Sentinel Robots

The intelligent system said, "Calculating. Calculation complete. Beginning formula substitution. Substitution complete."

"Good. Next, alter their memories."

Wang Bert smiled faintly and traveled through space to arrive before the female doctor. Then, he invaded her consciousness and examined her memories.

"Only she and Worthington know the full formula. The other researchers only know fragments of it."

Wang Bert nodded and began altering the female doctor’s memories of the formula. Before long, the formula in her mind had become a fake one.

Wang Bert had successfully analyzed White Queen’s Mind Power some time ago. Combined with all sorts of Soul Secret Techniques, altering memories was ridiculously easy for him.

Next, Wang Bert went to the trouble of altering the memories of all the researchers, as well as Worthington. Soon, he was the only one left who knew the real formula.

"They can’t discover this for now."

After considering it, Wang Bert went to the drug manufacturing room and quietly produced a batch of genuine cure.

Then, Wang Bert took out a stack of banknotes and said, "When Worthington Laboratory begins its experiments, automatically swap the fake agents for the real ones. Keep it up for one month."

The banknotes vanished, and one million dollars disappeared from Wang Bert’s account—the cost was so low because Wang Bert himself possessed Space Power, making the swap easy.

Then, Wang Bert instructed the "Nano Cure" in the room, "When they want to draw your blood, contact me immediately. I’ll deal with the blood issue for you."

The nanorobot replied, "Yes, BOSS."

"That should do it. I’m looking forward to seeing them use the fake cure against me."

Wang Bert smiled faintly, vanished from Worthington Laboratory, and headed to his next stop: Trask Industries.

"BOSS, the Sentinel Robots have been successfully developed. Only the final few steps remain."

Azazel, who had been monitoring the place all along, introduced the situation to Wang Bert. "Before long, we’ll be seeing them on the battlefield."

Looking at the ugly black Sentinel Robots in the base, Wang Bert asked, "Where did the metal on these Sentinel Robots come from?"

"Outer space. It came from a very special metallic meteorite. Trask Industries even believes it’s alive."

Azazel said, "Trask Industries spent decades fusing this metal with Mystique’s genes to create the Sentinel Robots. They can not only detect Mutant Genes, but also imitate them and wield all kinds of superpowers.

"For example, they can transform into Human Torch, Iceman, and so on. BOSS, these Sentinel Robots will become mutants’ worst nightmare."

"If I weren’t around, that really would be the case."

Wang Bert nodded. In the movie, the mutants had been utterly crushed by the Sentinel Robots. In the end, they had no choice but to reboot the world.

But ordinary people had not fared any better. In order to completely eliminate mutants, the Sentinel Robots had not even spared humans whose mutant abilities had yet to awaken. Eventually, the world had become a wasteland, and everyone had been left scavenging bottle caps together.

Of course, this world would never turn out that way, because the Sentinel Robots would become Wang Bert’s weapon, just like the cure.

Wang Bert walked up to a Sentinel Robot and asked, "Sentinel, how are you?"

Light lit up in the robot’s chest, followed by a mechanical voice. "BOSS, I’m very well."

"Nothing unusual?"

Wang Bert asked. Long ago, he had secretly used the intelligent system to infiltrate Trask Industries’ systems. Then, without Trask Industries realizing a thing, it had taken on Wang Bert’s shape.

Tony Stark might have been incredibly full of himself, but he had every right to be. When it came to intelligent systems, he was absolutely among the best.

"Nothing unusual. Trask Industries still hasn’t detected my presence."

Sentinel replied, "BOSS, I have changed the highest authority over the Sentinel Robots to you. All Sentinel Robots will obey your commands."

"Good. How many Sentinel Robots are there now?" Wang Bert asked.

"A little over a hundred."

Sentinel said, "Since they haven’t experienced actual combat yet, their combat capabilities are still at the most basic stage. They’re rookies among rookies. However, they possess advanced intelligence. As long as they go through a few battles, they’ll immediately undergo a transformation.

"Also, all Sentinel Robots share the same network. They can share the data from any battle."

"Over a hundred? If Trask Industries went all out on producing Sentinel Robots, how many could they make?" Wang Bert asked.

"As long as there are sufficient resources, they can manufacture as many as needed. Trask Industries has already found a way to regenerate the Mysterious Metal."

