Section 43

Zhang Chengzhi’s voice followed, his tone certain: “We can confirm the intelligence is correct; the Black Raven has indeed appeared here. Everyone, be more careful!”

“Yes!”

“Understood.”

Everyone responded in unison.

But in fact, for the next four full days, they scoured almost the entire vicinity and found no trace of the Black Raven Interstellar Pirates.

However, everyone was already accustomed to this situation.

The Universe…

How vast, how immense!

The Universe is a three-dimensional space in all directions—front, back, left, right, above, and below—all are potential hiding places.

Moreover, the Universe is truly too, too big, with cosmic units as its measurement.

Even if this starfield seems small…

In reality, it is terrifyingly, frighteningly large!

Trying to find a pirate group with only a dozen starships in this area is truly not an easy task.

Sometimes, pursuits can last for several months, years, or even more than a decade.

Xu Zi’an certainly wouldn’t wait that long.

Three more days.

A total of seven days.

Within seven days, if he couldn’t find the enemy’s traces, he would actively request to withdraw from this mission.

Then, he would take on another mission.

He didn’t have that much time to waste.

Fortunately…

Perhaps Heaven heard his call.

Just as this thought had settled, suddenly!

The detection radar abruptly emitted a large number of warnings, and then on the star map, the detection radar scanned and marked information for a total of seventeen starships!

And they were hiding in a dense asteroid belt directly ahead to the right!

Xu Zi’an’s gaze sharpened, and he pressed the communicator without hesitation, reporting loudly: “Careful, seventeen suspected pirate targets detected ahead to the right!”

The communicator fell silent.

No one replied to Xu Zi’an immediately.

Clearly, at the first moment Xu Zi’an issued the warning, they instinctively looked at their own detection radar screens.

But… they saw nothing.

Inside the Wu Jing, Wu Jing’s furious voice suddenly came through: “What’s wrong with you?!

What nonsense are you spouting? Where are the Interstellar Pirates’ traces here?

If your strength is poor, just follow along; no one will say anything to you, but now you’re randomly reporting false information…”

However!

Before his voice could even fall!

Zhang Chengzhi’s roar echoed through the cockpit of every starship.

“Enemy attack!!!”

The roar was as loud as thunder, instantly cutting off Wu Jing’s remaining words.

Wu Jing, still lecturing Xu Zi’an, shivered all over, and this time he didn’t even look at his own detection radar, hastily looking up in the direction Xu Zi’an had indicated.

Immediately, his body trembled.

He saw!

More than a dozen main cannon shells and dozens of secondary cannon shells were rapidly flying towards them. Their speed was so great that there was no time to dodge; they could only rely on the starship’s shields to withstand the impact.

Fortunately, everyone was accustomed to fighting Interstellar Pirates year-round and prioritized starship defense the most.

Even if this round of attacks landed squarely, there wouldn’t be too much of a problem.

On the other hand, Xu Zi’an.

The moment he detected the enemy, he quickly began to operate.

While operating, he simultaneously reported to the fleet.

Being well-prepared, he felt no pressure facing this first round of sneak attacks. Additionally, the enemy had not used their targeting radar to lock onto them to avoid detection, nor had they launched missiles, so these attacks could be easily dodged.

Of course…

Even if it happened suddenly, with Xu Zi’an’s four years of Star War Simulation combat experience…

This level of sneak attack couldn’t affect him at all.

But the others were in a bad state.

They had no time to ponder why the seemingly weakest Xu Zi’an could detect the enemy before them; they were only focused on dodging and defending.

For a moment.

The rumbling sound of explosions.

The swaying of shields as shockwaves hit the starship shields.

And the light generated by the explosions.

Illuminating this slightly dim space.

Making it dazzling.

Chapter 38: Attack, Battle!

Interstellar War always comes so suddenly.

This starfield was the territory of the Black Raven Interstellar Pirate group.

They had installed a large number of ultra-small detection devices.

They were probably detected days ago when they arrived.

And then they had been hiding in this asteroid belt.

This asteroid belt must have had cloaking devices installed, which allowed the Black Raven Interstellar Pirate group’s dozen starships to remain undetected.

If not for Xu Zi’an’s brilliant starship, which was equipped with a Red Excellent Quality detection radar, they would have suffered a great loss this time.

Although the fleet members remained skeptical even after Xu Zi’an’s warning.

They were, after all, a bit more vigilant.

Especially about the direction Xu Zi’an pointed out.

And this.

Was enough; at least no starships were lost in the sneak attack.

“Counterattack! Disperse positions to avoid being caught in the crossfire!”

“At the same time, be careful to dodge and avoid being focused fired!”

“Also, split into three teams. I’ll lead a team to attract a large amount of firepower from the front. Changyun and Wu Jing, each of you lead a team to outflank from the left and right sides!”

“We are in open space, and they are in the asteroid belt, which can act as a shield. If we don’t charge through, we will surely die!”

“Charge!!!”

Zhang Chengzhi’s roar was loud and urgent, but his mind was very calm, and his thoughts were extremely clear.

Hearing his command, everyone immediately had a plan, no longer as panicked and chaotic as when they were just ambushed.

Zhang Chengzhi took the lead, charging forward with his people.

Wu Jing and Liu Yun also chose their teammates separately, outflanking from the sides.

Wu Jing did not choose Xu Zi’an; he looked down on Xu Zi’an and feared he would be a burden.

Even now, he still didn’t quite understand why Xu Zi’an was able to detect the enemy’s traces before them.

But…

Perhaps Xu Zi’an observed them with his own eyes through the observation scope.

Hmm.

It must be like that.

Zhang Chengzhi did not choose Xu Zi’an for his frontal assault team because Xu Zi’an’s Rank was low, and the front was the most dangerous.

Wu Jing simply looked down on him.

Liu Yun had no choice but to pick him.
