Rainbow Bridge (2nd Update)

"F… Father?"

Odin’s voice did not appear in Loki’s mind.

This Asgardian little princess had no idea what he had done. Odin had been watching him all along. Perhaps this was Odin’s test for him, or perhaps it was merely a test for Thor.

That was not important.

What mattered was that Loki understood one thing clearly:

Odin was still alive, which was why he could never gain Gungnir’s recognition or obtain Asgard’s supreme power—the Odin-Force reserved for kings alone, Father-level power!

He was still unqualified to possess it.

Yet Gungnir, which had previously been nothing more than an ornament, suddenly took the initiative to connect with Asgard. It gained Asgardian divine power ten times greater than his own and granted him access—though only limited access.

What did that mean?

"Father, I knew you still cared about me. I knew I still had a place in your heart!"

At that moment, tears streamed down Loki’s face.

What had I done all this for?

To earn Father’s recognition!

Mother, Thor, Heimdall, Sif, the Warriors Three!

The Asgardians!

Did you see that?

Father recognizes me!

"Then I will continue with my plan and earn even more of Father’s approval, until I hold the same place in his heart as Thor—or even surpass him!"

Excessive joy could always lower a person’s intelligence.

Everyone had a weakness.

To gain Odin’s recognition, Loki was willing to give everything.

At that moment, Gungnir shone brilliantly. Its purpose was obvious: save him and deal with that detestable Midgardian before him.

Then…

Die!

He had originally intended only to use Gungnir to frighten his opponent, then seize the chance to summon the Bifrost and flee back to Asgard.

But now, the enemy was weak and he was strong. It was the perfect time to bully someone with superior power.

Boom!

Amid countless rays of golden light, the Crimson Magic Belt lost its former tautness. It grew looser and looser until it was finally injured by Gungnir’s power and flew back to Old Wang’s waist, trembling.

The stronger power had exceeded its limits. If it forced itself to endure it, there would be only one outcome.

It would shatter into pieces!

Having regained all his confidence, Loki wore an arrogant smile.

He gripped Gungnir with both hands and activated it.

For some reason, Gungnir had not granted him full access. He could not throw it and could only use it as a staff or a laser gun, but that was already enough.

Its 100% guaranteed hit property remained.

All the golden light gathered at the spearhead, then fired toward Old Wang.

At that moment, Old Wang sensed an unprecedented crisis.

Fuck, Odin, you’ve gone too far!

I’m helping you! I’m helping your eldest son Thor complete his trial!

And now you’re protecting your younger son!

You’ve already fallen into Odinsleep and can’t use your own divine power, so you gave Loki authority over Gungnir just to deal with me.

Sure enough, whether on Earth or in Asgard, the youngest was always the most spoiled.

You’re cheating. Believe it or not, I’ll call someone?

Old Wang hesitated for one-tenth of a second before deciding to let it go.

He could not trouble the Sorcerer Supreme with everything. That man’s physical condition was not good. Every spell damaged his body and shortened his lifespan, leaving him less and less time in this world. That would not do.

Besides, Odin really did seem to dote on this Asgardian little princess.

What if the old man got pushed too far and actually interrupted Odinsleep?

Forget it, forget it.

Relying on others was worse than relying on himself.

I can beat the crap out of Thor’s Hammer when Odin controls it himself.

I refuse to believe I can’t teach Loki a lesson while he’s controlling Gungnir!

Dodging was useless.

Gungnir never missed. He definitely could not evade it, and even instant teleportation would be useless.

However fast light was, that was how fast Gungnir’s attack was.

He could only take it head-on.

Then…

Come on!

Defensive stance!

Black Tortoise’s Blessing!

Golden Bell!

True Qi throughout his body gathered before him and formed half a Golden Bell, with two dragon phantoms swimming within it. It barely blocked the golden light.

Asgardian energy was a relatively pure high-level power with distinct Asgardian characteristics. Its level was roughly comparable to the magical power Kamar-Taj received from the Vishanti Trinity.

After being condensed and purified by Gungnir, that energy became an even more special force—the legendary Odin-Force. It was at the demigod level, roughly on the same level as Shou-Lao’s power.

Their quality was comparable.

But the quantity far surpassed it.

Crack!

Boom!

The Golden Bell shattered inch by inch, canceling out ninety percent of Gungnir’s power.

The remaining golden light pierced through his body, inflicting the most terrifying injury Old Wang had suffered in his entire life—

Yes.

Nineteen years after coming to this world, Old Wang finally bled!

A drop of blood seeped from his chest and was immediately wiped clean by a handkerchief formed from the Crimson Magic Belt, which also conveniently stored it away.

"So after all that, you only drew a little blood?"

A strange smile appeared at the corner of Old Wang’s mouth.

Odin…

You really only wanted to teach me a lesson!

He had just been warned by the Sorcerer Supreme and forced into Odinsleep. A lion in its twilight years had lost its former majesty. Fighting away from home, under the Sorcerer Supreme’s watchful gaze, Odin did not dare go too far.

