecilius couldn’t help but mock him. "Mordo, I have proof. Ancient One absorbed dark energy in exchange for immortality…"

Mordo waved his hand. "You don’t need to say any more. I’ve known about this for a long time."

"You already knew?"

Kaecilius was stunned. So among Kamar-Taj’s upper ranks, he was the only one who didn’t know? Was he, the senior disciple, a fake or something?

"Mordo, if you knew all along, why didn’t you oppose Ancient One?"

Kaecilius asked in confusion. Mordo had never been the sort to tolerate even a grain of sand in his eyes.

"Why would I oppose her? Master may have absorbed dark energy, but she has always protected the world."

Mordo said, "The process isn’t important. The result is."

"When did you become like this?"

Kaecilius was utterly shocked. Was this still the Mordo he knew?

"Didn’t you change too?"

Mordo snorted. "Enough nonsense, Kaecilius. For Kamar-Taj, please die."

"Arrogant. Attack."

Kaecilius stopped wasting words. With a wave of his hand, all the mages simultaneously cast magic whips, sending them toward Mordo to bind him.

Mordo snorted. A cloud of green mist rose from his body, corroding every magic whip. Kaecilius cried out, "Black Magic! You actually practice Black Magic?"

"More accurately, Voodoo Magic."

Mordo spread his hands and opened the Mirror Dimension. Countless Voodoo Corpses appeared out of thin air, surrounding Kaecilius and the others from every direction.

"You even refine Voodoo Corpses?"

Kaecilius sucked in a cold breath. No wonder Mordo didn’t care about Ancient One absorbing dark energy. This guy was darker than Ancient One—even his bones were black.

Was this really the Kamar-Taj he knew? Kaecilius suddenly felt like he was the righteous one.

Mordo couldn’t be bothered with more nonsense and ordered the Voodoo Corpses to attack. Kaecilius hurriedly raised both hands, and the ground abruptly rose, lifting them into the air.

Before Kaecilius could breathe a sigh of relief, more than a dozen Voodoo Corpses simultaneously raised their Energy Guns and fired at them. Kaecilius and the others were startled and hurriedly raised defensive shields.

The shields were powerful enough that even the energy beams couldn’t break through them. However, three mages reacted too slowly and were pierced by the beams, dying miserably on the spot.

"Energy Guns? Voodoo Corpses that can use Energy Guns?"

Kaecilius felt like he was going insane. Why was everything so bizarre today? While reeling in shock, he formed more than a dozen Space Blades and shot them rapidly downward. At that moment, several Voodoo Corpses glowing red leaped up and knocked the Space Blades aside with their crimson arms.

Voodoo Corpses injected with the Extremis Virus.

"These are the second generation Voodoo Corpses I developed. They know how to use weapons. As for the Energy Guns, Doom sponsored them. Kaecilius, times have changed. Even mages must keep up with the times, or they’ll be eliminated sooner or later."

Mordo spoke calmly. At the same time, the Voodoo Corpses continued firing, while large numbers of them stepped on their companions’ bodies and rapidly climbed upward.

"Mordo, I won’t let you get away with this! I will destroy you, along with filthy Kamar-Taj!"

Kaecilius roared. His right hand continued raising the ground beneath their feet while his left drew a circle, swiftly creating a sparking portal.

"I knew you’d try to escape."

Mordo snorted and took out a staff treasured by Kamar-Taj. He cast a spell to interfere with the portal in the sky, immediately causing it to twist and distort.

"Damn it, you actually used an artifact from the treasury."

Kaecilius cursed. His eyes flashed, and he forcefully shoved the Thick Eyebrowed Mage, who was casting a spell beside him to block the energy beams, toward Mordo.

"Kaecilius!"

The Thick Eyebrowed Mage roared in fury, but there was nothing he could do. With a bang, he slammed heavily into Mordo’s defensive shield.

While Mordo was distracted, Kaecilius led the other mages into the portal. Under Mordo’s control, a Voodoo Corpse fired a tiny Adsorption Bomb at the last mage.

The Adsorption Bomb spun through the air, stuck to the mage’s back, and vanished along with him.

"Damn it."

Mordo smashed the Thick Eyebrowed Mage to the ground with his staff. Looking at where Kaecilius had vanished, he cursed and recalled every Voodoo Corpse into the Mirror Dimension.

Then Mordo turned toward the Thick Eyebrowed Mage. A chill ran through the mage’s heart, and he hurriedly said, "Mordo, I can help you hunt down Kaecilius."

"Kamar-Taj has no need for traitors."

