Magic Shells

"Come on, let’s try it out at the shooting range."

After firing a few shots and still not feeling satisfied, Chen Mu really wanted to test the Arc Reactor’s energy-gathering mode—the Arc Energy Cannon.

Even ordinary electricity could produce the power of a plasma cannon. Chen Mu wanted to know what would happen if he used the Arc Reactor.

"Come on, let’s go take a look."

Xu Jia was naturally very interested in the weapon Chen Mu had mentioned. She eagerly took his hand and headed outside.

Before long, the two arrived at the shooting range.

"This weapon can use any form of energy. Whether it’s electricity or Arc Reactor Energy, it can use it all."

As he spoke, Chen Mu removed the Arc Reactor and connected a 100,000-milliamp battery to the firearm.

"A 10,000-milliamp battery can fire ten shots or two cannon blasts. This battery is 100,000 milliamps."

In other words, this one battery was enough for a hundred shots or twenty plasma cannon blasts?

The amplification of energy by Kingge’s magical circuits was truly unbelievable. As expected of Celestial technology—this thing was terrifying.

An ordinary battery could actually unleash such terrifying power.

More importantly, the battery was not disposable. It could be recharged!

"A hundred rounds?"

Xu Jia found it hard to believe. On the battlefield, the larger the magazine capacity, the greater the chance of survival. A hundred rounds was more ammunition than even an ordinary machine gun carried!

Even if they were merely electric bullets with a paralyzing effect, they were still terrifying enough!

And if one wanted destructive power, wouldn’t twenty plasma cannon shots be enough?

Most importantly, the energy source was just an ordinary battery!

What, did she think it was a Galaxy S7 special explosive?

"I’ll try it first."

Filled with curiosity, Xu Jia took the magic-powered firearm from Chen Mu and began test-firing it. The ordinary electric bullets worked like a stun gun; she only had to pull the trigger.

There was no need for cooling, either. The electrical energy gathered directly at the muzzle rather than inside the barrel—and the weapon did not even have a barrel, so naturally it needed no cooling.

In stun gun mode, the bullets traveled incredibly fast, like real lightning. Ordinary people had no chance of dodging them, and anyone struck by one would have only one outcome: unconsciousness.

Xu Jia then switched to plasma cannon mode. After several plasma blasts, the metal targets ahead were easily melted away.

After replacing the battery with the Arc Reactor, even the normal attack mode produced terrifyingly powerful shots. Its laser-gun-like method of attack left Xu Jia speechless.

This was a true weapon of the future!

A pure energy weapon!

"And you called this a little toy you made?"

Xu Jia looked at Chen Mu with a complicated expression, her eyes full of admiration.

This weapon was simply too cool!

"Please, you absolutely have to install this weapon system in my armor!"

"Don’t worry. All the armor from now on will be fitted with this."

After all, it was only an energy circuit. As long as special energy-conducting metal was used to lay it out within the armor, the ability could be used easily.

For now, Chen Mu had only encountered Kingge, so he had only mastered this one magic-powered circuit. As for the others, he would have to wait for future opportunities to acquire them.

Then he could divide the armor into different categories and inscribe different magical circuits within them. If conditions allowed, he could even inscribe several sets.

Super speed, for example. If he remembered correctly, Makkari of the Eternals—the deaf Eternal—could run across the entire Earth in an extremely short time with her super speed.

If he could obtain her magical circuit and inscribe it into Kirin Armor, then wouldn’t those suits of Kirin Armor be able to do the same?

Likewise, super strength, mind control, matter transmutation… In the future, they would not even need thrusters for flight. They could fly freely at will. And if he learned spells like portals someday, he could directly open portals with the armor…

At that point, the armor would evolve directly into magic-powered mechs. Mechs using magic—anyone who saw that would be terrified.

It looked like future armor would have to be renamed according to different abilities, purposes, and military branches…

"Want to try the Arc Energy Cannon?"

Chen Mu grinned and adjusted the weapon’s energy-gathering mode, aiming its muzzle at a distant target.

After gathering energy for two seconds, a blue sphere of energy formed at the muzzle. In an instant, it shot out and slammed into the target.

Boom!

In an instant, the sky seemed to darken as an earthshaking explosion erupted. The target was blasted into pieces, as if it had been hit by countless bombs.

The Arc Energy Cannon was terrifying indeed.

"Damn, this is way more thrilling than an RPG!"

And this counted as a magical attack, right?

Looking at the destruction caused by the weapon, Chen Mu secretly clicked his tongue as the thought crossed his mind.

"The Arc Reactor not only stores a massive amount of energy, but it is also an energy-generating device. As long as the armor has enough fuel, the weapon effectively has unlimited ammunition."

Looking at the dumbfounded Xu Jia, Chen Mu said somewhat proudly.

He had actually created a weapon with unlimited firepower.

"Then please, you absolutely have to install this weapon on my armor!"

Xu Jia’s eyes gleamed as she stared excitedly at the unremarkable-looking weapon in Chen Mu’s hand, unable to contain her excitement.

"Since the reactor itself is an energy source, as long as its energy has not been exhausted, it can use this kind of energy attack without limit."

Chen Mu raised the magic-powered firearm in his hand and showed Xu Jia the Arc Reactor mounted on it. "If we improve this weapon’s appearance, do you think it could become a mainstream military weapon?"

"That depends on what the generals think."

Xu Jia pondered for a moment before saying, "But the scale of this would be enormous. It probably won’t be easy to change things, and it will take time."

Simply put, although Chen Mu called this weapon a "magic-powered firearm," it could actually be explained as a technological weapon.

Wasn’t it just an energy weapon?

It was not as though weapons of this type did not already exist. In Xu Jia’s eyes, Chen Mu was just being embarrassingly childish. Why not simply call it an energy weapon? Why call it a magic-powered weapon?

Where was the "magic-powered" part?

It clearly used electricity and Arc Reactor Energy. Weren’t those both technological things?

Where was there any trace of magic power in this gun?

Of course, Xu Jia was not a researcher. Otherwise, if she took the weapon apart, she would discover that its internal structure was fundamentally different from that of traditional firearms.

This thing had no barrel, gunpowder, or anything of the sort. The gun body appeared seamlessly formed. Only Chen Mu knew that inside it, specially made energy-conducting materials formed an extremely complex energy circuit, creating a "magic array."

The reason it could fire energy projectiles was that the energy passed through the magical circuit inside the weapon, forming a magic array. Although the gun’s attacks looked like physical attacks, they were genuinely magical attacks.

That was why Chen Mu called it a "magic-powered firearm."
