Returning to Earth

Half a day later, Thor returned to the desolate dunes with Jane and his companions, looking dejected.

Seeing that Loki was missing from the returning group, Li Feng knew Loki had most likely faked his death and escaped. Still, he had to show some concern on the surface. After all, Loki had just tried to get on his good side.

Li Feng left the Mirror Dimension and hypocritically asked, "Where’s Loki?"

Thor silently glanced at Li Feng, let the little hammer in his hand slip to the ground, then collapsed onto a dune and began recounting what had happened.

At first, Thor’s plan had gone smoothly. He successfully drew Malekith out and made him extract the Aether from Jane’s body.

But what happened afterward did not go according to Thor’s plan.

First, while the Aether had just left Jane’s body and Malekith’s attention was entirely focused on it, Thor decisively used his beloved hammer to smash the Aether into tiny pieces.

Originally, with the Aether shattered into countless fragments, Thor figured Malekith would never be able to piece it back together in his lifetime, not even with industrial-strength glue.

But Malekith, that cheat, restored the Aether to its original state in the blink of an eye.

Seeing Malekith obtain the Aether and stride down the path of turning the world back into the Dark World, Thor immediately flew into a rage, swinging his hammer and declaring that he would fight Malekith one-on-one.

In the end, Malekith did not even spare Thor and the others a glance. After absorbing the Aether, he simply turned around and left.

Now all Nine Realms were screwed.

Driven to desperation, Thor and the others all looked ready to risk their lives as they charged at Malekith, determined not to stop until they had taken back the Aether.

Malekith had not come alone to seek the Aether. The outcome needed no explanation: soldiers fought soldiers, generals fought generals.

Sif and the Warriors Three held back a crowd of Dark Elf grunts, while Thor and Loki tried every possible way to get close to Malekith.

Unfortunately, the arrogant Malekith still did not spare Thor a glance. With a casual wave, he ordered the Cursed Warrior to kill Thor and the others, while he boarded his ship as though he had urgent business and could not be disturbed.

At first, Thor had wanted to quickly deal with the Cursed Warrior. But after taking several punches, he realized how powerful his opponent was. Not only could the Cursed Warrior beat him senseless, he could even casually slap Mjolnir away.

Mjolnir’s core had been extracted from the core of a dying star. How much strength did it take to knock it flying?

When Loki saw his beloved brother being beaten half to death, anger immediately surged within him. Only I get to bully Thor. Nobody else is allowed to hit him, not even Odin.

Enraged, Loki immediately tied a Space Grenade to a blade, swung it up, and prepared to slash the Cursed Warrior.

Although Loki’s reckless action successfully saved Thor, he was also brutally beaten by the Cursed Warrior, who remained alive and kicking despite taking a blade through the heart. The Cursed Warrior also stabbed Loki through the chest.

In the end, the Cursed Warrior was killed by the Space Grenade, while Loki paid for it with his life.

After hearing Thor’s account, Li Feng’s first thought was not to bring Thor and the others to somewhere with spatial fluctuations. Instead, he asked where Loki’s body was.

Facing a Mage who had mastered illusions to such a level, these idiots had not even brought Loki’s body back for an examination, yet they were already shouting that Loki was dead?

Who would believe that? He certainly did not. Unfortunately, I have no proof, and I don’t want to get involved in your mess. Li Feng pointed in a certain direction and said, "I sensed a spatial anomaly over there." Tilting his head as though in thought, he added, "The energy fluctuations are very similar to the Nine Realms Convergence anomaly we found in that abandoned warehouse on Earth."

Thor’s eyes lit up. "We can use the anomalous space to travel to another world!"

There was always a way out.

Thor, whose desire to fight Malekith for another three hundred rounds had been reignited, impatiently said, "Hurry and get us out of here."

Beside him, Jane became dazed upon hearing Li Feng mention the Nine Realms Convergence. "He wants to release the Aether not merely to destroy Asgard and some planet, but all of this."

Seeing Jane’s odd expression, Thor assumed Malekith had simply frightened her and comforted her, "With us here, he can’t possibly succeed."

Before Thor could finish, Jane pointed at her head and said, "When Malekith extracted the Aether, I don’t know whether it was because of the Aether or because I could peer into Malekith’s mind, but I saw him appear on Earth. Do you know what that means?"

Thor’s expression stiffened. He instantly realized something and blurted out, "Malekith wants to use the Nine Realms Convergence to drag all Nine Realms into darkness?!"

Sif and the others exchanged glances, their hearts trembling. We handed the Aether directly to Malekith. We’re really done for now.

Realizing the severity of the situation, Thor grabbed Li Feng and shouted, "Quick! We have to notify my father as soon as possible and have him prepare for battle."