Mordo transformed his staff into a spear and thrust it through the Thick Eyebrowed Mage’s heart. The mage let out a scream and died on the spot.

Looking at the Thick Eyebrowed Mage’s corpse, Mordo hesitated for a moment, but in the end, he gave up on turning him into a Voodoo Corpse.

Master was right. Darkness itself wasn’t a problem, but there had to be a bottom line. No matter what, Kamar-Taj’s mages could not be turned into Voodoo Corpses.

After tidying up the battlefield a little, Mordo put on his cloak, opened a portal, and disappeared. This hunt had only just begun.

In the desert, once everyone had escaped, Kaecilius immediately closed the portal. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief. They had finally escaped disaster. Mordo was simply too terrifying.

Kaecilius dismissed his defensive shield and was about to say something when the bomb attached to a mage’s back exploded. Violent energy swept through the area, blasting Kaecilius and the others away.

Kaecilius crawled out of a mound of sand, spat out a mouthful of grit, and started cursing furiously. Mordo had tricked him again. Was that bastard really righteous?

The bomb killed three people and seriously injured another three, an exceptionally glorious record. Kaecilius looked at those who remained, his face darkening to the extreme—before their grand cause had even begun, they had already lost half their manpower. How the hell were they supposed to keep playing this game?

The mages’ morale was also low. This was completely different from the life of rebellion Kaecilius had promised them.

"Don’t worry. Blood God and Kamar-Taj have many enemies. We have plenty of potential allies, such as Hell and Heaven."

Seeing that everyone was in poor spirits, Kaecilius hurriedly said, "We can replenish our ranks through them. Then, whether it’s defeating that damned corrupted Mordo, capturing Dracula, or destroying the Three Sanctuaries, none of it will be a problem."

"Can that pup—cough, cough—Dormammu give us any help?"

A mage asked. Kaecilius was speechless. Dormammu’s image had been completely ruined.

Kaecilius shook his head. "No. Ancient One is watching Him. Besides us, Earth has no followers of the Dark Dimension."

The mages were puzzled. "Why?"

"I didn’t understand it before either, but now I do. Ancient One possesses dark energy, so dark followers can’t hide from her. She killed them all."

Kaecilius said. The Dark Dimension was a trap too. It had actually given dark energy to its greatest enemy.

The mages sighed. "Then we can only hope for reinforcements from Hell and Heaven."

"Come on. Take the severely injured with us and find somewhere to build an Altar."

Kaecilius said bitterly, "We can’t stay in one place for too long, or Mordo will find us."

At this point, Kaecilius couldn’t help sighing. After turning dark, shouldn’t I have been slaughtering everyone in every direction? Why am I getting hunted down so miserably? Movies really are all lies. What happened to becoming three times stronger after going dark?

Then Kaecilius and the others left the area, found a place to build an Altar, and contacted Hell and Heaven.

"What? You want to team up against Blood God? Sorry, no one’s available. Most of the Evil God followers died last time. It’ll take at least several years for them to recover."

The Demon King of Hell replied like this, "Kaecilius, I think highly of you. Once you break Earth’s Defense Net, all of Hell will come out in force to help you."

"I’d very much like to fight Blood God with you, but Heaven’s forces on Earth were wiped out by that bastard Mephisto. There isn’t anyone left who can fight."

Angel said through gritted teeth, "Kaecilius, I think highly of you. Once you break Earth’s Defense Net, all of Heaven will come out in force to help you."

"Help my ass! It’s all empty talk. Not a single reinforcement."

Kaecilius kicked the Altar apart and cursed in towering rage.

"Completely unreliable."

Seeing this, the mages looked as though their future was pitch-black. Some were even considering returning to Kamar-Taj to abandon evil and return to righteousness.

Hell and Heaven refused to help Kaecilius partly because they truly had no one left. Their forces on Earth had been wiped out by Blood God and the Super Heroes, leaving them with no one to use.

On the other hand, the Demon Kings of Hell were genuinely afraid. Blood God was not only powerful, but also ruthless and full of schemes. Without a high chance of success, they simply didn’t dare act.

Quite a few Demon Gods had died at Blood God’s hands. Even Serpent God Set’s projection had been taken out by him.

Blood God had already become a mature guardian.

Gabriel wasn’t afraid. Because of God, Angel and Wang Bert were destined to fight until one of them died. But Angel truly had no time recently—Heaven was somewhat unstable internally, and that bastard Michael had been spreading word that God left because something had gone wrong in Heaven.

Gabriel had nearly died of rage. Blood God’s absurd lie actually had people believing it? Were their heads stuffed with grass?

Serpent God Set felt offended.

"Kaecilius, what do we do next?"

