Lu Su: What Have I Done to Deserve This?

Lu Su’s judgment had not been wrong. Sure enough, when he and Wen Jing went to harass the Demon Army again that day, a squad of Jade Grade Demons flew straight toward their position.

Fortunately, Ulquiorra’s attack range was far enough that Wen Jing had ample time to relocate.

Back at Shanhai Pass, Wen Jing wiped at the nonexistent cold sweat on her forehead. "Good thing you had the foresight, Xiao Luo. Otherwise, we really would’ve been caught."

"But now… hehe."

She felt that at this rate, they could toy with the Demon Army until the end of time.

However, Lu Su’s expression was far from optimistic. "After a few more times, it’ll be hard to say. A Diamond Grade Demon might decide to make a move."

But that had been their goal all along. If they did not lure out the Diamond Grade Demons, how would the Card Masters in Ningyuan City launch a counterattack?

The risk was just a little high.

Wen Jing hesitated for a moment upon hearing this. "Probably not… right?"

She could not tell whether what Lu Su said would really happen, but it was always better to make more preparations.

After a moment of silence, Wen Jing said, "Or… should we ask the lords at Shanhai Pass to hold the line for us?"

Her voice grew quieter and quieter, clearly lacking confidence.

After all, she and Lu Su were only two Jade Grade Card Masters. How could they possibly make Diamond Grade Card Masters obediently listen to them?

Yet Lu Su’s next words greatly shocked Wen Jing. "Although I think the lords at Shanhai Pass may already be waiting for an opportunity around the Demon Army."

"But to be safe… let’s go ask anyway."

Thus, Wen Jing followed Lu Su to Shanhai Pass’s main camp in a daze, only to be told by the guards that Shanhai Pass’s three Diamond Grade Card Masters were all unavailable to see anyone.

She stared at Lu Su beside her in astonishment. "You were actually right, Xiao Luo."

Wen Jing had spent quite some time in the Shuběi Army, so she still possessed basic judgment.

While two Jade Grade Card Masters might not be able to summon Diamond Grade Card Masters at will, meeting them should certainly not have been a problem.

What was more, the young man beside her was the disciple of Master Card Master Bai Yueming.

By all rights, the two of them should not have been turned away.

Yet now, let alone meeting them, that guard had not even shown any intention of passing on their request.

Lu Su was clearly not surprised by this result. He merely shrugged. "It’s probably a smokescreen. I just don’t know which Diamond Grade Card Master went to provide support."

He did not think all three Diamond Grade Card Masters had gone to support Ningyuan City.

At most, Shanhai Pass would dispatch one Diamond Grade Card Master. After all, compared to Ningyuan City and Jinzhou, Shanhai Pass was far more important.

Therefore, if the Demon Army received this information, believed Shanhai Pass’s defenses were weakened, and prepared to launch a surprise attack on Shanhai Pass…

Then the Diamond Grade Card Masters remaining at Shanhai Pass would give them a surprise.

"Since that’s the case, we need to put in more effort too."

Letting out a soft breath, Lu Su immediately led Wen Jing out of Shanhai Pass.

Within the Demon Army besieging Ningyuan City, a Jade Grade Demon was humbly reporting to the Bewitching Woman before him. "My lady, if this continues, the men below won’t be able to hold on."

"Those sons of bitches don’t need rest, but our men do."

"If this keeps up, I’m afraid the men below won’t even have the strength to attack the city."

Hearing this, the Bewitching Woman slowly exhaled a ring of smoke. Her pale, tender toes, painted with red nail polish, gently hooked beneath the Jade Grade Demon’s chin. As she moved, the unidentified animal pelt covering her legs slipped to the ground. "Don’t worry. I’ll make a move tonight."

"When the time comes, none of those little mice will escape."

At that moment, the Jade Grade Demon’s gaze followed the foot before him, and he swallowed involuntarily.

In his eyes, that creamy white skin reflected an enticing sheen beneath the candlelight.

