Limiter

Fragment of Authority: Fatalism
Quality: Special (Unique, Non-tradable, Cannot be discarded)
Description: A fragment of the Supreme Crown, condensed with the authority of Fatalism.
Effect 1: After holding it, you will be immune to Fate Aspect abilities below the Authority level. The effects of Causality System abilities will be greatly weakened.
Effect 2: You may spend 10,000 Dimensional Points to designate your next attack as guaranteed to hit, or your next ability as guaranteed to activate. This effect may only be used once per mission world.
Effect 3: This item will automatically return to the Space during the next Crown Contest.

"Fatalism, huh…"

Bai Cangshu shook the fragment in his hand. To happen upon it in such a vast desert… this so-called Fatalism truly did seem to share some special connection with him.

The fragment’s effects could not be called powerful, but they were very unique.

Aside from the active ability that guaranteed a hit at the cost of Dimensional Points, merely holding it also strongly countered certain special reincarnators.

Immunity to Fate Aspect abilities, and a massive weakening of Causality System abilities…

"What is it? Did something happen over there?"

Metal Knight asked. Bai Cangshu merely looked at the special item in his hand, which Plot Characters could not identify, and shook his head.

"Nothing. Let’s keep moving."

Bai Cangshu put away the fragment. He guessed that Eternal Destiny was probably not doing well either. Even the crown of a Supreme Expert had been shattered. Even if he had not died, his strength must have been severely affected.

The other man was a madman like him. They had both set their sights on Saitama, and failure naturally came at a price.

Bai Cangshu had nearly suffered the destruction of both body and soul. That Supreme Expert seemed to be little better off.

Bai Cangshu then focused on a line of description in his status panel.

Limiter (Activation Level: 0%)—The limit of the Transcender, infinite power

It had no description at all, nor any ability rank. It was displayed directly in the talent section, beneath Limit Break Spiral.

There was also no indication of how to activate the Limiter, nor what effects activation would bring.

Bai Cangshu had his own understanding of the word "vessel."

Everything in the world, wherever it existed, possessed a "definition." That definition was also a "boundary." It was precisely because boundaries existed that you could be born within them.

Take humanity. To be human, one had to exist within certain fixed boundaries. First, one had to be a flesh-and-blood organism, a primate, a living being.

Restriction after restriction, boundary after boundary, gradually distinguished the existence known as humans from chaos. Thus, humans were born.

The same was true of even smaller, more individual beings. The reason you were you was because of even more meticulous boundaries.

You existed within those boundaries.

Your vessel had existed from the moment you were born, and you continued to grow within its limits.

For example, from the perspective of Infinite Dimensional Space, an ordinary human was a creature whose attributes, such as strength, agility, and constitution, ranged from 1 to 20.

That 20 was the outer wall of an ordinary human’s vessel. It was the limit.

If reincarnators wanted to break through that limit, to shatter that outer wall, they had to surpass the threshold and become Supernatural Beings.

Once you became a Supernatural Being, you were no longer an ordinary human. The vessel that restricted you would expand many times over. You would gain a different upper limit and be able to continue growing.

To put it more simply, an ordinary person’s vessel was roughly the size of a milk carton. No matter how hard they tried, it could only hold so much milk.

But extraordinary individuals like Bai Cangshu were stronger than ordinary people because their innate vessels were like water tanks. They were born able to contain more.

His vessel was more powerful. That was the essential difference between him and ordinary people.

Throughout the Myriad Worlds, there were always extremely special individuals whose vessels far surpassed those of people in their own world, and even those of every other world.

Tatsumaki and Shigeo Kageyama of this world were like that. They were born qualified to become strong. Their vessels were utterly incomparable to those of ordinary people.

But Saitama was different. He had opened his vessel, completely erasing those restrictions and barriers, completely freeing himself from his Binding Vow.

As a result, he had become a monster that could not be measured by the theory of vessels at all.

And now, Bai Cangshu had finally touched upon that very thing.

He had gained the qualification to touch his vessel—and open it.

Lost in thought, Bai Cangshu was brought deeper into the desert by the black robot. A hidden base emerged from beneath the yellow sands.

Metal Knight’s true body was naturally not here. He did not trust Bai Cangshu and could not possibly meet him in person. However, the place was filled with instruments. The moment Bai Cangshu entered—

A slender humanoid robot walked over. It too was controlled by Metal Knight.

Bai Cangshu cooperated as the other party began examining his physical data. At the same time, he noticed many monitors on the walls, simultaneously observing locations around the world.

At that moment, disturbances kept erupting on those screens. Bai Cangshu spotted quite a few figures suspected to be reincarnators, but whenever a figure streaked past, they would immediately explode into a rain of blood.

His and Eternal Destiny’s actions had enraged Saitama—or rather, they had enraged the "will" of this world, causing the World Will to influence Saitama.

Just as in the Naruto World, where the actions of heaven’s will had caused the Sage of Six Paths to appear.

The only difference was that this world’s agent was far too powerful. The reincarnators were crushed with devastating ease.

Bai Cangshu also saw Infinite Dimensional Space’s prompt "urging" him to withdraw, but he knew very well that if he withdrew now, the rewards he had obtained earlier would most likely be affected.

Unlike the others, he had already been killed by Saitama once. Comparatively speaking, he was still safe for the moment.

Furthermore, because of Saitama’s changes, this world was no longer suitable for reincarnators to survive in. After leaving this time, the Space would likely not send reincarnators here again anytime soon.

He hoped to leave behind some anchors in this world, preserving the possibility of returning here.

After all, he still wanted to witness… the sight of that punch once more!

Thump, thump, thump…

At the thought of Saitama’s punch, Bai Cangshu’s heartbeat and physical indicators rapidly surged.

Metal Knight did not stop him. Watching the man’s bodily data rise abnormally across the board, he recorded everything.

"There are some problems with your body, Mr. Mercenary Tao. There are probably several hundred tiny locations in your body where neuronal flow is impeded, limiting your mobility."

"At the same time, the cellular activity in those areas is markedly weaker than elsewhere. I am attempting to activate them…"

Bai Cangshu lowered his head and watched the instruments flash continuously. He guessed that Saitama’s attack had not completely vanished along with the restoration of his flesh.

"Concept-level Attack…"

A greedy expression flickered across Bai Cangshu’s face. He knew that injuries like this could probably only be healed after returning to the Space, so he stopped dwelling on them and instead said,

"Do you have any leads regarding Saitama, Mr. Metal Knight? No, I should call you… Dr. Bofoi."

Metal Knight froze. He had understood the implication behind Bai Cangshu’s words as well.

"What do you have in mind?"
