Magic Armor vs. High-Temperature Armor

Odin had suffered a devastating blow and was completely speechless. His son was no different from a husky.

"Blood God."

Frigga was somewhat displeased. No matter how foolish Thor was, he was still her son.

"Sorry."

Wang Bert shrugged and said, "Queen of Asgard, Little Hela is doing very well now. If you have time, you can visit her on Earth. She has become a normal girl again.

"A normal girl who likes listening to stories, playing games, and giggling and joking around with her friends."

"Really?"

Frigga said in delighted surprise, "Blood God, you’re incredible. You even managed to straighten Hela out."

Odin said sourly, "Incredible my ass. All he did was teach Hela how to play."

Wang Bert said loudly, "Isn’t that enough? Odin, I gave her back the childhood she lost."

Odin fell silent. Frigga sighed and walked over to his side. "The Blood God’s method is right."

"I never said he was wrong," Odin muttered.

Frigga smiled. "You’re just jealous of him. You wish you were the one by Little Hela’s side, not him. Everything you said before was really just an excuse to beat him up, wasn’t it?"

Odin smiled awkwardly. This battle had been entirely born from a father’s jealousy.

Wang Bert shrugged and said, "You can come to Earth and play with Hela too. Hela probably won’t mind having another white-bearded grandpa."

"Really?"

Odin was overjoyed, then sighed. "No, going there might provoke her. Besides, I’m her father, not her grandfather."

"I’ll go first. You can go later."

Frigga said, "Blood God, thank you."

"You’re welcome. Little Hela is my disciple. It’s what I should do."

Wang Bert turned to Odin and said, "Odin, I don’t know what expectations you have for Hela, but I only hope Little Hela can grow up healthy. I hope you understand that."

Odin had wanted to argue, but after thinking of something, he sighed. "We’ll do as you say. However, you need to find a way to strengthen Little Hela’s consciousness. She’s only a part of Hela. One day, Hela will definitely reclaim her."

"I won’t allow that."

Wang Bert said firmly, "In the future, she will replace Hela. Hela will not replace her."

"I hope so too."

Odin shook his head, straightened up, and said, "Blood God, I acknowledge your status as a Guardian. As long as you and Ancient One live, Earth shall enjoy freedom."

"Thank you, All-Father."

Wang Bert solemnly bowed. Asgard did not interfere in Earth’s affairs, yet it protected Earth’s safety. By all rights, humanity should show Asgard some respect.

"Blood God, you still lack a trump card."

Odin reminded him, "Ancient One has a trump card. Not only can it ensure that no demon god can kill him, but it can also drive those powerful demon gods to collapse. If you want to be a Guardian, you need such a trump card as well."

"I have one."

Wang Bert said, "Take you as an example, Odin. If you wanted to kill me, I would immediately escape and then attack your territory. Aside from you, no one in Asgard is my match. By then, Odin, you would become a commander without an army."

Odin sneered. "You think I’d let you escape?"

Wang Bert smiled faintly and vanished directly. Odin froze, then sensed for a moment and discovered that Wang Bert was on Earth!

A moment later, Wang Bert appeared again. He said, "My trump card is that as long as I want to escape, no one can stop me. That way, unless the other side wants to become a commander without an army, they will never dare lay a hand on Earth!"

"Your Kamar-Taj methods are disgusting, one worse than the next."

Odin cursed irritably. "Quite a few demon gods travel alone. This move is useless against them. You need a stronger trump card."

"I’ll take it slowly. I’m not a Guardian yet."

Wang Bert smiled. "I still have time."

"That’s true."

Odin nodded. Remembering something, he said, "Blood God, Earth already has three Infinity Stones. It can’t have any more, or the Council of Elders of the Universe will intervene. They have explicitly decreed that the Infinity Stones must not be gathered together."

"Elders of the Universe?"

Wang Bert narrowed his eyes. "The Collector and Grandmaster?"

"Yes. They were the first beings in the universe. Every one of them is immensely powerful. More importantly, they are immortal and have vast amounts of energy and free time."

Odin said, "If you can avoid offending them, do your best to avoid it."

"I understand."

Wang Bert nodded. In the movies, had Thanos chosen to seize all the Infinity Stones within a short period because he feared the Elders of the Universe? Odin continued, "We’ll formally discuss the Convergence tomorrow. Don’t worry, it’s nothing major."

"Nothing major?"

Wang Bert said with a half-smile, "My Master said the Dark Elves aren’t dead."

