#25
Prince of Daxia
The man suddenly felt a chill go through his bones, as if he had been targeted by a primordial beast.
Without a second thought, the scarred man immediately changed the direction of the punch he had aimed at Long Chen, meeting the fist that was a size larger than a plate.
"Bang!"
With a loud explosion, the entire restaurant shook, and everyone felt their hearts tremble violently. A massive figure was seen blocking the path in front of Long Chen; it was none other than A-Man.
At this moment, A-Man resembled a giant war god, his eyes blazing like fire, and a strange red hue appearing on his skin as he forcefully blocked the scarred man's punch.
The scarred man was shocked to his core. He never dreamed that the big guy could block him relying solely on the power of his Physical Body.
However, although he had blocked the scarred man's punch, A-Man was forced back several steps, almost landing on his backside before Long Chen reached out to steady him.
The scarred man's expression shifted several times. Neither Long Chen nor A-Man showed any signs of cultivation, yet they had repeatedly blocked him, a Blood Condensation Realm expert. While shocked, his eyes were filled with killing intent.
Seeing the killing intent on the scarred man's face, Long Chen knew he had murderous intentions and felt a jolt of alarm. His Fengfu Star had not yet reached Major Achievement, and he was completely unable to deal with him.
Most importantly, although the scarred man was furious, he was deep and calculating, never using any battle skills, which meant he clearly hadn't unleashed his true strength.
A-Man had suddenly become much stronger for some unknown reason, but even if the two of them joined forces, they absolutely could not block the scarred man's lethal strike.
Long Chen quietly brushed his ring, and a fiery red pill slowly appeared in his hand, his eyes fixed coldly on the scarred man.
"Stop!"
Just as the scarred man was about to make his move, a cold shout rang out, and a group of people appeared in the restaurant.
There were over a dozen people in total, all wearing guard uniforms, but the two men in the lead were dressed in yellow robes, looking extremely luxurious.
"Greetings, Your Highness the Crown Prince."
Upon seeing the man, everyone was greatly shocked and hurriedly knelt to pay their respects.
The person was none other than the current Crown Prince, Chu Yang. He looked to be twenty-seven or twenty-eight years old, with a straight nose and square mouth, possessing a dignified air.
The man beside him looked slightly younger than Chu Yang, with fair skin and handsome features, but he gave off an effeminate, sinister feeling.
"Brother Chu Yang, is this how you treat guests in your Phoenix Empire?" the man asked with a sinister tone.
Chu Yang's expression was ugly as he looked at the man with slanted eyebrows lying on the ground, and he angrily shouted, "What is going on? Are you blind? Don't you know they are honored guests from the Great Xia Empire?"
As Chu Yang's gaze swept over everyone, Fatty Yu and the others broke out in a cold sweat, their hearts pounding.
They realized that since that person could speak to the Crown Prince like that, and given his unique hairstyle, he must be a prince of the Great Xia Empire.
The Great Xia Empire and the Phoenix Empire were similar in national strength and had once been mortal enemies, but in recent decades, relations had eased, and friendly diplomatic ties had been established.
However, unlike the Emperor of the Phoenix Empire, the Great Xia Empire only had two princes, and they didn't know if this person was the First Prince or the Second Prince.
"It wasn't my eyes that were blind; it was this guy with the slanted eyebrows who was blind. So, I had to teach him a lesson on behalf of his master."
Long Chen walked out and said to Chu Yang in an indifferent tone.
"Who are you?" Seeing a youth dare to speak to him in such a tone, Crown Prince Chu Yang felt secretly angry, but he remained calm and did not order his subordinates to seize him immediately.
"Long Chen."
Chu Yang was stunned. If he hadn't known the name Long Chen before, there were few in the Imperial Capital's noble circles who didn't know it now.
Originally a piece of trash, he had twice defeated a Qi Gathering Realm expert in the arena and later inexplicably became an Alchemist Apprentice, which instantly draped Long Chen in a veil of mystery.
"Why did you beat Prince Changfeng's guard?" Chu Yang felt a tremor in his heart. The matter involved the Alchemist Guild, and even as the Crown Prince, he found it extremely troublesome.
"No reason. I just felt it was his fate today, so I was merely acting on behalf of the heavens," Long Chen said, shrugging his shoulders.
"You…" Chu Yang was choked with anger. He had hoped that Long Chen would provide a reason so he could mediate, point out the Alchemist Guild behind Long Chen, and turn a big problem into a small one.
But Long Chen seemed unable to understand his intentions and blurted out such a line, making him so angry his face turned blue.
"Your name is Long Chen? I seem to have heard of you. It seems you've been quite impressive lately?" the Great Xia Empire's prince, Xia Changfeng, suddenly interjected.
"Hehe, impressive? Maybe a little, but compared to the people from your Great Xia Empire, it's nothing."
Long Chen pointed to the man with slanted eyebrows lying on the ground, his face full of mockery. "Driving a Demonic Beast, riding a carriage, charging through the downtown area, ignoring the lives of others—what a grand display of power."
"If a dog is this impressive, I truly cannot imagine how impressive the dog's master must be!"
Xia Changfeng's expression sank slightly, and he said in a deep voice, "Is this true?"