But soon, cold sweat covered his back. He promptly lowered his head. "Yes, I’ll notify them immediately."

Though the atmosphere was exceedingly suggestive, the Jade Grade Demon did not dare harbor the slightest improper thought.

It was not as though he had never seen the dried corpses carried out of this lady’s tent before.

Watching the Jade Grade Demon flee the tent in a panic, the Bewitching Woman let out a regretful sigh.

But she immediately licked her purple lips with her scarlet tongue. "I hope these little mice can satisfy me this time."

Compared to Demons, she still preferred Card Masters. After all, she could squeeze far more of what she wanted from them.

That night, after having Ulquiorra fire another three Thunder Spears at the Demon Army from the very edge of his range, Lu Su immediately had Wen Jing take him and run.

Except…

"Where do you little mice think you’re running to?"

A faintly seductive voice suddenly rang out behind them.

Wen Jing’s pupils contracted. She immediately grabbed Lu Su’s arm, wanting to get away from this place.

Scht!

But in the next second, amid the sound of flesh being severed, an arm flew high into the air.

Clang clang clang clang!

Ulquiorra and Wen Jing’s cards exchanged blows with the unknown enemy countless times in an instant.

"Blazing Sword Draw! When the second book overlaps, mighty power shall reside within this Holy Sword! Wonder Rider! Dragon! Saber Lily! Dual attributes shall hone the blade!"

Without the slightest hesitation, Lu Su drew the Holy Sword of Flame from his belt and transformed into Kamen Rider Saber.

"Bang!"

Yet as a tremendous force struck, Lu Su and Wen Jing were instantly smashed into the distant rock wall.

The sudden turn of events left the two of them on the defensive.

Fortunately, protected by his armor, Lu Su had not suffered much injury. He merely felt some tightness in his chest and shortness of breath.

"Jade Grade? Diamond Grade?"

Climbing out of the rock wall, Lu Su could not determine it for the moment.

Logically, if it were Diamond Grade, then neither he nor Wen Jing should have been capable of resisting at all.

With that thought, he first cast an almost imperceptible glance at the short-haired, one-armed woman lying unconscious nearby. Then he tightened his grip on the Flame Sword and looked in the direction the attack had come from.

Only then did he clearly see what the newcomer looked like.

She was a barefoot Bewitching Woman clad in barely any fabric.

Under the moonlight, the Bewitching Woman seemed to be draped in a layer of gauze.

She sucked on her bloodstained index finger, an unnatural flush appearing on her face. Then she looked at Lu Su with interest and said, "Hm? Little mouse, you didn’t pass out?"

Lu Su’s body stiffened, but he merely responded with silence.

In his field of vision, Ulquiorra and Wen Jing’s cards seemed to have been struck by a paralysis spell, standing motionless where they were.

At the same time, Lu Su sensed that three Jade Grade Grafted Demons had arrived nearby.

"My lady, shall we take them back?"

As the Grafted Demon spoke, Lu Su’s heart sank to the bottom.

There was no doubt that the Bewitching Woman was a Diamond Grade Demon. Otherwise, those three Jade Grade Grafted Demons could not possibly be so respectful toward her.

Still, a question could not help but arise in his heart: why had she not simply killed him and Sister Wen?

Of course, more than that, what he was considering now was whether he should release Little Spider and gamble on Observer’s Gaze.

However, upon hearing the Jade Grade Grafted Demon’s question, the Bewitching Woman merely waved her hand.

Then she vanished from Lu Su’s sight.

Just as Lu Su was wondering what was going on, he suddenly felt a weight on his shoulder. At the same time, a voice came from his left shoulder. "I feel…"

"You smell so good."

"Perhaps you aren’t a little mouse…"

"But a sweetheart."

It was the Bewitching Woman. She had rested her chin on Lu Su’s shoulder.

"Whoosh!"

The Blazing Blade, wreathed in roaring flames, suddenly slashed backward, but it only drew a seductive laugh.

"Don’t be so fiery, sweetheart."

