Nuclear Bombing Tokyo

Wei Yixiao pulled out a syringe and plunged it straight into his vein. The intense pain in his chest and abdomen immediately eased. With a flick of his wrist, he hurled the javelin again.

Pfft!

Bai Cangshu’s face twitched. At the last moment, he tilted his head aside. His cheekbone was sliced open, but the pain finally restored his ability to move completely.

That force was something he had rarely felt since leaving the Dragon Ball World.

That intense energy had not even struck him directly, yet it had still left his entire body rigid from the shock.

You have suffered an attack. Based on the mental disparity between both parties, you have obtained the following information:
You have been affected by an unknown Reincarnator's Hadouken and inflicted with the Paralyzed status.
You have suffered a thrown attack from Reincarnator CV74471152 and have broken free of the Paralyzed status.

"Tch. Hadouken. That really is something."

The Hadouken in games was only the size of a soccer ball. He had not expected this man to fire one nearly two meters wide.

This guy had probably already surpassed the Bing-level category.

Bai Cangshu swiftly swung his head from side to side, dodging the two javelins flying at him. He did not even look at the man continuously throwing javelins at him.

"Tch. Looks like your team has someone impressive."

"I’ll be leaving for now. If you aren’t afraid of dying, keep chasing me."

Seeing that the man who had fired the Hadouken was not rushing over, Bai Cangshu guessed that the other party might not excel at long-distance pursuit. Or perhaps he was fighting the trio.

Bai Cangshu sneered, waved at the scout who lacked offensive ability, then turned and began running again.

Wei Yixiao gripped a javelin. This Amazonian weapon was actually quite useful.

It could be used for close-range stabbing attacks with considerable lethality, and it could also be thrown to deal damage at medium to long range.

Though his attributes were not particularly high, he had used this weapon in tandem with technological targeting equipment to kill several Bing-level opponents. But…

Watching the enemy break into a sprint again, Wei Yixiao did not choose to give chase immediately.

"Sorry, Captain. He got away. I’m no match for him."

His heart was still spasming in his chest. He was certain that if not for the Captain’s long-range Hadouken, he would have been killed by that man.

That guy had deliberately lured him into pursuit.

And his attributes were extremely high. His escape speed, endurance over long distances, strength to shatter his shield in a single blow, and that sharp insight…

That guy was probably a Reincarnator with balanced attributes across the board.

And… his reactions were fast, his movements terrifyingly fluid. He had only ever seen that sort of skill in his own boss, who possessed Combat Mastery.

Once the enemy got close, he had no ability to resist at all.

"Mm, it’s fine. Come back first."

In the underground parking garage, a tall man with messy brown hair hanging down his back slowly removed his headset. Dressed in a loose hoodie, he jumped down from the roof of a car.

Watching the corpse of the tall, thin Reincarnator slowly vanish and become a Scarlet Drop Card, he lit a cigarette and said to the swordsman in the ghost mask,

"Clean up quickly. Go finish off those two injured bugs that ran away."

"Something happened on Yixiao’s end. One got away."

The swordsman codenamed Old Ghost wore a Hannya mask. His outerwear was also extremely light, making his figure appear particularly lean. In his hand was a katana over 1.2 meters long, its blade bright and clear.

With a flick of his blade, blood scattered through the air as he smoothly sheathed it.

He bent down to pick up the Scarlet Drop Card, not forgetting to mock his companion.

"Ha. I told Wei Yixiao long ago that instead of wasting money on those flashy, impractical tech gadgets, he should invest in himself. Sooner or later, someone was bound to kill him."

Kai said nothing more. Everyone had their own ideas. He knew Wei Yixiao probably had some ambitions and had been stockpiling resources because he had his eye on some special ability.

He did not care whether these brothers had conflicts with one another. As long as everyone could complete the work the team required of them, he could be very forgiving of other mistakes.

Besides… that guy really did have some skill. He had nearly killed Wei Yixiao in a single exchange. He did not seem like someone who had only recently entered the Bing-level.

As Bai Cangshu ran, he guessed that the other two groups probably would not meet very pleasant ends.

At least, in Bai Cangshu’s judgment, if the trio who had given him a ride encountered the man capable of firing Hadoukens, they would most likely be doomed.

The cruelty of Reincarnators lay in this: even if one had made no wrong decisions, even if the Space had not assigned a guaranteed-death mission, merely sharing a mission with opponents one could not defeat could still get one killed.