Long Chen coldly snorted. "Don't ask me, ask your dog."
"Lu Luo, is this true?" A flash of ruthlessness appeared in Xia Changfeng's eyes, but it was quickly suppressed as he spoke to the man with slanted eyebrows on the ground.
"My lord, I was in a rush to save time. Who knew the lowly commoners here wouldn't know to get out of the way? It's not my fault," the man with slanted eyebrows replied, having recovered slightly and enduring the intense pain.
"Bastard, this isn't Great Xia. Who would recognize a royal mount? Take him away!" Xia Changfeng's expression darkened, and he cursed. With that, two men dressed in Great Xia attire dragged the man with slanted eyebrows away.
Xia Changfeng turned to Chu Yang and said apologetically, "I have been lax in my discipline, and it was truly rude. When I return, I will definitely discipline him well. I have made a fool of myself in front of Brother Chu Yang."
"Not at all, Brother Changfeng, you are too polite. I hope this small matter will not affect the diplomatic relations between our two countries," Chu Yang hurriedly said.
"Brother Chu Yang, you worry too much. Let this matter pass." After saying this, Xia Changfeng said to Long Chen, "I have been lax in my discipline, and thanks to your reminder, little brother, I thank you here."
Everyone was stunned. No one expected that a prince of the Great Xia Empire would be so easy to talk to and would actually apologize to Long Chen. Everyone couldn't help but feel admiration; this Great Xia prince had an extraordinary bearing.
If Long Chen didn't have powerful Soul Power and perception, he might have thought the same. However, the fleeting killing intent in Xia Changfeng's eyes could not escape his keen perception.
"Your Highness, you are too polite. Dogs, well, it's normal for them to be disobedient. You have to tighten their skin often; you can't let them always open their mouths and extend their claws in front of people. That's not good," Long Chen laughed and helpfully reminded him.
Hearing this, the scarred man's expression darkened. The "dogs" in Long Chen's mouth had insulted all of their guards.
Xia Changfeng smiled slightly, as if he hadn't heard the underlying meaning. "Having just arrived in the Imperial Capital, my ears are filled with stories of you, little brother."
"I originally thought you were a noble Alchemist, but it seems everyone was wrong. Your Excellency appears to be both an Alchemist and a martial artist. This combat power is admirable. Among the younger generation, Long Chen, you are definitely a top-tier figure."
Long Chen looked at Xia Changfeng, not immediately understanding the meaning behind his words, so he just smiled slightly and did not answer.
"I wonder if you would do me the honor of having a few drinks with me and Brother Chu?" Xia Changfeng smiled.
The smile was very pleasant, but Long Chen intuitively felt that hidden within it were the fangs of a viper, which made him feel very uncomfortable.
"My apologies, I drank too much just now and cannot hold my liquor, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered with two dogs. I've made a fool of myself in front of you all, so I will take my leave."
Long Chen smiled slightly, completely ignoring Xia Changfeng's dark expression and the killing intent deep in the scarred man's eyes, and left with A-Man.
After Long Chen left, Shi Feng and the others hurriedly apologized to Chu Yang and rushed away. They were truly terrified today.
…
"Master, why didn't you let me kill that brat? Lu Luo's manhood was completely destroyed; this brat is being too bullying."
Now that the Great Xia Prince had returned to his residence, the scarred man beside him said hatefully.
"That brat is a member of the Alchemist Guild. Although not from our Empire's guild, if you killed him like that, I would have to hand you over to the Alchemist Guild to be dealt with," Xia Changfeng sipped his tea and said calmly.
"But that brat is too arrogant; I really can't swallow this anger." Being called a dog repeatedly was something no one could stand.
"Killing people requires methods. You need to be able to kill someone while ensuring you don't die yourself; that is the Righteous Path," Xia Changfeng shook his head and said.
"Could it be that Master… you have a way?" the scarred man said, overjoyed.
"Of course. Otherwise, would I be so amicable towards him? Everyone who has made me speak to them with an amicable face seems to have died."
A smile appeared at the corner of Xia Changfeng's mouth. The smile was very sinister, and the scarred man couldn't help but shiver.
"Don't forget the purpose of our visit this time. We cannot lose sight of the big picture because of a small matter. Let that brat live a few more days."
"Anyway, the Phoenix Empire's biggest festival—the Phoenix Lantern Festival—is coming up soon, and there will be the annual martial arts tournament."
"Do you think I praised him today for nothing? Hmph, when his reputation reaches a certain level, at that time, during the Lantern Festival, if you challenge him, do you think he can refuse?" Xia Changfeng leaned back in his chair, half-closing his eyes, a cold sneer appearing at the corner of his mouth.
The scarred man suddenly realized; this move was too ruthless. At that time, with countless people watching, Long Chen would have to go up whether he wanted to or not.
If he dared not to go up, he would be drowned by public opinion alone, not to mention that Long Chen was just a hot-blooded youth.
"However, pay attention. As my guard, you cannot reveal too much of your strength. I don't need to remind you again, do I?"
"Yes, Master, rest assured. All these years, I have never revealed my true trump card," the scarred man hurriedly said.
Xia Changfeng nodded, his eyes looking at the night sky. It was pitch black, just like the depths of his eyes, making him unfathomable.
