play

In a high-end suite at the Taida Hotel, four computers were placed side by side.

"Everyone, relax. Don't be too tense. From now on, stop focusing on training. Just play around to keep your feel for the game. We've already familiarized ourselves with the tactics and the members of the various teams during this training period, so there's no need to push yourselves too hard before the match."

"Only a relaxed state of mind will allow you to perform better in the competition."

He Pengfei looked at Lin Guangqing and the other two, speaking slowly.

"Fei-ge, we understand."

Lin Guangqing replied with a smile. As a retired champion player himself, he naturally knew the importance of staying relaxed.

For veteran players like them who had participated in many competitions, this was not a problem at all.

"That's good!"

He Pengfei nodded, not saying anything more. After all, these people were veteran players too, and they understood what he meant.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the Room door.

Hearing the sound, He Pengfei walked over and opened the door.

"General Manager Tao."

Seeing the person at the doorway, He Pengfei greeted him.

"Hmm, call the other three, change your clothes, and gather in the lobby. General Manager Chen will be here in a moment to take everyone to West Lake for some sightseeing and relaxation."

Tao Ze looked at He Pengfei and said quickly.

"Sightseeing? At this time?"

He Pengfei looked at Tao Ze in confusion.

"Yes, General Manager Chen will be here soon. Hurry up and get ready; don't keep General Manager Chen waiting."

"Do we need to wear our team uniforms?"

"That's not necessary. Since you're going out for fun, just wear whatever clothes you like."

After saying this, Tao Ze left quickly; he still had to notify the other staff members.

General Manager Chen had expressed that he wanted to take all the staff members out for sightseeing together.

Although he didn't understand General Manager Chen's approach—the competition started tomorrow, after all, and regardless of whether the team could achieve good results, they should at least put in some effort—since it was General Manager Chen's order, it had to be executed.

Inside the Room, He Pengfei looked at Lin Guangqing and the other two and recounted the news he had just received.

"Going out for sightseeing? The competition starts tomorrow, so this doesn't seem right."

Lin Guangqing looked surprised upon hearing this.

He didn't understand what General Manager Chen was thinking; they had a match tomorrow, yet he was taking the team out for sightseeing today.

Which team, at a time like this, wasn't studying their opponents for the next day and finalizing tactics?

"General Manager Chen has already given the order, so hurry up and get ready. Going out for some fun isn't bad; think of it as relaxation. We've already arranged how to deal with tomorrow's opponents. When we get back from sightseeing, we'll just play a couple of games to keep our feel."

He Pengfei said calmly. He didn't think there was anything wrong with going out for some fun. Many players performed poorly in competitions for many reasons, often because they valued the upcoming match too much and trained frantically before the game, causing them to be mentally tense, which often led to mistakes during the match.

This was also the reason why some players who usually played very well often performed quite averagely during competitions.

Therefore, going out for some sightseeing was not necessarily a bad thing.

Soon, the four of them returned to their Rooms, changed into their own clothes, and went to the hotel lobby to wait.

…

In the hotel lobby, Chen Mo put his luggage into his Room and came to the resting area of the hotel lobby.

"General Manager Chen!"

As soon as he walked to the front of the resting area, Tao Ze greeted him.

"Hmm, has everyone arrived? Is the itinerary arranged?"

Chen Mo looked at the person quietly. He had only met Tao Ze twice, so he had some impression of him, but not much.

Usually, when arranging tasks, he would find Yao Beiguo.

"General Manager Chen, everyone has arrived and is in the lobby's resting area. The route has also been planned. Today we will go to West Lake for sightseeing, and tomorrow morning we can go to Lingyin Temple; I heard the temple there is quite efficacious."

Tao Ze said quickly. This General Manager Chen was the president of the Group, so he naturally had to perform well.

"Good, then get ready to depart."

Chen Mo replied and walked directly into the hotel's resting area.

At this time, the hotel lobby's resting area was already full of people. Upon seeing him approach, they all stood up.

"Hello, General Manager Chen!"

Everyone in the resting area shouted in unison.

"Everyone sit down!"

Chen Mo looked at the Group in the resting area; there were about a dozen people.

Taking more than ten people out for sightseeing was a good way to spend some System Funds.

"Everyone get ready. The cars are already parked at the hotel entrance, so we are leaving now."

Tao Ze stepped forward to greet the Group in the resting area and walked towards the outside of the hotel lobby.

"General Manager Chen, your car has also been arranged. Please come with me."

Yao Beiguo came to Chen Mo's side and said in a low voice.

"Hmm!"

Chen Mo nodded upon hearing this and turned to walk outside.

When they arrived outside, there were three cars waiting at the hotel entrance.

"General Manager Chen, your car is here."

Yao Beiguo respectfully led General Manager Chen to the black high-end business car at the front.

Chen Mo took a look and sat inside directly.

He had arranged for these cars to be rented. Although the BL Game Club had its own business cars, it would take a long time to drive from Jiangcheng to here, so he gave up on that idea.

He had arranged for Yao Beiguo to rent a few cars here; of course, the price couldn't be too cheap.

Soon, everyone got into the cars, and the vehicles started slowly, heading straight towards West Lake.

About half an hour later, the three cars arrived at the scenic spot's parking lot, and the Group slowly got off.

Chen Mo walked to Yao Beiguo's side, asked a few questions, and then walked straight towards the four e-sports players.

"Hello, General Manager Chen!"

Lin Guangqing and the others quickly greeted General Manager Chen as they saw him walking over.

"Hmm, you have a match tomorrow. Are you nervous?"

Chen Mo looked at the four people in front of him and said calmly.

"General Manager Chen, saying we aren't nervous would definitely be a lie; we are still a bit nervous. However, we are all veteran players, so this kind of tension is fine and won't affect us. So, General Manager Chen, please rest assured, we will definitely bring our best performance to the match tomorrow and win the championship for this tournament."

He Pengfei said earnestly.

Championship!

Chen Mo was taken aback for a moment when he heard He Pengfei's words, but then he smiled.

It was basically impossible for a team organized by retired professional players to win the tournament championship.

Yao Beiguo had also mentioned this.

Championship!

This was probably the obsession, or perhaps the ultimate goal, of every e-sports player.

No matter who they were!

As long as they became an e-sports player, the championship was their goal.

After all, in the e-sports circle, there was no second place, only the first.

Only by stepping onto the highest podium could they be remembered by everyone.

And these four retired professional players were the same, even if their hand speed and reaction times could no longer compare to those young professional players, they still had a championship dream in their hearts!

Thinking of this, Chen Mo suddenly thought of an ancient poem.

"An old steed in the stable still aspires to gallop a thousand miles."
