News of a New Card (Third Update, 4K; 10,000 Words Today-Please Subscribe)

Buzz!

A powerful aura gathered at Bai Cangshu’s fingertips. This sphere of aura, condensed from the energy flowing within his body before converging outside it, glimmered dangerously in the air.

Bai Cangshu held one hand upright before him, looking at Kaioh Kaku several dozen meters away before thrusting out a finger.

Pfft!

Kaioh Kaku froze as a golden beam of light, carrying a powerful mass of aura, struck him squarely in the face.

Boom!

An explosion immediately followed, and Kaioh Kaku fell straight down.

An ability like the Dodon Ray had completely surpassed the realm of martial techniques. It could not be neutralized through muscles or posture at all.

With a thought from Bai Cangshu, Kaioh Kaku, who was in the process of regenerating, vanished as well.

Divine Finger Technique (Dodon Ray) (A+) Lv1: Guides the aura within the body to condense intensely at the fingertips before firing it, inflicting explosive damage. Its power is positively correlated with the intensity of the aura and receives a tremendous amplification.
Martial Arts Mastery Lv5 (Sensen no Sen Deepening)—Martial cultivation has reached the inner hall. Force flows at will, allowing force to erupt from nearly any stance. Ignores an opponent's surface defenses, striking first to gain the advantage and arriving first even when striking later.

Bai Cangshu saw that nearly 6,000 of his Dimensional Points had vanished. In other words, he had actually spent less than two hours here.

In less than two hours, Bai Cangshu had used his training with Kaioh Kaku to break through in Martial Arts Mastery once more and chosen the Sensen no Sen deepening path.

Although the space’s Cultivation Institute was truly a gold-devouring monster, its results were also completely beyond anything a training facility in the real world could offer.

At the very least, in the real world, Reincarnators with ordinary human bloodlines could never ignore damage and experience the way different forms of force flowed through their bodies.

Of course, ordinary Reincarnators would not possess Bai Cangshu’s terrifying learning speed. His unusual learning ability and action-copying ability comparable to the Sharingan were both reasons for his rapid progress.

Bai Cangshu pushed open the door and walked out. His strength had once again risen considerably.

Dressed in a pink robe, Bai Cangshu was no longer an unknown nobody. His "exploits" had been widely spread throughout the Slum Area by busybodies and Information Brokers.

Even in the other three districts, Mercenary Tao’s name had begun circulating on a small scale.

Bai Cangshu smiled at those Reincarnators, and several of them covered their eyes and averted their gazes.

Leaving the Cultivation Institute, Bai Cangshu turned left and entered the Rank Management Office.

"Yo, Knight Sister. We meet again."

Bai Cangshu offered a meaningless greeting. Knight Sister, clad in armor, was wiping down a two-handed sword. Seeing a Reincarnator come in, she gave him an energetic smile.

"Congratulations on returning victorious from the abyss of Asura once again."

Bai Cangshu nodded. Perhaps Knight Sister’s popularity really did hit Reincarnators right in their weak spot.

Knight Sister suddenly raised her head and studied Bai Cangshu closely before speaking on her own initiative.

"You are shining with a golden radiance right now. It is a miracle that can allow you to further forge yourself."

When Bai Cangshu saw the space’s note after receiving an S-rank evaluation—that a Reincarnator who received an S-rank evaluation once could inquire about hidden services at the space’s major institutions—he had connected it to Knight Sister’s hint after the Advanced Trial.

Sure enough, his guess had been correct. The opportunity to forge more traits was the Rank Management Office’s hidden service, and receiving an S-rank evaluation was the trigger for that hidden service.

Knight Sister extended her hand, and a faint glow appeared.

"Only after a hundred battles does one become king. Only by enduring countless hardships can one surpass all mediocre people in the most terrifying adversity and be crowned king."

"That power is the reason one becomes king."

You have obtained the opportunity to unlock Bing-level hidden trait forging. (Bing-level can forge up to 3 traits.)
Exchange to unlock?

Bai Cangshu clicked his tongue inwardly. This Infinite Dimensional Space truly intended to squeeze Reincarnators dry. Even an S-rank evaluation was treated as a special currency that could be spent in exchange for hidden services.

