Lei Qianshang’s death
"Boom."
The mace in A Man's hands collided with the giant axe, creating a massive explosion. What A Man had not expected was that after using his secret technique, the opponent's power had surged several times over.
A Man felt a tremendous force surge toward him, forcing him to stumble back more than a dozen steps. With each step he took, the ground trembled; it was as if the earth were made of solid ice, shattering into pieces with every impact.
After retreating more than a dozen steps, he lost his balance and rolled a long distance before finally managing to stabilize himself.
Long Chen was shocked. This Evil Path Daoist was formidable; he had actually managed to suppress A Man in terms of raw strength.
"Taste my strike!"
After standing up, A Man suddenly let out a roar like thunder shaking the heavens, and a strange red hue appeared on his body.
Long Chen felt a jolt in his heart. He had seen this scene before; back at the Juying Building in the Phoenix Empire, A Man had displayed this very sight.
At that time, Long Chen had knocked Huang Shang away. A Man had not started cultivating then, yet when that strange red hue appeared on his body, he had actually blocked Huang Shang's attack.
Now, as that red hue appeared on A Man's body once more, a terrifying Aura erupted from within him, as if an ancient desolate beast had opened its eyes inside his body.
"Thump, thump, thump."
A Man's large feet stomped on the ground like a giant. As he ran, the ground shattered continuously, his Aura terrifying.
"Take my mace!"
A Man roared, veins bulging on his arms, to the point where one could even see the blood flowing beneath his skin.
He swung his mace, and the heavens and earth trembled; it was like a world-splitting pillar crashing down mercilessly.
The Evil Path Daoist could not help but be shocked. He realized with horror that he was not facing a person, but a demon god, a bloodthirsty demon god.
The moment A Man attacked, he was locked on by a strange power. His heart was filled with fear, and he could not even muster the will to resist.
Biting his tongue hard, the Evil Path Disciple was extremely ruthless, biting off a piece of his own tongue. The intense pain stimulated his nerves, allowing his fear to diminish significantly.
There was no other way. If he allowed the fear to spread, he would be unable to unleash his full power.
"Break!"
The man roared and defended with all his might, smashing his giant axe against A Man's mace.
"Boom."
A loud explosion occurred, like a bomb detonating on the surface of water. The solid ground shattered into dust, turning into a massive wave of earth that spread outwards.
The Evil Path Daoist felt his arms go numb as he was sent flying, rolling along the ground. When he stood up again, his hands were covered in blood, and the web between his thumb and index finger had been torn apart by the impact.
"You did not die? Again!"
A Man roared and charged over again, wielding his mace, and struck down once more.
The Daoist was terrified. He had not expected that even after using his secret technique, he would still be completely defeated in terms of strength.
He finally understood a fact: his strength was vastly inferior to A Man's. If he continued to clash head-on, he would definitely suffer a huge loss.
He was a strength-type expert and was not skilled in technique, so he could only continue to defend. However, every time he attacked, he focused primarily on defense and no longer dared to launch aggressive strikes.
And even when defending, he reserved a portion of his power, prioritizing protection to minimize the recoil force.
However, with him acting this way, A Man did not let up. He swung the massive mace with great force, attacking wildly. Explosive sounds rang out continuously, forcing the man to retreat in a sorry state.
The Evil Path Elders were dumbfounded. That Evil Path Daoist had revealed signs of defeat so quickly and was now resorting to delaying tactics.
"Tu Fang, you old fox, to think you dared to play the 'pretend to be a pig to eat the tiger' game with me. Just you wait!"
The Ghost Eye Old Freak gritted his teeth and muttered. Originally, in his mind, this battle between the Righteous Path and the Evil Path could not even be called a battle; it was a trial or a slaughter.
With over twenty-seven thousand Disciples, they were nearly five times the number of the Righteous Path. One had to know that in previous years, the Righteous Path Disciples were usually double their number, and yet it still resulted in a draw.
This time, they had produced five peerless Geniuses in a row, all of whom were Daoists. And Yin Luo was a prodigy among Daoists, a one-in-a-thousand-year occurrence.
With such numbers and such a lineup, the Ghost Eye Old Freak had originally thought this would be a game of slaughter that he could win with his eyes closed, yet it had turned into this.
Before they had even made contact, half of their army had been wiped out, which was truly disheartening.
Now, Yin Luo was being held back over there. That guy who called himself Mo Nian was unbelievably powerful, having fought fiercely with Yin Luo for half a day without a winner emerging.
And the opponent had actually produced two more Daoists, which had completely disrupted his plans. For some reason, this caused a flicker of unease in the Ghost Eye Old Freak's heart.
"Are you an idiot? What are you standing there blankly for? Hurry up and kill them all! Slaughter that kid who is commanding them immediately!"
The Ghost Eye Old Freak could not help but roar in anger. He no longer needed to capture anyone alive; he just wanted the other side completely wiped out.
If any more accidents happened, he really would not be able to go back and report. Even in his current state, he would likely be scolded to hell if he returned.
Upon hearing the Ghost Eye Old Freak's words, the Evil Path army finally recovered from their shock, drew their weapons, and charged over.
Two figures dashed straight toward Long Chen; clearly, their target was Long Chen, and they intended to kill him immediately.
