Monster Appears
On the outskirts of J City, a black luxury sedan sped along a dilapidated road.
"Are you sure this is okay, Lady Fubuki? That guy is dangerous, isn’t he? I think it would be better if we didn’t get involved with him…"
Lily of the Three-Section Staff drove the car, looking uneasy.
The Agency had just received a call. A woman claiming to be the assistant of Hero for Fun had sent a plea for help, saying that the person behind the previous attack on Lady Fubuki had made another move.
Moreover, the caller had specifically stated that she hoped Lady Fubuki would ask Tatsumaki the Terror for assistance. This showed that, in her eyes, Lady Fubuki could not handle those enemies.
But everyone knew that what Lady Fubuki could tolerate least was relying on her sister, so she insisted on handling it herself.
Fubuki sat with her arms crossed and her eyes closed, meditating. Of course, she knew that Nameless Hero was stronger than her. If even he had encountered danger, then she would certainly face danger as well.
But she had her own considerations. First of all, while he was indeed quite strong, he did not feel as formidable as the powerful S-Class heroes from before. He was probably only around upper A-Class or lower S-Class in strength. He was stronger than her, but that was more because their abilities countered each other.
She was not particularly good at dealing with opponents who were too fast.
"Don’t worry, Lily… Do you think that just because we don’t say anything, that guy won’t know…?"
Fubuki understood what Lily was worried about. With a self-deprecating smile, she turned to look in a certain direction as she spoke. She could sense that a powerful force had briefly erupted there.
That power, which seemed capable of crushing the heavens in an instant, could belong to no one but her sister.
"So, you’re the mysterious people who wanted to bully my little sister behind my back?"
A petite body, lowered eyelids, and a disdainful tone that seemed squeezed through clenched teeth.
The "girl" floating in the air held a wine bottle in one hand. Her face was slightly flushed, and as she spoke, she tilted her head back and took huge gulps of the low-alcohol fruit wine.
Panicked screams still echoed through the collapsed residential district. Perhaps because she had not appeared for so long, many people had forgotten what that emerald-green glow in the sky represented.
Thus, the ordinary people were still screaming from the earlier melee, terrified that the giant would appear out of nowhere again.
Monsters had often appeared in the past. Most merely caused destruction, and some killed people, but monsters that actually ate humans were not all that common.
The ugly giant that had appeared amid steam today, grabbing passersby and stuffing them into its mouth, had truly terrified the ordinary citizens of J City.
The silver-haired man lowered his head, not daring to look the "girl" in the sky in the eye.
His entire body trembled beyond his control. Nothing could have made him more directly aware of this world’s danger than watching several vicious Reincarnators, who had been somewhat famous even in the space, get crushed to death at once.
"Hey, are you trembling~?"
The girl descended from the sky, reeking of alcohol. Even low-proof fruit wine seemed enough to get the person regarded as the strongest Supernatural Ability User in this world drunk.
But Sela had no delusion that he could defeat her while she was drunk.
"Yes, I’m afraid, Lady Tatsumaki…"
At that moment, Sela clearly understood the correctness of Iron Rule. He even felt that Iron Rule was not thorough enough. It should state that once it was discovered that an ultra-dangerous Plot Character was in a city, the Reincarnators in that city were forbidden from engaging in any dangerous activities.
They had merely wanted to clear a milestone while carrying out the mission to kill Mercenary Tao, believing that this might lure in that idiot Mercenary Tao, who was pretending to be a hero.
Instead, Tatsumaki had descended from the sky and killed three people in an instant.
The Pure Titans rampaging through the city had also been twisted into fragments.
Tatsumaki looked rather bored, her voice tinged with alcohol.
"Are you the ones who wanted to assassinate my little sister…?"
Countless thoughts flashed through Sela’s mind in an instant, but he immediately felt his body float out of control. The sheer force of that psychokinesis made his title of Psychokinesis Master seem like a joke.
"No, absolutely not!"
"It was probably an organization called Blackwater, ma’am! I can help you find them!"
