Let Them Taste My Thunderous Wrath!
"Not bad today." Thor stuffed food into his mouth as he spoke. "Especially you, Hong. That Solar True Body was insanely cool!"
Hong sat on the sofa by the window, holding a glass of pale blue drink as he calmly watched the starry sky outside. "That state consumes too much. I won’t use it lightly unless absolutely necessary."
Luo Feng paced outside the meditation room, seemingly considering whether to go in and cultivate for a while. "Today’s match made me realize that I still have plenty of room to improve my understanding of domains and laws."
Just then, the suite’s communicator rang. Luo Wen went over and answered it, and the image of an attendant dressed in magnificent attire immediately appeared on the communicator.
"Honored Mr. Luo Wen, and all contestants from the Black Dragon Mountain Empire," the attendant said respectfully, "by His Majesty’s order, I have come to inform you that His Majesty wishes to receive you tonight. Would that be convenient?"
Luo Wen immediately straightened his back. "Of course! Please tell His Majesty that we are deeply honored and may attend an audience at any time."
The attendant nodded. "Very good. His Majesty awaits you at the Royal Palace. A special vehicle will come to take you there in an hour."
After the communication ended, Luo Wen turned to the other three. "His Majesty wants to see us!" His voice carried unconcealed excitement.
Thor put down his food and wiped his mouth. "Oh? Looks like we really did perform well today. Even His Majesty noticed us."
Luo Feng frowned slightly. "I wonder what His Majesty wants with us?"
Hong set down his drink and rose to his feet. "It may be about Earth."
Luo Wen was startled. "Earth? You mean—"
Hong nodded. "There have recently been reports that certain forces in the universe have taken an interest in Earth. As some of Earth’s strongest Martial Artists, His Majesty may want us to pay attention to this."
Luo Feng’s expression turned grave. "If it concerns Earth’s safety, then I must take it seriously."
An hour later, a luxurious anti-gravity flying car landed on the suite’s terrace. The four quickly tidied their clothes and boarded it.
The flying car passed through the bustling city before finally arriving at a resplendent palace in the city center. Though this palace was not as magnificent as the Imperial Palace of the Black Dragon Mountain Empire, it was still lavish enough to suit the status of a Cosmic-Level emperor.
Led by an attendant, the four passed through a long corridor and eventually arrived at a spacious reception hall. The hall was lavish yet solemnly decorated, with precious artworks hanging on its walls. Some even came from civilizations that had already perished and were priceless beyond measure.
At the center of the reception hall, a middle-aged man in a golden robe sat in the seat of honor. He looked to be around fifty, his features imposing yet approachable. His sharp, eagle-like eyes seemed capable of seeing through people’s hearts. This was the Black Dragon Mountain Emperor, one of the universe’s foremost powerful beings.
"Your Majesty." The four bowed at the same time, showing their respect for the emperor.
The emperor slightly raised a hand, signaling for them to dispense with formalities. "No need for ceremony. I saw your performances in the arena today. They were excellent."
Hong answered calmly, "That was only the preliminary round. The real challenge lies ahead."
The emperor nodded, then shifted his gaze to Luo Wen. "Luo Wen, as my son-in-law, your performance was also not bad. Though your strength still requires improvement, your potential cannot be underestimated."
Luo Wen respectfully lowered his head. "Thank you for Your Majesty’s praise. I will continue to work hard."
The emperor smiled lightly. "All right, enough small talk. I called you here today because there is something important I need to tell you."
The four grew serious and listened intently to the emperor’s words.
"Regarding Earth’s protection," the emperor said in a low, powerful voice, "I have already dispatched a King-Level Immortal to Earth. He will be responsible for protecting it and preventing any invasion by outside forces."
"Didn’t you say we had to make the top ten before it would be worth Your Majesty’s intervention?" Luo Wen asked in confusion.
The emperor smiled faintly. "I watched your performance today. With your strength, all of you can easily enter the top three hundred. That is already enough to match this value."
Excitement flashed through Luo Feng and Luo Wen’s eyes at the same time. As Earthlings, what they cared about most was the safety of their homeland. With a King-Level Immortal guarding it, Earth’s safety would undoubtedly be greatly assured.