"What? The Dark Elves aren’t dead? That’s impossible!"

Odin and Frigga cried out at the same time. Wang Bert said, "My Master said that during the Convergence, she saw the Dark Elves."

"If the Dark Elves aren’t dead, then this will be troublesome."

Odin frowned. "I will discuss this matter with you properly, but before that, there is something else I need to do."

Wang Bert asked, "What is it?"

"Deal with my good-for-nothing son."

Odin gritted his teeth. The next moment, he transformed into a streak of lightning, rushed outside, grabbed Thor, and flew toward the arena.

Thor shouted, "Father, what are you doing? I still need to drink with Tony and the others!"

"You still have the nerve to drink? You are Thor, yet you can’t even release a single bolt of lightning. Are you the God of Thunder or the God of Hammers? Today, I will teach you a proper lesson. Unless you can release lightning, don’t even think about leaving the arena."

Odin roared. Everyone burst into laughter. Clearly, Odin was settling scores after the fact. Thor was in for it this time.

That’s what you get for talking nonsense!

After Odin left, Frigga asked Wang Bert, "Blood God, can Loki really not recover?"

"Unless I die."

Wang Bert said, "Queen of Asgard, this is the punishment Loki deserves. By the way, how is she doing now?"

"You should use ‘she,’ not ‘he.’"

Frigga said, "How should I put it? She still can’t accept her gender, but she has become very concerned with her appearance. She even looks for hair-care shampoo every day."

"She’s just afraid of losing her hair."

Wang Bert smiled. "Queen of Asgard, you don’t seem to mind this much?"

"I’ve always wanted a daughter."

Frigga smiled. "I picked out many beautiful clothes for her. She acts like she doesn’t like them, but secretly wears them behind my back."

"That’s a good thing."

Wang Bert laughed. Loki, once you get used to being a woman, I’ll change you back.

Don’t thank me. It’s what I should do.

That night, Wang Bert, Ivan, Frank, and the others held a bonfire party in an Asgardian square. Thor, the host, did not attend. It was not because he was being rude, but because he was receiving Odin’s education of "love."

That was right. Odin had beaten Thor for an entire day without stopping. This time, Odin was determined to make Thor release lightning.

Otherwise, it would be far too embarrassing! Besides drinking and celebrating, the bonfire party also offered a battle to watch: Ivan and Tony, the old rivals, were fighting again.

"Place your bets! Tony pays three to one, Ivan pays one to three."

Wang Bert shouted while drinking. Tony glared at him and yelled, "Bert, why are my odds so low?"

"Because you spend so much time in the study."

Wang Bert smiled, and everyone burst into laughter. Tony roared in embarrassment and anger, "Who told this bastard? Don’t you people know what privacy is?"

Wang Bert swore solemnly, "Tony, don’t worry. We absolutely won’t publicize the fact that you often hide in the study all over Earth. Absolutely not."

"Bastard."

Tony gritted his teeth. That guy would definitely publicize it everywhere. Thinking of the media resources in Wang Bert’s hands made Tony want to die.

Ivan shouted, "Sissy, since you can’t do it, give Pepper to me. I’ll make her happy."

"Get lost. What part of me can’t do it?"

Tony snorted. "Let’s see how much you’ve improved over the past half year! Don’t think you’re the only one fighting. I’ve been fighting every day on Earth too."

"Let me show you my Magic Suit. I hope it doesn’t scare you to death."

Ivan slammed his fists together. The two black bracelets on his wrists lit up with dazzling black light at the same time, covering his entire body.

A moment later, the black light vanished, revealing a tough-looking black double-whip armor on Ivan’s body.

"Cool!"

Everyone applauded. Dr. Richards shouted, "Instantly equipped and portable. Tony, just on that point alone, the Magic Suit is far superior to your armor."

"Whose side are you on?"

Tony snapped. He tapped his watch, and a red suit of armor descended from the sky and instantly equipped itself onto him.

Everyone shook their heads. Though it was also fast, it was far behind the Magic Suit.

"Outdated technology."

Ivan smiled disdainfully and swung the steel whip in his right hand down hard at Tony. Tony nimbly dodged and raised his hand, firing an energy cannon at Ivan.

Ivan did not dodge. Energy light flared across his armor, forcibly blocking the energy cannon.

"An energy shield?"

Tony was somewhat surprised. Ivan said proudly, "That’s right. Wakanda’s energy shield technology combined with Dwarven rune technology."

