Martial Arts Blows Up a Mecha

"Xing Liu has been killed…"

The eyeless woman leaned against the wall. Yelu had had her eyes and one ear taken by Ling Xin, yet she had instead calmed down. Or rather, she saw a hope of survival in these people whose fierce reputations were just as notorious.

At that moment, she was using her sensory abilities to gather intelligence.

A translucent barrier enveloped the outside of the building. It was a barrier capable of isolating all traces of presence. Its caster was a Reincarnator codenamed Black Box. He wore a special black high-collared outfit, the collar completely covering his mouth while his bangs hid his eyes. He was a particularly mysterious incarnation-type Reincarnator.

Black Box had mastered many Barrier Techniques and was also highly skilled at using barriers to kill.

Ling Xin looked at Yelu’s remaining ear but did not take it. Before the battle began, this woman’s sensory and Curse Kill abilities could still be of some use.

Her gaze swept coldly across everyone present. Including herself, only five remained, putting her in an extremely foul mood.

The two who had died were Jiang Ming and Xing Liu, the ones with the strongest frontal combat power. She suspected that Mercenary Tao had sensed everyone’s presence from the very beginning and had deliberately killed the targets capable of confronting him head-on first.

"Decide on a battle plan quickly. Mercenary Tao is approaching!"

Black Box suddenly spoke. Even his cold voice carried a note of urgency. He had realized that something was wrong with his Barrier Technique.

No, it was not a flaw in his ability. It was a problem with the environment created by the space for this Deathmatch Task!

The enormous city was deathly silent. Apart from them, not a single other human remained.

Thus, even if he had completely concealed the presence of everyone in this building, if Mercenary Tao’s senses could extend far enough to encompass both this building and the surrounding areas—

Without any other humans to mask them, the enemy could probably still detect the anomaly in the place he had concealed.

Black Box’s urging made everyone else look toward Ling Xin. Other than the mysterious Reincarnator who possessed teleportation magic, the identities of the others had already been confirmed.

They acknowledged the strength and cunning of Ling Xin, this wicked woman, and had faintly begun treating her as their core.

Under the pressure of Mercenary Tao, these vicious criminals who had run rampant through countless mission worlds behaved with extraordinary obedience.

The hooded Reincarnator standing at the edge of the rooftop took in the conduct of these so-called vicious criminals from the corner of his eye, a mocking smile on his lips.

This bunch of trash could only be so unrestrained and crazed when they were toying with the lives of others, yet they pretended that it was simply their nature.

In the end, they were merely bullies who preyed on the weak and feared the strong.

What vicious criminals? They were just a pack of fools who had become full of themselves after gaining a little power.

He looked down on these people, but if he wanted to kill someone like Mercenary Tao, he still had to wait. He still had to hold back. He needed these people to force out as much of Mercenary Tao’s strength as possible.

Ling Xin raised her head, shifting her gaze away from Black Box and Yelu toward the chestnut-haired boy leaning against the outer wall of the rooftop.

He kept picking at his fingers. It seemed that after tearing off a hangnail, he had ripped away a large patch of flesh. Blood streamed down, yet the boy wore a satisfied smile.

"Akira, you’ll restrain Mercenary Tao head-on later. I’ll use my ability to support and protect you. No problem, right?"

Ling Xin’s tone was somewhat forceful. This boy codenamed Akira was mentally unstable and seemed to possess an abnormal fondness for pain, but he was probably the strongest remaining Reincarnator in a frontal fight.

Akira raised his head and nodded, revealing a foolish grin. A red gleam radiated from his eyes, making people uncomfortable.

Live!

He heard a woman’s voice ring by his ear again. Akira felt as though his body had been wound up, and he moved instinctively.

A flash of light appeared, and a massive object crashed down.

Boom!

These abandoned buildings could not withstand a Knightmare weighing several tons. As the rooftop cracked apart, the Reincarnators all reacted instantly.

They were all well aware of Akira’s special ability. It was an alternative type of rule-based ability. Someone had used an ability called Geass to place an order upon Akira: to live.

Thus, whenever Akira encountered danger, he would instinctively unleash unprecedented potential, create a miracle, and survive.

Since Akira had suddenly acted like this, that meant…

"Mercenary Tao is here!"

Yelu’s voice nearly cracked. Her face was pale. She sensed that Mercenary Tao, who had vanished for only an instant, had reappeared beneath this building!

He was only a few dozen meters away from them.

For Reincarnators like them, that distance was no different from being face-to-face.

As Yelu gave her shrill warning, Ling Xin spread her palm.

ROOM!

The power of the Op-Op Fruit was unleashed. The next moment, Yelu felt the world fall silent as her last ear and eardrum were taken away as well.

Ling Xin remained expressionless. The blue-white ROOM enveloped everyone, and in the next moment, they exchanged positions with a pile of clutter on a building several kilometers away.

Bai Cangshu turned his head and gazed unobstructed at their new location.

A smile played on his lips. It had never been that complicated. There was no need to use sensory abilities to cover the entire city and notice the slight difference between a place protected by a Barrier Technique and other normal buildings.

There was no such method at all.

He had merely… marked all these weaklings.

Bai Cangshu lowered his eyelids, and the smile vanished entirely.

Bang!

A Gauss Sniper Rifle shot accelerated to the limit suddenly punched through the building, but Bai Cangshu had taken a step to the left beforehand. With a single stride, he had moved four or five meters away.

The black shell wrapped in electric light became a streak of light, piercing straight through the entire city before exploding more than ten kilometers away.

Blue-white lightning spread from over ten kilometers away like an energy field, disrupting all kinds of electronic equipment and sensory abilities.

Bang!

Another shot!

Akira sat inside the cockpit, the optical imaging system clearly capturing Mercenary Tao’s figure. His face was fervent, his entire mind completely focused. He could no longer sense anyone else’s existence.

In his eyes, only Mercenary Tao remained!

Bang!

Tilting his head, he forcibly locked onto Mercenary Tao in the optical display and fired repeatedly. The specially modified Gauss Sniper Rifle, which could fully be called a cannon, constantly shifted angles in his hands.

Yet what puzzled him was that Mercenary Tao’s figure was like an illusion. Every time, he stepped away in advance, narrowly evading Akira’s shots.

The bullets from this specialized Gauss Sniper Rifle traveled at nearly ten times the speed of sound. It was almost impossible for anyone to dodge them.

"He can… read minds…"

Akira’s voice was somewhat slurred, but Yelu on the rooftop still sensed it. However, lying on the ground after losing her final ear, Yelu had no intention of communicating with the others anymore.

"Everyone will die…"

Yelu spoke as though she had completely given up.

Bai Cangshu leisurely dodged three shots and arrived before the blue-white Mecha. He raised his left hand before him and drew back his right arm.

Countless alarms instantly lit up across the instruments before Akira.

Live!

That curse-like voice sounded again. Akira’s movements became bizarrely jerky. The Mecha instantly lifted its left leg, spun backward as it leaped up, activated its thrusters, smashed straight through the building, and flew outside.

Bai Cangshu did not react. Turning toward the sky, he threw a distant punch.

Boom!

A Blazing White Cloud Dragon tore through the air and instantly struck the Mecha.