Those two had previously been standing with the other Daoists and were also Daoists; originally, they had not wanted to make a move.
Because they were noble Daoists, they believed that killing some small fry was an insult to them; they only wanted to attack other Daoists.
However, since the Ghost Eye Old Freak had issued the order, they dared not disobey, so they directed all the resentment rising in their hearts toward Long Chen.
"Desolate Wind Slash."
A wind blade flew straight toward one of the Daoists; it was Tang Waner who had made a move.
After advancing to the fourth heaven of the Tendon Tempering Realm, Tang Waner's Aura had become more solidified. The wind blade looked almost tangible, covered in dense runes and incredibly sharp.
A Daoist snorted coldly and threw a punch, slamming it heavily into Tang Waner's wind blade.
However, to his surprise, while his strike deflected Tang Waner's attack, it did not shatter the wind blade.
You have to know that weapons formed from Spiritual Qi, although powerful, were not real weapons and had extremely poor flexibility, making them very easy to shatter.
But Tang Waner had advanced to the Middle Stage of the Tendon Tempering Realm, and her control over rune power was much stronger, allowing her wind blade to be both rigid and flexible, like a real weapon.
Although Tang Waner was not a Daoist, she possessed a Gold-grade Spiritual Root, and her talent was equally formidable, not something that an ordinary Core Disciple could compare to.
"You are courting death!"
The Evil Path Daoist gave a cold shout, and a very strange weapon appeared in his hand. It looked like a long sword, but it had two short extra blades, making it look like a fish spear.
This weapon was called the Water-Splitting Spike. One end of the Water-Splitting Spike had no handle but instead acted like a bracer, fitting onto his hand.
Even though it was four feet long, it did not feel cumbersome at all when worn on his hand.
The three blades of the Water-Splitting Spike were covered in dense, jagged teeth like those of a Demonic Beast, flashing with a cold light.
After taking out the Water-Splitting Spike, the Evil Path Daoist snorted coldly and tapped his toes on the ground. Tang Waner felt her vision blur, and the man was already in front of her.
Watching the man's Water-Splitting Spike thrust toward her, Tang Waner acted as if she had not seen the attack. Her jade-like hands formed hand seals, and a huge arrow appeared behind her.
"Die!"
Seeing that Tang Waner was ignoring his attack, the Evil Path Daoist snorted coldly. The Water-Splitting Spike in his hand slashed mercilessly toward Tang Waner's jade-white neck, without the slightest shred of mercy.
"Ice Crystal Shield."
With a cold shout, a shield made of ice crystals appeared in front of Tang Waner.
It was crystal clear, like glass. Inside the ice crystals, there seemed to be countless ice flowers, but those were not ice flowers; they were runes.
"Boom."
The Evil Path Daoist's Water-Splitting Spike slammed heavily into the Ice Crystal Shield. However, to his horror, the seemingly fragile block of ice had actually blocked his attack.
"Crack."
After the ice crystal blocked his attack, it shattered. But just as the ice crystal shattered, a huge arrow had already arrived in front of the Evil Path Daoist.
"Gale Arrow."
That was the battle skill Tang Waner had used earlier. This was a battle skill from her Family's Legacy, specifically crafted for wind-element experts.
Normally, unleashing such a powerful move required a breath of time to prepare and adjust her Spiritual Qi.
That was why Tang Waner had ignored the Evil Path Daoist's attack, because she knew someone could help her block it.
This was the trust developed after life-and-death trials. She firmly believed that Ye Zhiqiu would definitely be able to block that person's strike.
And after the Evil Path Daoist's strike, her powerful move had finished preparing; the ice crystal shattered, and the arrow arrived.
The Evil Path expert had not expected the two to coordinate so tacitly. By the time he reacted, the huge arrow was already in front of him.
"Rain-Covering Slash."
It had to be said that Daoists were indeed powerful. Even with the attack right in front of him, he remained calm. With a shout, a curtain of light rose from the Water-Splitting Spike in his hand, slashing down toward the arrow formed of wind power.
"Bang."
The arrow shattered, but the Evil Path Daoist did not have it easy either. Caught off guard, he was taken by surprise, his blood surging from the impact, and he was sent flying backward.
"Six Yang Fist."
"Boom."
While the Evil Path Daoist was flying backward, he did not know that Gu Yang had been preparing for a long time directly behind him, and he smashed a fist heavily into the man's back.
"Pfft."
The Evil Path Daoist spat out a mouthful of blood and flew helplessly in another direction.
"Thunder Slash."
The thunder blade in Lei Qianshang's hand streaked across the sky, slashing heavily onto the man's body.
"Boom."
A loud explosion rang out, and the earth cracked. Lei Qianshang's slash carved a large trench into the ground.
"Careful!"
Long Chen suddenly shouted. Lei Qianshang felt a sudden chill all over his body and hurriedly flew backward.
But it was too late. A cold light burst out from the ground, piercing directly through Lei Qianshang's chest. That cold light was the Water-Splitting Spike from the Evil Path Daoist's hand.
"Go to hell, you bunch of damn ants!"
"Pfft."
The Evil Path Daoist roared angrily. The Water-Splitting Spike in his hand slashed upward from Lei Qianshang's heart, and Lei Qianshang was cut into two pieces. Since the start of the war, the first Branch Disciple had died.
