Mysterious Enemy

Marvel superheroes had vastly different personalities. Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, and Quicksilver, who originally belonged to the evil faction and later joined the Avengers, simply wanted to live their own lives.

Young heroes like Spider-Man belonged to the type who had just acquired powers and were eager to show off.

Iron Man Tony loved money and beautiful women, spending his days in revelry. Although his personality was slightly selfish, his stance remained firm on major issues of right and wrong like world peace.

As for Thor, hailing from the Asgardian race, his responsibility to protect humanity stemmed from the pride of the gods. The Nine Realms looked up to the Asgardian race as supreme, and long ago, in the depths of his heart, he viewed humanity as a weak race under the protection of the gods.

Among these people, only Captain America was completely unselfish, taking the peace of America and humanity as his sole mission. Such a person was the easiest to control and the least likely to act recklessly, which was why Nick Fury, the United States Congress, and others strongly pushed Captain America to be the leader of the Avengers.

Ever since World War II, Captain America’s loyalty to the country and the people was unquestionable, and everyone felt at ease with him as leader. Otherwise, with Captain America’s strength, who in the Avengers wasn’t stronger than him? How would it ever fall to him to be the leader?

Xiao Hen descended, a gentle smile on his face, and said, "Done."

"Mr. Xiao Hen, I wonder if you have any interest in joining the Avengers?" Captain America asked, looking at Xiao Hen with keen interest.

Hearing this, Xiao Hen was stunned. He certainly hadn’t expected Captain America to issue him an invitation to join the team. Joining the Avengers was something Xiao Hen had truly never considered. Previously, he only thought about avoiding conflicts with the Avengers. After all, they were a group of protagonists, and he was already resented by the World Will of this world. He would definitely have a large number of enemies in the future—not just Thanos as a direct opponent contending for the Infinity Gauntlet, but surely other powerful enemies as well. Yet joining the Avengers was something he genuinely had never contemplated.

Should he join?

Just as Xiao Hen was pondering, Black Widow was also shocked by Captain America’s words: "Steve, we should still go back and discuss this matter!"

As the leader, if Xiao Hen really agreed to join and they objected, it might put Captain America in an awkward position. But how could they so easily allow an unknown powerhouse of mysterious origins to join the Avengers?

At that, Captain America paused. He was overflowing with a sense of justice, but he wasn’t a fool either. Just now, he was simply stunned for a moment by Xiao Hen’s strength, and his first thought had been to recruit the other party. With such a strong reinforcement joining, they would have a much greater certainty of success when fighting evil forces. Thinking about it now, the person before him had an unknown background, so indeed he shouldn’t be allowed to join rashly.

"Well, alright. Mr. Xiao Hen, you can also carefully consider my proposal, and we need to go back and discuss it too!" Captain America continued, "The current crisis with Ultron has not been completely resolved yet. What you destroyed just now were only some robots it controlled. As long as Ultron is not eliminated, the crisis of humanity’s destruction will exist for a single day longer!"

"Alright, I’ll think it over carefully!" Xiao Hen nodded, not flatly refusing.

Xiao Hen parted ways with Captain America and the others. He flew up into the sky and left Seoul, not directly tearing through space to leave. The power he had displayed just now was only a very small fraction, yet it was enough to deal with Ultron. This world was vast and had many strong individuals, so he wouldn’t use his power recklessly. Even if he ultimately managed by sheer luck to seize the Infinity Gauntlet and the six Infinity Gems, he couldn’t afford to be too arrogant.

The Five Elders of the Living Tribunal were a threat, along with the Beyonder, and the most terrifying TOAA. This was the World Will itself!

TOAA wouldn’t notice a little ant like him right now, but if he truly obtained the Six Great Gems and the Infinity Gauntlet, TOAA would definitely notice him. Because by that time, he would possess the might to destroy the universe, and failing to notice him simply wouldn’t do.

After Xiao Hen left, the superheroes in Seoul also departed one by one. As for the lingering aftermath, it was naturally left for the great Korean police to clean up.

At that very moment, high above Seoul beneath the white clouds, two figures appeared out of nowhere. Looking at the situation below, one of them spoke.

"It seems we still came too late. He made his move, and he succeeded!" one figure said.

"Damn it, he actually didn’t die!" The other figure snorted and said, "This guy has nine lives! Even an attack like ours couldn’t kill him!"

"Now, the Space Stone and the Mind Stone have both fallen into his hands. It will be even harder to kill him!" Although the first figure’s tone was calm, it contained a trace of helplessness.

"The Space Stone… I didn’t expect that even when we attacked together, we couldn’t snatch it from his hands. His strength is truly terrifying!" The second figure shook his head, then asked, "Master, what should we do next?"

"Let’s go back. I cannot stay in this place for long…" the first figure said. "After we return, we will search for new methods anew. There will always be a way to defeat him. Besides, do not forget that his enemies are not just the two of us; there are more. Even those supreme powerhouses deep in the universe have already taken notice of him."

"Alright, let’s go then!"

Yet at this moment, Xiao Hen, who was already back in North America, seemed to sense something. He released his Divine Sense once more, but failed to find that peculiar fluctuation.

What is this? This aura is very familiar… This is? Xiao Hen felt a wave of doubt. After pondering for a moment, a thought stirred in his heart, and he realized something.

So that’s how it is! Heh! Xiao Hen stopped in his tracks, a smile appearing on his face as he looked toward the distant sky—the direction of Korea.

Within the Super String Space, above the boundless Divine Kingdom, an incomparably dazzling "sun" hung high in the sky. At this moment, the Main God Avatar was in a semi-conscious state, sitting cross-legged with a red-skinned figure floating before him—none other than Vision.

Vision was still in a deep slumber at this moment. In the original plot, it was Thor who used Mjolnir to summon lightning and blast him in order to awaken Vision. Since he was brought over by Xiao Hen while still asleep, he naturally lost the chance to wake up.

The Main God Avatar slowly opened his eyes and pointed a finger at Vision, who was enveloped in the radiance of divine power. With a chime, the Mind Stone detached itself from Vision’s forehead. The moment it left Vision’s body, Vision’s red physical form stiffened, transforming into a hard metallic mass of vibranium and vanadium alloy.

"The Mind Stone is also in hand, along with the Space Stone. Hmm, the only ones remaining on Earth are the Reality Stone and the Time Stone…" On the flawless face of the Main God Avatar, his expression was serene. "The Reality Stone shouldn’t be difficult to obtain, but the Time Stone will require some effort. We need to reverse space and time, returning to the past era to find the Time Stone, because it does not exist in the ‘present’ spacetime."

"Let’s get our hands on the Reality Stone first!" The Main God Avatar slowly closed his eyes, continuing into a deep slumber. Yet right before falling asleep, he flicked out a strand of divine power along with the Mind Stone. Back in the Marvel World, Xiao Hen’s true body felt a slight ripple, and with a flip of his hand, he grasped the Mind Stone and that highly condensed strand of divine power within his palm.
