Peerless Dragon Snake, Little Ao Takes the Field
After chatting with Flender for a while, Yu Xiaogang looked at Su Yu beside him and asked, "Xiao Yu, do you have any objections?"
"Eh? Me? What objections could I have?" Su Yu froze for a moment. How had this suddenly become about him?
Yu Xiaogang smiled. "You heard the training plan I just laid out, right? With how desperately you protect Xiao Wu, can you bear to let her suffer so much?"
Su Yu smiled faintly, took a sip of tea, and said, "Teacher, I do always protect Xiao Wu, but that doesn’t mean I can’t tell right from wrong. I won’t object to anything that benefits her."
"Good. That’s all I needed to hear. Just don’t say you can’t bear it when the time comes," Yu Xiaogang said with a smile.
Yu Xiaogang and Tang San both knew perfectly well just how fiercely Su Yu protected Xiao Wu. Over the past few years, even someone gossiping about Xiao Wu behind her back would be beaten into a pig’s head by Su Yu.
Over the years, countless people in Notting City had been beaten up by Su Yu. Eventually, no one dared speak badly of Xiao Wu anymore, much less provoke her. Whenever they saw her, they called her Sister Xiao Wu.
Xiao Wu did not know why they called her Sister Xiao Wu, but she rather liked the title and did not investigate why they called her that.
Star Dou Great Forest
Tang San and the others had already found a suitable Soul Beast for Oscar: a thousand-year Phoenix-tail Crested Serpent. After they joined forces to defeat it, Snake Granny of the Peerless Dragon Snake arrived with her granddaughter.
Just as Oscar was about to kill the Phoenix-tail Crested Serpent, Snake Granny immediately called out, "Wait, you can’t kill that snake!"
Everyone looked at the elderly woman and the girl who had suddenly appeared. Oscar asked, "Why can’t we kill it?"
"We found this snake first," the elderly woman said, looking at Oscar.
"How can you prove that you found it first?" Oscar asked irritably. He was about to obtain his Soul Ring, only to be interrupted. Oscar was extremely displeased.
Snake Granny said, "There is a wound on the Phoenix-tail Crested Serpent’s abdomen caused by my cane."
Tang San took a look. Sure enough, there was a distinct wound. Looking at Snake Granny’s cane, he could confirm that Snake Granny had injured it.
Zhao Wuji clasped his fists and asked, "May I ask who you are?"
"This old woman is Chao Tianxiang, known to others as Snake Granny. My husband is called Dragon Lord. And who might you be?" Snake Granny said slowly.
Zhao Wuji was startled for a moment, then replied, "So you are the renowned Peerless Dragon Snake. This junior is Zhao Wuji."
"I was wondering where such a young Soul Saint had come from. So it’s Zhao Wuji." Snake Granny clearly knew of Zhao Wuji’s reputation.
"Brother Zhao, I am older than you, so I’ll call you Brother Zhao. Brother Zhao, my granddaughter has reached Rank 30 and needs this Phoenix-tail Crested Serpent. I hope you can give this snake to us," Snake Granny said as she looked at Zhao Wuji.
Zhao Wuji immediately shook his head. "No. Someone on our side has also reached Rank 30 and needs this snake."
"What? You’re saying someone here has also reached Rank 30?" As she spoke, Snake Granny looked over the group in disbelief.
Zhao Wuji smiled proudly. "Little monsters, let Senior see your strength."
Everyone immediately nodded and released their Soul Rings one after another. Snake Granny stared at the group of two-ring Soul Masters, as well as Dai Mubai with his three rings, and remained silent for a long time.
After a moment, Snake Granny said, "In that case, let us follow the rules of the Soul Master world. Let the two fight once. Whoever wins gets the snake."
"I’m afraid that won’t work," Zhao Wuji refused.
Snake Granny’s soul power surged as she said angrily, "Zhao Wuji, don’t refuse a toast only to drink a forfeit! This is the rule of the Soul Master world. How can you refuse to follow it?"
Zhao Wuji immediately clasped his fists. "Senior, it isn’t that I’m unwilling. It’s just that my student is a food-system Soul Master. How can he fight your granddaughter?"
"What? A food-system Soul Master?" Snake Granny was shocked.
At that moment, Oscar stepped forward and looked at Zhao Wuji. "Teacher Zhao, even a clay figurine has its limits. I’ll fight."
Zhao Wuji immediately said, "Little Ao, have you lost your mind? You’re only a food-system Soul Master!"
Oscar smiled faintly. "What’s wrong with food-system Soul Masters? Who says food-system Soul Masters can’t fight?"
Oscar now had confidence in himself. He was impervious to blades and spears, immune to all poisons. Even with a brick, he could smash his opponent to death.
Tang San said, "Teacher Zhao, we believe in Oscar. Please let him go."
Seeing that everyone else believed in Oscar, Zhao Wuji gave a bitter smile and nodded. "All right. Little Ao, be careful. If you can’t win, surrender."
Oscar nodded. Tang San walked over to Oscar and handed him a dagger. "Little Ao, take this."
Oscar took the dagger and looked at Tang San. "Xiao San, thank you."
Tang San smiled and patted Oscar on the shoulder. What man did not wish to one day fight someone until the heavens darkened and the earth dimmed? Tang San, Dai Mubai, and the others all understood Oscar. Although Oscar’s food-system Martial Soul was incredibly powerful, food-system Soul Masters were ultimately support types. Men always had a heart that longed for battle, so they all strongly supported Oscar in this fight.
Oscar walked up to Snake Granny’s granddaughter and clasped his fists. "Oscar, Rank 30, two-ring Tool Soul Master. Martial Soul: sausage."
Meng Yiran clasped her fists. "Meng Yiran, Rank 30, two-ring Battle Soul Master. Martial Soul: Serpent Cane."
Meng Yiran said disdainfully, "A food-system Soul Master like you dares fight me? You don’t know your place."
Oscar snorted. "Food-system Soul Masters can’t fight? Today, I’ll make you lose to this food-system Soul Master!"
Meng Yiran smiled disdainfully and charged straight at him, activating her first Soul Skill with the intention of defeating Oscar in one move. Oscar stood still, allowing Meng Yiran’s first Soul Skill to strike him.
Though Meng Yiran’s first Soul Skill hurt badly when it landed on Oscar, he forced himself to keep a straight face and smiled. "You’re not much of a Battle Soul Master either!"
Meng Yiran said in shock, "How is that possible? How could you be fine after taking my attack without moving?"
Oscar smiled smugly. "Use whatever other tricks you have."
Meng Yiran’s expression darkened. "Fine. Let’s see whether you’re afraid of poison!" As she spoke, Meng Yiran directly released a cloud of Poison Mist.
Oscar remained calm as the Poison Mist quickly enveloped him. He took a breath of it and instantly felt that the place where he had just been hit no longer hurt. A glint flashed through Oscar’s eyes, and he began taking deep breaths.
Meng Yiran stared at the scene in utter confusion. "Has he gone crazy…?"
Zhao Wuji said anxiously, "Little Ao, what are you doing? Are you trying to get yourself killed?"
Tang San was an ancestor when it came to poison. Seeing Oscar’s complexion and condition, he said, "Teacher Zhao, don’t worry. Little Ao is fine. Not only is he fine, he seems exceptionally well!"
