New plans

Thinking of the BL Game Club, a great plan for spending money appeared in Chen Mo's mind.

That was the script game tournament.

First, holding a tournament requires prize money, right? So, to attract more people to participate, there shouldn't be any issue with setting the prize money a bit higher.

To say nothing more, Tiange Game Club had a prize pool of 1 million for their tournaments.

So, as the game's developer, he certainly couldn't be stingy with the tournament prize money.

Adding a zero shouldn't be a problem at all.

Moreover, this was just for the Extreme Survival tournament; he still had the game [Tianlong].

That Tiange Game Club had also held offline tournaments for [Tianlong].

Currently, the popularity of [Tianlong] couldn't compare to Extreme Survival.

So, a prize pool of 5 million for that tournament surely wouldn't be a problem.

Now, with just two games, holding one tournament for each could consume 15 million in funds.

And that was without calculating other expenses when holding the tournaments.

For example: venue, computers, various props…

And the venue involved his second plan for spending money.

Renting a venue every time he held a tournament was truly too troublesome.

It would be better to just find a place and build a Competition Base directly; that way, he wouldn't need to look for a location, and could hold the tournaments at the Competition Base every time.

Since it was a Competition Base, it had to be luxurious.

Last time he watched Tiange Game Club hold a tournament, the contestants only had a simple small cubicle to rest in during breaks, which looked very crowded.

His Competition Base definitely couldn't be like that.

Since he was holding a tournament, everything had to be complete, and Rooms had to be prepared.

Perhaps some teams would arrive early, and renting hotels would be very troublesome, so he would build some large lounges in the Competition Base. Each large lounge could be divided into several Rooms, with the beds inside furnished to hotel standards.

Chen Mo imagined what the Competition Base would look like once it was built.

If it were built according to his expectations, the funds consumed would surely reach over 100 million.

Hmm! Not bad.

Building a Competition Base could consume over 100 million in funds.

Then there was the tournament prize money.

Four quarters a year, four seasons, holding four tournaments—that surely wouldn't be a problem.

In this way, the prize money for the two games' tournaments could consume a total of 60 million in funds.

Chen Mo recorded the plan he had just conceived directly into his spending manual. Currently, most of his fund consumption could be used for that unfinished building, so he wouldn't need this spending plan in the short term.

The Competition Base was not needed at the moment.

However, he could let the BL Game Club start preparing to hold tournaments.

Tournaments could be held four times a year; the earlier they were held, the sooner he could spend money.

Then there was the Corner Pet Park. Since the additional investment amount had already been increased to 10 million, and the investment for this month hadn't been transferred yet, he would tell the finance department in a moment to transfer these 10 million funds into the Corner Pet Park's capital account.

Once the Pet Park expanded and recruited more employees, he would be able to consume even more funds.

Moreover, if the Pet Park expanded, the number of pets would certainly increase, and pet food and medical care would also be a large expenditure of funds.

Chen Mo looked at the items on the plan he had listed and leaned back in his chair, satisfied.

For now, because of the investment in the unfinished building, he didn't have much pressure regarding spending money.

Furthermore, there was nearly a year left before the next settlement, so he didn't need to be so urgent. The most important thing to do right now was to maintain these existing industries and continue moving forward in the direction he had envisioned.

Another thing was to open up more money-losing industries.

Thinking of this, Chen Mo picked up a stack of documents from the side; these were the materials submitted by the investment company that Shen Rou had just brought over.

He flipped through them carefully, then speechless, tossed those investment proposals to the side.

These proposals were still the same as before, without the slightest hint of exaggeration; they were all too normal.

They were just normal proposals where the possibility of profit was greater than the possibility of loss. Moreover, the investment amounts required for these proposals were not very high, so even if they lost money, it wouldn't be much.

This was very boring. With his current assets, he could invest in a dozen or even twenty of such proposals.

However, he faced a very big problem: if he invested in all of these industries, because there were too many, he would have even less ability to control the development direction and trends of each industry.

This would cause many industries to lose control, and he would face greater uncertainty.

If these industries all lost money, he would naturally be happy.

But if these industries all entered a profitable state, that would be very troublesome.

Of course, there was another possibility: some would make a profit, and some would lose money.

If that were balanced out, even if he lost money, he wouldn't lose much, and even if he made a profit, it wouldn't be much.

After weighing the pros and cons, Chen Mo's final decision was… he would ignore all these small projects that didn't have a clear direction for losing money.

If he wanted to invest, he had to invest in a big one, a project that could lose a lot of money and where no direction for profit could be seen.

However, he also knew that such projects were hard to come by and needed to be sought out slowly.

But the investment company had been established for quite some time, and they hadn't found a single decent money-losing project; this was too unreliable.

After thinking for a moment, he pressed the call button on the side.

Not long after, Shen Rou pushed open the door to the office cubicle, walked in, and came to the desk.

"President Chen, do you have any instructions?"

Chen Mo looked up at Shen Rou.

"How is the investment company recruiting investment projects? I find that the investment projects collected are too rigid and lack any novelty."

"Ah, rigid?"

Shen Rou was stunned for a moment, a bit confused about what President Chen was trying to say.

She had also reviewed those investment proposals; there were still a few good projects. If they were invested in, not to mention a hundred percent profit, there was still an eighty percent chance of profit, and the plans for those proposals were relatively new!

"By rigid, I don't mean whether the proposal is new or old, but rather proposals that are eye-catching, unprecedented, or very unique."

"I know about the current proposals; some are indeed not bad, but they are not what I want."

"Isn't it often said on ancient battlefields that a surprise force brings victory? Well, our business war is the same; I also need a surprise force."

"Do you understand?"

Chen Mo had talked for a long time, and seeing Shen Rou still looking confused, he waved his hand helplessly.

He didn't intend to ramble anymore and stated his ultimate goal directly.

"The channels we currently use to obtain investment proposals are too conventional, making it hard to find a surprise force. Go notify the people at the investment company and tell them to try every possible method to expand the channels for obtaining investment proposals."

"For example: the simplest promotional method, handing out flyers…"