A mage couldn’t help asking, "In our current state, we can’t even avoid Mordo’s pursuit, much less destroy the Three Sanctuaries."

Another mage said fearfully, "If we can’t destroy the Three Sanctuaries, that pup—cough, cough—Dormammu won’t let us go."

"Don’t panic. Let’s ask the Darkhold. It definitely has a solution."

Kaecilius took a deep breath and said through gritted teeth. Although he desperately didn’t want to use the Darkhold, there was no other way now.

At Kamar-Taj, Blood God’s projection and Ancient One looked at each other. Blood God’s projection rubbed his nose and said, "Master, did we overdo it?"

"We shouldn’t have sent Mordo out. He’s too strong."

Ancient One sighed. "Also, this is when the Demon Gods’ power on Earth is at its weakest. Kaecilius simply can’t find any allies."

"This is awkward."

Blood God’s projection said. If the Three Sanctuaries weren’t destroyed, how could Dormammu come to Earth? If Dormammu didn’t come to Earth, how could Wang Bert and Ancient One set him up?

Blood God’s projection said, "Looks like we can only give Kaecilius a cheat."

"That’s the only thing we can do."

Ancient One shook her head. "I never thought I would be trying to help an enemy destroy the Three Sanctuaries."

Blood God’s projection said, "Cast a long line to catch a big fish. Besides, the Sanctuaries have stood for so many years. It’s about time they got renovated. Don’t worry, I’ll pay."

Ancient One mocked, "You really don’t sound like a nouveau riche."

In a dark room, Kaecilius unhappily opened the Darkhold again. The Darkhold sneered, "After all that, aren’t you still begging me?"

Kaecilius nearly smashed the book. This artifact spirit was truly unbearable.

Kaecilius asked through gritted teeth, "Tell me, how can we destroy the Three Sanctuaries? And it has to be within a year."

"Dormammu has a little brother called Spider Demon God."

The Darkhold replied, "Open an Altar and contact Him, then use Him to contact Dormammu. That way, you can receive Dormammu’s help.

"Also, you don’t need to worry about Dormammu abandoning you. You are His only pieces on the board. No matter how useless you are, He won’t abandon you. At most, He’ll curse you until you’re drenched in spit."

"You could have left out that last part."

Kaecilius asked bitterly, "What happens after that?"

The Darkhold said, "We’ll talk about what happens after that. With your level of execution, there’s no point telling you in advance."

Kaecilius angrily shut the Darkhold. The Darkhold sneered, "Try not opening me again."

Kaecilius didn’t have the guts, so he immediately opened the Darkhold again and asked, "How do we contact Spider Demon God?"

The Darkhold said, "Simple. Catch one hundred different kinds of spiders and sacrifice them on the Altar."

"Fine."

Kaecilius closed the book again. Then a group of unfortunate mages went out to catch spiders. It took them two days to gather one hundred, and they were even hunted by Mordo once in the middle, nearly failing to escape.

After that, they naturally contacted Spider Demon God, who then contacted Dormammu.

When Dormammu received Kaecilius’s message, He was so angry He nearly spat blood. He had just promised to destroy the Three Sanctuaries, and now these people were already begging for help. They could at least have waited a few months!

"A bunch of trash."

Dissatisfied as He was, and furious as He was, Dormammu still gave Kaecilius and the others substantial help. On one hand, He granted them dark power once more. On the other, He had Spider Demon God assist them.

Spider Demon God wasn’t as conspicuous as Dormammu, so Ancient One wouldn’t notice Him.

With Dormammu’s help, Kaecilius finally breathed a sigh of relief. While absorbing the dark power, he also began gathering information about Dracula.

This time, he could not fail again. Otherwise, he could forget about ever getting promoted, getting a raise, and overthrowing his boss.

A few days later, inside S.W.O.R.D., Wang Bert, Steve, Coulson, Skye, General Ross, and the others were holding a meeting.

Wang Bert asked unhappily, "Jarvis, what’s Tony doing? It’s one thing not to attend in person, but why isn’t he even online yet?"

"Mr. Wang, Mr. Stark will arrive shortly. Please wait a moment."

Jarvis immediately replied, "Perhaps you can begin the meeting first. I will relay the contents to him later."

"That works too."

Just as Wang Bert was about to nod, a holographic projection lit up in the chair beside him, and a figure appeared before everyone.

Seeing the figure, Wang Bert was startled and asked, "Tony, did Pepper drain you dry?"

Tony in the hologram had messy bedhead, an unkempt beard, a haggard face, and deeply sunken eye sockets. He looked no different from a spent medicine dreg.
