New York Is Dangerous
A white RV cruised slowly along a highway in Wyoming. The driver’s seat was empty, with only the onboard speakers automatically playing soothing, pleasant pop songs.
The night breeze swept through the windows, bringing fresh air. Outside lay endless hills and plains; the bustling metropolis filled with towering buildings had long since been left far behind, while lush evergreen trees lined both sides of the road.
"Mindy, we shouldn’t have sneaked out." The purple-haired girl scooped at her ice cream with a spoon, her face full of unease. "If Sean finds out, we’ll both die horribly."
The little girl wore hamster pajamas and rolled around on the carpeted floor of the RV. Then she crawled beneath a seat to play games, like a plump little animal.
Hearing the purple-haired girl, she sprang up from the carpet and said in a solemn, earnest tone, "Gali, we can’t always follow Sean’s orders—Teacher Janet told me that women should be independent and self-reliant, or they’ll lose themselves! So let’s kick Sean aside and enjoy this wonderful vacation!"
The purple-haired girl licked the remaining ice cream from her spoon, her little head unable to process it all at once. They had originally been going to a winter camp in Canada, but Mindy had acted on her own and brought her to Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming.
"But you used Sean’s credit card to buy the RV, snacks, and so many other things… If we’re supposed to be independent, shouldn’t we avoid using his money? Like how I refused the food my father gave me."
"Uh, haha…" Mindy laughed awkwardly twice and waved her hands as she explained, "It couldn’t be helped. You have to understand, how much allowance can a cute middle school student possibly have? Enough to buy an RV? Besides, I told you, we could try some other… less friendly methods, but you wouldn’t allow it."
The little girl curled back beneath the seat, enjoying the iced cola and chips that made her happy without even trying. This was a real vacation!
The sky gradually darkened as the sun sank below the horizon. The RV automatically slowed and pulled over by the roadside. The modified cabin was comfortable and spacious, with soft carpeting across the floor. A sofa and armchairs were secured against the walls. The interior was divided into upper and lower levels, much like an ordinary bus. The lower level served as a living room, with a small refrigerator, some tableware, a fully stocked liquor cabinet, and a television mounted above the counter.
The upper level was much simpler: one soft bed and a small wardrobe. The roof had also been designed as a skylight that could be opened at any time. If they wanted a little romance, they could lie on the bed and gaze up at the stars. That feeling had to be wonderful!
Simply put, this RV was like a mobile studio apartment, an essential item for home and travel—provided one could afford its exorbitant price.
Unfortunately, one particular little girl only treated it as a temporary bedroom. She had stuffed the liquor cabinet full of chips and snacks and packed the refrigerator to the brim with soda and cola, with no intention of getting out to admire the scenery.
"Gali, what do you think Sean is doing? Do you think he’s realized we’re gone and has started anxiously looking for us, saying, ‘Adorable Mindy, I’ll never make you wash dishes or dock your allowance again!’ Hahahaha…"
The little girl tossed her game console aside, suddenly stood up, and laughed with her hands on her hips. The thought of Sean looking regretful and guilty was just too amusing.
"Mindy…"
"Hm?"
Gali set down her ice cream, looking as though she wanted to say something but hesitated. Finally, she whispered, "Have you never wondered why the RV you bought can drive itself without a driver? And when you buy things, why your credit card limit never runs out…"
Her laughter came to an abrupt stop. The little girl lowered her head dejectedly and chewed chips in huge bites to vent her frustration. It was supposed to be a rare vacation, yet cruel Sean still wanted to send her to Canada for some winter camp. Mindy’s little cheeks puffed up.
"Hmph, isn’t he just trying to kick me aside? I saw through it long ago. Sean has some unspeakably intimate relationship with that neighbor who looks like a dairy cow… Only shallow men like big boobs, right, Gali?"
The purple-haired girl lowered her head to look, then nodded repeatedly, expressing her agreement with Mindy’s opinion.
"But why does Sean insist on sending you to Canada?"
"He said New York is the most dangerous place on Earth…"
Mindy pursed her lips and muttered softly, "Tch, I’m not some little kid. Is it like aliens are going to invade Earth or something?"
The purple-haired girl suddenly sank into thought. What if they were discovered after running away from home, and then her father came looking for her?
Maybe Earth would be eaten like an after-dinner snack, swallowed with a single chomp.
She quickly shook her little head, clearing away that terrifying thought.
"Hey, Mindy, what are you doing?"
Like a hamster, the little girl suddenly crawled in front of the purple-haired girl and caught her off guard with a kiss.
"There’s no taste at all, Gali. You lied to me." Mindy stared straight at her good friend. "You said you wanted to kiss Sean because he smells nice."
"It’s true. His scent… is warm, like sunlight. It feels really comfortable, and it’s as delicious as ice cream. It makes you want to take a lick…"
A serious expression appeared on her delicate little face. Hearing her friend’s explanation, Mindy thought for a moment, then pounced forward and kissed her again.
"Gali, I want to taste you too…"
"Ah! Mindy… don’t do this… mm."
The scene returned to New York, the Baxter Building.
A pale arm rested on the man’s solid chest. The bed and floor were both a complete mess, suggesting that the passionate pair had engaged in another fierce battle after returning to the apartment.
The red-haired beauty playing Miss Scarlett felt the lust in her beautiful eyes gradually fade. Her seemingly soft, powerless arm slowly moved, wrapping around the other person’s neck. In less than two seconds, she could snap the neck of the man sharing her bed.
After considering it for a long time, the rationality of an agent made her abandon that plan. Still, Miss Scarlett could not help feeling somewhat annoyed. Everything had happened for no apparent reason, like a lightning war.
This… was unbelievable no matter how she thought about it.
Next, she could only use the guise of an intimate partner to gain Sean’s trust and obtain more intelligence about Umbrella and the man himself. She absolutely could not let this bastard take advantage of her for nothing!
This guy is like a beast. The female agent thought viciously.
Even with her physical condition, she actually felt weak and sore all over. One could imagine just how intense and crazy the previous battle had been—from the conference room in Stark Tower, to the apartment balcony and bathroom, and finally the main battlefield—the bedroom bed!
"Darling, you’re awake?"
As though stirred by the movements of the person beside him, Sean opened his eyes. The tender, affectionate gaze he gave her made Miss Scarlett’s scalp tingle.
Hearing the man continuously murmur the name "Scarlett" by her ear, the female agent looked slightly dazed. Amid that extreme pleasure, she could not help temporarily immersing herself in the role, forgetting her real name.
