Odin, You’ve Crossed the Line!

The wind rose.

It grew stronger and stronger, soon exceeding force twelve.

The relentless gale tried to sweep Old Wang into the sky, accelerating him toward the straight-falling Thor’s Hammer for an intimate encounter in a foreign land.

Old Wang stood with his hands behind his back, unmoving as a mountain.

Standing on the ground, he seemed fused with the earth itself, possessed of inexhaustible strength.

As long as he refused, no one could make him leave.

Thousands upon thousands of bolts of lightning brewed, converging on Thor’s Hammer from every direction.

This divine artifact with its glorious history charged itself continuously like a power bank.

Every bolt that struck the hammer made the Runic Symbols on it shine a little brighter.

When tens of millions of bolts finally descended, Thor’s Hammer truly seemed forged from lightning itself, its entire body glowing white and radiating brilliance.

A will even more terrifying than Ancient One’s locked firmly onto Old Wang, forcing him to marshal all his focus against that one eye from who knew how many light-years away—the thunder-filled eye of the god-king.

Silent and majestic, it carried the weathered weight of ancient times, along with the scrutiny and interrogation of a cosmic Allfather.

In this universe, it was the first time Old Wang had seen such a gaze.

It was unlike Sorcerer Supreme Ancient One’s calm fury, steeped in five thousand years of history.

Yet in another world, he had seen it countless times. He had also looked at others countless times with the same eyes, so it was naturally neither unfamiliar nor frightening.

It even felt somewhat intimate and nostalgic.

Compared to that one eye, which seemed to contain boundless divine might, the other pair of golden pupils that could see across the Nine Realms was practically negligible. Old Wang would not even spare them a second glance.

Tens of thousands of lightning bolts crisscrossed, forming a magic array similar to a teleportation-sealing barrier that locked down the space within several hundred kilometers.

Using Teleportation under such circumstances would be impossible without Ancient One’s power.

Even if Doctor Strange returned from 2018 to the present, he absolutely could not do it.

This was power on the level of a Sorcerer Supreme.

Even across the universe, such beings were rare.

"Odin!"

Feeling the absolute suppression at the spiritual level, Old Wang let out a muffled groan.

That old bastard had done it on purpose!

From the very beginning, he had avoided the storm.

The center of the storm had clearly been a hundred meters away. Why had Thor’s Hammer suddenly changed direction and flown toward him, and why did it just so happen to be falling right on his head?

Most importantly,

Thor’s Hammer had originally just been casually tossed by Odin, no different from throwing away trash. At most, it would smash a huge crater into the ground, attract a crowd of curious onlookers, and then turn into a contest to see who was strong enough to pull the hammer out.

But now?

What the hell was with that world-destroying lightning?

Why was he watching me instead of keeping an eye on his precious son?

Odin, what the hell did I ever do to you?

I have no interest in that crappy hammer, and no interest in your idiotic shut-in son either!

"Hmph!" Old Wang’s expression darkened.

He could figure out Odin’s intentions without even thinking.

This was probably…

A warning?

Being personally warned by Odin, ruler of the Nine Realms, Old Wang really did not know whether he should feel honored.

The other party’s meaning was simple:

This time, it was a trial for my precious son, meant to help him see himself clearly, awaken greater power, and gain the qualification to become king of the gods. No idle outsiders were allowed to interfere.

Otherwise, do not blame me for being rude!

The problem was…

Odin, did you even have time to warn me?

Did you even have the ability to warn me?

By my calculations, you were about to fall into Odinsleep, weren’t you?

Did you really think I was afraid of you?

Come on, then. Let’s hurt each other.

Don’t hold back on my account!

"Ruler of the Nine Realms, King of Asgard…"

"Master of Gungnir, Allfather above the gods…"

"The strongest being in this universe, conqueror and slaughterer of countless worlds…"

"An absolute powerhouse with maxed-out attributes, a formidable figure who made Thanos wary enough not to invade Earth…"

"You…"

"Are old!"

Boom!

As the final note fell, Old Wang began a complete transformation of body and soul.

The gale howled as it surged into his body, turning into pure storm elements before emerging once more and condensing into a brand-new body of storm.

A second Old Wang appeared.

Elemental Separation!

This was one of the ultimate skills of a Pandaren Monk. Old Wang stripped away all but one of the four elements, transforming into a Storm Spirit.

The lightning filling the sky had originally existed solely because of Thor’s Hammer, but now a great portion of it was drawn to the Storm Spirit.

Tens of thousands of lightning bolts crashed down, charging the Storm Spirit.

The body was the soul’s prison.

Old Wang’s frail flesh forced most of his soul into slumber, leaving him able to use less than three percent of it.

But now, Old Wang had broken free from the body’s restraints.

He transferred a small portion of his soul into the Storm Spirit.

A mere elemental incarnation naturally could not bear his entire soul, but it was more than enough to deal with the current situation.

The Storm Spirit opened its eyes.

One eye was a sea of lightning; two electric eyes were an entire world.

A world of lightning.

It looked up and met Odin’s eye.

Through the teleportation passage opened by the Bifrost, two souls transcending mortals clashed for the first time.

Their spirits battled in an unseen world.

The lightning storm Odin had summoned across countless light-years lost control because of Old Wang’s interference, split between Thor’s Hammer and the Storm Spirit.

The residents of the entire town, and even several nearby towns, woke from their sleep and crawled out of their beds to look up.

They could not see the Storm Spirit or Thor’s Hammer.

But they could see countless bolts of lightning gathering in two places, one above and one below, transforming into two Ball Lightning spheres that grew larger and brighter.

Besides Jane, who came equipped with an astronomical telescope, this clash of peaks had other spectators.

Pairs of eyes crossed the barriers of thousands upon thousands of miles, casting their gazes into the lightning prison in the sky.

One pair came from Kamar-Taj.

One pair came from K’un-Lun.

One pair came from Wakanda.

Several more came from places unknown to ordinary mortals.

"Odin? What is he doing here?"

The same question arose simultaneously in the minds of Ancient One, Shou-Lao, Bast, and several other beings.

The next moment, they all heard a voice.

"This is Earth, not some Midgard."

"This is the territory of the Sorcerer Supreme, the territory of all Earthlings—not a colony of Asgard."

"This is my turf."

"Odin, you’ve crossed the line!"

Boom!

The Storm Spirit rose against the sky and raised its left hand.

The powers of wind and lightning condensed together in its palm, becoming a sharp gleam.

The gleam expanded in the wind, growing larger and larger until it finally became a giant sword.

It was not the Blessed Blade of the Windseeker called Thunderfury, which imprisoned a Wind Elemental Demigod no less powerful than Thor.

It was merely a concentration of wind and lightning, without physical form.

But it was enough.

The next moment, the Storm Spirit raised its sword and pierced the blazing light.