Now you know to panic? You’re the kind of guy who would throw away the kingdom for his wife. Didn’t you think about the consequences when you were saving Jane?

Of course, given Li Feng’s self-preserving nature, he only dared think that to himself. He would never say it aloud. Thor’s best friends were right beside him, after all. If Li Feng dared mock Thor in front of him, the Warriors Three would dare beat him up in front of Thor.

At that moment, a piercing ringtone suddenly echoed through the cave.

Sif and the others lived in a world without mobile phone signals, so they naturally had no idea that this harsh sound was a phone ringing. They merely looked toward Jane in confusion.

Li Feng glanced at Jane, who was dressed in Asgardian-style clothing, and said speechlessly, "You brought an Earth phone with you to the Dark World? Were you planning to call the police if you ran into Malekith, or did you predict that you’d be trapped in the Dark World and brought it along to pass the time?"

Jane rolled her eyes at Li Feng and said, "If the phone can receive a signal, that means the passage to Earth is still open."

As she spoke, Jane answered the call. While babbling nonsense into the phone, she used the signal quality to determine whether the spatial passage had disappeared.

Li Feng curled his lip. Ma’am, I could sense the spatial fluctuations from miles away. What use is your stupid phone?

While grumbling inwardly, Li Feng carefully sensed the spatial fluctuations and pointed three meters ahead of him. "It’s here."

Before Li Feng could finish, Jane put down the phone and quickly stepped through the spatial passage.

Seeing Jane suddenly vanish, Thor stepped through the passage without a second thought.

Li Feng froze for a moment. As he covered his face and walked toward the spatial passage, he asked Sif beside him, "Thor is powerful. Even if there’s danger on the other side, he has nothing to fear. But what’s with Jane? Is she really so sure the other side is safe?"

Sif fell silent for a while, then sighed. "Because Jane knows Thor will save her."

After saying that, Sif, whose chest felt tight and miserable, quickened her pace toward the spatial passage.

With that thought, Li Feng pursed his lips and stepped through the spatial passage, returning to the abandoned warehouse where they had first discovered the anomaly.

The moment Li Feng and the others arrived on Earth, a group of agents armed to the teeth swiftly surrounded them with guns raised.

Recognizing that the agents belonged to S.H.I.E.L.D., Li Feng walked before the group, planted his hands on his hips, and arrogantly shouted, "Egg, I’m back! Aren’t you going to come welcome me?"

The moment Li Feng finished speaking, Natasha, dressed in a skintight outfit, walked over. After signaling the agents to lower their weapons, she said irritably, "Austin, do you believe Fury would immediately order them to open fire and shoot you if he knew you called him that in public?"

"I don’t. Let him try," Li Feng said with certainty.

Natasha rolled her eyes. She could not be bothered with Li Feng and walked over to Thor. Looking at Sif and the others, she frowned. "Seeing your well-organized group reminds me of Mexico, when you fought the Destroyer and destroyed an entire town." After a pause, Natasha narrowed her eyes and asked, "Who are you planning to fight this time, and where?"

Thor gave an awkward smile. "The Dark Elves."

Great, more aliens had come to wreak havoc on Earth. Is Earth really that attractive to vicious aliens? How do I apply for immigration to Asgard? Natasha covered her face and asked, "Where?"

Thor shook his head blankly. He was a warrior, not an astronomer. How could he know the location of the Nine Realms Convergence?

Jane interjected from the side, "Greenwich University in London."

The moment Jane spoke, everyone turned to look at her.

Seeing everyone staring at her with confused little eyes, Jane said proudly, "Erik previously calculated the positions of the Nine Realms, as well as the location of the Nine Realms Convergence. It’s at Greenwich University."

Natasha nodded, turned toward the agents behind her, and ordered, "Notify the Director. The battlefield is Greenwich University in London. Tell him to evacuate all civilians from the area to a safe location as quickly as possible."

As she spoke, Natasha beckoned over a car and told Thor, "We’re going to Greenwich University now to prepare the battlefield."

After a pause, Natasha climbed into the driver’s seat and said, seemingly to herself yet also as a warning to Thor and the others in the back seat, "I hope Greenwich University is still standing after the battle."

Sitting atop Dark Cloud, Li Feng heard Natasha and leaned over to tell Thor, "Don’t listen to Natasha. Fight however you need to when the time comes. There won’t even be a ghost in the university by then, so only the buildings will be damaged." Patting his chest, Li Feng promised, "I guarantee I’ll restore the university exactly as it was afterward."

Natasha raised an eyebrow. "Your Aladdin Genie Lamp?"

Li Feng nodded. Back then, he had restored even ruined New York in minutes. A tiny university would be fixed in less time than it took to catch his breath.

So long as they made sure nobody was in the school, Thor and the others could fight without holding back.