Emerald-green light shone from Tatsumaki’s pupils. To be honest, she disdained developing all sorts of fancy uses for superpowers, but whenever she wanted to do something, she could simply do it naturally.
Finding no sign of lying, she nodded.
"You’re a Supernatural Ability User too, right? Lead the way…"
Tatsumaki held the wine bottle in one hand and casually pointed with a finger of the other.
Sela immediately flew into the air against his will, speeding through the sky at a terrifying velocity. He soon realized that he could alter his direction with psychokinesis, but did not need to use psychokinesis to fly.
In other words, Tatsumaki provided the propulsion. He only needed to "turn."
Sela did not dare hesitate and immediately flew toward Blackwater’s gathering place according to the intelligence.
This was no time to talk about principles. He only wanted to find someone to lure this monster away.
Even Sela, who could learn and copy other people’s superpowers, did not dare entertain any thought of coveting Tatsumaki’s abilities.
He believed that Lord Tree Herder would not blame him either. After all, this was Iron Rule.
—
On the outskirts of J City, two figures staggered out of the colorful Spirit World Infested Zone. Walking ahead of them was Ayase Seishi, her white hair standing straight up.
This sharp-tongued Spirit Medium had ultimately been unable to resist entering the Spirit World Infested Zone and finding the two survivors.
"Thank you so much, Miss Ayase!"
Loka was mentally exhausted. The deaths of so many companions, along with the tug-of-war against the Ghost, had left him drained. The terror of being unable to tell whether the companions beside him were even real had quickly torn apart this mixed-quality team of Reincarnators, who had then been hunted down one by one.
The woman waved her hand.
"Just consider it an effort on my part to find my troublesome granddaughter~"
Her tone was carefree as she smoked. The situation inside the Spirit World Infested Zone was too complex and dangerous, and she had no confidence that she could survive there for long.
Trying not to think about whether her granddaughter and that boy were still alive, she pointed toward the dilapidated residential district on the other side and said,
"The two people who came out of here earlier should be living over there. They might be people you know…"
Loka froze. Only after asking did he finally confirm that Lilith was still alive. Mercenary Tao had actually brought her out.
He exchanged a look with Short Hair, and both of them struggled inwardly.
On one hand, neither wanted anything to do with someone like Mercenary Tao. Ideally, they would not even go near him.
But on the other hand, they could not bear to leave that timid girl alone at Mercenary Tao’s side.
"How about… we think of something?"
Their faces were pale, but they ultimately agreed to the plan.
Ayase Seishi, who was smoking, revealed an almost imperceptible smile. Perhaps these two were the kind of good people she understood.
Bang!
A terrifying impact suddenly rang out, followed by a tremendous blast of wind from behind. Ayase Seishi was instantly blown into the air. Though Short Hair and Loka were not skilled at dealing with spirits, their combat ability in the real world was somewhat stronger than Ayase Seishi’s.
They immediately caught her, while Short Hair pressed both hands to his forehead and activated a psychokinetic shield.
Fortunately, the gale came quickly and left just as quickly.
The group turned to look toward the source of the wind, and the next moment, all of them froze.
The colorful Spirit World Infested Zone now had a massive hole hundreds of meters wide. Through it, they could see the desert on the other side.
A bald man in a yellow hero suit and white cape walked out of the shattered Spirit World Infested Zone, his face filled with curiosity.
"Genos, did there used to be a place like this between Z-City and J City? This is weird~"
Genos searched through the data and replied seriously,
"Teacher, this is probably a place called the Spirit World Infested Zone. It is very dangerous."
Saitama looked back at the shattered hospital. Something enormous with tentacles had indeed seemed to try to capture him just now, but it had been too fragile. One punch had destroyed it, along with the surrounding space.
"Oh, is that so…"
He realized that he could no longer share the same definition of the word "dangerous" as other people.
He could only keep moving forward, preparing to meet Hero for Fun.
He wanted to ask him a question, one he was very curious about.
"Is being a hero fun?"