"We Earthlings will never forget Your Majesty’s kindness." Luo Feng bowed deeply, his voice full of gratitude.
The emperor waved his hand. "This is only part of our cooperation. Earth may be small, but it has enormous potential. I have high hopes for Earth’s future development, which is why I am willing to send a King-Level Immortal to protect it."
Hong asked, "May I ask which King-Level Immortal Your Majesty has dispatched?"
The emperor glanced at Hong. "Silver Moon King. His strength is among the very best even among King-Level Immortals. He is fully capable of handling any situation that may arise."
Thor raised his brows in surprise. "Silver Moon King? The King-Level Immortal famed for the Space Law? He is notoriously difficult to persuade. Your Majesty actually managed to convince him to go to Earth?"
The emperor smiled faintly. "Everyone has their weaknesses and desires. As long as you find them, there is no one who cannot be persuaded."
The deeper meaning of those words left all four of them thoughtful. This emperor’s methods and wisdom truly were extraordinary.
"Speaking of Earth," the emperor said, shifting his gaze to Luo Wen, "you remember our agreement regarding the Zerg Nest on Earth, don’t you?"
Luo Wen immediately straightened up. "Of course, Your Majesty. I promised that within a thousand years, I would use soul enslavement on the Zerg Nest on Earth. If I fail, the nest will belong to Your Majesty."
The emperor nodded in satisfaction. "Very good. I like people with a good memory. As it happens, I had someone draft a contract today. Sign it."
An attendant immediately stepped forward and presented a very formal-looking contract. Luo Wen accepted it and carefully read through it. The contents were just as he had said: if he could not use soul enslavement on the Zerg Nest on Earth within a thousand years, ownership of the nest would transfer to the Black Dragon Mountain Emperor.
Luo Wen did not hesitate. He directly signed his name on the contract, then handed it back to the emperor. "Your Majesty, it is a deal."
The emperor accepted the contract and nodded with satisfaction. "You are very confident. That is good. I look forward to seeing your growth."
Luo Feng asked curiously, "Your Majesty, what is so special about the Zerg Nest? Why do you value it so highly?"
The emperor glanced at Luo Feng, a profound glint flashing in his eyes. "The Zerg Race is one of the oldest races in the universe. Their nests contain endless secrets. And the nest on Earth has an even more special value. If it can be completely controlled, one will gain unimaginable power."
Hong nodded thoughtfully. "It is said that the Zerg Race’s life form is entirely different from those of other races. Their collective consciousness and adaptability are both extremely powerful. If one could control a nest, it would indeed be an enormous strategic resource."
"Exactly." The emperor gave Hong an approving look. "That is why I am interested in that nest. But since Luo Wen is confident that he can enslave it within a thousand years, I am willing to give him this opportunity."
Luo Wen bowed once more. "Thank you for Your Majesty’s trust. I will certainly not disappoint you."
The emperor waved his hand. "All right, that settles this matter. Next, I have one more thing to tell you."
The four immediately focused their attention, waiting for the emperor’s next piece of important news.
"According to the latest intelligence," the emperor said, his expression turning serious, "an organization called the Star Alliance is secretly expanding. This organization consists of several small and medium-sized empires, and its goal is to challenge the existing order of the universe. They have already begun spreading rhetoric against the great empires throughout various star systems, while secretly gathering all kinds of advanced weapons and warships."
Hong frowned. "How strong is this Star Alliance?"
The emperor shook his head. "It is still unclear. They operate with extreme secrecy, and we have only been able to gather scattered bits of information. But one thing is certain: their strength cannot be underestimated, and some stronger existence may be supporting them from behind the scenes."
Thor snorted disdainfully. "No matter how strong they are, can they be stronger than our Black Dragon Mountain Empire?"
The emperor looked at Thor. "Pride is the greatest enemy, Thor. Never underestimate your opponent. How many powerful empires throughout history were destroyed because they underestimated their enemies?"
Thor immediately realized he had misspoken and lowered his head. "Your Majesty is right. I will remember that."