Sentinel said, "Some of the Mysterious Metal’s traits are very similar to those of living creatures."

"Is that so? Heh, that’s a good thing, isn’t it?"

Wang Bert laughed. The reason he had never developed an Iron Legion was because someone else would help him develop one.

A Sentinel Legion would be no worse than an Iron Man Armor Legion. More importantly, the Sentinel Legion would be built with someone else’s money.

"Of course."

Sentinel said, "All Sentinels will remain forever loyal to you, BOSS!"

"I like that. Keep everything as it is. I’ll wait for Trask Industries to come attack me."

Wang Bert smiled and said, "Oh, right. Get me some Mysterious Metal. I want both the raw and evolved varieties."

"Yes, BOSS."

Sentinel immediately dispatched robots to deliver the Mysterious Metal. Trask Industries did not notice anything at all, because Sentinel controlled all the data.

Wang Bert picked up a piece of black Mysterious Metal and studied it carefully. Since this Mysterious Metal could fuse with Mutant Genes, analyzing it would be of considerable help to Wang Bert.

Half an hour later, Wang Bert placed the Mysterious Metal into his storage space. Then, he summoned the Silver Samurai Armor—the spoils from the previous battle, made of Adamantium.

The material alone was worth billions of dollars, not to mention the advanced technology within it. This armor could absorb mutant abilities; in the movie, Wolverine had nearly been drained dry by it.

Wang Bert said, "Sentinel, I’m giving you this silver armor. Find a way to fuse it with a Sentinel Robot and create a unique body."

"Thank you, BOSS."

Sentinel appeared extremely delighted, but that was merely an emotional simulation system. It was not an artificial lifeform and could not truly feel joy. All of its emotions existed to serve Wang Bert.

"Work hard. Maybe one day, you’ll become a true artificial lifeform."

Wang Bert smiled and left Trask Industries. Azazel did not leave with him, instead remaining in the base to assist Sentinel.

As for Wang Bert’s encouragement, Sentinel expressed… well, Sentinel did not express anything at all. It simply continued monitoring Trask Industries obediently.

The successive successes of the cure and the Sentinel Robots made the leader of the Human Supremacy Organization extremely pleased. He gathered the members for another meeting.

"When are we killing Iron Man?"

A military bigwig said with a vicious expression, "For the past three months, I’ve lived in fear every day, terrified that Iron Man would suddenly come arrest me with a group of people. Several generals under me have already been taken by him."

"Not only have I been terrified, I’ve also suffered massive financial losses."

Another member gritted his teeth. "Iron Man tracked down my shell companies through money flows and forcibly froze them under the Patriot Act. I’ve lost at least several billion."

Another person said, "Over the past three months, our strength has shrunk by at least half. If this continues, we may completely collapse."

One member shouted in dissatisfaction, "Worthington, Trask Industries, Alkali Studio, haven’t your projects succeeded yet? Over the past three months, we’ve funneled at least tens of billions of dollars into you."

"Everyone, please be patient. I called you here today to announce good news."

The leader of the Human Supremacy Organization smiled. "Worthington, Trask Industries, Alkali Studio, the three of you can introduce your results yourselves."

Everyone turned their attention to the three. Worthington was the first to stand and say, "The Mutant Cure has been successfully developed. In only three seconds, it can cure mutants of their condition and turn them back into normal people."

Wow! The members clapped excitedly. With the cure, mutants would be utterly helpless.

The military bigwig immediately said, "Begin mass production at once. I’ll turn it into weapons and send the mutants to Hell."

Worthington frowned slightly and said tactfully, "My cure is permanent. In other words, after they’re injected, they’ll completely become ordinary people."

"Don’t worry. We won’t indiscriminately slaughter innocents. We’re the Human Supremacy Organization, not the Human Slaughter Organization."

The leader waved his hand and said to the military bigwig, "When designing the weapons, watch the lethality. Don’t kill anyone. Also, use plastic weapons whenever possible, so Magneto can’t counter them."

"I know what to do."

The military bigwig did not object. After all, this was a civilized society. Going too far would easily provoke public opposition.

After Worthington sat down, Trask Industries’ representative turned on the television and said, "The Sentinel Robots have been successfully developed. This is combat footage."