It was foreseeable that not only the Rank Management Office, but also the Cultivation Institute, Alchemy Institute, and Appraisal Office possessed hidden high-tier services that could only be unlocked with an S-rank evaluation.

Bai Cangshu did not have a suitable head on hand, nor did he intend to use Doma’s mindless demon head as the material for his second forging.

Doma’s head was certainly not bad, but for Bai Cangshu, who now possessed a special physique, the improvement would ultimately be insufficient.

A Bing-level could only forge traits three times per reincarnation. In other words, every Reincarnator had a limited number of rank traits. They had to be chosen carefully in order to maximize one’s strength.

"When you are ready, you are welcome to visit again at any time."

Knight Sister waved farewell to Bai Cangshu, without the greed of a certain Goddess.

Bai Cangshu then made inquiries at the other three institutions. The Cultivation Institute’s hidden high-tier service could generate special spaces for specific abilities. For example, if one wished to train magic, it would create a space with an extremely high concentration of magical essence. Naturally, the rate at which it consumed Dimensional Points was also absurdly high.

The Alchemy Institute, meanwhile, would unlock item forging, allowing an item’s special ability to be transferred onto another item. In Bai Cangshu’s view, this effect was extremely powerful.

If someone possessed enough powerful equipment, they might be able to forge special items no less impressive than Divine Armaments. Simply wearing them would grant Reincarnators extraordinarily powerful ability bonuses.

The Appraisal Office’s special ability was to distort an item’s original nature, causing an unidentified item to undergo fundamental changes and deviations. That Fairy Master had boasted that he had once distorted a worthless old ring into a special magic ring capable of summoning a ring spirit.

Unfortunately, all of these high-tier services came with steep costs.

Bai Cangshu checked his remaining stay time. There was still quite a bit left, so he prepared to handle the transactions at his stall.

Now that he had obtained a way to unlock trait forging, there was naturally no need to favor gathering information. Bartering or directly exchanging for resources would both be more worthwhile options.

"Mercenary Tao, we meet again."

The man leaning against the wall wore a black tailcoat, dressed like a standard butler. This Information Broker codenamed Black Butler was one of the most famous figures Bai Cangshu had encountered.

Other Information Brokers might merely be earning some resources out of necessity.

But this fellow had clearly carved out a new path. Using information, he had formed connections with quite a few teams. Even the notoriously fierce Great Demon could be reached through him.

He was a very standard middleman.

Mercenary Tao narrowed his eyes and smiled at him.

"What, do you want to sell my information?"

Mercenary Tao knew that through his conversations with him, Black Butler had a considerable chance of figuring out that he was a rookie Reincarnator.

But that sort of thing was completely meaningless.

White Face had spread the news that Mercenary Tao had crushed the Fifth Element. The Fifth Element’s defeat and the deaths of all its core members were facts.

At a time like this, exposing Bai Cangshu as a rookie would only provoke White Face’s displeasure.

Black Butler looked at that "highly distinctive" face without fear. He had always been cautious. As an Information Broker navigating among numerous teams, he had yet to be doxxed and killed because of his meticulousness.

He had never left behind any flaw.

"Would you mind?"

"Several teams are very interested in your information right now. If I add that you are a rookie, I imagine it would fetch quite a price."

He was very frank. Black Butler understood that Reincarnators were all people with strong personalities, and those who had made a name for themselves were even more like freaks.

Such people did not necessarily fear having their information exposed, but if someone sold their information without authorization, they would definitely hold a grudge.

Information Brokers could make money, but they could not make people resent them.

That was why Black Butler communicated with someone before selling their confidential information.

Bai Cangshu appreciated Black Butler more and more. The man possessed extraordinary mental fortitude and ability.

"Sell it. You can sell it, but in return, I should get a cut. Perhaps a seventy-thirty split in my favor would be appropriate."

Bai Cangshu did not mind being watched. In any case, White Face and the Fifth Element’s remnants probably already wished they could devour him alive.

The more debts one had, the less one worried.

