Richard knew that Banner had successfully merged his two personalities into one during Avengers 4, gaining both strength and intelligence. But he had no idea exactly how Banner had done it. However, there was one thing he was certain of: since Banner during Avengers 4 could accomplish this, the current Banner should be able to figure out a way to merge his two personalities as well.