At that moment, the three Jade Grade Grafted Demons fell completely silent, not daring to make a sound for fear of spoiling their lady’s mood.

"My name is Luster."

"And yours?"

Faced with the teasing of a Diamond Grade Demon, Lu Su said nothing. He simply continued swinging the Holy Sword in his hand as he considered a way to escape.

But clearly, the only method he could think of at the moment was to summon Little Spider and take a gamble.

As for the issue of exposing his identity…

He would worry about that after surviving first.

Yet just as he was about to do so, Luster appeared before him and gently stroked his armor-covered face.

"How cold."

"But it’s all right. We’ll have plenty of time to spend together afterward."

Lu Su stood there blankly, unable to move as he looked at the incomparably alluring female demon before him.

It was not that he did not want to resist, but that he could not.

At that moment, like Cetus petrified by Medusa in myth, he could do absolutely nothing.

Move—impossible.

Counterattack—impossible.

Even summoning Little Spider… was impossible.

Seeing this, Luster nodded in satisfaction.

She casually drew Wen Jing over from afar and tossed her to the three demons behind her. "Don’t let her die."

Then she lovingly stroked Lu Su’s body again before saying coldly, "And if anything happens to my sweetheart—"

"Hehe, you know the consequences."

The three Grafted Demons caught Wen Jing. At Lord Luster’s words, their bodies shook like sieves. "Y-Yes!"

"Lord Luster!"

Ignoring the three Grafted Demons behind her, Lord Luster merely whispered, "Little sweetheart, once I deal with the other little rats, we can have a proper intimate time."

With that, she hummed an unknown tune and vanished from the spot.

Only the motionless Lu Su and the three demons remained, silently staring at one another.

After a while, under Lu Su’s gaze, two of the Grafted Demons respectfully lifted him up and swayed toward the Demon Army’s encampment.

As for why there were only two of them—

The remaining one was carrying Wen Jing.

Wen Jing, however, did not receive the same treatment as Lu Su.

"How did things end up like this?"

Lu Su lay on his back, looking at the bright stars in the night sky, feeling speechless.

He had never imagined that one day he would be abducted by demons and taken back as a bandit husband.

At least, that was how he interpreted it.

But when he thought of Wen Jing being taken back as well, Lu Su grew somewhat puzzled.

"Don’t tell me she’s bisexual?"

Before transmigrating, he had also fantasized about things like "shaving, then getting picked up by an eighteen-year-old busty JK in black stockings."

But being taken home by an age-unknown, bisexual slut was better left forgotten.

After letting his imagination run wild for a moment to calm himself down, Lu Su began considering how to escape.

"Thankfully, my life shouldn’t be in danger for the time being."

Since Lord Luster had not killed him, it meant he must be of some use to her.

As for whether she had truly brought him back to be her bandit husband or intended to pen him up as a two-legged sheep, he had no idea.

Although he had prepared himself to encounter Diamond Grade Demons before setting out, Lu Su had not expected that Wen Jing and he would be the first ones targeted.

Of course, it was also possible that the commotion Ulquiorra had caused was simply too hateful.

As the distance between himself and the Demon Army grew shorter and shorter, a trace of anxiety rose in Lu Su’s heart.

Yet even after he was carried into the Demon Army’s camp, no miracle occurred.

Some demons had questioned where Wen Jing and he came from along the way, but upon hearing that Lord Luster had specifically ordered them brought back, everyone fell silent.

Thus, Lu Su and Wen Jing were carried into an enormous tent that was clearly a female residence.

Then, without the slightest tenderness, the Grafted Demon carrying Wen Jing casually threw her onto the ground.

Lu Su, on the other hand, was carefully placed on a large bed.

The two Jade Grade Demons responsible for carrying him even thoughtfully covered him with a blanket.

As the rich fragrance from the blanket filled his nostrils, Lu Su stared expressionlessly at the canopy above the bed.

Once the three Grafted Demons left, the tent fell into deathly silence.

After quite some time passed, Lu Su blinked in boredom.

Blinked?