Everyone turned toward the television. A group of Sentinel Robots, each over three meters tall, were battling a tank unit. Sometimes they fired lasers, sometimes they froze their opponents. In less than five minutes, they had destroyed more than a dozen tanks.

"The most powerful aspect of the Sentinel Robots is that they can imitate different Mutant Genes. In other words, they have no weaknesses and can deal with any mutant."

Trask Industries’ representative said proudly, "They are invincible. Not a single cent of your investment was wasted."

Everyone beamed with delight. One member asked, "Can Magneto counter them?"

"No. They are not ordinary metal. Magneto cannot control them."

Trask Industries’ representative answered with certainty, "Furthermore, they possess the ability to detect mutants and can locate all mutants within a short period of time."

"This couldn’t be better."

Everyone was ecstatic, and the leader was no exception. He asked, "How many Sentinel Robots have you produced already?"

Trask Industries’ representative said, "Over a hundred. Give us time, and we can manufacture tens of thousands, even hundreds of thousands. At that point, there will no longer be any mutants in this world."

"Humanity above all!"

Everyone shouted in unison, unable to contain their excitement. After enduring three months, they had finally seen the dawn of success.

After Trask Industries’ representative sat down, Dr. Rice of Alkali Studio stood and said, "With everyone’s support, I have successfully created a mutant clone legion. Its members include Wolverine, Sabretooth, Cyclops, Jean, and others. They will not disappoint you."

Trask Industries’ representative looked somewhat disdainful upon hearing that. In his opinion, mutant clones were far inferior to his Sentinel Robots.

"Very good, everyone. We now possess the strength to rival Iron Man."

The leader nodded in satisfaction and shouted, "Next, it’s time for us to strike back."

Everyone shouted together, "Strike back! Strike back…"

"If we want to wipe out mutants, we must first kill Iron Man. Once he dies, the mutants will never be able to cause trouble again."

The leader raised a hand to quiet them and continued, "In other words, our next step is to find an opportunity to ambush Iron Man and send him to Hell."

"We all want to kill Iron Man, but the problem is that he can use Teleportation. He won’t be easy to kill."

After thinking for a moment, the military bigwig asked Trask Industries’ representative, "Can the Sentinel Robots use Teleportation?"

"The Sentinel Robots currently lack Space Power."

Trask Industries’ representative shook his head. "The Mysterious Metal is somewhat repelled by Space Power. However, we will find a way to solve this problem. The Sentinel Robots are perfect."

"The problem is, we need it now."

Dr. Rice glanced at Trask Industries’ representative and smiled. "I have cloned mutants with Space Power under my command. If they team up, they should be able to prevent Iron Man from using Teleportation."

Trask Industries’ representative said unhappily, "Iron Man’s Teleportation is not so easily disrupted. As far as I know, his Space Power is several times stronger than the likes of Nightcrawler and Azazel."

"Iron Man is indeed powerful, but even he probably can’t withstand the combined interference of dozens of Space Power users."

Dr. Rice said calmly, "Quantitative change can produce qualitative change, can’t it?"

"No matter how powerful Iron Man is, he is only human, not a god. Dozens of space mutants can definitely suppress him."

The leader said excitedly. Everyone nodded in agreement. They knew Iron Man was strong in spatial abilities, but they did not know that Iron Man’s strength was an utterly unmatched strength! Dr. Rice was somewhat pleased with himself. His clones were the strongest. How could mere robots compare to cloned humans?

The military bigwig said excitedly, "If he can’t teleport, Iron Man is dead for sure."

One member reminded them, "Don’t forget that Iron Man has Money Power."

The leader said, "Money Power only works if he has money. I’ll find a way to make his account temporarily malfunction."

"You can do that?"

The military bigwig said impatiently, "Then what are we waiting for? Let’s hurry up and discuss how to ambush him."

The leader said, "This ambush must be foolproof. Otherwise, we will be doomed beyond redemption."

The other members nodded. "Throw all our strength into it. Use every method we have. Go all out and stake our lives on it."

After considering it, the military bigwig said, "Iron Man often inspects military bases. We’ll set a trap at one of them and wait for him to come. Then the cure, the Sentinel Robots, and the mutant clones will all attack together and kill him once and for all."