Tony’s teeth ached. Before he could say anything, Ivan lashed out repeatedly with both whips, launching a fierce assault.

As Tony dodged, he sneered, "Your attacks are so advanced, maniac."

Ivan gave a cold laugh. The steel whip in his right hand suddenly transformed into an Energy Lightning Cannon, rapidly extending and wrapping around Tony’s waist.

Immediately afterward, the steel whip in Ivan’s left hand also transformed into an Energy Lightning Cannon and lashed fiercely across Tony’s chest, tearing a huge gash in the armor.

"You have a good eye. My attacks really are advanced. Oh, and it can also fire an Energy Lightning Cannon. Want to give it a try?"

Ivan laughed loudly as he raised the electric whip in his left hand. The whip rapidly transformed into an Energy Lightning Cannon, lightning flickering at its muzzle in a terrifying display.

"Cool!"

Everyone applauded again. Dr. Richards shouted, "Transforming energy weapons, pure defensive armor—Ivan, your Magic Suit is truly excellent."

"I already asked you, whose side are you on?"

Tony snapped. "You’ve been working with me for the past half year, haven’t you?"

Dr. Richards was a little embarrassed. "I’m only telling the truth."

"Sissy, surrender. Your armor’s performance has improved quite a bit, but my advancement is revolutionary."

Ivan said, "I’ve recently been learning forging from the Dwarves. Since I can’t beat you in technology, I’ll overtake you on a curve and focus on developing magic technology."

"You think you’re the only one improving? Jarvis, inject the Extremis Virus and activate Extremis Mode."

Tony roared. Jarvis received the order and injected the standard Extremis Virus into Tony’s body. Immediately afterward, the temperature of the red armor rose sharply, and the crack in its chest rapidly healed at a visible rate.

"Break!"

Tony shouted. Two crimson Vibranium short swords sprang from the backs of his hands. With a powerful slash, he directly severed the Energy Lightning Cannon.

That was right. Tony finally had Vibranium weapons.

"High-Temperature Armor? A self-healing High-Temperature Armor?"

Ivan retracted his energy whips and asked in surprise, "Wait, sissy, aren’t you afraid of burning to death?"

"I injected the Extremis Virus. Why would I burn to death?"

Tony sneered. "My armor incorporates the core of a Fire Giant. It can not only unleash high-temperature attacks, but also heal itself. Maniac, you’re not the only one improving. How could I, Tony Stark, be inferior to you?"

"Hahahaha!"

Ivan was not angry. Instead, he was extremely pleased. "Excellent, Tony Stark. You haven’t disappointed me. Only someone like you is qualified to be defeated by me."

"Like you can defeat me."

Tony snorted. Thinking of something, he turned to the others and said, "I hide in the study every day because I was injecting the Extremis Virus, not because I can’t do it."

"We understand."

Everyone wore expressions of complete understanding. Tony lost it and shouted, "I’m telling the truth! To minimize the damage from the Extremis Virus, I’ve been constantly adjusting it."

"Understood, understood."

Everyone continued nodding. Tony’s mentality completely exploded. He turned and fired a High-Temperature Light Beam at Ivan. Ivan retaliated with a Lightning Beam. The two beams collided fiercely in midair, neither giving way, twisting the surrounding space.

"Tony Stark and Ivan Vanko have not disappointed me."

Wang Bert nodded in satisfaction, then asked Dr. Banner, "How have the past half year been?"

"Not bad. I researched many things and gained a lot. Hulk is happy too—he gets to fight every day."

Banner smiled. "Getting out and traveling really does improve one’s mood."

"Is that all? I heard you’re very popular with Asgardian beauties?"

Wang Bert smiled. Banner shook his head. "Hulk is popular, not me. Asgardian women like muscular men most. A skinny scholar like me only gets despised by them."

Wang Bert rubbed his chin and asked, "If Hulk did something with beautiful women, would that count as Betty being cheated on?"

"You’re overthinking it."

Banner said irritably, "Hulk has been missing Betty. So have I."

Half a year ago, Betty had returned to Earth because of General Ross.

"Then come back to Earth with me this time."

Wang Bert said, "Let me make this clear in advance: don’t plead for mercy. General Ross brought this upon himself."

"Believe me, I have no desire to plead for mercy at all."

Banner shrugged. At that moment, a figure quietly walked over. Seeing Wang Bert, she was overjoyed and said excitedly, "Blood God, it’s great that you’re here."

Everyone turned to look. The newcomer was actually Maria Hill!
