Mind Space
Little Hela’s words left Hela somewhat silent. She sighed and said, "At this point, there’s no meaning in saying any of this. I’ve already lost. Asgard is yours to deal with."
Thinking of something, Hela cursed, "Anyway, that idiot definitely can’t beat you."
"No matter how stupid he is, he’s still your brother."
Odin suddenly appeared beside them and said sincerely to Hela, "Hela, come home with me."
"Go back and inherit your Stinky Tofu Shop? Become a woman who sells stinky tofu, reeks from head to toe, and can’t get married?"
Hela snorted. Odin smiled and said, "That wouldn’t be so bad. At least stinky tofu fills you up."
Hela could not help wanting to roll her eyes. She was the Goddess of Death, and she was supposed to go back and sell stinky tofu? If word got out, those Super Heroes would laugh themselves to death. Though stinky tofu really was delicious.
Odin asked nervously, "Hela, did your master say how Hela will be dealt with?"
"Relax. Master loves his disciples most. There definitely won’t be any severe punishment."
Little Hela said, "It’ll probably be the same as before: seal her cultivation and send her home to sell stinky tofu. Though this time, the seal might last a lifetime. She might even be stripped of her godhood and turned into a mortal, since Hela caused rather a lot of deaths this time."
"The Insect Extermination Alliance won’t let me off. They’ll definitely demand that Master seal me away, or even kill me."
Hela said resolutely, "I won’t make things difficult for Master because of me. Since I lost, I must bear the price."
Little Hela said casually, "To Master, that’s a trivial matter. He’ll definitely protect you, and he can protect you."
"There definitely won’t be a problem if the Blood God steps in. He’s a Creator God."
Odin breathed a sigh of relief. Little Hela asked, "Old Odin, how is my master’s battle with Galactus going?"
Everyone turned to Odin. Odin said, "Your master had already won, but Death came out to interfere. They’re now fighting a battle of minds."
"The Blood God really won!"
Everyone gasped in amazement. They had known Wang Bert might win, but hearing that he had truly defeated his opponent still felt unbelievable. After all, his opponent was a Creator God.
From this day onward, Wang Bert was a true Creator God, no longer one merely in name.
"Yes, he really won, and it wasn’t difficult."
Odin sighed. "His main body defeated Galactus, while his clone defeated Chthon. Everyone underestimated the Blood God."
Thinking of something, Odin added, "Honestly, I feel like I’ve lived all these years for nothing."
Astros and Seth nodded deeply in agreement. Wang Bert was only in his twenties. He had not even lived one-thousandth of one-thousandth of one-thousandth of their ages…
"Master never disappoints us."
Little Hela said proudly, "Even with Death interfering, Master can still defeat Galactus."
Everyone nodded, full of confidence in the Blood God. Hela snorted and said, "Not necessarily. No matter how powerful Master is, he can’t deal with two Creator Gods at once."
"Death can’t truly take action."
Odin waved his hand and said, "Forget that. By the way, the Great Serpent is about to die. Do you want to see him one last time? No matter what, he’s your uncle."
"Huh?"
Little Hela and Hela were both stunned. Realizing something, Little Hela asked, "You want us to plead with Master for him?"
Odin was somewhat embarrassed at having his thoughts exposed. In the end, he still did not want to see the Great Serpent perish. After all, that was his biological elder brother, even if the other man had wanted to kill his whole family.
Hela sneered. "Odin, when did you become so indecisive and sentimental? Weren’t you quite decisive when you sealed me away back then?"
"Because I’m old."
Odin sighed. Looking at his white beard, white hair, and the air of twilight surrounding him, Hela could not help sighing inwardly. Odin truly was old. He was no longer the decisive Asgard King of old.
"I’ll give it a try, but don’t get your hopes up. The Great Serpent killed quite a few Earthlings. To Master, Earthlings and aliens are different."
Little Hela said this because although Wang Bert was the guardian of the universe, he had never intended to be impartial and selfless. In his heart, Earthlings came first, and only then came the inhabitants of other planets.
There was no helping it. Wang Bert was an Earthling.
"That’s enough."
Odin sighed in relief. Then, thinking of something, he rubbed his nose and asked uncertainly, "Do you think Thor has realized the truth?"
What truth? The truth that Odin was perfectly fine and had been lively all along.
Little Hela and Hela exchanged a glance, then said in unison, "Definitely not."
Odin threw back his head and sighed. "What a disgraceful family."
In a void-like space, Death’s consciousness flew as swiftly as lightning. Then, seeing light ahead, she hurried toward it and found Wang Bert standing before a giant sphere of light.