Bai Cangshu wore a smile, yet a layer of dark red flames inexplicably ignited over his body. The flames made him faster and gave him even more terrifying stamina.

Bai Cangshu sprinted dozens of kilometers in one breath before finally stopping. It was not that he could not run any farther. Rather… he was a little lost.

The Main Mission required him to leave Tokyo City within three days, but without a map, it was easy to lose one’s bearings in a city spanning more than two thousand square kilometers.

At the moment, Bai Cangshu could not see any landmark buildings, nor could he find anyone to ask for directions. He had no choice but to stop and search for something like a map.

He was currently near what appeared to be a park. The night was utterly silent, and Bai Cangshu had no desire to venture deep into the park. Encountering Cursed Spirits now would be extremely disadvantageous for him.

But suddenly, a clear human voice rang out.

"Hey, are you okay? Hang in there, I’m coming to save you!"

An energetic voice appeared. Bai Cangshu frowned. In a place like this, at a time like this, there were actually still humans around?

Bai Cangshu followed the voice and found a pickup truck parked along one side of the park, its engine still running.

A white-haired old man stood leaning against the truck, while a teenage boy with nearly pink short hair, dressed in sportswear, was trying to climb down into the park’s river channel to rescue someone.

The boy was physically fit. He soon climbed out of the river channel with a woman on his back. He blinked a few times, confirming that he was not seeing things. There really was a man standing behind his grandfather.

"Are you here to help with the rescue too?"

The boy asked, but Bai Cangshu frowned.

Yuji Itadori?

"What rescue?"

Bai Cangshu asked, though his nerves unconsciously tensed.

Yuji Itadori was not some simple hot-blooded protagonist. His birth itself had been the scheme of the thousand-year-old monster Kenjaku. At a time like this, Bai Cangshu did not want to be drawn into that person’s line of sight.

Only then did the old man, who had heard his grandson’s conversation, slowly turn around.

"Heh, Tokyo rescue efforts. Aren’t you here from somewhere else to help?"

"Or are you saying you escaped from that disaster of a city?"

Bai Cangshu’s pupils contracted. There was a clear stitched scar across the old man’s forehead.

This guy… was Kenjaku!

"Oh my. It seems you aren’t an ordinary person."

Kenjaku, using Wasuke Itadori’s body, wore a benevolent expression as he waved to Yuji Itadori.

"Yuji, go pull the others out too. They’ve probably been soaking in the water for a long time. They must be suffering."

Only then did Bai Cangshu notice that the woman Yuji Itadori had carried out had pale skin all over, and her face was already swollen.

She was clearly dead beyond all doubt.

Yet Yuji Itadori still wore an enthusiastic smile, constantly shouting toward the corpses in the river channel, telling them to hold on while he went to save them.

The scene was strange and sinister. Bai Cangshu was certain that this thousand-year-old sorcerer was behind it.

The other party had completely abandoned humanity, morality, even his own sense of shame and common sense. In pursuit of Cursed Energy Optimization, he had continuously created conspiracies over a thousand years, manipulating the Jujutsu World.

He should have been the true hidden boss of this world, but whether in the original anime or in this current world, the spotlight seemed to have been stolen from him.

"You’re on guard against me."

A smile appeared on Kenjaku’s face. His lips curled upward, twisting Wasuke Itadori’s aged face into something slightly distorted.

"So you know me."

"But I cannot sense the aura or cursed energy of any of those old friends from you. There is only one answer…"

"You are also one of those… special monkeys."

Bai Cangshu slightly raised his left hand. Looking at Kenjaku, he revealed an equally chilling smile.

"Kenjaku, even the Six Eyes Sorcerer you feared most is dead. Yet you’re still hiding in a place like this, doing this sort of thing. I’m guessing…"

"You must be afraid of something too. Let me think. Is it something in Tokyo City right now, or…"

Bai Cangshu had already formed the hand sign for Secret Rite: Inari God’s Strike with his left hand, ready to unleash it at any moment.

Kenjaku was a Jujutsu Sorcerer who had survived for a thousand years by continuously switching brains. Each time he changed bodies, he could master that body’s cursed technique.

This gave Kenjaku an extremely diverse range of abilities.

Although Kenjaku might not have possessed Suguru Geto’s body yet, Kaori Itadori’s gravity cursed technique alone posed an immense threat.

Bai Cangshu would not hold back against an enemy like this.

The smile vanished from Kenjaku’s face. Listening to Yuji Itadori carry the corpses into the truck, he considered for a moment before speaking.

