Orochimaru’s New Baby

Chapter 282: Orochimaru’s New Baby

The brief clash was enough for everyone in the Akatsuki Organization to understand that Orochimaru, whom they still had yet to meet, was not someone to be trifled with.

Both those monsters and the methods he had just used were things they had never heard of before.

Nagato’s expression was equally grim.

The negotiations had broken down much faster than he had imagined.

Especially since he had received some very unfavorable news.

That mysterious man forbids large-scale slaughter.

What a joke!

How many people had died in the Rain Village because of war? If they did not experience that kind of pain, the war would never end.

"Orochimaru, this is your last chance." Determination filled Nagato’s Rinnegan. "Alliance, or death?"

Nothing could stop him from advancing toward his goal.

Therefore, if Orochimaru insisted on standing in his way,

Nagato would never back down.

"Uchiha Itachi, surely you understand how ignorant this man is by now." Orochimaru’s hoarse voice echoed from all directions. "Do you still intend to remain with someone so ignorant? Why not come to my side instead? We, as Chamber Members, are the ones who possess the world’s future."

Orochimaru wanted to wipe them all out without revealing himself.

Separating them was an excellent choice.

Although he was confident in his own strength, Orochimaru did not mind using a few tricks. To him, the result was what mattered most.

"I don’t trust you."

Itachi Uchiha stated his position directly.

Without the slightest hesitation.

This made Nagato, who had been watching him intently, relax slightly.

If Itachi Uchiha defected at this moment, it would undoubtedly make an already bad situation even worse.

"How foolish. I thought you would be able to understand me." Orochimaru said this, but there was no disappointment in his tone. Instead, it carried clear excitement. "The time is about right. It’s time to let you see my new baby!"

Whether it was the Death Knights from before or the things he had said,

their true purpose had simply been to stall for time.

The moment his voice fell, the ground beneath everyone’s feet began to tremble.

"Everyone, be careful. It might be the Bone Dragon."

Itachi Uchiha called out a warning, his brows furrowing slightly.

That Bone Dragon had clearly been smashed to pieces by Tsunade.

Even if it could recover, only about a day had passed. Could it really have recovered that quickly?

"As expected, you were there that day too, Uchiha Itachi. But—" Orochimaru’s hoarse voice suddenly rose sharply. "This isn’t the Bone Dragon. This is my masterpiece, the first work of art I created with my own hands."

As if to prove his words,

a huge tentacle suddenly thrust out of the ground and lashed toward the members of the Akatsuki Organization.

Everyone scattered and dodged at once.

With a boom,

the earth beneath the moonlight split apart from the impact. Huge chunks of rock and soil flew more than ten meters into the air, showing just how immense its power was.

"What the hell is this thing?" Deidara’s voice came from far away. "It’s hideous! This can be called a work of art?"

The tentacle before them was covered in countless densely packed holes that continued to writhe. Anyone with trypophobia would probably faint after one look.

To make matters worse, green slime seeped from the writhing flesh, dripping onto the ground. After making a sizzling sound, it continually corroded the earth.

And this was not the end.

A second tentacle, then a third and a fourth.

The ground continued melting under the corrosion. The monster beneath the earth gradually revealed its true form. It was a huge, snake-like monster with claws, and all its tentacles grew from its head and danced wildly. At their base was a huge mouth lined with sharp teeth.

Horror, disgust, and distortion—these were the first impressions the monster gave people.

Konan, the only woman in the Akatsuki Organization, could not help showing an expression of disgust.

"Allow me to give you a little warning." Orochimaru’s voice carried a hint of smugness. "This baby contains treasures from jars worth nearly twenty million Points in total. Uchiha Itachi, you should understand what that represents. As for what it can do, even I, its creator, cannot be certain."

Originally, this had been a complete failure.

Its core was the corpse of the Young Dragon.

At first, Orochimaru had only wanted to create a pet that could temporarily replace the Bone Dragon.

But to prevent it from collapsing, he put in even more materials, going so far as to use the power of the Evil God to fuse them together. In the end, he created this monster.

Just as Orochimaru himself had said,

it was an accidental creation, a representation of disorder, an unknown grotesquerie.

Even Shen Mo could not help clicking his tongue.

This was far too reckless. Orochimaru had perfectly embodied the traits of a mad scientist, fusing rigor and chaos into one while craving collisions of inspiration.

"Uchiha Itachi," Kakuzu asked as he looked at Itachi Uchiha, "what does the twenty million Points he mentioned mean?"

"It’s roughly equivalent to 350 million yuan." Itachi Uchiha paused briefly before using another comparison. "It could instantly give an ordinary person strength surpassing that of an average Jonin."

"What? Just an average Jonin?" Hidan cut in from the side, staring excitedly at the monster radiating an evil aura before them. "It looks pretty good. If we offer it to the Evil God, the Evil God will surely be pleased."

"Don’t let your guard down!"

Itachi Uchiha said quietly as he raised the long blade in his hand, its polished surface reflecting his eyes.

Amaterasu!

Pitch-black flames ignited across the huge monster’s body.

They had originally been no more than a small cluster, but in an instant, they spread across the monster’s entire body.

Dozens of tentacles began whipping about frantically, and what seemed like a painful howl echoed through the entire night sky.

"Hey, hey, stealing my sacrifice is going too far." Hidan was very displeased.

Itachi Uchiha said nothing, merely staring at the monster before him.

He felt vaguely uneasy.

A Jonin created with twenty million Points had started as an ordinary person, but it was no ordinary person. He still remembered Gato from back then. If Gato had possessed richer combat experience, Kisame Hoshigaki would already have died in that battle.

Not to mention that the Blue Rare treasure from a jar—the Bone Dragon—already possessed that level of strength. The combined effect of ten Level 2 Chests was still far inferior to that of a single Level 3 Chest.

Strength could never be estimated simply by quantity.

And at that moment,

"Only this much, for 350 million yuan?" Nagato’s mocking voice rang out.

But the moment he thought of Yahiko’s corpse falling into the other party’s hands and being turned into that kind of monster, a surge of fury burned through his chest.