The surface of the giant sphere was filled with mist. Even Death could not see what was inside. Above the sphere floated a pale yellow gem that sparkled brightly—the Mind Stone.
Death flew before Wang Bert and said, "As expected, you had something planned."
"Of course I did. Otherwise, wouldn’t I just be throwing my life away?"
Wang Bert shrugged. "Do you want to go in and take a look? I won’t stop you."
"You won’t stop me?"
Death was somewhat surprised. Standing beside Wang Bert, she sensed the situation inside the sphere. A moment later, she asked in shock, "Hell’s Will?"
"That’s right. Hell’s Will is inside the sphere. In fact, Adam is inside as well."
Wang Bert nodded and said, "Only Hell’s Will can contend with Galactus’s memories. Hell’s Will has existed since the beginning of the universe."
Death asked in confusion, "Why would Hell’s Will fight for you with its life? It can’t wait to tear you to pieces."
"It truly hates me."
Wang Bert smiled and said, "So I gave it a promise. Once this is over, Adam will relinquish the position of Satan and return Hell entirely to it."
"No wonder."
Death suddenly understood. She asked, "You’re willing to give that up? That’s all of Hell."
"When I was younger, I was rather greedy. I wanted every Concept there was."
Wang Bert said, "Only now do I understand that more Concepts aren’t necessarily better. What matters is whether they suit you. The Chaos Concept and Evil Concept completely don’t suit me. I’m a steadfast supporter of order and a good person."
"Younger? How old are you?"
Death complained. She said, "Your idea is right. The Chaos Concept and Evil Concept will only cause problems for you."
Wang Bert asked, "Come to think of it, I’ve always wanted to ask you something. How does one become a Creator God? By comprehending more Concepts?"
"You’re asking the wrong person. I don’t know."
Death shook her head. "I was born a Creator God, so I never needed to advance. Other than Galactus, the other Creator Gods are the same. Galactus is a survivor from the previous universe."
Wang Bert said, "A born Creator God? You really have it good, reaching the peak the moment you were born."
"It is quite nice, but Creator Gods can no longer improve. They remain Creator Gods for their entire lives. For example, I’m very displeased with the Living Tribunal, but I can never surpass the Living Tribunal in this life. I don’t know how to cultivate, nor can I cultivate."
Death said, "Also, every Creator God has their own duties. Put simply, Creator Gods are managers the universe found for itself."
"In that case, my path is different from yours."
Wang Bert was thoughtful. He had no divine office; all power belonged to himself.
"Since the birth of the universe, there has never been anyone like you. You can only walk your own path."
Death did not say more. Looking at the sphere of light, she asked, "The Mind Stone, Hell’s Will, the Blood God—what exactly have you done to Galactus?"
"If you want to see, then I’ll let you see."
Wang Bert waved his hand, and the mist on the sphere dispersed. Immediately afterward, an image of an old agent slaughtering his way through all opposition appeared before them.
My name is Brian. I’m a retired old agent. When I was young, I worked too hard and put in overtime every day, causing my wife to run off with our daughter.
After retiring, I kept trying to make it up to them. Who would have thought that while my daughter was traveling in Europa, she would be kidnapped by traffickers? So I picked up two guns and fought my way from east to west, leaving heads rolling everywhere, until I finally rescued my daughter intact.
After that, my daughter, who had not paid much attention to me before, became very close to me. I was overjoyed, thinking that good days had finally arrived.
Then, the next day, Galactus suddenly appeared and devoured the planet we were on.
I hate Galactus!
My name is Ray Gaines. I’m a pilot in the Fire Department Air Squadron. I worked too hard and put in overtime every day, causing my wife to want a divorce.
That day, I went to work as usual, only for a massive earthquake to suddenly strike San Francisco. My wife and daughter were both there. Without a second word, I abandoned my job and flew a helicopter over to save them.
San Francisco was in terrible shape. The ground shook violently, and there was even a tsunami. I flew planes and drove speedboats, exhausting every last ounce of strength before finally rescuing my wife and daughter.
My wife was deeply moved and decided to reconcile with me. My daughter looked at me with admiration. Just as our family was rejoicing together, Galactus suddenly appeared and devoured the planet we were on.
I hate Galactus very much!
My name is Scott Lang. I was originally an electronics engineer, but later, I was sent to prison for theft. My wife divorced me because of it and remarried a cop, taking our daughter with her.