"You should have fled the city because you fear that thing too. We… may have the same enemy."

Plot Character Kenjaku has invited you to join a hidden faction. Accept?

Bai Cangshu realized that he really did seem to be rather popular with these evil factions.

He looked back toward Tokyo City in the distance. Since he had encountered Kenjaku after heading west, if the others successfully broke through from the east and north, they would probably encounter certain Plot Characters as well, thereby triggering the subsequent Main Mission storyline.

After Yuji Itadori had rescued all those "people" and placed them in the bed of the pickup, he saw that his grandfather was chatting quite amicably with the unfamiliar tall man.

He then returned to the truck and waved at them.

"Grandpa, everyone’s been rescued! Let’s take them out of here!"

Kenjaku nodded "gratifiedly" at his son in the truest sense.

Then he took the front passenger seat of the pickup.

Bai Cangshu glanced at the pickup. Rather than getting into the cab, he jumped directly into the truck bed and stayed with the corpses.

Facing a thousand-year-old Jujutsu Sorcerer was far more dangerous than facing a few corpses.

The pickup quickly started moving, but Kenjaku’s voice still carried clearly to him.

"Those lunatics killed the Six Eyes Sorcerer through a forbidden method, yet they brought about the birth of an incomparably terrifying King of Curses. Heh, and now they want to rely on the Americans’ nuclear weapons to bomb Tokyo."

"How foolish."

Kenjaku seemed deliberately willing to share part of the information with Bai Cangshu.

After the pickup drove for half the night, Bai Cangshu finally saw the notification that the Main Mission had been completed.

Successfully escaped Silent City: Tokyo
Main Mission Phase One completed. Obtained E-rank Anomaly Point ×1, Dimensional Points 1000.
Main Mission Phase Two has begun.
Main Mission Two: Prevent the King of Curses' resurrection.
Mission Reward: All participants receive C-rank Anomaly Point ×1. Core contributors receive B-rank Anomaly Point ×1. Sole completion grants A-rank Anomaly Point ×1.
Failure Penalty: Main Mission Phase Three will be forcibly activated.

The moment Bai Cangshu saw the mission prompt, he had already guessed what the so-called Main Mission Phase Three would be.

If the Reincarnators could not complete Main Mission Two—preventing the King of Curses’ resurrection—then the inevitably triggered Main Mission Phase Three would naturally require them to kill the King of Curses.

Combined with the powerful Reincarnator from Fifth Element whom he had encountered not long ago, who was clearly far stronger than a Bing-level Reincarnator…

The difficulty of this Main Mission was already foreseeable.

This mission was far more difficult than the one in Demon Slayer.

Bai Cangshu frowned. By all rights, he had only just entered the Bing-level. He should not have encountered a mission of such difficulty.

There had to be some problem here.

But now was not the time to think about that.

Since he understood his own weakness, his immediate priority was naturally to obtain information and find the key factor capable of reversing the situation.

In some respects, the Kenjaku before him was one of those beings with decisive power.

Over the course of a thousand years and countless identity changes, Kenjaku had thoroughly infiltrated and corrupted the entire Jujutsu World to a considerable degree. He possessed nearly the greatest intelligence and network advantage.

"Lord Kenjaku, from what you’re saying, a nuclear bombing of Tokyo cannot kill the King of Curses?"

In certain fictional settings, a nuclear blast had an effect similar to an artificial sun. Although Cursed Spirits were not afraid of sunlight to begin with, Bai Cangshu asked deliberately.

Kenjaku chuckled.

"Nuclear bombing? Heh. Other than breeding even more terrifying Cursed Spirits, that thing probably won’t accomplish anything."

"Cursed Spirits are lifeforms born from fear and curses. Other than cursed energy, what can the flames and explosions of ordinary people accomplish besides creating fear in even more people?"

"Cursed energy is the key to exorcising Cursed Spirits."

"Mercenary Tao, I can sense that you possess the aptitude—the aptitude to command powerful cursed energy."

Ever since Mercenary Tao had scorned Bai Cangshu in his first Dragon Ball World for lacking the aptitude for ki, he had not expected another villainous Plot Character to praise him for possessing exceptional aptitude for cursed energy.

The cursed energy of the Jujutsu World was, ultimately, a type of energy derived from negative emotions.

The stronger the negative emotions, the purer and more powerful the cursed energy they brewed.

Bai Cangshu revealed a chilling smile and nodded.

"Yes, I can feel it too."

"After all, my purity… is very high."