Lu Su froze.

He realized that he seemed to—

Be able to move?

Though he still moved as slowly as if he had been hit by a slowing spell, even slower than a snail.

Moreover, Ulquiorra, whom he had been unable to recall before, had now returned to his mind.

"What’s going on?"

For a moment, Lu Su could not make sense of it.

But he quickly turned his gaze toward the belt around his waist.

If there was anything that could interfere with Lord Luster’s influence over him, it could only be the Knight Armor whose transformation had yet to be released.

Of course, there was another possibility: she was dead.

But that possibility was unlikely.

At that thought, a book appeared in his hand.

Straw Hat Kid Fantasy Ride Book.

If Lily’s Fantasy Ride Book could help him slightly shake off the negative effects, then Luffy’s Fantasy Ride Book would only be stronger in that regard.

He had no other options anyway, so he might as well take a gamble.

"It’s just not the right time yet." Lu Su thought with a dark look in his eyes. "I still need to wait."

The Demon Army had yet to fall into chaos. If he switched Ride Books now, he would only draw the attention of other potentially present Diamond Grade demons.

He might as well wait and see whether any changes occurred afterward.

He still believed his earlier deduction had been correct.

There was absolutely no way Shanhai Pass and Ningyuan City would remain completely inactive.

Inside Ningyuan City’s military camp.

Xiong Ye asked Zhang Jingxing with a grim expression, "How is the situation?"

At that, Zhang Jingxing let out a long breath. "Luster has left. Lord Shi of Shanhai Pass has already engaged her."

"Now is the best opportunity."

"With one fewer Diamond Grade demon, the Binding Barrier’s effect will be greatly reduced."

Hearing this, a savage grin appeared on Xiong Ye’s face. "These past few days have truly stifled me."

"Those bastards actually wanted to trap us to death."

"They’re dreaming in broad daylight."

The Demon Army had developed Binding Barrier technology an unknown number of years ago.

Normally, when attacking a city, they would first use a Binding Barrier to trap the Shuběi Army’s city and prevent it from directly relocating.

Only then would they proceed with the usual siege process.

That way, the Shuběi Army’s city could only take hits passively. Even if they wanted to pursue, they would be blocked by the Binding Barrier.

However, maintaining a Binding Barrier required not only demons from the Eternal Race lineage within the Demon Army, but also several demons of the same rank to supply energy.

The higher the rank, the more so, though Gold Grade and below did not require this.

Since the Demon Army besieging Ningyuan City had dared to send out a Diamond Grade demon to hunt down a card master squad roaming outside, only for that demon to be caught by Shanhai Pass’s Diamond Grade Card Master, Xiong Ye and the others had no intention of waiting any longer.

"Pass down my order."

"The entire army, attack!"

Hesitation led to defeat. Xiong Ye, Ningyuan City’s Commander-in-Chief, chose F2A.

Inside Luster’s tent, Lu Su silently placed his right hand on the hilt of the Flame Sword, which had already been sheathed at his waist.

Lily’s Ride Book had now been replaced with Luffy’s Ride Book.

Glancing at Wen Jing, who lay motionless on the ground not far away, Lu Su tightened his grip on the hilt.

Just then, the earth began to tremble violently.

Lu Su’s heart jolted. "It’s here!"

Sure enough, the card masters of Ningyuan City and Shanhai Pass would never let such a perfect opportunity slip by.

Whether they went to hunt Luster or attacked the Demon Army’s camp, it was bound to cause a massive commotion.

"Not yet. Wait a little longer."

Feeling the Demon Army camp suddenly grow clamorous, Lu Su took a deep breath and steadied himself.

Boom!

The next instant, a tremendous crash like a falling meteor suddenly rang out.

It was immediately followed by an enraged roar. "Come."

"Die!"

After a brief bout of deafness, Lu Su was violently hurled away by the enormous shockwave.

Yet even while airborne, he did not panic. He merely yanked out the Flame Sword.

"Rubber Man!"

