Magic Is Very Simple

"Odin certainly exists."

Chen Mu nodded and continued, "Thor is his son. And I’ve met Odin too. Hmm, he’s just a stubborn old man."

Chen Mu shrugged and curled his lip.

That old Odin really was petty, not even as generous as his wife.

Look, when they had talked about giving the Tablet of Life to Chen Mu, Odin had looked utterly reluctant. He only agreed to hand it over after deciding Chen Mu had no way to decipher the human Life Equation.

Of course, Chen Mu did not particularly care for the thing, since the system had already analyzed it. Still, it was a treasure, and if he could have it, there was no reason to refuse, right?

But this alone showed just how stingy Odin truly was.

Leaving aside everything else, Odin really was a stubborn old man. Just look at how he treated Loki.

Though he constantly claimed to treat his two sons equally, he still treated them differently in reality. After all, Thor was his biological son, while Loki was only adopted.

Still, more than a thousand years of affection could not have been faked. To put it bluntly, if you raised a dog for over a thousand years, the bond between you would be incredibly deep too.

That was why Loki cared so deeply about Asgard.

After all, with so much time having passed, those feelings were indeed real.

"…"

So the Tesseract belonged to Odin. Wasn’t S.H.I.E.L.D. offending someone by doing this?

"Moreover, the Tesseract is an exceptionally powerful treasure in this universe. Its true name is the Space Stone, one of the six Infinity Stones that existed at the birth of the universe, and it possesses supreme power."

"When S.H.I.E.L.D. began studying the Infinity Stones and developing their energy into weapons, it was equivalent to announcing to the entire universe that Earth was ready for interstellar war and prepared to declare war on the whole universe."

"…"

Tony’s face darkened when he heard this. He did not know whether the Infinity Stones Chen Mu spoke of were real, but hearing that S.H.I.E.L.D.’s research into them amounted to provoking the entire universe left him utterly exhausted.

Just look at what those people from S.H.I.E.L.D. had done.

And wasn’t Loki able to be teleported to Earth precisely because S.H.I.E.L.D. had been studying the Tesseract? Loki had exploited the Space Stone’s power, used the Mind Stone’s power to establish contact, and teleported himself to Earth.

Tony did not doubt Chen Mu’s words, because Chen Mu had no reason to lie to him, and what Chen Mu said made a great deal of sense.

Take Earth as an example. Studying the power of the Infinity Stones was like a small nation developing nuclear weapons. Did he think the advanced nations on Earth would allow that small country to continue researching nuclear weapons?

Leaving aside anything else, America alone would immediately wield the sanction stick and wipe that small country out!

By the same logic, the universe was surely no different.

When Earth began researching the Infinity Stones, it was no different from some small country on Earth developing nuclear weapons. If other civilizations did not come looking for trouble with Earth, that would be the strange part!

"My China spent a long time and vast sums of money establishing a defensive line in space beyond Earth, intended to guard against threats from outer space."

Chen Mu sighed, looked at Tony somewhat speechlessly, and continued,

"But if an alien civilization attacks Earth from within, it will breach our defensive line and cause irreparable consequences."

"And the Tesseract’s power can easily open a portal on Earth leading to distant space. That way, enemy forces can directly bypass our defensive perimeter."

It was like China painstakingly establishing a space defense network, only to have a pig-headed teammate right there on Earth.

"Tell me, can S.H.I.E.L.D. stop making people worry?"

Chen Mu sighed and spoke irritably.

Chen Mu had once again witnessed S.H.I.E.L.D.’s ability to stir up trouble.

"…"

Tony had nothing to say in response to Chen Mu’s words.

"Forget it, I’m getting angry just talking about it."

Chen Mu curled his lip and finished speaking irritably. With a swipe of his right hand, a portal appeared before them.

On the other side of the portal was Tony’s Stark Tower.

Chen Mu had been to Stark Tower before, so he could open a portal there directly.

Nick Fury and the other S.H.I.E.L.D. agents were currently out at sea. Chen Mu could not be bothered to look for them, so he simply came straight to Tony and had someone pick him up.

"So this is magic?"

Seeing the portal with his own eyes again, Tony was deeply intrigued. He took a single step back into his own living room, marveling at it.

"How about it? Interested in studying for a while?"

Chen Mu remained quite determined to get Iron Man Tony Stark to learn magic.

"…"

Tony remained silent. He wanted to, but once he heard it was a school in China, he felt too embarrassed to say anything.

Schools in China were for school-age students. In other words, they were all young people. What did Chen Mu mean by telling him to attend school?

Was he trying to make a joke out of him?

The renowned Iron Man Tony Stark, going to school with a bunch of seventeen- or eighteen-year-olds?

How could Chen Mu even come up with that?

"I’d like to visit the Magic School too, but our age seems… a little unsuitable, doesn’t it?"

Dr. Banner, standing nearby, wore an awkward expression. Although he was Hulk, who would not want to casually cast cool and flashy magic?

At any rate, Bruce Banner certainly did.

Tony, standing beside him, wore an expression of complete agreement. Sure enough, Bruce Banner was the one who understood him best.

No wonder they were kindred spirits. They thought alike.

Bruce Banner was naturally very interested in magic as well.

This was probably how every scientific scholar approached entirely new knowledge: with curiosity, never with intense hatred.

"I see."

Chen Mu finally understood. So this was why Tony did not want to go to the Magic School?

Still, it made sense. For an important figure like Tony to go to a school filled entirely with young people would certainly be rather unsuitable.

"It’s fine. As long as you grasp the key points, learning magic is actually very easy."

As for the key points of magic, they were naturally the magic circuits for each spell. As long as one could memorize a spell’s magic circuit and accurately draw it with magical power, one could naturally cast the spell.

Because of the system, Chen Mu had long since analyzed a large number of spells one by one, extracted their magic circuits, classified them according to spell level, and handed them over to the school as supplementary teaching materials.

So in theory, as long as someone had a good memory, learning magic was now very simple.

As for magical power?

That was simple. Either borrow it or directly convert Arc Reactor Energy. Chen Mu already had energy conversion technology ready to use; with a few slight modifications, it could be used immediately.

Therefore, as long as they could successfully graduate from the school, every student would become an incredibly powerful mage.
