Setting a Goal, Limit Douluo
Seeing Xu Xing like this, the others grew increasingly disgusted with the Holy Spirit Cult. Far away in Seagod Pavilion, Su Yu stroked his chin. "I wonder whether this experience will be a blessing or a curse for him."
The holiday ended. None of them had enjoyed it much, perhaps because of Xu Xing. In any case, Xu Xing had truly had a miserable holiday. He built a grave for every person in the village, but since the bodies were unrecognizable, he buried them all in one place.
After finishing the graves, Xu Xing began rebuilding the village by himself. Tianqi Village was where he had grown up, and he did not want it to be reduced to ashes by a single fire. But Xu Xing was no craftsman, and by the time the holiday ended, he had only rebuilt a small portion of it.
Shrek Academy soon reopened. After arriving at school, Xu Xing walked into the classroom alone with his head lowered, then sat by himself in a corner. Seeing him like that, the others could only sigh. It was their first time encountering something like this, and they did not know how to comfort him.
Not long afterward, Su Yu arrived in the classroom. He looked over the students before his gaze settled on Xu Xing. Everyone else also looked toward Xu Xing, and the entire classroom fell silent.
After a moment, Su Yu shifted his gaze away and said, "I already know about what happened in Tianqi Village. Other than Xu Xing, all of you did well. There may be good people among Evil Soul Masters, but the odds of there being one—and of you actually encountering one—are one in ten million! You must remember that."
"Yes." Everyone immediately nodded.
Xu Xing clenched his fists beneath the desk. He truly hated his own uselessness. It could have been resolved so easily, yet because of him, the entire village had suffered!
"On the first day back, clean the classroom and your dormitories first. Xu Xing, come with me," Su Yu said.
Hearing Su Yu’s words, Xu Xing stood up with his head lowered and followed him out. The others immediately began discussing it.
"Hey, do you think Teacher Su is going to comfort Xu Xing?"
"Maybe. I just hope Xu Xing won’t be softhearted again in the future."
"Sigh, we were at fault too. One person escaped, and we didn’t even notice."
Everyone fell silent. Chen Jie spoke up, "All right, all right. Go clean up."
Office
Su Yu pointed to a chair. "Sit."
Xu Xing shook his head. Su Yu smiled. "If you don’t want to sit, then don’t. Tell me, what are you thinking about right now?"
Xu Xing was silent for a moment before saying, "I want to kill every Evil Soul Master in the world!"
Resting his chin on both hands, Su Yu said, "That idea is good in one sense and bad in another. Killing Evil Soul Masters is fine, but you must never become someone who only knows how to kill in anger. Then you would be no different from an Evil Soul Master."
Xu Xing nodded slightly. Su Yu continued, "How about this? If one day you can fight Mo Qi to a draw without using the Fight Heaven Battle Art, I’ll help you revive everyone in your village, including your parents and your uncle."
"Really?!" Xu Xing looked at Su Yu excitedly.
Su Yu smiled and nodded. "Of course. But you don’t know who Mo Qi is yet, do you?"
Xu Xing nodded.
"Mo Qi is the current Seagod Pavilion Master, a rank ninety-nine Limit Douluo! If you want to fight him to a draw, you’ll need to cultivate to rank ninety-nine at the very least," Su Yu said with a smile.
A bitter expression appeared on Xu Xing’s face. "How could I possibly defeat the Seagod Pavilion Master…?"
Su Yu smiled and waved a hand. "Don’t ever think about whether you can’t defeat him. Mo Qi’s talent when he was young was even worse than yours. Now that you have my guidance, defeating Mo Qi won’t be very difficult."
"Really?" A trace of hope rose in Xu Xing’s eyes.
Su Yu smiled and nodded. "Of course it’s true. Would I lie to you?"
Xu Xing clenched his fists and nodded with determination. "All right! I’ll definitely cultivate to Limit Douluo as soon as possible!"
"Work hard. Back then, the Shrek Nine Devils all reached Titled Douluo in their early twenties. I believe you can do the same," Su Yu said as he looked at Xu Xing.
Xu Xing nodded firmly.
By the time Xu Xing returned to the classroom, he was already feeling much better. At least he now had a chance to make up for his mistake. As long as he worked hard, the people in the village could be revived!
While everyone else cleaned, Xu Xing began cultivating desperately. There were only two things in his mind now: cultivation and killing Evil Soul Masters.
The other students in class one noticed that Xu Xing was no longer constantly hanging his head in depression, and they all breathed a sigh of relief for him.
In the days that followed, Xu Xing became the most diligent person in class one. He wasted not a single second. He was either meditating or studying Buddhist scriptures, and at night, he even replaced sleep with meditation.
It was possible to replace sleep with meditation, but most people would not do so every day. After all, sleeping was still more comfortable than meditating.
Yet ever since Xu Xing left Su Yu’s office, he had continuously used meditation in place of sleep.
Everyone could see Xu Xing’s progress. His cultivation speed was rapidly catching up to Chen Jie, who ranked first. This made everyone nervous, and not a single person dared slack off anymore.
Seeing everyone in the class working so desperately, Su Yu was also quite gratified. Only by working hard now could they become true prodigies in the future.
Before long, another semester passed. There were already ten Soul Ancestors in the entire first year, while all the rest were Soul Elders. Yet this time, none of them took the final examination.
That was because Xu Xing returned home as soon as the holiday began. When the others learned that he was going back to rebuild the village, they immediately decided to help him. Then they all left the academy without even attending the final examination.
It was highly improper for class one to skip the final examination, but no one dared say a word, because Su Yu was their homeroom teacher. With a Limit Douluo backing them, no one dared utter a peep. Even if they had complaints, they could only swallow them.
Tianqi Village
Su Yu also came here. Since all of his students had run over to rebuild the village, he decided to lend a hand as well. Seeing Su Yu and his classmates, Xu Xing’s eyes filled with tears.
"All right, get to work. The terrain map of Tianqi Village has already been sent to your watches. We must help Little Xing rebuild a Tianqi Village exactly like the one before," Su Yu said with a smile.
"Yes!"
Everyone immediately opened the terrain maps. Each person went to a different location and began building houses. The houses in Tianqi Village were all made of wood, which greatly reduced the difficulty of construction. Even working slowly, they could still make some progress.