Unfortunately.

Odin, you still underestimated me!

Boom!

Loki’s first shot failed, so he immediately prepared a second.

"You dare use the same move against me twice?"

Old Wang rolled across the ground and arrived before Loki.

Every skill had a cooldown.

Before Loki could fire his second shot, Old Wang arched his back, lifted his leg, and threw an uppercut. Loki flew straight into the air, rising over a hundred meters off the ground.

Whoosh!

He bent at the waist, crouched, and kicked off!

The first kick unleashed Crane Beckoning!

The second kick unleashed Rising Sun!

The third kick unleashed Life’s Demise!

Crack! Crack! Crack!

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Loki flew into the sky.

Loki slammed into the ground.

Loki soared into the clouds.

Loki plunged into the abyss.

The golden light around his body was completely shattered. Loki’s eyes were vacant, and all hope was gone.

I…

I have absolutely no ability to fight back!

Father… are you really still watching over me?

Why am I still getting beaten even after obtaining Gungnir?

Th-this isn’t how it’s supposed to go!

It was already nighttime.

The wilderness of New Mexico was quiet. The cloud-covered night sky was dark, and only Hammer Base’s lights illuminated a small patch of land.

But now.

Golden Loki had turned into a little sun, lighting up a vast area and drawing everyone nearby.

"What is that?"

"Did Director Wang start fighting that hammer again? No, no, the hammer isn’t that color!"

"Did something else come over from Asgard?"

"Agent Romanoff, Agent Barton, come with me immediately! We’re supporting Director Wang!"

The entire Avengers Initiative mobilized.

Thor, still dazed and despondent, stared at the distant humanoid golden light in the sky with his mouth hanging open. "Lo… Loki? Why is he fighting my brother? I-is that Gungnir in his hand? Is Director Wang beating him up?"

Thor secretly clenched his fists.

Director Wang truly is my brother. He’s only a tiny bit weaker than me at my peak. So cool…

Wait!

No, that isn’t what I should be focusing on.

Wang, let go of my brother… let me do it!

The group ran toward the battle.

Old Wang greatly enjoyed the pleasure of brutally beating up a punching bag.

Loki, aren’t you good at illusions? Aren’t you good at deceiving people? Come on, come on!

Odin, aren’t you overprotective? Aren’t you good at remotely controlling divine artifacts to fight? Come on, come on!

And didn’t I still beat you… twice?

This feels fucking amazing!

"Hmph!"

Odin’s cold snort sounded in his mind, carrying both authority and the helplessness of old age.

He was asleep,

far away,

watched by the Sorcerer Supreme,

suppressed by the power of the Three Sanctums,

forced to devote most of his power to sealing Hela,

and Gungnir’s connection with Asgard had been more than half severed.

Most importantly, that young Immortal Iron Fist was only slightly weaker than the first-generation Iron Fist who had once fought alongside him!

Kill him?

As his father, I can’t do it!

Loki, your father did his best…

How the fuck did I give birth to two such useless sons? They’re nowhere near as capable as your elder sister!

A worried expression appeared on his face as he fretted over Asgard’s future. He always felt that Ragnarok would surely come true, that Asgard’s end was near.

A seven-colored streak of light descended from the sky and struck Loki.

The next instant, Loki vanished.

"The Bifrost…" Old Wang’s eyes narrowed slightly.

This thing was seriously overpowered.

Whether it was Odin, Thor, Loki, or any other Asgardian, how many times had they fallen into situations where death seemed inevitable? Surrounded by enemies stronger and more terrifying than themselves, on the verge of getting completely screwed over.

Then the Bifrost would appear.

It would transport them back to Asgard and remove them from danger.

Their enemies did not even dare pursue them!

Otherwise, they would be courting death!

Once Asgardians returned to Asgard, they received greater blessings of divine power, and their combat strength instantly increased by several times. Moreover, Asgard was their home territory, with millions of warriors ready to fight. How could anyone possibly win?

That was the main reason Old Wang had not decisively chased after him.

He would definitely go.

But not now.

"Director Wang!"

Almost everyone started running at the same time, but the first to arrive was not Thor—it was Captain America.

He was neither flushed nor out of breath as he stared at the vanished golden light and asked, "Who was he? Where did he come from? Where did he go?"

Before Old Wang could answer, Thor rushed over as well, bent over with his hands on his knees and gasping for breath. "Wang… brother, I… brother… Lo… Loki, how… how is he?"

"Don’t worry. I held back. I didn’t kill him," Old Wang said flatly.

"That’s good, that’s good."

Thor took a deep breath and caught his breath. "Father is dead. He was my only brother. If he died too, Asgard would have no king…"

"Sorry to interrupt."

Old Wang snorted and looked up at the sky. "Odin isn’t dead yet. You were fooled."

Thanks to "Monkey’s Reinforcements Pig" for the 1,000 reward. A beast has appeared—so depressing…