After I got out of prison, I couldn’t find work. I didn’t even have enough money to pay child support. Because of that, my ex-wife wouldn’t let me see my daughter. Left with no choice, I returned to my old trade—stealing again.
As a result, some scheming old bastard set me up, and I somehow became Ant-Man, helping him save the world.
To get revenge on me, the villain became Yellowjacket and kidnapped my daughter. I fought the villain desperately and finally rescued Little Pumpkin, earning her admiration as well.
Everything was wonderful, but then Galactus suddenly appeared and devoured the planet we were on.
I hate Galactus so, so much!
Death could not help glancing at Wang Bert. She asked in confusion, "What are you doing?"
Wang Bert smiled. "Those protagonists are all Galactus."
"You want Galactus to hate himself?"
Death said, "Blood God, you’re thinking too simply. Galactus has lived for tens of billions of years. What use could these petty tricks have against him? In fact, his emotions are extremely faint."
Wang Bert asked, "Didn’t you notice what those stories have in common?"
Death thought for a moment and answered, "What they have in common? They all have an ex-wife who abandoned them?"
Wang Bert was speechless. "This isn’t a divorce story. Didn’t you notice that they all have a daughter?"
Death seemed thoughtful. "A daughter?"
"Galactus’s emotions are indeed faint, but he dotes greatly on his daughter Galacta."
Wang Bert said, "That affection has been projected onto those daughters. When he sees his own daughter devoured by Galactus, he will hate Galactus to the bone and wish he could subject him to Death by a Thousand Cuts.
The resentment of one protagonist naturally amounts to nothing. The problem is that this kind of story will repeat millions of times.
The resentment of millions of protagonists, piled together, will cause even Galactus to suffer a backlash. Besides, Hell’s Will is in there. It’s an expert in resentment. With its cooperation, Galactus won’t escape disaster."
After a pause, Wang Bert continued, "In the end, Galactus will become utterly disgusted with himself, perhaps even wishing he were dead.
That way, I can easily merge with him and become the final winner. That is my plan. Death, are you satisfied?"
"How is your brain even built? You actually came up with a plan like that?"
Death was dumbfounded. She suddenly really wanted to touch Wang Bert’s head.
"The greatest difference between Earthlings and aliens is that Earthlings are full of creativity and spirit. That is also why Earth movies are gradually taking the universe by storm."
Wang Bert said, "Unfortunately for you, I’m an Earthling. Death, if you want to break this deadlock, there is only one way: enter the sphere and find a way to wake Galactus.
Uh, I think you could play Galactus’s ex-wife."
Death asked suspiciously, "Would you really be kind enough to tell me the method?"
Wang Bert said with absolute certainty, "Of course. Everyone knows the Blood God is chivalrous and always ready to help others. Someone even gave me the nickname Timely Rain."
"Your surname isn’t Song, it’s Wang—the Wang from Neighbor Wang. Please, don’t treat me like an illiterate, all right? I’ve read all of Earth’s literary classics."
Death said irritably. These Earthlings always treated gods like them as ignorant monsters.
"Death, whether you enter or not is your own choice."
Wang Bert said, "But if you don’t enter, Galactus will definitely lose."
Death asked, "You want to catch us both in one net and end this crisis completely, don’t you?"
Wang Bert smiled broadly. "How could that be? No matter how powerful I am, I can’t possibly deal with two Creator Gods at once. Death, you’re overthinking it."
Naturally, Death did not believe him. Wang Bert definitely had a scheme, or he would not be so generous. The problem was that if she did not enter the sphere, she had no way to save Galactus. This was troublesome.
If she entered, she would be in danger. If she did not, Galactus would certainly lose.
Death cursed inwardly, Damn it, Galactus. You’ve disappointed me too much.
Seeing Death hesitate, Wang Bert sneered inwardly. I knew you wouldn’t dare enter.
Creator Gods feared certain things as well—for example, being sealed away.
After thinking for a while, Death turned to Wang Bert and said coldly, "Actually, there is another way to break the deadlock: kill you."
"Not to mention that with the Living Tribunal around, you don’t dare act at all."
Wang Bert scoffed. "Even if you truly dared to act, so what? Do you think you can beat me? Kill me? Heh, you’re dreaming."
Death had no response. Her strength was about the same as Galactus’s. Since Galactus could not defeat this guy, she probably could not either.
Damn it, why was this guy so strong? It was completely unscientific.
"Death, I’m not baiting you. If you want to defeat me, you can only enter this sphere. There is no other choice."
Wang Bert said, "You want to defeat me, yet you don’t want to take any risks? How could there be such a good deal in this world?"