Accompanied by rousing music, light flashed, and the armor on Lu Su’s left half transformed yellow.

"Just as I thought."

Seeing that his guess had been correct, Lu Su inwardly relaxed.

At that moment, he felt as though an immense burden had been lifted from his body.

Without the slightest hesitation, he kicked off a piece of rubble in midair and charged toward Wen Jing, who was in free fall not far away.

A breath later, Lu Su held Wen Jing in his arms and forcibly steadied himself on the ground.

Only then did he have time to observe the situation around him.

The once orderly Demon Army camp had been plowed through by something, carving out a terrifying trench that forcibly split the entire camp in two.

Meanwhile, thunderous booms and incredibly powerful gusts of wind continued to echo from the far distance.

Just as Lu Su was about to leave, a sudden sense of danger from behind made him halt. He immediately turned and used the Sword Body of the Flame Sword to block the incoming attack.

"Lord Luster said you weren’t allowed to go anywhere."

The attackers were the three Jade Grade Grafted Demons who had carried Lu Su and Wen Jing back.

Clearly, as Luster’s lackeys, their tent was not far from hers.

Thus, the moment the disturbance began, the three Grafted Demons had rushed over to ensure that the Card Master Lord Luster had specifically ordered them to protect remained unharmed.

What they had not expected was that the Card Master had actually regained the ability to move.

Seeing the three Jade Grade Grafted Demons staring at him with ill intent, Lu Su sighed softly. "Since you want to die so badly, I’ll grant your wish."

Even with one arm holding Wen Jing and deep within the Demon Army’s territory, Lu Su was still invincible in this world!

Provided that a certain beast-milk-loving someone was not around.

As blazing flames gradually coiled around the Holy Sword in Lu Su’s hand, expressionless Ulquiorra appeared at his side.

In the blink of an eye, Ulquiorra was standing before the three demons, a jade-green Spirit Spear in hand.

However, the three demons had no time to pay attention to Ulquiorra.

Because—

Sweetheart, whom Lord Luster had specifically ordered them to protect, had run away.

As he ran, Lu Su could not help grumbling inwardly, Did they really take me for a fucking idiot?

He was not Ouma Shu. There was no way he would pull off some move like killing enemies while carrying a girl in his arms.

At a time like this, running came first.

Yet gradually, Lu Su came to a stop.

Just as the three Grafted Demons were utterly baffled, they saw the young man place the short-haired woman in his arms on the ground.

The leading Grafted Demon froze for a moment before asking coldly, "What? Not running anymore?"

Lu Su did not answer. He merely turned around and drew his sword.

Seeing the blazing blade already before his face, the Jade Grade Grafted Demon who had spoken had his pupils constrict.

Because Luster had been present earlier, the three demons had never realized what kind of monster they were facing.

Barely raising his weapon to block Lu Su’s first attack, the leading Grafted Demon roared with difficulty, "Go grab that wom—"

Before he could finish, despair filled his face.

At the far end of his vision, countless cards were charging toward the Demon Army’s encampment.

Clearly, the Card Masters of Ningyuan City had launched their attack.

That was why Lu Su had stopped running.

Before he could say anything else, the leading demon’s mouth was silenced forever.

Ignoring the Grafted Demon beside him who had been beheaded with a single strike, Lu Su merely shifted slightly and said softly, "First."

Seeing their leader instantly killed by one sword strike, the remaining two Grafted Demons trembled violently.

How could Ulquiorra possibly miss such a perfect opportunity? He immediately drove his jade-green Spirit Spear straight through one of the Grafted Demons.

Splat!

Previously, Lu Su and Ulquiorra had not acted only because they feared drawing attention. It would have been troublesome if they caught the notice of the Demon Army’s officers.

While Lu Su himself would not have been in any danger, Wen Jing, who was still unconscious, would likely have had no chance of surviving.

However, just as Lu Su swiftly dealt with the last of the trio and prepared to leave this dangerous place, a somewhat startled voice sounded beside his ear.

"Junior Disciple?"

"Why are you here?"