Bai Cangshu would not fear unknown danger. He would only find it more thrilling and exciting.

Black Butler knew he had guessed correctly. This Mercenary Tao truly belonged to the wildest type of Reincarnator. People like this either rose rapidly to become powerful figures, or…

They died and disappeared very quickly.

After thinking for a moment, he shook his head.

"My information channels are the key factor that allows this information to fetch a price. I will not give you the larger share, but…"

"I can give you a piece of information you will definitely be interested in, in exchange for selling your information."

Information Brokers were naturally most skilled at information trading, using information that could be sold repeatedly to obtain highly valuable resources.

"Oh?"

"What kind of information makes you think I would accept it as payment?"

Black Butler looked at Mercenary Tao’s dangerous gaze without changing expression. He raised one finger and spoke softly.

"Cards."

"Recently, a team called 9527 was confirmed by multiple Reincarnators to have attempted a Special Trial in a mission world. But the trial was disrupted, and 9527 was subsequently hunted by multiple Reincarnator teams."

"At present, the team leader and part of its core members have been confirmed dead. Only three members remain. That card is highly likely to be on one of those three, and they have currently disbanded 9527 and begun taking missions separately. Clearly, they are trying to split up and escape the pursuit."

Bai Cangshu raised an eyebrow. He had not expected it to be information about a card.

The value of such information was beyond question.

Bai Cangshu tilted his head and suddenly moved close to Black Butler. Less than ten centimeters separated them. The other Information Brokers nearby all broke into a cold sweat for Black Butler, feeling that he had most likely offended this newly risen fierce figure.

"Such valuable information, and you want to give it to me…"

"Heh, the information you intend to sell about me is probably not limited to the fact that I am a rookie Reincarnator, is it?"

Black Butler nodded, looking calmly at Bai Cangshu as he spoke.

"Correct. I intend to add one of my deductions. Before the last mission cycle, you spread information that Vincent was a Special Reincarnator, but someone on Gathering Salted Fish has now confirmed that Vincent is dead."

"At the same time, in Haidai City, East Xia, a special card that had already been activated appeared."

"I suspect that you, Mercenary Tao, are the true Special Reincarnator, correct?"

Black Butler adjusted his monocle. An imperceptible magical glow swept over his body, keeping his mind calm at all times.

"You used the information we spread to force Vincent out of the space, then successfully hunted him down in the real world and… possibly seized that card’s special sequence, becoming a Special Reincarnator. That is why you were able to cause the Fifth Element’s collapse and force White Face into retreat."

Black Butler finished his deduction in one breath. Bai Cangshu almost wanted to applaud him.

There were always people with clear minds in the Reincarnation Space.

"Although there are some errors in your deduction, only information of that value could make you offer that thing as compensation."

"Heh. Give me the target you believe is most likely, then feel free to sell my information for as high a price as you can."

Black Butler sighed inwardly in relief. This guy really was a complete madman. A fierce figure who had caused the Fifth Element’s collapse and one who might possess a special sequence held entirely different levels of appeal to those major teams.

Perhaps after he sold this information, some truly influential figures would begin taking notice of Mercenary Tao.

Reincarnator TT65562877 (Black Butler) has initiated a trade with you.
You have obtained Item: Record Pointer (Blue).

Black Butler tightened his clothes and looked around. This Record Pointer carried none of his information. The things he obtained from such transactions never truly passed through his hands.

He always remembered his identity as a middleman.

"This pointer records the information of the person I believe is most likely carrying the card. As for how to track them into a mission world, you can find the answer you want at Destiny’s official stall at the innermost part of the Slum Area."

Black Butler held down his hat and instantly vanished from the public space. He needed to get to work, selling this fresh information for a high price.

He had heard that there was a gathering in the East District that was extremely interested in Reincarnators with special sequences, especially Great Sin Sequences…

Record Pointer
Quality: Blue
Description: An alchemical item made by an alchemist based on a special pointer from a certain world. The pointer always pursues the target's location.

Effect 2: The pointer continuously points toward the target's location and can be reset.

Bai Cangshu weighed the crystal-ball-like pointer in his hand and made a decision.
