See You in the Next World, End of Volume

It took less than half a second without using the elevator.

A black figure shot through Tuoniao Club’s lavish, magnificent corridor, swept over the lively ballroom, and went straight up to the third floor via the old spiral wooden staircase.

Kyle’s face was grim. Reaching the first room, he abruptly stopped. Before he could even check the room number, his outstretched hand changed from a knock into a push against the tightly shut door.

Because he failed to control his strength, the moment Kyle’s palm landed on the door, a handprint caved into its carved surface. The sheer force spread outward like an invisible shockwave.

Boom!

Amid a deafening crash, the metal lock on the handle bent, the fittings connecting the door to the wall shattered and fell away, and the entire door was blown into the room.

Inside the lavishly decorated room, expensive clothing—a man’s suit, a woman’s dress, and more—lay ripped and scattered everywhere.

"An earthquake? What happened?!"

A man and woman on a large red bed were startled out of their wits.

By the time they reacted, Kyle had already reached the bedside. His Shattered Gold Eyes were icy cold as he swept his gaze indifferently across the room.

The woman froze slightly, looked down at her body, then screamed and dove beneath the covers.

The man stared at Kyle in panic. Angry but not daring to speak up, he trembled and asked, "Sir, may I ask what this is about?"

Kyle did not respond. Divine power circulated as his field exerted a pull, and the resulting pressure spread out with a humming ripple like water. The couple on the bed did not last even a second before fainting.

"Master. You went to the wrong room. This isn’t 301; it’s next door," Vis reminded him belatedly.

"You should’ve said so earlier."

Kyle decisively turned around. Rather than leaving through the doorway, he kicked the wall inside the room with his left foot.

Amid rumbling explosions, the wall looked as if it had been ravaged by a bomb, revealing a massive opening large enough for someone to pass through. The room was instantly connected to Room 301 next door.

Amid the billowing dust and rubble.

A small figure sat on a chair in Room 301’s sitting area, looking toward Kyle. In a low murmur filled with indescribable emotion, he said:

"Just as expected. Just like she said, you’re blunt, stubborn, and impatient. Even after all these years, you haven’t changed at all."

"Who exactly are you? Why do you have Peggy’s card? What exactly did you bring me here for?!"

Kyle’s voice was icy as he looked at the mysterious figure, firing off his sharp questions without pause.

He did not step any closer. From five meters away, he knew that trying to approach an ability user proficient in the mysteries of space was simply impossible.

"Even now, you still haven’t thought of the answer? Or have you thought of it, but still refuse to admit the mistake you made back then?" The mysterious figure spoke in an extremely unpleasant distorted voice, sounding as though he was laughing or crying.

Kyle said nothing.

Some guesses might have flashed through his subconscious more than sixty years ago, only to be frozen and buried along with ordinary human vulnerability in that piece of history.

He had indeed grown stronger, but he had also become colder and more ruthless. The height of his evolution ran so deep that his bones, blood, and even genes radiated an unmistakable, unique nobility, making him utterly incompatible with ordinary people around him.

But no matter what, Kyle’s soul was still human—a traveler from a distant parallel Earth. That essence would not change even after a thousand, or ten thousand, years.

In the connected Rooms 301 and 302, the dust finally settled.

"What’s your name?" Kyle suddenly asked for no apparent reason.

The mysterious figure paused slightly before answering hesitantly, "You can call me ‘Apostle.’ I quite like that hero title."

Kyle shook his head and insisted, "I’m asking for your real name."

The mysterious figure paused, then said more slowly, "Luke. Luke Carter."

"Luke. Not a bad name." Kyle nodded and raised his left wrist, speaking directly to Vis in the form of an electronic watch. "Vis, add a name to the Karl family registry. Make it—Luke Karl."

"Understood, Master." Vis immediately obeyed.

"You really are…"

Facing this, Luke helplessly shook his head and rose from the chair.

"Alright, it’s time for me to leave."

As Luke spoke, the night wind happened to blow in through the window and swept through the wrecked room, yet it did not stir even a fold of his cloak.

Under the dim lights, his small body began shifting from solid to transparent. The shadow cast on the floor blurred, as if he were about to evaporate from the room.

"So that’s how it is." Kyle understood after one glance and said thoughtfully, "You don’t exist in this world—or rather, in this Marvel universe."

"As expected of you." Luke smiled. "That’s right. I’m fine around other people, but once I get near you, this world rejects me and banishes me to another one. In our world, it’s called the Savior Rejection Rule."

"Still, being able to come and see you was worth it."

By then, Luke’s feet had already disappeared. Only the phantom of his upper body remained, projected unrealistically against the wall like a 3D image.

Kyle had never been good at showing emotion. He calmly asked, "Is there anything you need me to know?"

"Of course." Luke nodded and looked directly at him as he quickly said, "You don’t need to worry about the Space Primordial Stone. It has always been by your side; you just can’t see it yet."

"I already know that." Kyle nodded, a subtle curve appearing at the corner of his lips. "I’m afraid that long ago, while it was still a card, it gradually formed a connection with my body just like an Ability Card, silently altering my physique and genes."

He paused before continuing, "If I have descendants, perhaps they’ll be able to control abilities derived from the Space Primordial Stone."

Luke’s remaining upper body trembled slightly. He opened his mouth to speak, only to discover that as he neared the return stage, his voice could no longer travel out.

He could only raise both hands and rapidly convey his meaning in sign language—

See you in the next dimensional world.

"I’ll go and bring you back."

Kyle spoke with confidence and waved goodbye. As the mysterious figure’s final afterimage remained, he said with exceptional calmness, "You said I made a mistake back then. Maybe it wasn’t a mistake. Maybe what was right simply wasn’t obvious enough…"

Luke’s final trace of a phantom vanished completely, and the disorienting sensation of space fell silent.

Those words subtly echoed back and forth through the room, where only Kyle remained.

Kyle stood where he was without moving. After a long silence, Vis cautiously asked, "Master, just now…"

"Did you register the name I told you to register?" Kyle asked.

"It’s been registered," Vis replied quickly.

"Then that’s enough. As for everything else, even I don’t understand it very well. We’ll slowly think it over and find out more in the future."

After thinking for a moment, Kyle did not linger any longer and headed out through the door.

Luke was truly gone. When he said he was leaving this world, "world" did not mean Earth, the Milky Way Galaxy, the human realms, or the cosmic realm ruled by the divine domain composed of the Nine Kingdoms.

It meant another vast parallel universe.

"Where are we going?" Vis continued to ask.

"Nowhere. We’ve seized control of the remaining two Helicarriers, so leave the cleanup to Fury, Steve, Tony, and the others. This farce between Hydra and S.H.I.E.L.D. can officially be declared over. From now on, no large organization on Earth will be able to start a civil war."

After summing it up, Kyle added meaningfully, "It’s time for us to go home."