The emperor continued, "The reason I am telling you this is because I suspect the Star Alliance may take an interest in Earth. Earth may be small, but it has immense potential. And now that it has a Zerg Nest, it draws even more attention. Though I have already sent a King-Level Immortal to protect it, an extra measure of vigilance is always good."
Luo Feng and Luo Wen’s expressions became solemn. To them, Earth’s safety was above all else. If any organization truly harbored ill intentions toward Earth, they would never stand by and do nothing.
"Your Majesty," Luo Feng said respectfully, "if the Star Alliance truly has designs on Earth, we will resist with all our strength and never let them succeed."
Luo Wen also nodded firmly. "Yes, Your Majesty. Earth is our home. We will protect it at any cost."
The emperor nodded in satisfaction. "Your loyalty and resolve move me. However, you are not yet strong enough to contend with the Star Alliance. Therefore, after the upcoming competition ends, I have decided to give you special training and resources to help you grow faster."
When the four heard this, expressions of delight appeared on their faces. In the universe, powerful training resources were more precious than anything, and receiving resources personally bestowed by the emperor was an honor beyond compare.
"Thank you for Your Majesty’s grace!" the four said in unison, their voices filled with sincere gratitude.
The emperor smiled faintly. "No need to be so polite. You are important members of my Black Dragon Mountain Empire. Your growth is also the empire’s strength. Besides, I greatly appreciate your potential and character."
At that, the emperor rose to his feet, signaling that the conversation was about to end. "That will be all for today. I hope you continue to perform excellently in the upcoming matches. Especially you, Hong. Stop holding back all the time and let the audience see what a true powerhouse is."
Hong lowered his head slightly in respect. "As you command, Your Majesty."
Afterward, led by the attendant, the four left the reception hall and exited the Royal Palace. On the way back, none of them spoke. Each was contemplating the information the emperor had just revealed, as well as the opportunities and challenges to come.
After returning to the suite, Luo Feng could not help asking, "Hong, what do you think about the Star Alliance the emperor mentioned?"
Hong pondered for a moment before answering, "It cannot be underestimated. Any organization that makes the emperor take it so seriously must have something special about it. And if they truly have designs on Earth, we need to be even more vigilant."
Thor snorted disdainfully. "Who cares about the Star Alliance? If they dare touch our Earth, I’ll let them taste my thunderous wrath!"
Luo Wen fell into thought. "His Majesty said he would give us special training and resources. This is a rare opportunity. We must seize it and raise our strength as soon as possible so that we can better protect Earth."
Hong nodded. "That’s right. But before that, we still need to focus on the competition. Through the matches, we can not only test our strength but also accumulate experience. That is also important for our growth."
Thor stretched lazily. "All right, I’m tired after today. I’m going to rest. There are still matches tomorrow, so I need to recover my energy."
Luo Feng also stood. "I’m going to meditate for a while too, to digest what I gained today."
Hong glanced at Luo Wen. "You should rest too. Don’t overthink it. Take it one step at a time."
The next day.
The light of dawn quietly passed through the Universe Arena’s specially designed lighting system and spilled into the luxurious suite of the Black Dragon Mountain Empire’s contestants. Luo Wen had long since awakened. He sat cross-legged before the floor-to-ceiling window, meditating in the soft light.
His mind sank into the world within his body. The Law of Fire circulated under the guidance of his consciousness like a blazing river, nourishing every inch of his muscles and bones. At the same time, his Spiritual Power was like countless tiny tendrils, weaving a precise network in his mind as it continuously strengthened his control over one of the nine great psychic weapons—the Starlight Sky-Rending Blade.
"Looks like you’re ready."
A calm voice interrupted Luo Wen’s meditation. He opened his eyes and saw that Hong had somehow arrived at his doorway, holding a cup of drink that gave off a faint fragrance.
Luo Wen rose to his feet and respectfully bowed to Hong. "Good morning, Hong."
Hong entered the room and handed the drink to Luo Wen. "Today is your match. This is an energy drink I specially made. It can help stabilize your mental state and improve your control over your psychic power."
Luo Wen accepted the drink and nodded gratefully. "Thank you, Hong." He carefully took a sip, immediately feeling a warm current of energy flow through his entire body. His spirits lifted at once.
